This paper aims to study the level of social eco-literacy around sustainable development among teachers at secondary school level (ESO), and to understand how they incorporate this into their educational practice, in order to better understand the theoretical-practical state of sustainability in education in Spain. A questionnaire was created to study the level of ecosocial literacy among teachers at secondary school level (O = .89). The sample is made up of secondary school teachers (N = 826), using non-probabilistic snowball sampling, during the 2020-2021 academic year. A descriptive and inferential analysis was performed using Pearson's Chi-square (p < .05), via JAMOVI 2.2.5 and SPSS. The results showed that teachers with a higher degree of knowledge have a tendency to apply active participatory and technology-based methodologies that improve social transformation, encouraging the analysis and critical thinking necessary for students to acquire skills in sustainability. It was also shown that it is necessary to incorporate a sustainability perspective into ongoing training, given the complex, holistic and dynamic current situation, in order to provide responses to the planet's problems. - Abstract
Background: The electroencephalogram (EEG) in the new-born period is highly superior to the clinical exam in the detection and prognosis of brain dysfunctions, since it allows continuous functional documentation of the brain at the patient's bedside in a non-invasive way. However, there is still some disagreement about these findings. Objective: To describe the electroencephalographic findings in newborns with a history of prematurity. Material and methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective study. The inclusion criteria were: newborns with a history of prematurity, regardless of gender, who underwent an EEG from June 2017 to June 2021. Patients with incomplete electroencephalographic records or clinical records without complete data were excluded; patients using sedatives (thiopental, fentanyl, midazolam, diazepam) were eliminated from the study. Results: 107 patients (37 women and 70 men) with a history of prematurity were included, with a mean gestational age at birth of 30.9 WOG ± 3.25. Electroencephalographic findings were normal in 40%, abnormal in 32%, and immature in 28%. The most frequent abnormal finding was focal paroxysmal activity in 86%. 93.4% of the participants presented comorbidities, the most frequent being neurological. Conclusion: Preterm neonates are at high risk of neurologic sequelae, and EEG is a sensitive method for assessing neuromotor and cognitive prognosis. In our study population, one-third had abnormal findings. Early postnatal screening is helpful, but additional records are usually needed to detect high-risk newborns. It would be important to continue studying this line of research in pediatrics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

HEART assist devices , *CARDIOPULMONARY resuscitation , *HEART failure - Abstract
Advanced heart failure is becoming more frequent and, in this population, left ventricular assist devices have emerged in the last thirty years as bridge-to-transplant or destination therapy for those with a contraindication for transplant. These devices are continuous flow, contrary to normal hemodynamic physiology, which leads to associated complications with the interaction between the device and the patient, a phenomenon known as “haemocompatibility”. One of its implications is the absence of a central pulse and the need to measure blood pressure through infrequent methods such as Doppler. Various complications are frequently associated with this and can be grouped under the mnemonic A2B2C2D2, including those specific and related to the device. Each of these must be recognized for early and prompt diagnosis and treatment, including prompt cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if indicated, to impact the survival of these patients. - Abstract
Objective: Generate recommendations for the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of chronic hyperkalemia. Method: This consensus was made by nephrologists and cardiologists following the GRADE methodology. Results: Chronic hyperkalemia can be defined as a biochemical condition with or without clinical manifestations characterized by a recurrent elevation of serum potassium levels that may require pharmacological and or non-pharmacological intervention. It can be classified as mild (K+ 5.0 to < 5.5 mEq/L), moderate (K+ 5.5 to 6.0 mEq/L) or severe (K+ > 6.0 mEq/L). Its incidence and prevalence have yet to be determined. Risk factors: chronic kidney disease, chronic heart failure, diabetes mellitus, age = 65 years, hypertension, and drugs that inhibit the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAASi), among others. There is no consensus for the management of chronic hyperkalemia. The suggested pattern for patients is to identify and eliminate or control risk factors, provide advice on potassium intake and, for whom it is indicated, optimize RAASi therapy, administer oral potassium binders and correct metabolic acidosis. Conclusions: The recommendation is to pay attention to the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of chronic hyperkalemia, especially in patients with risk factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TRANSITIONAL justice , *VIOLENCE , *SOCIAL problems , *MEMORY , *COGNITIVE ability - Abstract
