This special issue of Rangeland Ecology and Management is dedicated to applying the Sagebrush Conservation Design (SCD) to improve conservation outcomes across the sagebrush biome in the face of pervasive ecosystem threats. This special issue provides new science and real-world examples of how we can implement the SCD to save a biome. The SCD is a tool to identify intact sagebrush areas and address the largest threats to the ecosystem. The SCD focuses on first protecting intact and functioning sagebrush ecosystems, called Core Sagebrush Areas, then works outward toward more degraded areas (i.e., “Defend the Core”). The premise behind the Defend the Core approach is simple: focus resources first on preventative actions that retain ecosystem services in Core Sagebrush Areas because they are more cost-effective and more likely to be successful. The opening article of this special issue creates a foundation for the 19 following papers, providing a coherent path for implementing the SCD. The overarching themes are: 1) Business-As-Usual Won't Save the Sagebrush Sea, 2) Better Spatial Targeting Can Improve Outcomes, 3) Conservation Planning is Needed to Develop Realistic Business Plans, 4) Targeted Ecosystem Management: Monitoring Shows Managing for Sagebrush Ecological Integrity is Working, 5) Maintaining Sagebrush Ecological Integrity is Ecologically Relevant, and 6) There is Only Hope if We Manage Change. The collective articles show that there is no shared plan to save the biome, yet a business plan for the biome could ensure realistic goals. The sagebrush biome still has vast expanses of open spaces with high ecological integrity at a scale that is rare in other ecological systems within the lower 48 states. If we focus on the common ground of the main drivers of ecosystem change, implementing the SCD and Defending the Core are viable strategies to help save a biome.

For nearly a century, invasive annual grasses have increasingly impacted terrestrial ecosystems across the western United States. Weather variability associated with climate change and increased atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) are making even more difficult the challenges of managing invasive annual grasses. As part of a special issue on climate change impacts on soil and water conservation, the topic of invasive annual grasses is being addressed by scientists at the USDA Agricultural Research Service to emphasize the need for additional research and future studies that build on current knowledge and account for (extreme) changes in abiotic and biotic conditions. Much research has focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying annual grass invasion, as well as assessing patterns and responses from a wide range of disturbances and management approaches. Weather extremes and the increasing occurrences of wildfire are contributing to the complexity of the problem. In broad terms, invasive annual grass management, including restoration, must be proactive to consider human values and ecosystem resiliency. Models capable of synthesizing vast amounts of diverse information are necessary for creating trajectories that could result in the establishment of perennial systems. Organization and collaboration are needed across the research community and with land managers to strategically develop and implement practices that limit invasive annual grasses. In the future, research will need to address invasive annual grasses in an adaptive integrated weed management (AIWM) framework that utilizes models and accounts for climate change that is resulting in altered/new approaches to management and restoration.

The increased difference in tax treatment between capital gains and ordinary income in the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 necessitates greater scrutiny of transactions involving IRC sections 1245 or 1250 depreciation recapture. Normal tax-free or deferral producing provisions can result in recognition of income or additional income in the cases of involuntary conversions and like-kind exchanges. Transactions between corporations and partnerships can result in recognition of ordinary income rather than capital gains.

An examination of both prior case law and the recent decision of the Sixth Circuit in Razavi to determine how rental agreements should be structured between owners and management companies to provide the greatest flexibility for taxpayers. In addition, the ramifications of Razavi will be examined not only in the context of Section 280A, but also in the context of other limitations.

The acquisition of property from a decedent can be very beneficial if the property has accrued value since it was purchased because the gain is not subject to federal income tax. IRC section 1014 makes the estate tax value basis equal to the fair market value at the decedent's death, the value at an alternative date under section 2032 or the special-use valuation under section 2032A. Therefore, the increase in basis is transferred to the beneficiary without income tax liability, making section 1014 a useful estate planning tool.

Further clarification will be needed on tax deductions for home offices even though the US Supreme Court created guidelines in Soliman v. Commissioner. The Court instituted a facts-and-circumstances test to replace the focal point test for determination of the validity of home office deduction claims. However, the application of the Court's guidelines is still uncertain due to the need for comparative analyses of time spent at differing work sites., Although the Supreme Court's decision in Soliman has established some guidelines as to whether a home office will qualify as a taxpayer's principal place of business, it is unclear how those guidelines will be applied.

