Innovation scholars disseminate their significant findings through international scientific journals. We conducted content analysis of 2,869 peer-reviewed articles on innovation in Africa, examining their origins, themes, collaborative networks, and scholarly influence. These articles, spanning the years 2015–2021, were curated from the Web of Science database across scientific, social science, and humanities journals. The findings reveal that 46.3% of these articles lacked contributions from African organizations or scholars, while 25.1% involved collaborations between African and non-African entities. A remaining 28.6% were exclusively authored by African scholars, with South African universities being the most frequent contributors. Notably, articles authored by scholars from non-African institutions garnered more citations and appeared in journals with higher impact factors. Key themes within these articles revolved around the knowledge economy, African business innovation, agricultural advancements, and the role of mobile phones in knowledge dissemination and marketing. Surprisingly, sustainability topics were notably absent. South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana featured prominently in the discussions. In conclusion, it is imperative to foster broader participation from African nations and scholars in innovation research and ensure a stronger African perspective in international publications. This study aimed to investigate LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, and CASBEE certification systems and assess their integration potential with BIM as facilitator to test different project alternatives in order to help achieve certification system requirements. A literature review was conducted, in which 299 articles were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases and refined using the Bibliometrix tool, resulting in a total of 271 published articles. Of these, 15 used tools to facilitate BIM-LEED integration and were therefore selected for analysis. The results indicate that integrating BIM and green building rating systems can make the process more agile and standardized. However, more research in this field is needed, especially investigating the suitability of BIM authoring tools other than Revit, and evaluating the efficiency of commercial tools and those developed in scientific research to assist in the certification process. The purpose of the present paper is to map the characteristics of scientific papers related to culinary arts education and the competencies models theory. The methodology consists of co-word, co-citation, citation, coauthor bibliometric analysis, and the generation of visual maps on VOSviewer software. The results found 17 publications, 12 journals, 37 authors, 9 countries, 46 keywords, and 623 references. Scopus database is the one that shows more results; the search terms are competencies and culinary arts. The most critical years are in terms of the number of published papers, 2016 and 2017. The leading journals are The Culinary Science & Technology and Hospitality & Tourism Education. The research on the theme is based on subjects' labor relations, in the context in which they perform their training. American authors lead the ranking of publications, but they are not the most cited ones, no relationship is found in the institutional links of these authors. The contribution that this bibliometric study presents acts as a support for future research in order to avoid mistakes regarding the use of scattered terms, database choice, methods gaps, main references, and the main authors about competencies models theory on culinary arts education. Bird migration in the Neotropics is complex and highly diverse. Indeed, for many taxa, basic questions such as where they go are still relevant. Satellite-tracking studies of Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) migration have revealed extensive variability in their movement strategies, contributing to their widespread distribution. However, South American migratory populations are still among the least explored. By integrating five years of satellite-tracking data, citizen science databases and classical raptor monitoring techniques, we present a case study reporting a hitherto unknown nonbreeding area for the Turkey Vulture subspecies ruficollis. Specifically, we document that a minor proportion of the population that breeds in northwestern Argentine Patagonia migrates northwards to central Chile at the beginning of the austral autumn. Our findings improve our basic knowledge of the Turkey Vulture migration within the Neotropics and establish a baseline to study the movement strategies of the migratory ruficollis populations breeding in high latitudes of South America. Event-related potential measures have been extensively studied in mental disorders. Among them, P300 amplitude and latency reflect impaired cognitive abilities in major depressive disorder (MDD). The present systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to investigate whether patients with MDD differ from healthy controls (HCs) with respect to P300 amplitude and latency. PubMed and Web of Science databases were searched from inception to 15 January 2023 for case-control studies comparing P300 amplitude and latency in patients with MDD and HCs. The primary outcome was the standard mean difference. A total of 13 articles on P300 amplitude and latency were included in the meta-analysis. Random effect models indicated that MDD patients had decreased P300 amplitude, but similar latency compared to healthy controls. According to regression analysis, the effect size increased with the severity of depression and decreased with the proportion of women in the MDD samples. Funnel plot asymmetry was not significant for publication bias. Decreased P300 amplitude may be a candidate diagnostic biomarker for MDD. This paper aims to develop some specific theoretical themes, which could be useful for HR personnel in adopting and implementing blockchain technology in the HR department. Total 126 published documents during the time interval 2016–2021 from the Scopus and Web of Science databases were explored to classify the relevant 25 records using the PRISMA flow diagram. Complete bibliometric information has been synthesised concerning titles, abstracts, and keywords of each of those 25 publications. VOSviewer was used to generate term co-occurrence network maps based on assembled bibliometric information. Four thematic clusters were evolved from the network maps and based on the thematic clusters; two theoretical themes were developed through associations. Two theoretical themes, i.e., Employee-Systems Interaction (ESI) and Blockchain Framework (BcF) for HR, were identified to become the prime movers for adopting and implementing blockchain in the domain of HRM. Later, for justifying the two theoretical themes and testing the robustness of the results, we reported the key terms thoroughly and critically going through the 25 publications. ESI and BcF for HR will add tremendous theoretical contributions to the existing body of knowledge in the fields of blockchain and strategic HRM. Directions for future research have been mentioned. Several epidemiological studies have suggested that flavonoid intake is associated with a decreased risk of cardiometabolic disease. However, the results remained inconsistent and there is no dose-response meta-analysis for specific outcomes. We conducted a meta-analysis