The article describes several cases of pediatric patients who developed adrenal suppression while receiving treatment with fluticasone propionate, prednisolone and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. Particular focus is given to their dosing regimen. The cortisol levels of a seven-month-old boy normalised after switching to ciclesonide. Five courses of oral corticosteroids were administered to a girl from September 2001 to February 2006. Particular focus is given to the complicated recovery period of a four-year-old girl.