Chylothorax is a potentially life-threatening disorder that has profound respiratory, nutritional, and immunologic consequences. Treatment for this problem is controversial, and the results have been variable. From 1985 to 1990, 29 patients (16 males, 13 females; mean age: 20.1 years; range: 5 days to 76.8 years) were diagnosed as having chylothorax (18 right, 6 left, 5 bilateral). Etiologies included surgical trauma (26) and nonsurgical trauma (3). Initial conservative treatment consisted of tube thoracostomy drainage (mean duration: 13.3 days; range: 1 to 62 days; mean total volume: 4,030 mL) and dietary modification (low-fat diet, total parenteral nutrition). This resulted in resolution of the chylothorax in 23 patients (79% success), although 2 patients died of unrelated causes while hospitalized (myocardial infarction and cardiopulmonary arrest). Five adult patients and one infant (21%) required ligation of the thoracic duct, with resolution of the chylothorax in all six (100% success). Despite successful duct closure, one infant died of respiratory failure unrelated to the operation, and one adult died as the result of a cerebrovascular accident 6 weeks postoperatively, yielding an operative mortality of 33% and an overall mortality of 14% (4 of 29). Our experience demonstrates that initial treatment of chylothorax with thoracostomy drainage and dietary modification is successful in the majority of patients and is not associated with high morbidity or mortality rates. Surgical intervention for chylothoraces that fail to respond to initial conservative measures will be required in a minority of patients but appears to be associated with a higher risk of complications.

Treasury regulation s 25.2702-6 prevents double taxation on trust transfers under IRC section 2702 but can also be used for the same purpose under section 2001(b). The regulation provides a computational methodology to downwardly adjust prior taxable gifts that are included in the gross estate and can be used for many estate tax situations beyond the incomplete gift tax coverage of 2702. Some of these situations include transfers in trust that are included in the gross estate but still treated as completed gifts and transfers to non-family members when an interest is retained.

The Tax Reform Act of 1986 (TRA '86) made corporations liable to taxation for distributions of property in excess of the fair market value. TRA '86 repealed the rule against the double taxation of corporations for property distributions. Liquidating distribution, liquidating sale, and nonliquidating distribution of property are all recognized as forms of gain by corporations under TRA '86. However, the Technical and Miscellaneous Revenue Act of 1988 corrected TRA '86's rule concerning tax liability for distributions.

AbstractBackgroundOverdose education with naloxone distribution (OEND) is a key national strategy to reduce morbidity and mortality related to opioid overdoses. Train-the-trainer model has been one method to increase the pool of trainers to facilitate greater dissemination of OEND. This exploratory study seeks to (1) evaluate participant’s change in knowledge and confidence, (2) examine if pre- and post-training test outcomes differed by occupation and level of experience, and (3) determine if train-the-trainer participants trained others 6 months later. Methods:Fifteen train-the-trainer sessions were delivered to staff from community organizations who served high-risk clients in four counties whose overdose death rates ranged from 11.2 to 32.8 per 100,000. Participants were administered pre- and post-training tests from September 2017 to December 2018. A follow-up survey was conducted 6 months post-training to evaluate outcomes. Final paired pre-and post-training surveys of 109 participants were used for analysis. Paired sample t-tests were used to evaluate changes in the knowledge and confidence in teaching others. One-way ANOVA compared the change scores across groups with different demographic or experiential characteristics. Kruskal-Wallis Test was used for Likert scales. Results:The one and one-half hour train-the-trainer curriculum increased participants’ knowledge and confidence to teach others (p < .001). This was particularly true for participants who had no prior experience compared to those who had some experience with naloxone (p = .0003). Changes in confidence to teach others significantly improved among demographic subgroups of participants. At 6 months after completing the train-the-trainer curriculum, 14 participants had trained 243 new trainees. Conclusions:Implementing a train-the-trainer model for OEND increases knowledge and participants’ confidence to teach others. This demonstrates the important potential of the train-the-trainer model to respond to the growing opioid overdose epidemic.