to synthesize the knowledge about their associations and to explore their dose-response relationships. We comprehensively searched the PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for prospective cohort studies published up to December 1, 2021. Summary relative risks (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were pooled for the association between flavonoid intake and cardiometabolic disease. Evaluations of linear or nonlinear dose-response were presented by restricted cubic splines. We identified 47 articles, including 1,346 676 participants and 127,507 cases in this meta-analysis. The summary of RR per 500 mg/d increase in flavonoid intake was 0.93 (95% CI 0.88–0.98) for cardiovascular disease, 0.89 (95% CI 0.84–0.94) for diabetes, and 0.97 (95% CI 0.94–0.99) for hypertension, respectively. We also found a linearity dose-response association between total flavonoid intake and cardiovascular disease (p nonlinearity = 0.541), and diabetes (p nonlinearity = 0.077). Our finding based on quantitative data suggested that a higher level of flavonoid intake is beneficial for the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In January 2022, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) was officially ratified, marking a significant milestone as it came into effect with the participation of 15 countries. The primary objective of this research endeavor is to employ advanced analytical tools, specifically VOSviewer and Scimago Graphica, to conduct a comprehensive analysis of scholarly articles focusing on the critical topic of food safety within the 15 "RCEP" countries during the period spanning 2022 to 2023. A rigorous selection process was meticulously undertaken, resulting in the identification of 323 pertinent articles from the highly regarded Web of Science database, adhering to specific conditions set by the researcher. The primary outcome of this study entails a thorough examination and identification of prominent research hotspots within the field of food safety across the 15 "RCEP" countries. Gamifying is related to the motivational gain and engagement of participants in these systems, even in situations not exclusively related to the creative and entertainment industry. In the Biology teaching context, motivational strategies have fundamental importance to the learning process. The aim of this work was to investigate the development and application of gamified systems, mainly board games, in Biology teaching. Through a systematic review, 39 scientific studies published in the Science Direct, PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus databases were identified and categorised. As a result, an increased distribution of publications under this focus was observed over the analysed period. The main benefits attributed to the use of board games as a teaching-learning tool were: low cost and accessibility; wide applicability and flexibility; overcoming of communicative and cognitive barriers; improved motivation, engagement and learning; and stimulus of new experiences and skills. The purpose of this paper is to present how data mining (DM) and machine learning (ML) contribute to the product development process (PDP). The Methodi Ordinatio methodology was used to identify important articles for this study, and VOSviewer software was applied to generate visual maps. A systematic review was conducted on the Web of Science, Scopus and Science Direct databases. Forty-six articles were designated for analysis in order to evaluate the most commonly used DM and ML techniques to support the PDP, as well as to demonstrate which specific phases are most often applied. In addition, the main limitations of the analyzed techniques were identified. The results show that the association rule technique was the most commonly used, followed by text mining, and the most used phases were planning and design. In this context, this study intends to stimulate companies to use computational techniques, more precisely DM and ML, to assist in the generation of knowledge and become a strategic factor in the PDP. Virtual Reality (VR) has the capacity to increase tourists' responses, compared with other marketing tools. In tourism, it can play a decisive role in its promotion, since it can generate impactful information that will increase the visit intention. However, there are few reviews that focus on VR as a promotional tool in tourism. To overcome this limitation, this work provides a bibliometric analysis of papers from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The analysis allows us to conclude that although its potential is recognized, the use of VR is infrequent in tourism. Polygonum hydropiper L. (Polygonaceae) (PH) is a traditional Chinese traditional medicine with a pungent flavor and mild drug properties. PH is mainly distributed in the channel tropism in the stomach and large intestine. PH has multiple uses and can be used to treat a variety of diseases for a long time. This review summarizes the phytochemical and pharmacological activities, and applications of PH from 1980 to 2022. We also provide suggestions for promoting further research and developing additional applications of PH. The data and information on PH from 1980 to 2022 reviewed in this article were obtained from scientific databases, including Science Direct, PubMed, Science Citation Index, SciFinder Scholar (SciFinder), Springer, American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), etc. Some information was obtained from classic literature on traditional Chinese medicines. The search terms were Polygonum hydropiper, phytochemistry compositions of Polygonum hydropiper, pharmacological activities of Polygonum hydropiper, and applications of Polygonum hydropiper. The comprehensive analysis of the literature resulted in 324 compounds being isolated, identified, and reported from PH. Regarding traditional uses, the majority of phytochemical and pharmacological studies have indicated the diverse bioactivities of PH extracts, flavonoids, and volatile oil elements, including antibacterial, antifungal, insecticidal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. PH has a long history of diversified medicinal uses, some of which have been verified in modern pharmacological studies. Ginkgo biloba Linn (Ginkgoaceae) [leaves extract (GBE)] is authorized for the treatment of sudden hearing loss (SHL); however, its clinical feasibility in SHL has not been thoroughly investigated. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant GBE in the treatment of SHL. We used PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, China Biomedical Database for literature research, starting from inception to 30 June 2022. The key terms: Ginkgo biloba extract, Sudden Sensorineural Deafness. This meta-analysis contained randomized controlled trials that compared the safety and efficacy of the combination of GBE and general treatments (GT) with GT alone for SHL. The extracted data were analyzed using Revman5.4 software with risk ratio (RR), 95% confidence intervals (CI) and mean difference (MD). Our meta-analysis included 27 articles with a total of 2623 patients. The results revealed that the effects of GBE adjuvant therapy was superior than GT (total effective rate: RR = 1.22, 95% CI: 1.18–1.26, p < 0.00001), the pure tone hearing threshold (MD = 12.29, 95% CI: 11.74–12.85, p < 0.00001) and hemorheology indexes (whole blood high shear viscosity: MD = 1.46, 95% CI: 0.47–2.44, p = 0.004) after treatment were significantly improved compared to non-treatment, while there was no significant difference as for hematocrit (red blood cells) (MD = 4.15, 95% CI: −7.15–15.45, p = 0.47). This article aims to identify the main studies that research the relationship between defence spending and economic growth in a region, carried out on a large sample of 162 articles obtained from the Web of Science database, published between 1995 and 2019. By carrying out three analyses, descriptive, scientometric and content, the results have made it possible to identify the most outstanding characteristics of this relationship along with the main schools of thought. Furthermore, these can be grouped into one of the four proposed categories: positive relationship, negative, bidirectional or no relation at all. We provide a visual representation of the intellectual historiography and the conceptual content and dynamics of Balkan – Southeast European studies, identifying the most prominent works, the active research themes and the emerging trajectories in the field. Objectives: Hypoxia is a physiological state characterized by reduced oxygen levels in organs and tissues. It is a common clinicopathological process and a major cause of health problems in highland areas. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measure of the balance in autonomic innervation to the heart. It provides valuable information on the regulation of the cardiovascular system by neurohumoral factors, and changes in HRV reflect the complex interactions between multiple systems. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the relationship between high-altitude hypoxia and HRV. We summarize the different mechanisms of diseases caused by hypoxia and explore the changes in HRV across various systems. Additionally, we discuss relevant pharmaceutical interventions. Overall, this review aims to provide research ideas and assistance for in-depth studies on HRV. By understanding the intricate relationship between high-altitude hypoxia and HRV, we can gain insights into the underlying mechanisms and potential therapeutic approaches to mitigate the effects of hypoxia on cardiovascular and other systems. Methods: The relevant literature was collected systematically from scientific database, including PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Baidu Scholar, as well as other literature sources, such as classic books of hypoxia. Results: There is a close relationship between heart rate variability and high-altitude hypoxia. Heart rate variability is an indicator that evaluates the impact of hypoxia on the cardiovascular system and other related systems. By improving the observation of HRV, we can estimate the progress of cardiovascular diseases and predict the impact on other systems related to cardiovascular health. At the same time, changes in heart rate variability can be used to observe the efficacy of preventive drugs for altitude related diseases. Conclusions: HRV can be used to assess autonomic nervous function under various systemic conditions, and can be used to predict and monitor diseases caused by hypoxia at high altitude. Investigating the correlation between high altitude hypoxia and heart rate variability can help make HRV more rapid, accurate, and effective for the diagnosis of plateau-related diseases. The aim of this study was to develop a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production on inclusive education and physical education, focusing on productivity, topics and collaboration. Articles and reviews related to inclusive education and physical education published until 2018 in ERIC, PsycINFO, Scopus, SPORTDiscus and Web of Science databases were included. Regarding results, 664 documents published from 1969 to 2018 were discovered. Documents approaching from sociology (183) and focused on inclusive cultures (63.1%) were the most represented. The average percentage of collaboration was 76.96%. Block was the most productive author while Lieberman achieved the highest number of collaborators. Almost half of the scientific output was published in 13 journals, three of them specifically dedicated to adapted physical activity. In summary, the scientific production on inclusive education and physical education has been mainly published during the last decade, in collaboration, focused on inclusive cultures and playing social sciences a key role for studying it, reflecting the interests and approaches of scholars and their patterns of collaboration. The emergence of inclusive education from the social and political spheres, the misunderstanding of this concept and its low educational consolidation have contributed to an increasing production of studies about inclusive culture. This study reviews how empathy and its role are conceptualised in entrepreneurial and engineering literature. Our findings can then be used as a foundation for developing contextual and theoretical models of empathy for entrepreneurial engineering. These models will help create teaching practices and approaches to prepare empathic entrepreneurial engineers. The study deployed a systematic literature review of 40 papers from engineering and entrepreneurship fields, obtained from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The analysis involved three phases. First, a descriptive analysis of research on empathy in entrepreneurship and engineering was completed, followed by a content analysis focusing on definitions and the role of the empathy phenomenon and a co-citation analysis to identify commonly cited authors. The results of this literature review demonstrate different indicators that reflect the current state of empathy research and study trajectories of this phenomenon in the fields of engineering and entrepreneurship. These indicators include the number of papers related to empathy in engineering and entrepreneurship literature by year of publication, definitions of empathy and keywords used in analysed literature as well as list of authors and their area of interests within empathy research. Several studies have suggested that betaine is closely related to inflammatory biomarkers that contribute to the development of metabolic diseases, but the effect remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to assess the effects of betaine supplementation on inflammatory markers based on randomised controlled trials (RCTs). PubMed, Web of Science and ResearchGate databases were searched up to March 2023. A total of 6 RCTs with 7 intervention trials involving 277 participants were included. Betaine supplementation led to a slight reduction in levels of circulating IL-1β of 0.65 pg/mL (95% CI, −1.23 to −0.06) with high heterogeneity (I2 = 95%). Betaine produced a small but nonsignificant reduction in levels of circulating CRP (0.33 mg/L; 95% CI, −1.79 to 1.14), IL-6 (0.47 pg/mL; 95% CI, −1.13 to 0.18) and TNF-α (0.25 pg/mL; 95% CI, −0.98 to 0.48). The flipped classroom method has recently become popular in biology education. However, there is a lack of systematic and quantitative assessments on the efficiency of teaching medical microbiology using this novel approach. In this study, we performed a meta-analysis to explore the flipped classroom method's effects versus those of traditional lectures in medical microbiology education. Six electronic databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, ERIC, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, and Chinese Scientific Journals Database, were