Background: The Institute of Medicine recommends Survivorship Care Plans (SCPs) for all cancer survivors. However, it is unclear whether certain patient groups may or may not benefit from SCPs.Objective: The aim was to assess whether the effects of an automatically generated paper SCP on patients' satisfaction with information provision and care, illness perceptions, and health care utilization were moderated by disease-related Internet use.Methods: Twelve hospitals were randomized to either SCP care or usual care in the pragmatic cluster randomized Registrationsystem Oncological GYnecology (ROGY) Care trial. Newly diagnosed endometrial cancer patients completed questionnaires after diagnosis (N=221; response: 74.7%, 221/296), 6 months (n=158), and 12 months (n=147), including patients' satisfaction with information provision and care, illness perceptions, health care utilization (how many times patients visited a medical specialist or primary care physician about their cancer in the past 6 months), and disease-related Internet use (whether patients used the Internet to look for information about cancer).Results: In total, 80 of 221 (36.2%) patients used the Internet to obtain disease-related information. Disease-related Internet use moderated the SCP care effect on the amount of information received about the disease (P=.03) and medical tests (P=.01), helpfulness of the information (P=.01), and how well patients understood their illness (P=.04). All stratified analyses were not statistically significant. However, it appeared that patients who did not seek disease-related information on the Internet in the SCP care arm reported receiving more information about their disease (mean 63.9, SD 20.1 vs mean 58.3, SD 23.7) and medical tests (mean 70.6, SD 23.5 vs mean 64.7, SD 24.9), finding the information more helpful (76.7, SD 22.9 vs mean 67.8, SD 27.2; scale 0-100), and understanding their illness better (mean 6.6, SD 3.0 vs mean 6.1, SD 3.2; scale 1-10) than patients in the usual care arm did. In addition, although all stratified analyses were not significant, patients who did seek disease-related information on the Internet in the SCP care arm appeared to receive less information about their disease (mean 65.7, SD 23.4 vs mean 67.1, SD 20.7) and medical tests (mean 72.4, SD 23.5 vs mean 75.3, SD 21.6), did not find the information more helpful (mean 78.6, SD 21.2 vs mean 76.0, SD 22.0), and reported less understanding of their illness (mean 6.3, SD 2.8 vs mean 7.1, SD 2.7) than patients in the usual care arm did.Conclusions: Paper SCPs appear to improve the amount of information received about the disease and medical tests, the helpfulness of the information, and understanding of the illness for patients who do not search for disease-related information on the Internet. Energy is very important parameter during the creation of a WSN infrastructure, and to support long lifetimes, energyefficient operation is a key technique. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are known to be highly energy-constrained and each network's lifetime has a strong dependence on the node's battery capacity. As such, the network lifetime has been a critical concern in WSN research. While numerous energy-efficient protocols have been proposed to prolong the network lifetime. Energy-efficient sensor state planning consists i finding an optimal assignment of states to sensors in order to maximize network lifetime. Network lifetime and energy consumption analysis for cluster-based wireless sensor networks based upon LEACH protocol for periodic monitoring applications induce unbalanced energy consumption among sensor nodes and hence affect the network lifetime when compared with the results obtained from the analytical model of this protocol. The article reviews the digital archive collection "The Papers of Eliza Lucas Pinckney and Harriott Pinckney Horry," edited by Constance Schulz, located at http://www.upress-virginia.edu/rotunda/, which was developed by the University of Virginia.

The contribution presents the digitized papers of the Benedictine historians Bernhard (1683-1735) and Hieronymus Pez (1685-1762). They were among the first scholars in the Catholic South of the Holy Roman Empire to systematically collect and critically publish medieval manuscript sources, including many from monastic libraries which have since been dispersed or lost. Beyond the letters to the brothers Pez, the archive and library of Melk Abbey in Lower Austria contain large quantities of manuscript material left by them, both their own notes and the submissions of their correspondents. This includes, for example, various types of biographical lists, (partial) catalogues of books and manuscripts from numerous libraries, excerpts and transcripts from medieval manuscripts and charters. Between 2009 and 2012, the Pez papers were digitized, provided with the necessary metadata and imported into UNIDAM, a digital asset management system. This article is an account of the online presentation of the personal papers of the late British artist John Latham. The John Latham Archive online follows the proposal of creative archiving and has been implemented using the Drupal content management system. The author begins with a summary of the ideas of creative archiving and explains how these depend on recent innovations of online software. The article continues by highlighting the potential of Drupal as an archiving tool for creative archiving. An example implementation of the John Latham Archive online is described by relating the cosmological ideas of the artist with practical software tools which have been used to model them. This paper presents the dynamic external Home Agent (x-HA) assignment in mobile Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The proposed architecture is based on the mobile VPN proposed by the IETF, which adopts Mobile IP and IPsec. The IETF solution, however, leads to two questions: where should we put the x-HA and how should we trust the x-HA? We propose to assign the x-HA dynamically so the handoff latency and end-to-end latency could be reduced significantly. By using Diameter Mobile IPv4 application, we also propose a technique such that the x-HA can be associated with the VPN securely. In addition, the registrations with x-HA and internal HA (i-HA) are concurrently accomplished. The proposed technique has been implemented in a mobile VPN testbed. One of the most important freely available digital elevation models (DEMs) for Amazonia is the one obtained by the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). However, since