ABSTRACTThe geology of the Saltville Valley in southwest Virginia creates a brine with an exceptionally high concentration of sodium chloride (98.7%). Because of this resource, the town of Saltville, Virginia, became the major producer of salt for the Confederacy during the latter half of the Civil War. The wood-fired salt furnaces (as the production facilities were called) produced a maximum of four million bushels of salt from this naturally occurring brine in 1864. However, these massive nineteenth-century furnaces are no longer standing. Industrial archaeology, with its goal of chronicling and preserving the history of industrial development, is used to document two of these salt furnaces—one (44SM280) in operation in the late eighteenth century when salt production was beginning, and the other (44SM139) in operation during the Civil War. Increasing size and sophistication in the exposed foundations of these structures is illustrated by the shift from predominantly stone-walled furnaces to later, larger structures with stacked brick walls. The size of the iron kettles used to cook the brine also increased to a 100-gallon capacity. These excavations corroborate historic descriptions of salt manufacture and provide important physical evidence of nineteenth-century industrial development.

Undesirable behaviours (UBs) are common in dogs and can jeopardise animal and human health, leading to dog abandonment and euthanasia. Dogs exhibiting UBs may have compromised welfare from underlying emotional motivations for the behaviour (eg anxiety) or from the methods used by owners to resolve the problem (eg aversive techniques). The objective of this study was to estimate proportional mortality due to UBs and risk factors for death due to UBs, including death from road traffic accidents, in dogs under three years of age attending primary-care veterinary practices in England from 2009-2014. Cases were identified by searching de-identified electronic patient records from primary-care veterinary practices participating in the VetCompass Programme. The findings highlight that dogs under three years of age are at a proportionately high risk of death due to UBs (33.7%) compared with other specific causes of death (eg gastrointestinal issues: 14.5%). Male dogs had 1.40× the odds of death from UB compared with females. The proportional mortality from UB for male dogs where information on the cause of death was available was 0.41. Neutered dogs had 1.94× the odds of death due to a UB compared with entire dogs. Aggression was the most prevalent UB overall. Veterinarians had recommended referral in 10.3% of cases where dogs died due to exhibiting a UB and had dispensed nutraceutical, pheromone or pharmacological treatment to 3.0% of the UB cases that died. This study shows that undesirable behaviours require better preventive measures and treatment, through further research and education of veterinarians, other professionals within the dog industry and owners. Construction engineering and management education in Central Europe, and its relationship to practice in the construction industry, have concepts that could benefit their counterparts in the United States. This paper first describes the system of education in Central European technical universities, then reviews curricula in four cases. University research practices are also examined and compared to U.S. counterparts, as is the role of academics in industry. While there are many similarities between the two systems, there is more technical content in European degree programs, but at the expense of liberal arts courses. They have more decentralized autonomy in budgeting and staffing, with larger staff sizes to support comparable numbers of faculty and students; but they have lower capital equipment budgets. Finally, characteristics of the Central European construction industry that support research and innovation are examined. These include top management's greater interest in technology and innovation, a comparative lack of the legal liability problems, a bid evaluation system which encourages contractors to submit design alternatives, inhouse contractor research laboratories, and a more cooperative contract administration climate.

A system is described that combines: 1 Videotape data collection from field construction operations; 2 statistical reduction and analysis of data; and 3 computerbased simulation modeling. As implemented, a videotape camera taken into the field records data about the logical relationships between, and the cycle times of, the various elements in ah operation. With the aid of a computer connected to a tape player, these data can be extracted from the tape and analyzed statistically to yield estimated values for the productivity of the system and its components. With the aid of a microcomputer, the user then can build a networkbased simulation model which replicates the performance of the realtime system. Integration of simulation with powerful and economical video methods of data acquisition, linked to a computer for data extraction and statistical analysis, makes it economically feasible to collect real data with which to develop and run simulation models, even for complex operations of short duration.

The potential for automated realtime data acquisition, process control and robotics for remote, largescale field operations, such as those on construction engineering projects, is addressed. Classifications of technologies for automation and robotics in such operations include hardwired instrumentation, remote sensing, analog and digital telecommunications, optical laser, infrared and fiberoptic data transmission, monitoring via microcomputerbased instrument control and data recording, onsite process control for fixed plants, partial or fully automatic control of mobile equipment, fixedbased manipulators, mobile robots, communications between onsite computers and automated machinery, electronic ranging and detection, and videoimage pattern recognition. Combining selected technologies with microcomputerbased software could facilitate analysis, design and control decisionmaking, and could provide a means of coordinating various discrete automated components or machines that must work together to perform field tasks. This paper also mentions categories of needs for such technologies on field operations, and potential barriers to implementation. Progress will depend on the interest and support of researchers qualified to advance this field.