searched to obtain relevant articles from the first publication on this topic up to March 2021. Study selection, data extraction, and quality estimations were conducted to analyse the effects. A total of 13 studies were included in this meta-analysis, with the results revealing a significantly improved effect within the flipped classroom model on students' theoretical [SMD = 0.56, 95% CI (0.28, 0.84), p < 0.0001] and practical examination scores [SMD = 0.70, 95% CI (0.19, 1.20), p = 0.007]. In terms of its teaching effects, the flipped classroom approach improves students' learning interest, self-study abilities, knowledge mastery, and satisfaction, but does exacerbate their learning burden. The flipped classroom method possesses multiple advantages when compared to traditional lectures in medical microbiology education, but does increase the burden experienced by students. The importance of the “gut–liver axis” in the pathogenesis of liver diseases has been revealed recently; which promotes the process of developing preventive and therapeutic strategies. However, considering that there are still many challenges in the medical treatment of liver diseases, potential preventive dietary intervention may be a good alternative choice. Plant-based foods have received much attention due to their reported health-promoting effects in targeting multiple pathways involved in the pathogenesis of liver diseases as well as the relative safety for general use. Based on the PubMed and Web of Science databases, this review emphatically summarizes the plant-based foods and their chemical constituents with reported effects to impact the LPS/TLR4 signaling pathway of gut–liver axis of various liver diseases, reflecting their health benefits in preventing/ alleviating liver diseases. Moreover, some plant-based foods with potential gut–liver effects are specifically analyzed from the reported studies and conclusions. This review intends to provide readers an overview of the current progress in the field of this research topic. Sleep is the elixir of life. Both healthy populations and patients with chronic diseases experience sleep disturbances in their lifetime. Pharmacological agents to induce sleep in individuals with sleep disturbances pose side effects like tolerance and dependence, warranting the development of alternative non-pharmacological interventions with less or no adverse effects. However, deciphering comprehensive evidence on the translational potential of these alternative therapies remains difficult. In the current paper, we systematically reviewed the recent literature on the effect of non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) on improving sleep quality in both healthy and diseased populations experiencing sleep disturbances. We searched PubMed, Science Direct, Cochrane Controlled Trials, and Web of Science databases from inception to June 2022 for randomized controlled trials and cohort studies evaluating the sleep quality of individuals. We performed a meta-analysis using the random effects model with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) as an outcome measure to evaluate the effect of five distinct NPIs on sleep quality in normal and people with different medical conditions. Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses were done for heterogeneity analysis and to check the consistency of results, respectively. In 16 trials reporting on 1885 subjects, that all NPIs like Resistance Training (SMD −0.29, 95% CI −0.64 to 0.05; p = 0.09); Yoga (SMD −0.48, 95% CI −0.72 to −0.25; p < 0.0001); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (SMD −1.69, 95% CI −2.70 to −0.68; p = 0.001); Music (SMD −1.42, 95% CI −1.99 to −0.85; p < 0.00001); Light (SMD −0.43, 95% CI −0.77 to −0.09; p = 0.01) have substantially decreased the global PSQI scores. The findings of the randomized studies and a cohort study included in qualitative synthesis demonstrated that the global PSQI scores improved significantly as compared to the placebo groups. Despite the limitations of clinical heterogeneity in subjects, our results demonstrate a positive impact of the studied NPIs on sleep quality in individuals experiencing sleep disturbances. However, comprehensive double-blinded controlled trials are indispensable in the future, emphasizing the objective sleep quality and inter-individual differences in response to the intervention. To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of the method of placing the distal stent opening above the duodenal papilla (hereinafter referred to Above method) for endoscopic retrograde stent internal drainage in MBO patients. PubMed, Embase, Web of science and Cochrane databases were searched to identify clinical studies comparing the stent distal opening mounted above the papilla and across the papilla (hereinafter referred to Across method), Comparison indicators included stent patency, stent occlusion rate, clinical success rate, overall complication rate, postoperative cholangitis rate, and overall survival. Revman5.4 software was used for meta-analysis, funnel plot and publication bias and Egger's test were completed by Stata14.0 software. A total of 11 clinical studies (8 case-control studies, 3 RCT studies) were included, with a total of 751 patients (318 cases in the Above group and 433 cases Across group). The overall patency of Above method was longer than that of Across method (HR = 0.60, 95%CI [0.46–0.78], p < 0.001). Subgroup analysis showed statistical difference using plastic stent (HR = 0.49, 95%CI [0.33,0.73], p < 0.001). Inversely, there didn't exist significant difference in which metal stent were adopted (HR= 0.74, 95%CI [0.46,1.18], p = 0.21). Similarly, there also without statistical difference between patients with plastic stent placed above the papilla and metal stent mounted Across the papilla (HR = 0.73, 95%CI [0.15,3.65], p = 0.70). Moreover, the overall complication rate of the Above method was lower than that of the Across method (OR = 0.48,95%CI [0.30,0.75], p = 0.002). Fish and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) have been suggested to play a role in improving cancer prognosis. However, results from epidemiological studies remain inconsistent. Here we assess the association between dietary fish and/or omega-3 PUFAs intake and cancer prognosis with meta-analysis of observational studies. A systematic search of related publications was performed using PubMed and Web of Science databases. Hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were extracted and then pooled using a random-effect model. Potential linear and non-linear dose-response relationships were explored using generalized least squares estimation and restricted cubic splines. As a result, 21 cohort studies were included in our analysis. Compared to the lowest category, the highest category of fish intake was associated with a significant lower mortality in patients with ovarian cancer (n = 1, HR = 0.74, 95% CI: 0.57–0.95) and overall cancer (n = 12, HR = 0.87, 95% CI: 0.81–0.94). Marine omega-3 PUFAs intake rather than total omega-3 PUFAs intake showed significant protective effects on survival of overall cancer (n = 8, HR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.71–0.94), in particular prostate cancer (n = 2, HR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.46–0.82). Dose-response meta-analysis indicated a nonlinear and a linear relationship between fish intake, as well as marine omega-3 PUFAs intake, and