In a context marked by various transitional justice processes and still affected by dynamics of violence, in this article, we analyze psychosocial dimensions related to forgiveness and memory in experiences of members of social organizations who are victims of the Colombian armed conflict. The aim is to explore cognitive, emotional, and attitudinal processes that hinder or enable forgiveness. A mixed-methodology was used, with two studies conducted in the departments of Atlántico and Caldas. In the first study, a phenomenological design was applied to uncover ideas and emotions regarding memory and forgiveness among leaders of victim collectives. In the second study, a non-experimental design was implemented to analyze the interaction between three factors explaining the disposition to forgive (DP): enduring resentment (RD), sensitivity to circumstances (SC), and unconditional forgiveness (PI). The qualitative study revealed meanings surrounding memory that constrain forgiveness (RD, exclusive victim beliefs, and perceived obstacles to the effectiveness of transitional justice measures), as well as memory resignifications that promote forgiveness (understanding of the conflict, inclusive victim beliefs, memory linked to transitional justice, and PI). The quantitative study indicated that SC explains PI, while RD poses an obstacle. The research progresses towards a deeper comprehension of the connection between memory and forgiveness in transitional settings, unveiling challenges in effectively managing memory with forgiveness in mind. It highlights the significance of addressing RD and fostering SC to facilitate forgiveness, not only at the national level but also at the local and regional scales. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

HISTORY education , *HIGHER education , *CONSCIOUSNESS - Abstract
In this research, the opinions, appreciations, and assessments of students enrolled in History subjects are analyzed. The objective is to inquire into the meanings that they assign to their experiences in the courses, based on identifying the educational strategies used and their scope, analyzing if teaching is linked to a traditional paradigm or a critical-reflexive one, whether it favors the development of historical thought and consciousness or not, as well as the formative meaning that students give to the discipline. The work is the product of research with a mixed methodological approach that addresses the problem with high school students of a private institution in Mexico City. Among the findings, a higher incidence of traditional practices is identified in the previous school trajectory, while in the current courses a primarily critical-reflexive approach is observed, which impacts the learning process, motivation, and formative sense that students concede. The urgent need to transform educational practices and incorporate strategies aimed at promoting the development of historical thought capable of generating historical awareness is evident, in order to train individuals capable of positioning themselves critically and becoming agents of change in social reality. - Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the training path of teachers who decide to continue their teacher training with a master’s degree in education and to talk about how research is taught at this level of training. The routes and methodologies created and implemented by teacher trainers to teach research are reviewed based on the premise that teaching produces specific knowledge which is transmitted by those who teach. In addition, some reflections -from the teachers in training- about research learning are discussed. These analyses are rooted in a chain of projects -which have been developed to research the field of teacher training in Colombia- resulting from the doctoral research “Existing links between postgraduate teacher training and the elementary and high school teaching profession in two Colombian cities: Pasto and Valledupar”. However, this reflective and critical exploration is limited to reporting the research results of one of these projects: “Narrative understandings of research in postgraduate teacher education”; which was developed between 2018 and 2019. Data collection and analysis were based on the narrative accounts of three teachers who graduated from the master’s Program in Education. The resulting analyses of the teaching of research concern the need to be able to involve it in teaching practices, in the exercise of teaching knowledge from other places and incorporating new pedagogical, didactic and research elements into daily teaching practice. INTERNALIZING behavior , *PARENT attitudes , *PARENTING , *EMOTIONS - Abstract
Parental attitudes towards parenting affect the manifestation of emotional and behavioral problems in the first years of a child's life. The objective of this study is to examine the association between parental attitudes towards parenting, emotional problems, and behavioral problems in children from 2 to 5 years of age from Sincelejo, Colombia. It is a quantitative approach. In total 183 caregivers were intentionally selected. Participants fulfilled: a sociodemographic questionnaire, a parental attitudes questionnaire and a child behavior checklist. In the results it was evidenced that sleep problems appeared in a negative relationship with discipline and commitment, this means that the less discipline and commitment, the more sleep problems. And with respect to externalized problems, it was found that attention problems, oppositional problems and aggressive behavior were related to little discipline and commitment. The results found allow us to reflect on the importance of discipline and commitment in the upbringing of children in early childhood. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