Construction craft jurisdiction, normally exercised by unions, includes both territorial and technological claims to certain categories of work. Jurisdiction is important to unions in maintaining membership, negotiating wages and benefits, defining apprenticeship programs, and establishing work rules. This paper reports on a research project that had three main objectives: 1 Collect and analyze statistics on the incidence of jurisdictional disputes; 2 evaluate existing jurisdictional dispute settlement mechanisms; and 3 survey contractors and owners to determine the impact of craft jurisdictional practices not only disputes on costs and schedules. The paper concludes that there is inadequate statistical information at present to support informed decisionmaking on jurisdictional problems. Most dispute settlement mechanisms are antiquated and ineffective, but there are good plans in some local areas. The survey revealed that there are serious cost and schedule impacts on construction projects from observing craft jurisdictional practices.

The article discusses the calculation of the net investment income (NII) tax in the U.S. without outside investment advisory fees (OIAF) or tax-exempt income (TEI). Gross income from interest, dividends and annuities among others is the first type of gross income included in NII while another type of income included in NII is net gain coming from the disposition of property. OBJECTIVE:Previous studies investigating psychiatric comorbidity in eating disorder (ED) patients compared groups according to ED diagnoses. The current paper compared groups according to ED behaviours: self-induced vomiting, objective binge eating, excessive exercising, and to body mass index (BMI, kg/m2) for selected psychiatric comorbidity using two systems: Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders —Fourth Edition (DSM-IV) and International Classification of Diseases —Tenth Revision (ICD-10) diagnoses. METHOD:Two hundred and twenty-six patients admitted for treatment in a specialised Eating Disorders Unit completed the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI). Lifetime and recent (12 months) psychiatric diagnoses were produced according to DSM-IV and ICD-10. Associations between presence of ED behaviours or BMI and psychiatric comorbidity were investigated. RESULTS:Eighty-eight percent of patients had a lifetime history (72% recent history) of at least one comorbid diagnosis (regardless of diagnostic system). Agreement between the systems was high for mood (affective) disorders and moderate for anxiety/somatoform disorders. Significantly more patients who vomit had lifetime and recent mood (affective) disorders (DSM-IV and ICD-10). Significantly more ‘vomiters’ had recent anxiety disorders (DSM-IV) and neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders (ICD-10) including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD; DSM-IV and ICD-10). More patients with BMI >17.5 kg/m2had lifetime and recent mood (affective) disorders and lifetime PTSD (DSM-IV and ICD-10). The results for ‘excessive exercisers’ varied and appeared inconsistent. There were no differences in any disorders for objective binge eaters. DISCUSSION:Patients who induce vomiting have more psychiatric comorbidity than ‘non-vomiters’, both lifetime and recent, and may benefit from diagnostic recognition as a separate group, for example ‘vomiting’ or ‘purging’ ED, who can then receive specialist treatment for their comorbidity and associated problems.

The case for peptide-based drugs is compelling. Due to their chemical, physical and conformational diversity, and relatively unproblematic toxicity and immunogenicity, peptides represent excellent starting material for drug discovery. Nature has solved many physiological and pharmacological problems through the use of peptides, polypeptides and proteins. If nature could solve such a diversity of challenging biological problems through the use of peptides, it seems reasonable to infer that human ingenuity will prove even more successful. And this, indeed, appears to be the case, as a number of scientific and methodological advances are making peptides and peptide-based compounds ever more promising pharmacological agents. Chief among these advances are powerful chemical and biological screening technologies for lead identification and optimization, methods for enhancing peptide in vivo stability, bioavailability and cell-permeability, and new delivery technologies. Other advances include the development and experimental validation of robust computational methods for peptide lead identification and optimization. Finally, scientific analysis, biology and chemistry indicate the prospect of designing relatively small peptides to therapeutically modulate so-called ‘undruggable’ protein-protein interactions. Taken together a clear picture is emerging: through the synergistic use of the scientific imagination and the computational, chemical and biological methods that are currently available, effective peptide therapeutics for novel targets can be designed that surpass even the proven peptidic designs of nature.