overall cancer survival, respectively. Since 2010, a remarkable number of literature reviews on teacher identity has been published. These literature reviews address a wide range of different foci, e.g., school teachers' identity, higher education teachers' identity, or the identity of teachers teaching a specific subject such as science. So far, these literature reviews have not been systematically compared for similarities and differences to gain a deeper understanding of what key features characterise teachers' identities in general and what key features are specific for the identity of teachers teaching science or science-related subjects. To address this research gap, we conducted a meta-review of 24 literature reviews on teacher identity, which we identified in ERIC and the Web of Science databases. From the 24 reviews we extracted 30 key features of teacher identity. In addition, several of these key features are notably prevalent in literature reviews addressing the identity of teachers teaching science or science-related subjects, while others are less prevalent. Above all, these results strongly indicate that the identity of science teachers significantly differs from the identity of teachers of other subjects or of generalist teachers. Tetraclinis articulata is a medicinal plant distributed from northwestern Africa to southwestern Europe. This article reports previous investigations on T. articulata regarding its taxonomy, botanical description, geographical distribution, traditional use, phytochemistry, biological effects, toxicology, nutritional value, and economic interest. The search of data was based on several scientific databases such as Scopus, Wiley Online, Web of Science, Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, SciFinder, and SpringerLink. Indeed, several biological activities were reported for T. articulata extracts and EOs, including antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, anticorrosion, cytotoxic, insecticidal, leishmanicidal, larvicidal, anti-inflammatory, antidiarrheal, vasorelaxant, and protective activities. Moreover, some toxicological reports indicated that T. articulata does not present any toxicity. However, other investigations regarding the toxicity, the pharmacokinetic and the pharmacodynamics of T. articulata and its major bioactive compounds are required to validate its pharmacological use. T. articulata also contains some nutritional elements such as mineral compounds, sugar and proteins which could indicate its potential use in the nutraceutical field. All these properties to T. articulata attributed a major economic interest which is used actually in the manufacture of luxury varnishes, pharmaceutical products and in other industrial uses, it is also used in powder form to prepare the surface of certain paper. Substances with modulatory capabilities on certain aspects of human cognition have been revered as nootropics from the dawn of time. The plant kingdom provides most of the currently available nootropics of natural origin. Here, in this systematic review, we aim to provide state-of-the-art information regarding proven and unproven effects of plant-derived nootropics (PDNs) on human cognition in conditions of health and disease. Six independent searches, one for each neurocognitive domain (NCD), were performed in parallel using three independent scientific library databases: PubMed, Cochrane and Scopus. Only scientific studies and systematic reviews with humans published between January 2000 and November 2021 were reviewed, and 256 papers were included. Ginkgo biloba was the most relevant nootropic regarding perceptual and motor functions. Bacopa monnieri improves language, learning and memory. Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) modulates anxiety and social-related cognitions. Caffeine enhances attention and executive functions. Together, the results from the compiled studies highlight the nootropic effects and the inconsistencies regarding PDNs that require further research. Biofortified foods are a new approach to increase minerals in the diet, and evidence suggests that zinc (Zn) biofortification can improve Zn physiological status in humans. This systematic review aimed to answer the question: "What are the effects of the consumption of Zn biofortified foods on Zn status in humans?". This review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines and registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021250566). PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus and Science Direct databases were searched for studies that evaluated the effects of Zn biofortified foods on Zn absorption. Of 4282 articles identified, nine remained after inclusion/exclusion criteria were applied. Limitations in study quality, external and internal validity (bias/confounding), and study power were evaluated. The Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) was used to assess the certainty of evidence. Of the nine articles included, five observed an increase in total Zn absorption, and one showed that Zn participated in the conversion of linoleic acid to dihomo-γ-linolenic acid. By increasing the amount of Zn in the food, Zn biofortification can reduce the phytate:Zn molar ratio and improve Zn absorption in humans. vitamin D deficiency is a worldwide health problem. However, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in Asian populations is unclear. The aims of our study were to investigate the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with different health outcomes in Asia. Searches for studies published from January 2009 to January 2021 were performed in the MeDLiNe (via PubMed), eMBASe, and web of Science databases. This study was registered in the PROSPeRO database (CRD42021229841). in total, 472 studies with 746,564 subjects were included in the meta-analysis. The mean serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) concentration was 49.39 nmol/L; 20.93% of the participants had 25(OH)D levels <25 nmol/L, 22.82% had levels <30 nmol/L, 57.69% had levels <50 nmol/L, and 76.85% had levels <75 nmol/L. This review found that the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in Asia is high. The factors significantly related to vitamin D deficiency were gender, age, altitude, region, and specific diseases (diabetes, cancer, fracture, systemic lupus erythematosus [SLe], fatty liver disease, osteopenia, thyroiditis, anemia, hepatitis, metabolic diseases, and dermatitis). The purpose of this article is to map the state-of-art of entropy, a knowledge domain which has drawn a great interest of researchers from a variety of academic fields in modern times. The journal Entropy, which focuses completely on entropy and is therefore regarded as the most prominent journal, has been purposefully chosen for this study in order to examine the intellectual structure of the field. Data from the Web of Science database for the years 2008 through 2021 were gathered. Scientometric indicators, literature growth, co-authorship, co-citation, keyword co-occurrences, co-word, citation, and bibliographic coupling, are studied using VOS Viewer. Highly cited papers, most prolific authors, countries and institutions are also identified. The results of the study admit that the linear growth trend of entropy articles has increased over the course of the investigation. Highest number of the publications were contributed from China, and the institution that contributed the most articles