Background: The Carlevale lens (FIL SSF, Soleko IOL Division, Italy) is a new lens for suture-less scleral fixation. This paper aimed to systematically review articles on this lens, the surgical techniques used for its implantation, complications and outcomes. Methods: This systematic review was performed following the PRISMA guidelines. The search string used was "Carlevale" AND "scleral fixation" from inception until March 2024. For completeness, either case-control studies, case reports or case series written in English were included. The authors used the Newcastle–Ottawa scale for the case-control studies and the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist for case reports and case series. Results: Twenty-nine articles were included. Scleral fixation with Carlevale lens can be performed by creating scleral flaps or, alternatively, by using scleral pockets. The two sclerotomies must be diametrically opposed, and are preferably created by 25-gauge trocars. A pars plana vitrectomy should be performed every time, and the design of the lens should be suitable for self-anchoring to the sclera; the most accredited strategy to achieve this is to avoid scleral sutures. There were only a few intraoperative and postoperative complications reported; vitreous hemorrhages were the most frequent intraoperative events, while the most relevant postoperative complications were vitreous hemorrhages, cystoid macular oedema and transient variations in the intraocular pressure. Excellent results have been obtained in terms of BCVA, IOL centration and stability, mean intraocular pressure, postoperative spherical equivalent, separation between anterior and posterior chamber and the distance of the IOL from anterior chamber structures. Herein we report the first microwave‐assisted one‐pot three‐step metal‐free [4+2] procedure for the synthesis of 5,6‐substituted‐3‐hydrazinyl‐1,2,4‐triazines directly from commercially available aromatic and heteroaromatic ketones. The 3‐hydrazinyl‐1,2,4‐triazine can be isolated or further elaborated, after a simple work‐up, by direct condensation with different aldehydes or ketones to provide highly functionalized hydrazone‐derivatives. This protocol represents a rapid, efficient, and sustainable approach for the development of new highly functionalized 1,2,4‐triazine derivatives with potential biological interest. Myeloid sarcoma is a rare malignant tumor of primitive myeloid cell origin often associated with hematologic disorders. The central nervous system is rarely involved and differentiating between myeloid sarcoma and other tumors is not possible on imaging. Here we present the rare case of an isolated intracranial myeloid sarcoma, initially misdiagnosed radiologically as a meningioma, treated with surgical total resection and subsequent chemotherapy, with no signs of any hematological disorder at follow up. Differential diagnosis and management strategies, as well as follow-up implications are discussed along with literature review, which pointed out that only five cases with no further signs of hematological disorders at follow up have been described in the literature so far and this case has the longest follow up of them at 9 years. Costello syndrome (CS) is a rare genetic syndrome affecting multiple organs, generally caused by mutations of the HRAS gene, belonging to the RAS/MAPK genes family. A male patient with CS developed a painful pulsatile mass on the lateral side of the wrist. An initial ultrasonographic investigation confirmed the presence of a radial artery lesion, possibly an arterial aneurysm. On surgical resection, histological evaluation showed a tangle of vascular structures with variable calibre and abnormal wall histology. Immunohistochemical stainings revealed a very poor endothelial contribution to the central vascular wall structure. These histological observations led us to conclude we had managed an acute vascular malformation (VM) rupture, rather than a common arterial aneurysmal condition. Considering the molecular mechanisms regulated by RAS/MAPK genes, CS patients might have a higher risk of developing VMs and, in the presence of a pulsatile mass with acute onset, VM rupture should be considered. Whether and how SARS-CoV-2 outbreak affected in-hospital acute stroke care system is still matter of debate. In the setting of the STROKOVID network, a collaborative project between the ten centers designed as hubs for the treatment of acute stroke during SARS-CoV-2 outbreak in Lombardy, Italy, we retrospectively compared clinical features and process measures of patients with confirmed infection (COVID-19) and non-infected patients (non-COVID-19) who underwent reperfusion therapies for acute ischemic stroke. Between March 8 and April 30, 2020, 296 consecutive patients [median age, 74 years (interquartile range (IQR), 62–80.75); males, 154 (52.0%); 34 (11.5%) COVID-19] qualified for the analysis. Time from symptoms onset to treatment was longer in the COVID-19 group [230 (IQR 