SRTM tends to represent the vegetation surface instead of the ground surface, the broad use of SRTM DEM as a framework for terrain description in Amazonia is hampered by the presence of deforested areas. We present here two datasets: (1) a deforestation-corrected SRTM DEM for the interfluve between the Purus and Madeira rivers, in central Amazonia, which passed through a careful identification of different environments and has deforestation features corrected by a new method of increasing pixel values of the DEM; and (2) a set of eighteen hydrological-topographic descriptors based on the corrected SRTM DEM. The hydrological-topographic description was generated by the Height Above the Nearest Drainage (HAND) algorithm, which normalizes the terrain elevation (a.s.l.) by the elevation of the nearest hydro-logically connected drainage. The validation of the HAND dataset was done by in situ hydrological description of 110 km of walking trails also available in this dataset. The new SRTM DEM expands the applicability of SRTM data for landscape modelling; and the datasets of hydrological features based on topographic modelling is undoubtedly appropriate for ecological modelling and an important contribution for environmental mapping of Amazonia. Interceptors are an emerging middleware technology enabling the addition of specific network-oriented capabilities to distributed applications. By exploiting interceptors, developers can register code within interception points, extending the basic middleware mechanisms with specific functionality, e.g. authentication, flow control, caching, etc. Notably, these extensions can be achieved without modifying either the application or the middleware code. In this paper we report the results of our experiences with CORBA request portable interceptors. In particular, we point out (i) the basic mechanisms implementable by these interceptors, i.e. request redirection and piggybacking and (ii) we analyze their limitations. We then propose a proxy-based technique to overcome the interceptors' limitations. Successively, we present a performance analysis carried out on three Java-CORBA platforms currently implementing the portable interceptors specification. Finally, we conclude our work with a case study in which portable interceptors are used to implement the fault-tolerant CORBA client invocation semantic without impacting on the client application code and on the CORBA ORB. The article focuses on the issue of online term paper providers and offers suggestions on how organizational behavior and management professors can deal with the issue. Cheating in college is certainly not a new phenomenon. Underground paper mills, from which students can obtain previously prepared papers to be submitted as their own work, have existed for quite some time. Academic dishonesty at the university level is not uncommon. Across a number of studies, the percentage of students who reported that they had cheated at some time in their college career ranged from a low of 13% to an amazing high of 95%. Online term paper service providers typically deal with this issue by suggesting somewhere on their homepage, usually in a prominent location, that their product is intended to be used for research purposes only and is not to be represented as the customer's own work.

A three-week constructed sample shows that few U.S. newspapers publish Quick Response (QR) codes on front pages and that many of the published codes were beyond newsroom control. Content analysis describes QR use by papers in the context of diffusion of innovation and niche-gratification theories and compares published “deep” links with randomly selected pages. Interviews with newspaper executives reveal institutional isomorphism reasons for QR adoption and the belief that QR has little widespread acceptance by readers or the industry. This paper introduces the ExaPRR Framework, which is capable of managing and controlling dynamic and interactive events in addition to activities related to distributed Published Resources Repository, managing and controlling dynamic and interactive events of the said resource discovery (RD) by redefining the concept of request and response based on wave model. For this purpose, while analyzing the function of the Distributed Published Resource Repository RD and defining the concept of the next element participating in the global activity in this RD, it redefines the concept of request in the Distributed Exascale systems. This framework uses the concept of revising the state of implementation of dynamic and interactive events in the system and redefining the concept of request at every moment of the process of implementation of resource discovery activities based on system status, demanding requests, and dynamic and interactive event, manages the resource's discovery activities. Collecting and disseminating theses and dissertations electronically is not a new concept. Tools and platforms have emerged to handle various components of the submission and distribution process. However, there is not a tool that handles the entirety of the process from the moment the student begins work on their thesis to the dissemination of the final thesis. The authors have created such a tool which they have called Jarrow. After reviewing available open-source software for theses submission and open-source institutional repository software this paper discusses why and how Jarrow was created and how it works. This paper presents a combination of verification and conformance testing techniques to support the formal validation of reactive systems. The idea is to use symbolic test selection techniques to extract subgraphs (components) from a specification, and to perform the verification on the components rather than on the whole specification. Under reasonable sufficient conditions, this constitutes a sound compositional verification technique, in the sense that a property verified on the components also holds on the whole specification. This may considerably reduce the global verification effort. Moreover, once verified, a component forms the basis of an adequate test case, i.e. when executed on an implementation, it will not issue false positive or negative verdicts with respect to the verified properties. The approach has been implemented using the STG test selection tool and the PVS theorem prover. It is demonstrated here on a smart-card application: the Common Electronic Purse System. The paper presents an analytical study of the research output in e-publishing field on a