FOOD tourism , *TOURIST attractions , *VALUE chains , *TOURISM , *GASTRONOMY - Abstract
In recent years, gastronomic tourism is a tourism product that has experienced a remarkable growth in tourism destinations of diverse nature. This is due to the fact that gastronomy has become an element of territorial identity that is highly valued by the demand in the development of tourism experiences that pursue knowledge of others through tourism. In addition, the transversality of gastronomy in tourism gives differentiation possibilities for any type of destination. For this reason, the consideration of gastronomy as a tourism resource implies that tourism destinations should identify the gastronomic attractions in the territory with the aim of propose tourism activities based on gastronomy. This identification usually refers to the concept of the value chain. Thus, the main objective of this article is to propose a methodology for analysing the elements of that value chain, going deeper into the concept itself, as well as into those of tourism potential and functionality, which are considered key aspects in the definition of the structure of the elements as a part of this chain. The methodological proposal can be used to analyze the structure of gastronomic tourism experiences and to identify the elements of the chain and the way they interrelate in the territory for the development of these experiences. In this text, we propose that the basis of René Girard's mimetic theory, which allowed him to construct a "fundamental anthropology", can be found in Aesthetic Realism. We will expose some characteristic notes of the mimetic relation, to then be able to postulate that Girard opposes not only the romantic lie, which avoids accepting mimesis as a structuring element of desire but also the impressionistic falsification that hides the founding violence of societies. For this, we will analyze his theory of mimetic violence in two of his most important books, Romantic lie & romanesque truth [Deceit, Desire and the Novel: Selfand Other in Literary Structure] and Violence and the Sacred, and we will expose it facing the concepts of Romanticism, Realism and Impressionism, taken from the history of art and literature. Finally, we will briefly mention the absence of empirical evidence, as a criticism of Girardian fundamental anthropology, to conclude that this does not prevent us from speaking of realism in this theory. HISPANIC American poetry - Abstract
The Uruguayan writer Blanca Luz Brum was an active part of the cultural and socio-political life of different Latin American cities for several decades. However, her ideological estrangement from socialism, as well as her intense love life, earned her disqualification and oblivion. The aim of this paper is to rescue her figure through the analysis of her texts published in the magazine Amauta between 1926 and 1929, taking into account the author's poetics and the role that her poems occupy in the magazine. The study will reveal the double aspect of her poetry: one that is political, gimmicky and has a propagandistic and mobilizing character; and the personal one, which is more complex, deep and reflects the most intimate side of Blanca Luz. - Abstract
Censorship is a phenomenon that has been present in the history of reading and publishing since books began to consolidate as the preferred format for the transmission of thought. Powers of all kinds, both civil and ecclesiastical, combated any form of deviation or dissent from official doctrines through the prohibition of works and the persecution of authors, printers, booksellers, and publishers. With several centuries of validity, its exercise was an insurmountable and pernicious obstacle in the process of transferring any type of information. When it had seemed to have disappeared thanks to the generalization of human rights, mainly those related to freedom of expression, it has now returned in our days with special virulence in the form of revisions of classic literature according to the patterns of political correctness under the purging, elimination, or prohibition of works in public and school libraries in response to the demands of conservative or extreme right-wing pressure groups. We are at a time when these new forms of censorship, open in some cases and subliminal and subtle in others, threaten to hinder not only the freedom of access to information, but also the cultural memory of the places where they are exercised. Purpose: The aim of the study was to measure work commitment in a sample of Mexican workers, working remotely due to the SARS-COV-2 confinement, in order to observe if psychological capital as well as resources for remote work can have an influence on the level of commitment they exhibit. Methodological design: A non-experimental, crosssectional design was used, applying a set of scales to a non-probabilistic sample of 404 workers (57.2% women, 42.8% men; with an average age of 35.82 years). Work commitment was evaluated using the UWES-9 scale, translated and adapted by Villa et al. (2019); psychological capital was assessed with the PCQ-12 scale, translated and adapted by Santana-Cárdenas et al. (2018), and a list of resources for remote work was created. Results: A structural equation model was proposed showing a mediation effect of psychological capital between resources and commitment; additionally, we observed that the level of engagement shown did not appear different to studies conducted prior to the pandemic. Research limitations: The measurement model did not match the original structure of the scales, hence, further studies are suggested to explore the relevance of their use. Findings: The results highlight the importance of proper adaptation to remote work that enhances workers’ psychological capital and contributes to maintaining their work commitment. WATER management , *NATIONAL territory , *WATER-pipes , *PRODUCTION quantity , *PANORAMAS - Abstract