was the Chinese Academy of Sciences. A cluster analysis of the keywords shows that the research hotspots are primarily focused on "entropy," with the highest frequency and link strength. Background: Circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) has demonstrated robust diagnostic accuracy in several digestive cancers. However, the prognostic role of ctCDNA in gastric cancer (GC) is still controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of ctDNA in GC. Methods: PubMed, Web of Science and Cochrane databases were searched to identify studies reporting the use of ctDNA to predict GC outcome and all relevant studies published until November 2022 were enrolled for our analysis. Data were extracted by two authors independently and statistic analysis was conducted by R program with 'meta' and 'metafor' packages. Results: A total of 34 qualified articles with 5091 subjects were incorporated into our meta-analysis. The corresponding Hazard ratio (HR) of overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were 2.74 (95% CI:2.24–3.35), 3.13 (95% CI:2.08–4.72) and 3.04 (95% CI:2.46–3.76), respectively, in GC patients. Conclusion: Blood-based ctDNA assay would be a potential novel biomarker for GC evaluation and prediction. The minimum and the adequate number of participants in experiments with maps can vary significantly according to the characteristics of the participants, the maps, and especially the test's purpose. In this sense, the estimation of the adequate number of participants employed in carrying out tests involving map users bases the problem of this research. Delayed wound healing in diabetes mellitus (DM) is due to the overlapping phases of the healing process. The prolonged inflammation and altered levels of inflammatory cytokines lead to deformed cell proliferation. Photobiomodulation alleviates the expression of inflammatory cytokines and promotes tissue repair, thereby restoring the wound healing process. To find out the effect of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) in the healing dynamics of diabetic wounds with particular emphasis on interleukin-6, interleukin-1β, and tumour necrosis factor-α. Scientific databases searched using keywords of the population: DM, intervention: PBMT, and outcomes: inflammatory cytokines. We have included five preclinical studies in the present systematic review for qualitative analysis. These studies evaluated the effect of PBMT at different wavelengths, dosage, and time on wound healing in DM. Tourism offering well-being practices in nature has increased exponentially in recent years. The scientific interest in this subject has also grown at a similar rate, from both a theoretical and a methodological perspective. We present a bibliometric analysis using the search terms "tourism", "well-being", and "nature" disclosed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Combining quantitative and visual methods, we analyse 443 records on this topic according to seven items: productivity evolution, overlapping, geographical distribution, research areas, most important keywords, main sources, and most cited articles. As the most widely used tool for assessing dietary intake, the validity of food frequency questionnaires (FFQs) should be evaluated before application. A comprehensive search of the PubMed and Web of Science databases was conducted for publications from January 2000 to April 1, 2020. Pooled estimates were calculated for correlation coefficients and mean differences for energy and 61 nutrients between FFQs and standard methods. The literature search identified 130 articles that included 21,494 participants. Subgroup analyses according to the number of administrations of the reference method, sample size, administration methods, FFQ items, reference periods, quality of the studies, gender, and regions were also performed. We conducted a meta-analysis by summarizing the available evidence to comprehensively assess the validity of FFQs stratified by the reference method type (24-hour recall (24HRs) and food records (FRs). We also performed subgroup analyses to examine the impact on the final summary estimates. After a meta-analysis of the FFQs' validity correlation coefficients of the included studies, this study showed that the range (median) of the validity coefficients of the 24HRs as reference methods was 0.220–0.770 (0.416), and for the FRs, it was 0.173–0.735 (0.373), which indicated that FFQs were suitable to assess the overall dietary intake in nutritional epidemiological studies. The results of the subgroup analysis showed that the number of administrations of the reference method, administration mode, number of items, reference periods, sample size, and gender mainly affected the validity correlation of FFQs. The prevalence of diabetic neuropathy is drastically increasing in the world. To halt the progression of diabetic neuropathy, there is an unmet need to have potential biomarkers for the diagnosis and new drug discovery. The genus Ziziphora of the family Lamiaceae is well known for the medicinal properties of its species. Ziziphora persica is an edible medicinal plant, which is widely distributed in countries of Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Azaerbaidzhan and is famed as a wild vegetable with notable aroma and flavor. In Iranian folk medicine, Ziziphora species has been also used as infusions for various purposes such as sedative, stomachic and carminative among others. The genus Ziziphora belongs to the Lamiaceae family consists of four species (Z. clinopodioides, Z. capitata, Z. persica and Z. tenuior) that widespread all over Iran. Ziziphora with common Persian name 'kakuti-e kuhi' comprised nine subspecies native to Iran. The composition and antibacterial and antioxidant activity of the essential oil and various extracts of Ziziphora persica were reported. This review presents and overview on the Eco-phytochemistry and Ethnobotany knowledge of Ziziphora persica and provides a deeper insight into phytochemistry of this specie. Fatigue is a common problem for adults with cerebral palsy (CP) and may be related to the decline in physical function, including the loss of the ability to walk. To estimate the overall prevalence of fatigue in adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy. MEDLINE (OVID), EMBASE (OVID), CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Web of Science electronic databases were searched in September 2021. The review protocol was registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO), registration CRD42021275596. Two authors independently screened studies according to Preferred Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, and the methodological quality of included studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Prevalence Critical Appraisal Checklist. Of the 1022 studies identified, fifteen met the inclusion criteria. Study quality assessment was performed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Prevalence Critical Appraisal Checklist, with scores ranging from 4 out of 10 to 10 out of 10. Pooled prevalence estimates for twelve studies were 52.9% (95% confidence interval [CI]40.9–64.6). Fatigue was higher in people with bilateral CP than unilateral CP, and higher in people classified as Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) levels III-V. More than half of the adults with CP (52.9%) reported living with fatigue. Adults with CP frequently reported fatigue that may lead to activity limitations and/or restrictions. Fatigue was strongly correlated with pain, depression, and reduced quality of life. Country-specific estimates of the prevalence of refractive errors are important to formulate national eye health policies for refractive care services. The purpose of this study was to systematically synthesise available literature and estimate the prevalence of refractive errors in the Nepalese population. PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were systematically searched for articles on refractive errors and presbyopia published in English language until 27 September 2022. Population and school-based quantitative, cross-sectional prevalence studies and Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness survey repository data were included. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Newcastle Ottawa scale adapted for cross-sectional studies. Data extraction was performed with consensus among the reviewers. Meta-analysis of the prevalence was performed using the Random effects model to estimate the pooled proportions. A total of 38 studies with 101 701 participants were included: 18 studies in children (n = 31 596) and 20 in adults (n = 70 105). In children, the estimated pooled prevalence of overall refractive errors was 8.4% (95% CI: 4.8 to 12.9) with myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism prevalent in 7.1% (95% CI: 3.7 to 11.4), 1.0% (95% CI: 0.7 to 1.3) and 2.2% (95% CI: 0.9 to 3.9), respectively. In adults, the prevalence of refractive errors, uncorrected refractive errors, and uncorrected presbyopia were 11.2% (95% CI: 8.0 to 14.9), 7.3% (95% CI: 5.4 to 9.5) and 78.9% (95% CI: 69.1 to 87.3), respectively. The pooled prevalence of refractive errors is relatively low while uncorrected refractive errors and presbyopia are high in Nepalese population suggesting a need for better access to refractive care services in the country. The paucity of quality evidence on prevalence of refractive errors, particularly in children, indicates a need for a well-designed population-based study to accurately estimate the current prevalence of refractive errors. To evaluate the value of the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in predicting preeclampsia (PE) in pregnant women. PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases were searched for observational studies (cohort, case-control or cross-sectional) that reported pre-treatment maternal PLR values in women with and without PE. The analysis was done using a random effects model. Pooled effect sizes were reported as weighted mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) was used to evaluate the risk of bias. Twenty-five studies with 7755 patients were included in this meta-analysis. PLR was comparable in patients with PE and healthy pregnant women (WMD −2.97; 95% CI: −11.95 to 6.02; N = 16). Patients with mild (WMD −3.00; 95% CI: −17.40 to 11.41; N = 12) and severe PE (WMD −5.77; 95% CI: −25.48 to 13.94; N = 14) had statistically similar PLR, compared to healthy controls. Our findings show similar PLR in PE and healthy pregnancies. PLR, therefore, may not be used to differentiate between PE and normal pregnancy or for assessing the severity of PE. The majority of included studies were case-control, potentially introducing bias, and we identified evidence of publication bias as well. This study assessed the use of the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) for the prediction of preeclampsia (PE) in pregnant women. After reviewing 25 studies involving 7755 pregnant women, the researchers found that PLR values were similar in women with PE and those with healthy pregnancies. Additionally, PLR did not differ significantly in cases of mild or severe PE, compared to healthy pregnancies. This study concluded that the PLR may not a reliable predictor for PE in pregnant women, nor can it be used to assess the severity of PE. Previous studies evaluating the relationship between blood manganese (Mn) level and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in pregnant women showed inconsistent results. A systematic review and meta-analysis was therefore performed to investigate the above association. Relevant observational studies were obtained by search of electronic databases including Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science from database inception to 10 March 2023. Two authors independently performed database search, literature identification and data extraction. A randomised-effects model was selected to pool the data by incorporating the influence of potential heterogeneity. Subgroup analysis was performed to evaluate the influence of study characteristics on the results of the meta-analysis. Six datasets from five observational studies, involving 91,249 pregnant women were included in the meta-analysis. Among the participants, 3597 (3.9%) were diagnosed as GDM. Overall, pooled results showed that a high blood level of Mn was associated with a higher risk of GDM (compared between women with highest versus lowest category blood Mn, odds ratio: 1.31, 95% confidence interval: 1.19–1.44, p <.001) with no significant heterogeneity (p for Cochrane Q-test = 0.93, I2 = 0%). Subgroup analyses according to study design, mean maternal age, matrix or methods for measuring blood Mn, and the incidence of GDM also showed consistent results (p for subgroup difference all >.05). Results of the meta-analysis suggest that a high blood Mn level may be a risk factor of GDM in pregnant women. Studies are needed to determine the underlying mechanisms, and to investigate if the relationship between blood Mn level and GDM is dose-dependent. Changes of blood manganese (Mn) have been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes. However, the relationship between blood Mn level and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in pregnant women remains undetermined. Our study represents the first systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the potential association between blood Mn concentration and the risk of GDM. In this meta-analysis, we pooled the results of six datasets from five observational and showed that compared to pregnant women with the lowest category of blood Mn level, those with the highest category of blood Mn level were associated with a higher risk of GDM. To investigate the role and influence of apraxia regarding dementia severity in Alzheimer's disease (AD). In addition, to examine whether apraxia or its association to dementia severity show distinct characteristics between typical and atypical variants of AD, that commonly include frontal, logopenic, posterior, and Down's syndrome variant. The search conducted on 4 December 2020 in the Cinahl, Ovid Medline, PsycArticles, PsycInfo, Scopus and Web of Science databases yielded 251 non-duplicate records published since 2000. Ten records examining the association between Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) scores and apraxia in AD were included in the review. Dementia severity was related to apraxia in AD, and the prevalence and severity of apraxia increased as dementia progressed. Constructional, ideomotor (imitation of meaningless gestures), orofacial, speech, gait, and total praxis, including constructional, ideomotor, and ideational praxis, tasks differentiated dementia severity in AD. In the atypical variants of AD apraxia occurred frequently but because of the small number of participants, no statistical analyses were