We conducted an ethnographic study on an affordable housing developer to understand why knowledge losses recur despite investments in Knowledge Management (KM) systems by property developers. We found four operating environmental characteristics – multiple concurrent and sequential phases, discontinuous memberships, tasks interdependencies and different dominating knowledge types for each lifecycle phases – contributing to the Knowledge-loss phenomenon. These findings suggest a review of the information processing theory in business operations since it cannot fully support the operations of highly discontinuous teams. This understanding is critical as a basis for the design and development of future KM technologies in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). It also highlights the needs for the design and development of KM systems that cater to both the tacit- and explicit-dominant lifecycle phases within a PLM system.

A design concept and supporting analysis are presented for a He-cooled fast reactor for the transmutation of spent nuclear fuel. Coated transuranic (TRU) fuel particles in a SiC matrix are used. The reactor operates subcritical (k≤ 0.95), with a tokamak D-T fusion neutron source, to achieve >90% TRU burnup in repeated five-batch fuel cycles, fissions 1.1 tonnes/full-power year, and produces 700 MW(electric) net electrical power. The reactor design is based on nuclear, fuels, materials, and separations technologies being developed in the Generation-IV, Next Generation Nuclear Plant, and Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative programs and similar international programs, and the fusion neutron source is based on the physics and technology supporting the ITER design.

Given a Banach space $E$ and positive integers $k$ and $l$ we investigate the smallest constant $C$ that satisfies $\|P\|\hskip1pt\|Q\|\le C\|PQ\|$ for all $k$-homogeneous polynomials $P$ and $l$-homogeneous polynomials $Q$ on $E$. Our estimates are obtained using multilinear maps, the principle of local reflexivity and ideas from the geometry of Banach spaces (type and uniform convexity). We also examine the analogous problem for general polynomials on Banach spaces.

The placenta is essential to nutrition before birth. Recent work has shown that a range of clearly defined alterations can be found in the placentas of infants with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). In the mouse, a placental specific knockout of a single imprinted gene, encoding IGF-2, results in one pattern of alterations in placenta structure and function which leads to IUGR. We speculate that the alterations in the human placenta can also be grouped into patterns, or phenotypes, that are associated with specific patterns of fetal growth. Identifying the placental phenotypes of different fetal growth patterns will improve the ability of clinicians to recognize high-risk patients, of laboratory scientists to disentangle the complexities of IUGR, and of public health teams to target interventions aimed at ameliorating the long-term adverse effects of inadequate intrauterine growth.

The syntheses of cyclopentadienyl titanium tert-butylimido complexes containing pendant arm functionalized amidinate ligands are reported, together with their reactions with CO2. Mechanistic and DFT computational studies are also described. Reaction of [Ti(η-C5R4Me)(N^tBu)Cl(py)] (R = Me, H) with Li[Me3SiNC(Ph)N(CH2)nNMe2] (n = 2, 3) afforded the corresponding (dimethylamino)ethylidene or -propylidene functionalized benzamidinate complexes [Ti(η-C5R4Me)(N^tBu){Me3SiNC(Ph)N(CH2)nNMe2}] (R = Me, n = 2 (1), 3 (2); R = H, n = 2 (3), 3 (4)). The n-propyl functionalized amidinate complex [Ti(η-C5H4Me)(N^tBu){Me3SiNC(Ph)NCH2CH2Me}] (5) was also prepared for comparative purposes. The NMe2 donors in 3 and 4 coordinate relatively weakly, and in solution the activation Gibbs free energy for NMe2 dissociation for 3 is ca. 10 kJ mol^-1 higher than that for 4. All five compounds react with CO2 to form the corresponding N,O-bound carbamate complexes [Ti(η-C5R4Me){N^tBuC(O)O}{Me3SiNC(Ph)NR‘}] (R = H, Me; R‘ = CH2CH2NMe2, CH2CH2CH2NMe2, CH2CH2Me), which, in turn, extrude ^tBuNCO (above −25 °C for R = H and at room temperature for R = Me) to form the μ-oxo-bridged dimeric complexes [Ti2(η-C5R4Me)2(μ-O)2{Me3SiNC(Ph)NR‘}2], two of which have been structurally characterized. Only the C5Me5 carbamate complexes [Ti(η-C5Me5){N^tBuC(O)O}{Me3SiNC(Ph)N(CH2)nNMe2}] can be isolated and (for n = 3) structurally characterized. The reaction of 4 and 5 with CO2 is spontaneous at −78 °C, whereas the corresponding reaction of 3 does not occur at significant rates below −35 °C. The rate of extrusion of ^tBuNCO from [Ti(η-C5H4Me){N^tBuC(O)O}{Me3SiNC(Ph)NR‘] at −25 °C is twice as fast for R‘ = CH2CH2NMe2 as for CH2CH2CH2NMe2 and CH2CH2Me. DFT calculations have modeled the cycloaddition/extrusion reactions of 3−5 in conjunction with mechanistic and variable-temperature NMR experiments. The results show that the favored route is for the cycloaddition reaction to take place on 16-valence-electron, non pendant arm chelated isomers of 3 and 4 and that the relative ease of accessing these intermediates in fact controls the Ti&dbd;N^tBu/CO2 coupling reaction.

