Abstract
The article discusses managed aquifer recharge (MAR), an umbrella-term for a range of technologies. Topics discussed include elements of MAR such as source water, pretreatment, and recharge facilities, the 8th International Symposium on managed aquifer recharge (ISMAR8) in Beijing, China on the application and value of MAR, and papers included in the conference. An overview of articles published within the issue is also presented.

Abstract
The article discusses the highlights of the International Academic Conference on Underground Space held on November 18-19, 2006 in Beijing, China, organized by the China Civil Engineering Society (CCES), Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) and Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC). The conferences features academic paper communication, an exhibition on urban underground space planning, and an exhibition on examples of large urban underground spaces.
The article focuses on developments related to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) across the world. The ASCE Japan International Section celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2008. The 10th International Symposium on Landslides and Engineered Slopes was held in Xi'an China from June 30 to July 4, 2008, Information on the World Urban Transport Leaders Summit 2008, is presented.
The article focuses on developments related to agreements of cooperation of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Information on the Institution of Structural Engineers' (IStructE) Young Structural Engineer of the Year 2008 award is provided. The International Conference on Waste Engineering and Management (ICWEM) will be held in Hong Kong, China from May 28-30, 2008. The 10th International Symposium on Landslides and Engineered Slopes will be held in China from June 30-July 4, 2008.

Abstract
The article discusses the highlights of the paper "A Bridge of Glass" presented at the International Conference on Bridge Engineering held in November 2006 in Hong Kong organized by the civil division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Designs for the cable-stayed bridge being planned for the Hai He River in Tianjin in China were presented by Hyder Consulting Ltd.
The article offers information on the meeting of Region 10 Board of Governors in Hong Kong and Macau in China, held on January 16-17, 2010. Three interim governors including Pratim Ghose from Thailand, Constantine Memos from Greece, and Mostafa Soliman from Egypt, were appointed in the conference to revive the inoperative international sections and groups in their sub-regions. Several notable people participated in the meeting include Treasurer Emmanuel Adeyemo, and Secretary Himansu Banerjee.