200.5–270) minutes vs. 190 (IQR 150–245) minutes; p = 0.007], especially in the first half of the study period. Patients with COVID-19 who underwent endovascular thrombectomy had more frequently absent collaterals or collaterals filling ≤ 50% of the occluded territory (50.0% vs. 16.6%; OR 5.05; 95% CI 1.82–13.80) and a lower rate of good/complete recanalization of the primary arterial occlusive lesion (55.6% vs. 81.0%; OR 0.29; 95% CI 0.10–0.80). Post-procedural intracranial hemorrhages were more frequent (35.3% vs. 19.5%; OR 2.24; 95% CI 1.04–4.83) and outcome was worse among COVID-19 patients (in-hospital death, 38.2% vs. 8.8%; OR 6.43; 95% CI 2.85–14.50). Our findings showed longer delays in the intra-hospital management of acute ischemic stroke in COVID-19 patients, especially in the early phase of the outbreak, that likely impacted patients outcome and should be the target of future interventions. Abstract Background Whether microgravity might influence tumour growth and carcinogenesis is still an open issue. It is not clear also if and how normal and transformed cells are differently solicited by microgravity. The present study was designed to verify this issue. Methods Two normal, LB and HSC93, and two transformed, Jurkat and 1310, lymphoblast cell lines were used as representative for the two conditions. Two lymphoblast lines from Fanconi's anemia patients group A and C (FA-A and FA-C, respectively), along with their isogenic corrected counterparts (FA-A-cor and FA-C-cor) were also used. Cell lines were evaluated for their proliferative ability, vitality and apoptotic susceptibility upon microgravity exposure in comparison with unexposed cells. Different parameters correlated to energy metabolism, glucose consumption, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), intracellular ATP content, red-ox balance and ability of the cells to repair the DNA damage product 8-OHdG induced by the treatment of the cells with 20 mM KBrO3 were also evaluated. Results Transformed Jurkat and 1310 cells appear resistant to the microgravitational challenge. On the contrary normal LB and HSC93 cells display increased apoptotic susceptibility, shortage of energy storages and reduced ability to cope with oxidative stress. FA-A and FA-C cells appear resistant to microgravity exposure, analogously to transformed cells. FA corrected cells did shown intermediate sensitivity to microgravity exposure suggesting that genetic correction does not completely reverts cellular phenotype. Conclusions In the light of the reported results microgravity should be regarded as an harmful condition either when considering normal as well as transformed cells. Modeled microgravity and space-based technology are interesting tools in the biomedicine laboratory and offer an original, useful and unique approach in the study of cellular biochemistry and in the regulation of metabolic pathways.

Sleep disturbance is a crucial issue in pediatric palliative care, with a dramatic impact on the quality of life of children and families. Dexmedetomidine (DEX) is a selective a-2 agonist, with anxiolytic, hypnotic, and analgesic properties, that could play a role in the management of refractory sleep disturbances. We describe the use of intranasal DEX as a sleep inductor in a 10-year-old female with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa and a severe sleep disorder. After treatment with melatonin, benzodiazepines, and niaprazine had failed, she was admitted to the hospital where 3 mcg/kg/day of intranasal DEX was administered before bedtime. She received 0.7 mL of the IV formulation at a concentration of 100 mcg/mL with half the dose given in each nostril via a Mucosal Atomization Device. During this time, she was also monitored for potential side effects (e.g., bradycardia, blood pressure derangements). After 2 weeks of hospitalization, she was discharged with ready-to-use doses of DEX for home treatment. The child's heart rate and blood oxygen saturation were monitored at home. There was a definite improvement in sleep quality and duration, daytime alertness, pain control, and quality of life. No side effects were reported and the drug retained its effect over time (the patient is currently taking the drug). Myeloablative conditioning is a well‐established procedure that precedes hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), particularly in pediatric patients. In the period directly following transplantation, several factors may contribute to complications that lead to the activation or damage of endothelial cells, involved in the pathogenesis of vascular endothelial syndromes (VES). However, to date, sufficiently specific and sensitive diagnostic markers for the various forms of VES have not been identified. This was a retrospective single‐center study of patients who underwent allogeneic HSCT. For this cohort of patients, parameters including type of engraftment, donor characteristics, and cytokine production were measured and correlated with a high prevalence