series of scientometric indicators. As seen from Scopus database the total world output was 7010 publications published in 10 years during 2005-2014. The study found that e-publishing is still a young subject field growing at a slow pace, 3.41% CAGR growth and averaged 1.08 citations per paper. The body of research literature in this field is still in the early stage of its growth. Publication scatter in this field is still very high. The top 15 most productive organizations accounted for as small global publication share as 5.72% and as small global citation share as 12.73% during 2005-14. The average productivity rate per organization in 10 years was as low as 26.7, citation impact per paper was 2.41, h-index was 6.93 and international collaborative share as 23.44% during 2005-14. To build top research centres in e-publishing field, it is important that funding agencies at national and international level should aggressively start providing planned funding support to research organizations. This paper introduces current research that focuses on the role of qualitative research in social media including the new ways of marketing promotion, participation, and interaction enabled by social media. This paper presents a 10-year review study that focuses on the investigation of the use of computer card games (CCGs) as learning tools in Computer Science (CS) Education. Specific search terms keyed into 10 large scientific electronic databases identified 24 papers referring to the use of CCGs for the learning of CS matters during the last decade. The findings revealed that the CCGs reported by the reviewed papers were used for the learning of diverse CS issues. The motivation behind the use of the aforementioned CCGs was based on: (a) students' familiarity with the CGs at hand, so that they might focus on the construction of their simulation, (b) the fact that, the logic of CGs is suitable for the teaching of various CS concepts, and (c) CCG-play as a motivational activity to engage learners in their learning. CCGs were used in two ways: as CCG-construction context based on supportive data provided by educators, and as CCG-play educational tools. The constructivist learning approach was implied behind the design and use of most of the CCGs reported in the articles reviewed. Evaluation of some CCGs also provided positive results. In this paper, an economical method for replacing each cluster is additionally designed. It uses this method as an associate's Central Management Server (CMS), and its main goal is to improve performance by reducing the everchanging CH topology. The CH method is used in the 2-head rule network to avoid any kind of offensive model and also to avoid latency and energy. This will make the node even faster. The Network Simulator 2 (NS 2) is used to simulate the predictive rule and compare it with the Weight-based Cluster (WBC), Primary and Secondary Weight-based Cluster (PSWBC). The designed cluster methodology implemented in the test system ensures secure transmission and further reduces routing, delay, and power overhead, improving topology efficiency. There is continuous debate on the role of digital media tools in art and design Higher Education, and in particular their potential contribution towards teaching and learning. The related literature indicates that there is a dichotomy between digital and traditional tools. This study investigates the views of a cohort of art and design students who undertook a specific instructional task, but instead of using paper and pencil, they used iPads. It is claimed that this computer tablet has considerable potential to enhance teaching and learning, and this study sought to investigate this claim. Inductive qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the interviews provided by 32 ( n = 32) students. Based on the categories that emerged from the analysis of interviews, and within the parameters of this study, the main inference is that the relationship between digital and traditional tools can be better understood as complementary rather than as a dichotomy. Studies are actively ongoing for better understanding and strengthening the capabilities of researchers. To do so requires an accurate diagnosis and analysis of such researchers. Therefore, data of each researcher must be collected and be identified in a big-data environment. Consequently, researcher-name identification has emerged as an important issue. This paper proposes a framework for collecting, refining, identifying, and publicly offering researcher data. For identifying authors' name, the proposed framework extracts timeline based patterns that make help to identify the same name authors with their representative attributes such as emails and affiliations. The results of the proposed framework based on timeline patterns, show a 69.5 % average author-identification rate given a group of otherwise unidentified authors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article discusses the new electronic publication process of the journal "American Meteorological Society" (AMS). The electronic publication process involves submitting the manuscript at the AMS Web site, converting the author's files to a single portable document format (PDF) file for peer review, and copying, editing and typesetting of the paper. The author declares that the new electronic manuscript submission system allowed rapid turnaround time. Moreover, it enabled the processing of over 5000 upload packages since its introduction. Electronic laboratory-based reporting, developed by the UPMC Health System, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was evaluated to determine if it could be integrated into the conventional paper-based reporting system. We reviewed reports of 10 infectious diseases from 8 UPMC hospitals that reported to the Allegheny County Health Department in southwestern Pennsylvania during January 1-November 26, 2000. Electronic reports were received a median of 4 days earlier than conventional reports. The completeness of reporting was 74% (95% confidence interval [CI] 66% to 81%) for the electronic laboratory-based reporting and 65% (95% CI 57% to 73%) for the conventional paper-based reporting system (p>0.05). Most reports (88%) missed by electronic laboratory-based reporting were caused by using free text. Automatic reporting was more rapid and as complete as conventional reporting. Using standardized coding and minimizing free text usage will increase the completeness of electronic laboratory-based reporting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
