This article discusses the synthesis and characterization of cannabinoid ethers, which are analogs of cannabinoids that are being marketed to the public. The lack of proper testing and characterization of these analogs is a concern, as companies may misrepresent their products and consumers may unknowingly consume unknown research compounds. The authors performed in-silico docking studies to analyze the binding interactions of eight cannabinoid ethers with CB1 and CB2 receptors. They also synthesized and characterized methyl ether derivatives of Delta 8-tetrahydrocannabinol (D8-THC) and hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The study aims to provide information on the potential toxicities and effects of these analogs in an ever-changing market. [Extracted from the article]