of short‐term complications after HSCT. The aim of this study was to identify specific parameters useful for improving diagnostics and predicting adverse effects in VES. We confirmed that monocyte‐predominant engraftment was related to a higher risk for an early transplant‐related complication termed sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS). The increased production of specific cytokines, in particular RANTES, represents a marker associated with prevalent engraftment. In addition, patients undergoing prophylaxis with defibrotide had "classical" engraftment, a common cytokine profile and a lower incidence of life‐threatening transplant‐related complications. The beneficial effect of defibrotide might be a starting point for developing selective prophylaxis for patients with monocyte engraftment to prevent severe early transplant‐related complications. The onset of vascular endothelial syndromes after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is significantly associated with monocyte‐predominant engraftment (P < 0.0001). The increased production of specific cytokines, in particular RANTES, represents a marker associated with monocyte‐predominant engraftment. There is close association between the prophylactic administration of defibrotide, a powerful endothelial protector, and the incidence of vascular endothelial syndromes (P < 0.0001). Background Hypertrophic pachymeningitis (HP) is a rare primary or secondary inflammatory disorder that manifests with thickening of dura mater involving predominantly the tentorium and falx in the focal form. Hydrocephalus has not been reported in association with secondary HP. Case Description A 61-year-old woman presented with intracranial HP of the posterior fossa secondary to Wegener granulomatosis not responsive to corticosteroid therapy. Owing to the association of noncommunicating hydrocephalus, endoscopic third ventriculostomy was performed. There was immediate improvement of neurologic symptoms and no postoperative complications. The patient had very good clinical and radiologic outcome at 1-year follow-up. Conclusions In a case of noncommunicating hydrocephalus related to focal HP of the posterior fossa, endoscopic third ventriculostomy was effective in resolving symptoms related to increased intracranial pressure. The physiopathogenetic mechanisms and therapeutic strategies were discussed along with a review of the most relevant literature. Background: Liver biopsies in pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) patients are as and effective when performed at bedside in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU) than in the Day Surgery Unit (DSU), with better patient compliance and lower emotional distress for these children.Methods: The study group consisted of 45 children who underwent allogeneic HSCT. We reviewed 68 liver biopsies performed between April 2006 and September 2015. 12 (17.6 %) biopsies were performed in the DSU and 56 (82.3 %) in the BMTU; nine (13.2 %) prior to HSCT and 59 (86.7 %) after HSCT. Pre-procedural behavioral status (subjective score) was evaluated by pediatric transplant physicians by filling in a questionnaire employing a three-point scale: "calm and cooperative", "agitated and non-cooperative" or "frightened and suffering". Objective score was obtained measuring patient's heart rate before the procedure and comparing it with mean heart rate.Results: Patients who underwent the procedure at the BMTU experienced less emotional distress than those who underwent it in the DSU: 58.3 % of patients treated at the DSU were agitated as compared with 16.1 % of those treated at the BMTU (p < 0.01). Among the 59 biopsies performed after HSCT, 41 (69.5 %) were taken from symptomatic patients for a diagnostic purpose and 18 (30.5 %) in asymptomatic ones in order to rule out hepatic GVHD. Among these 18 procedures, GVHD was diagnosed in 16 (88.9 %) cases. Minor complications occurred in about 17 % of procedures (12 biopsies), at a rate of 25 % for the DSU location compared with 16 % for the BMTU location. Only two major complications were reported, one in the DSU and one in the BMTU.Conclusion: Liver biopsy performed at bedside in HSCT patients does not carry a higher risk of adverse events than the same procedure performed in the DSU and has lower emotional distress associated with better patient compliance, thus contributing significantly to a higher standard of care. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease of the central nervous system (CNS) characterized by persistent inflammation orchestrated by cluster of differentiation (CD) 4 T helper (Th) cells. In particular, Th1 and Th17 cells amplify, whereas T regulatory (Treg) cells moderate inflammation. The role of other Th subsets in MS is not clear. In the present study, we investigated the generation of different Th responses by human dendritic cells (DCs) in MS. We compared the production of several Th cytokines by naive CD4+ T-cells polarized with myeloid and plasmacytoid DCs (mDCs and pDCs) in healthy donors (HD) and relapsing-remitting (RR)-MS patients. We found that resiquimod-stimulated mDCs were able to activate Th17 differentiation, whereas pDCs induced interleukin (IL)-10-producing Th cells. Surprisingly, resiquimod-stimulated pDCs from MS patients also significantly induced the differentiation of Th9 cells, which produce IL-9 and are known to be involved in allergic diseases. We investigated the potential role of IL-9 in MS. We found that IL-9 activated signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) 1 and STAT5 phosphorylation and interfered with IL-17 and interferon (IFN) regulatory transcription factor (IRF)-4 expression in Th17-polarized cells. Moreover, in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of 107 RR-MS patients, IL-9 inversely correlated with indexes of inflammatory activity, neurodegeneration and disability progression of MS. High levels of IL-9 were associated with the absence of IL-17 in the CSF of RR-MS patients. Our results demonstrate a Th9-inducing potential of pDCs in MS, suggesting an immunoregulatory role leading to attenuation of the exaggerated Th17 inflammatory response. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background Understanding how inflammation causes neuronal damage is of paramount importance in multiple sclerosis (MS) and in other neurodegenerative diseases. Here we addressed the role of the apoptotic cascade in the synaptic abnormalities and neuronal loss caused by the proinflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) in brain tissues, and disease progression caused by inflammation in relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) patients. Results The effect of IL-1β, but not of TNF-α, on glutamate-mediated excitatory postsynaptic currents was blocked by pifithrin-α (PFT), inhibitor of p53. The protein kinase C (PKC)/transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) pathway was involved in IL-1β-p53 interaction at glutamatergic synapses, as pharmacological modulation of this inflammationrelevant molecular pathway affected PFT effects on the synaptic action of IL-1β. IL-1β-induced neuronal swelling was also blocked by PFT, and IL-1β increased the expression of p21, a canonical downstream target of activated p53. Consistent with these in vitro results, the Pro/Pro genotype of p53, associated with low efficiency of transcription of p53-regulated genes, abrogated the association between IL-1β cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) levels and disability progression in RRMS patients. The interaction between p53 and CSF IL-1β was also evaluated at the optical coherence tomography (OCT), showing that IL-1β-driven neurodegenerative damage, causing alterations of macular volume and of retinal nerve fibre layer thickness, was modulated by the p53 genotype. Conclusions Inflammatory synaptopathy and neurodegeneration caused by IL-1β in RRMS patients involve the apoptotic cascade. The local field potential (LFP) captures different neural processes, including integrative synaptic dynamics that cannot be observed by measuring only the spiking activity of small populations. Therefore, investigating how LFP power is modulated by external stimuli can offer important insights into sensory neural representations. However, gaining such insight requires developing data-driven computational models that can identify and disambiguate the neural contributions to the LFP. Here, we investigated how networks of excitatory and inhibitory integrate-and-fire neurons responding to time-dependent inputs can be used to interpret sensory modulations of LFP spectra. We computed analytically from such models the LFP spectra and the information that they convey about input and used these analytical expressions to fit the model to LFPs recorded in V1 of anesthetized macaques (Macaca mulatta) during the presentation of color movies. Our expressions explain60%-98%of the variance of the LFP spectrum shape and its dependency upon movie scenes and we achieved this with realistic values for the best-fit parameters. In particular, synaptic best-fit parameters were compatible with experimental measurements and the predictions of firing rates, based only on the fit of LFP data, correlated with the multiunit spike rate recorded from the same location. Moreover, the parameters characterizing the input to the network across different movie scenes correlated with cross-scene changes of several image features. The article presents a study which investigates the synaptic mechanism of inflammatory neurodegeneration in progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). Details about the methods of the study are provided. An observation of an increased spontaneous excitatory postsynaptic currents, along with the pathogenic role of B cells in tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cerebrospinal fluid increase, is discussed. The study suggests TNF as a major neurotoxic molecule in progressive MS.

