Abstract
- Restaking services on the Ethereum blockchain, where investors can earn additional yield on their cryptocurrency, could potentially lead to the development of an "internet bond" market, according to S&P Global Ratings. Restaking involves compounding rewards by reinvesting them into other protocols, similar to lending out securities in fixed-income markets. While there are currently only a few active restaking services, their growth is anticipated. The risks associated with restaking are primarily operational and unique to each service, but financial risks could arise due to speculation. However, S&P does not currently foresee significant ecosystem-level financial risk. [Extracted from the article]
