Abstract
- The article discusses research being done on the decongestant dose of oral phenylephrine that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It references a study by R. C. Hatton et al published in a 2007 issue of "Annals of Pharmacotherapy." The researchers found out that there is insufficient evidence to justify the use of oral phenylephrine at the dose recommended by the FDA. Although phenylephrine was favoured over placebo in the eight trials conducted, the results were not statistically significant.