Neuroplasticity is essential to prevent clinical worsening despite continuing neuronal loss in several brain diseases, including multiple sclerosis (MS). The precise nature of the adaptation mechanisms taking place in MS brains, ensuring protection from disability appear-ance and accumulation, is however unknown. Here, we explored the hypothesis that long-term synaptic potentiation (LTP), potentially able to minimize the effects of neuronal loss by providing extra excitation of denervated neurons, is the most relevant form of adaptive plasticity in stable MS patients, and it is disrupted in progressing MS patients. We found that LTP, explored by means of transcranial magnetic theta burst stimulation over the primary motor cortex, was still possible, and even favored, in stable relapsing-remitting (RR-MS) patients, whereas it was absent in individuals with primary progressive MS (PP-MS). We also provided evidence that platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) plays a substantial role in favoring both LTP and brain reserve in MS patients, as this molecule: (1) was reduced in the CSF of PP-MS patients, (2) enhanced LTP emergence in hippocampal mouse brain slices, (3) was associated with more pronounced LTP in RR-MS patients, and (4) was associated with the clinical compensation of new brain lesion formation in RR-MS. Our results showthat brain plasticity reserve, in the form of LTP, is crucial to contrast clinical deterioration in MS. Enhancing PDGF signaling might represent a valuable treatment option to maintain brain reserve and to attenuate the clinical consequences of neuronal damage in the progressive phases of MS and in other neurodegenerative disorders. The article discusses the use of the immunomodulatory drug laquinimod to prevent inflammation-induced synaptic alterations in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) mice. Mice were immunised with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)35-55 peptide, treated for 26 days with daily laquinimod injections. It performs patch clamp electrophysiology on acute brain striatal slices from EAE mice. Results show that laquinimod prevents the alterations of GABAergic synapses.

Synaptic transmission and plasticity mediated by NMDA receptors (NMDARs) could modulate the severity of multiple sclerosis (MS). Here the role of NMDARs in MS was first explored in 691 subjects carrying specific allelic variants of the NR1 subunit gene or of the NR2B subunit gene of this glutamate receptor. The analysis was replicated for significant SNPs in an independent sample of 1548 MS subjects. The C allele of rs4880213 was found to be associated with reduced NMDAR-mediated cortical excitability, and with increased probability of having more disability than the CT/TT MS subjects. MS severity was higher in the CC group among relapsing-remitting MS (RR-MS) patients, while primary progressive MS (PP-MS) subjects homozygous for the T allele had more pronounced clinical worsening. Mean time to first relapse, but not to an active MRI scan, was lower in the CC group of RR-MS patients, and the number of subjects with two or more clinical relapses in the first two years of the disease was higher in CC compared to CT/TT group. Furthermore, the percentage of relapses associated with residual disability was lower in subjects carrying the T allele. Lesion load at the MRI was conversely unaffected by the C or T allele of this SNP in RR-MS patients. Axonal and neuronal degeneration at the optical coherence tomography was more severe in the TT group of PP-MS patients, while reduced retinal nerve fiber thickness had less consequences on visual acuity in RR-MS patients bearing the T allele. Finally, the T allele was associated with preserved cognitive abilities at the Rao’s brief repeatable neuropsychological battery in RR-MS. Signaling through glutamate NMDARs enhances both compensatory synaptic plasticity and excitotoxic neurodegeneration, impacting in opposite ways on RR-MS and PP-MS pathophysiological mechanisms. The article offers information on a research that analyzes the chance of reactivation of multiple sclerosis in patients on natalizumab treatment by inducing lymphocytosis and of Akt polymorphism. It is mentioned that the study was conducted on 93 patients whose peripheral leukocyte count and composition was monitored, and 56 of these patient discontinued the treatment. It is observed that natalizumab causes genetic variation in Akt signaling which leads to the reactivation of disease.