New groups 3 and 4 organometallic and coordination compounds supported by the tetradentate diamino-bis(phenolate) ligands O2^tBuNN‘ and O2^MeNN‘ are reported [H2O2^RNN‘ = (2-C5H4N)CH2N(2-HO-3,5-C6H2R2)2 where R = ^tBu or Me] along with some comparative studies with the tridentate amino-bis(phenolate) ligand O2^tBuN (H2O2^tBuN = ⁿPrN(2-HO-3,5-C6H2^tBu2)2). Reaction of Na2O2^tBuNN‘ with ScCl3 and pyridine in THF gave monomeric Sc(O2^tBuNN‘)Cl(py) (2), whereas Na2O2^MeNN‘ gave the dimeric phenoxy-bridged Sc2(O2^MeNN‘)2Cl2 (3). Reaction of Na2O2^tBuNN‘ and YCl3 in neat pyridine gave the chloride-bridged, seven-coordinate dimer Y2(O2^tBuNN‘)2(μ-Cl)2(py)2 (4). Reaction of M(CH2SiMe3)3(THF)2 (M = Sc or Y) with H2O2^tBuNN‘ afforded M(O2^tBuNN‘)(CH2SiMe3)(THF). The one-pot reaction of ScCl3 with Na2O2^RNN‘ (R = ^tBu or Me) and Li[PhC(NSiMe3)2] gave the fluxional benzamidinate derivatives Sc(O2^RNN‘){PhC(NSiMe3)2}. Treatment of Ti(NMe2)4 with H2O2^RNN‘ gave the corresponding Ti(O2^RNN‘)(NMe2)2 (R = ^tBu (11) or Me); 11 in turn reacts with HS-4-C6H4Me to give Ti(O2^tBuNN‘)(NMe2)(S-4-C6H4Me). One-pot reactions of TiCl4(THF)2 with MeLi (2 equiv) followed by H2O2^RNN‘ affords Ti(O2^RNN‘)Cl2 (R = ^tBu (9) or Me (10)), which are cleanly methylated with MeMgBr to yield the corresponding Ti(O2^RNN‘)Me2 (R = ^tBu (14) or Me (15)). The terminal imidotitanium compounds Ti(O2^tBuNN‘)(NR)(py) (R = ^tBu or 2,6-C6H3Me2) were formed from the respective Ti(NR)Cl2(py)3 reagents and Na2O2^tBuNN‘, and these react with CO2 by imido group transfer to yield the μ-oxo dimer Ti2(O2^tBuNN‘)2(μ-O)2 (18) and RNCO. The related five-coordinate compounds Ti(O2^tBuN)(NR)(py) (R = ^tBu, 2,6-C6H3Me2 (20) or 2,6-C6H3ⁱPr2 (21)) were prepared in an analogous manner. These do not give identifiable metal products with CO2. Treatment of the dimethyl compounds 14 or 15 with B(Ar^F)3 or [CPh3][B(Ar^F)4] (Ar^F = C6F5) gave the fluxional, dimeric phenoxy-bridged cations [Ti2(O2^RNN‘)2Me2]²⁺, which show very sluggish 1-hexene polymerization behavior. The compounds 2, 3, 4, 11, 9, 10, 16, 18, 20, and 21 have been crystallographically characterized.
