Abstract: The article offers information on the development of a database of diazotrophs in the global ocean. It states that the database provide information on abundances, biomass, and nitrogen fixation rates of diazotrophs. It mentions that the database could be used for the spatial and temporal studies on distribution and variation of dinitrogen (N<subscript>2</subscript>) fixation and for validation of biogeochemical models.