available. The results highlight the need for extensive assessment of AD severity, and praxis assessment throughout the disease course. Apraxia affects the independent functioning and communication of the patient, tool use, and the ability to perform activities of daily living. Apraxia occurs frequently in AD and other neurodegenerative diseases, and apraxia assessment has shown to differentiate AD from other neurodegenerative diseases, particularly frontotemporal dementia. Prenatal ultrasound has been regularly used as the screening tool for agenesis of corpus callosum (ACC) of the fetuses, which were mainly suspected on the basis of indirect signs rather than the visualization of the CC. However, the diagnostic accuracy of prenatal ultrasound for ACC, compared to the gold standard of postmortem diagnosis or postnatal images, is still unknown. This meta-analysis was performed to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy of prenatal ultrasound for the diagnosis of ACC. Studies evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of prenatal ultrasound for ACC compared to postmortem diagnosis or postnatal images were retrieved by searching PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Pooled sensitivity and specificity were calculated with a random-effects model. The diagnostic accuracy was measured by summarized area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUC) curve. Twelve studies involving 544 fetuses with suspected anomalies of central nervous system were included, and 143 of them were with validated diagnosis of ACC. Pooled results showed that prenatal ultrasound has satisfying diagnostic efficacy for ACC, with the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative likelihood ratios of 0.72 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.39–0.91), 0.98 (95% CI: 0.79–1.00), 43.73 (95% CI: 3.42–558.74, and 0.29 (95% CI: 0.11–0.74), respectively. The pooled AUC was 0.94 (95% CI: 0.92–0.96), suggesting good diagnostic performance of prenatal ultrasound. Subgroup analysis according to the prenatal ultrasound procedures showed a better diagnostic efficacy of neurosonography than that of regular ultrasound screening (sensitivity: 0.84 versus 0.57, specificity: 0.98 versus 0.89, and AUC: 0.97 versus 0.78). Based on the Web of Science core database and using bibliometric analysis method, this study analysed 2,680 papers on rice and greenhouse gas topic research till to 22 July 2022, which included 47 highly cited papers and one hot paper, mainly written in English and from 10,116 authors, 2,594 organisations and 111 countries or territories, published in 517 journals and four book series. The top five journals are Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Agriculture and Ecosystems Environment, Environmental Science and Pollution Research and Sustainability. The top five countries were Peoples R China, U.S.A., India, Germany and Japan. The top five organisations were the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Agricultural University, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, CGIAR and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, each with more than 126 papers. The top four authors were Wassmann Reiner, Pan Genxing, Smith Pete and Cao Cougui. All keywords were separated into 10 clusters with co-occurrence network visualisation using VOSviewer, and the research front was shown by co-occurrence overlay visualisation. Using bibliometric methods, this report analysed the volumes of global forest research and research collaboration between researchers, institutes and countries during the period 2010–2019. The keywords used in the bibliometric search resulted in a good match with the publication lists of three major Finnish forest research organisations. The final corpus of "forest" publications consisted of 355,000 articles, proceeding papers, reviews, books, book chapters and letters listed in the Web of Science database. During 2010–2019, the volume of Finnish publications in forest sciences have increased and the share of internationally collaborative papers has also grown. However, the international position of Finnish and Nordic forest research is slowly declining, owing to the modest growth in publishing, compared to fast-growing countries like China and Russia. When comparing Finnish and Swedish research organisations, those from Sweden were more internationally oriented. In both countries, the five top institutes produced more than three quarters of their country's respective publications. Analyses based on bibliometric data used in this study reveal the status regarding publication output and trends. The abundance of research in the field of sustainable marketing management necessitates a comprehensively integrated knowledge about the topic. This study aims to map all scientific publications related to sustainability marketing from a firm perspective as collected from the Web of Science database (1900–2021), and subsequently identify potential future research directions. The bibliometric method, particularly bibliographic coupling, is used to describe the evolution over time of research on the topic. Also, the networks and intellectual structures of sustainability marketing management research are visualized and analyzed by VOS viewer algorithm/software. Based on a final list of 606 selected journal articles extracted from the initial 777,577 retrieved items, the bibliographic coupling analysis reveals six clusters within the research field: "sustainable green marketing and design: system perspective," "sustainability assessment and firm performance," "social sustainability in the dynamic model and mechanism," "strategic CSR, corporate sustainability integration and performance," "impacts of social and environmental sustainability on economic sustainability," and "environmental sustainability and green management for multinational enterprises." This study provides insight into the most substantive up-to-date contributions to the field, herein referred to as state-of-the-art thematic topics in sustainability marketing management, thus stipulating fruitful future research avenues for a more developed research community. Natural coloring agents obtained from plants, insects, animals, and minerals are used to color faces, hairs, textiles, and food preparations for centuries. This current review explained the role of traditional natural coloring agents in ancient times. It encompasses the advantages of natural dyes over synthetic dyes, their classification, and medicinal properties. The objective of review is to provide a retrospective study of natural colors for fibers based on their therapeutic potential. For the preparation of this manuscript, all the relevant information was gathered from accessible and inaccessible resources (Web, Books, Thesis, etc.). The information included in the article was downloaded from scientific engines and databases (Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scifinder, Science Direct, Publons, Wiley Online Library, PubMed, Taylor & Francis online and Scopus indexed journals) using different keywords. Natural coloring agents like Carica papaya, curcumin, betalain, quercetin, lycopene, lawsone, crocin, juglone, anthocyanin, and several others are reported to have medicinal values. The present review summarizes the application of natural dyes for coloring fibers and pharmaceutical preparations is beneficial over synthetic dyes based on their additional therapeutic effects.
