The article highlights cases of rent overcharge in New York City as of April 2016. These include the failure of the landlord to apply timely Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) increases, a case wherein the landlord relied on a Rent Stabilization Code (RSC) provision allowing him to charge a first rent that was not based on any preceding rental history, and a case wherein the Dispute Resolution Association (DRA) reduced the base date rent.