Interleukin-lβ (IL-Iβ) is involved in mood alterations associated with inflammatory illnesses and with stress. The synaptic basis of IL-lβ-induced emotional disturbances is still unknown. To address the possible involvement of the endocannabinoid system in IL-lβ-induced anxiety, we performed behavioral and neurophysiological studies in mice exposed to stress or to intracerebroventricular injections of this inflammatory cytokine or of its antagonist. We found that a single intracerebroventricular injection of IL-lβ caused anxiety in mice, and abrogated the sensitivity of cannabinoid CB1 receptors (CBIRs) controlling GABA synapses in the striatum. Identical behavioral and synaptic results were obtained following social defeat stress, and intracerebroventricular injection of IL-1 receptor antagonist reverted both effects. IL-lβ-mediated inhibition of CB1R function was secondary to altered cholesterol composition within membrane lipid rafts, and required intact function of the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1 ) channel, another element of the endocannabinoid system. Membrane lipid raft disruption and inhibition of cholesterol synthesis, in fact, abrogated IL-lβ-CBlR coupling, and TRPVl -/- mice were indeed insensitive to the synaptic and behavioral effects of both IL-lβ and stress. On the other hand, cholesterol enrichment of striatal slices mimicked the synaptic effects of IL-lβ on CBIRs only in control mice, while the same treatment was ineffective in slices prepared from TRPVl-/- mice. The present investigation identifies a previously unrecognized interaction between a major proinflammatory cytokine and the endocannabinoid system in the pathophysiology of anxiety. FA corrected cells did shown intermediate sensitivity to microgravity exposure suggesting that genetic correction does not completely reverts cellular phenotype. Conclusions: In the light of the reported results microgravity should be regarded as an harmful condition either when considering normal as well as transformed cells. Abnormal glutamate-dependent synaptic excitation contributes to neuronal damage in multiple sclerosis (MS). Little is known about the involvement of the GABA system in this disorder. Here we found that cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from MS patients with enhanced brain lesions on magnetic resonance imaging inhibited GABA transmission in mouse brain slices. Enhanced IL-1β neuronal action was responsible for this effect, because IL-1β receptor antagonist blocked, and exogenous IL-1β mimicked the synaptic effect of inflamed CSF. Our results provide evidence that focal inflammation in MS perturbs the cytokine milieu within the circulating CSF, resulting in diffuse GABAergic alteration in neurons. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim Evacuation through burr hole craniostomy is the most common type of chronic subdural hematoma surgical treatment, with a morbidity rate of 0-9%. Methods Here we present a case of 66-year-old Caucasian woman with bilateral hemispheric chronic subdural hematoma and left transtentorial uncal herniation. Bilateral burr hole craniostomy with gradual and simultaneous evacuation was performed and subdural drains were placed with daily strict monitoring of drained fluid. Results Despite immediate prompt neurological improvement, on the second postoperative day bilateral ptosis and left medial rectus weakness occurred, with no signs of consciousness deterioration. Radiological exams revealed a 9 x 6 mm haemorrhage of the tegmentum mesencephali. In the next day progressive neurological improvement occurred and a follow-up at 1 month revealed persistence of bilateral ptosis with almost complete regression of the left medial rectus weakness. Conclusion Although burr hole craniostomy is considered a minor procedure, rare but fatal complications like brainstem haemorrhage may occur. Bilateral simultaneous and gradual drainage, strict monitoring of drained fluid and blood pressure in the perioperative period and frequent neurological with prompt radiological assessment in case of clinical worsening, should be the mainstay of a correct management of chronic subdural hematoma (particularly if bilateral) in order to avoid potentially fatal complications. The electrical activity of brain, heart and skeletal muscles generates magnetic fields but these are recordable only macroscopically, such as in magnetoencephalography, which is used to map neuronal activity at the brain scale. At the local scale, magnetic fields recordings are still pending because of the lack of tools that can come in contact with living tissues. Here we present bio-compatible sensors based on Giant Magneto-Resistance (GMR) spin electronics. We show on a mouse muscle in vitro, using electrophysiology and computational modeling, that this technology permits simultaneous local recordings of the magnetic fields from action potentials. The sensitivity of this type of sensor is almost size independent, allowing the miniaturization and shaping required for in vivo/vitro magnetophysiology. GMR-based technology can constitute the magnetic counterpart of microelectrodes in electrophysiology, and might represent a new fundamental tool to investigate the local sources of neuronal magnetic activity.