Water management is one of the concerns that companies must prioritize. The hydrocarbon industries are not the exception, they leave behind a high quantity of production water. This review presents some of the most important strategies used globally to avoid the strong effects on the environment and reuse this resource as much as possible. In addition, the importance of water management nationally and in the hydrocarbon, industry is analyzed. For this, 52 documents related to the disposal of production waters were taken into account. More than 80 % of these documents have been published in the last five years, with special emphasis on Colombian publications, although few are worldwide references since they seek to establish a specific panorama in the national territory. From the study, we have been able to conclude that in Colombia, reinjection stands out among the main water management strategies. Ecopetrol reused 111.3 million m3 of water in 2021, which is equivalent to 74 % of the total volume of operations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Studies of residential segregation in Latin America have been approached mainly from socioeconomic criteria, but in recent years, this phenomenon has gained relevance from its subjective dimension. The objective of this article is to analyze the effect of the new expression of socio-spatial segregation in the city imagined and lived by its residents, having Ibagué, Tolima, Colombia as case study. To achieve this, the theoretical analysis was made from the sense of place and socio-spatial segregation, and the methodology was developed from the qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and the method of data collection was applied using mind maps. The most relevant evidence shows that the practices of the actors, understood as territoriality, are related to the relative position that they occupy according to the socioeconomic stratification, i.e., the interviewed groups, through the space they inhabit, use the imagination to portray the socio-spatial segregation they live in the city, which generates a social space. - Abstract
BACKGROUND: Streptococcus intermedius together with S. anginosus and S. constellatus form the group S. anginosus (previously called S. milleri), anteriorly considered a type of S. viridans. Sometimes they can cause infections with a tendency to abscess at the liver and brain, but it is rare to find it as an etiologic agent of endocarditis, spondylodiscitis and epidural abscess. Therefore, the coexistence of the three locations is exceptional. CLINICAL CASE: A 72-year-old male patient was hospitalized because of decreased level of consciousness with aphasia. The patient reported low back pain with mechanical characteristics. During the first day, he presented a feverish peak and blood cultures were extracted in which Streptococcus intermedius grew. On lumbar spine MRI, spondylodiscitis was reported on L4-L5 and abscess in the anterior epidural space at the L5 level. A transesophageal echocardiogram was also performed, which showed two warts in the aortic and mitral valves. It was decided to give surgical treatment with valve replacement with a metallic mitral prosthesis. The epidural abscess was cured after antibiotic treatment. CONCLUSIONS: In a patient with S. intermedius endocarditis, the aggressiveness of the germ and the tendency to form abscesses in different locations must be taken into account. The presence of low back pain forces to rule out spondylodiscitis and an epidural abscess. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ADSORPTION kinetics , *ACTIVATED carbon , *SOLID waste , *AGRICULTURAL wastes , *STATISTICAL errors , *SUGARCANE , *DIFFUSION - Abstract
Adsorption is one of the processes that can be used in industries to reduce the presence of pollutants in their effluents; the substitution of activated carbon by agro-industrial solid wastes has been explored, showing high efficiency in the removal of these compounds. To scale up this process, kinetic and equilibrium models are required for each adsorbate-adsorbent pair. In this work, equilibrium and kinetics were evaluated for sorghum-methylene blue and sugarcane bagassemethylene blue agricultural residues in batch system with biomass concentration of 10 g/L, agitation of 80 rpm, pH of 5,5 u and particle size (0,35 - 0,63) mm at three different temperatures. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich models were selected for isotherm representation and the pseudo first order, pseudo second order, Elovich and intraparticle diffusion models for process kinetics. The Temkin model presented the best fit to the isotherms, while the adsorption kinetics was best described by the Pseudo second order model, considering the criteria of correlation coefficient and statistical errors: sum of squares of the error and average relative error. These results indicate that adsorption is favorable and occurs by chemisorption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Cueva San Francisco (CSF) in Chiapas, Mexico, is considered a winter refuge for long-distance migratory bats of the species Tadarida brasiliensis. The size and composition of the colony varies seasonally likely due to local, dispersal, or migratory movements, which could result in variation in the wing morphology of the colony of T. brasiliensis. Wing morphological variation of males and females was estimated based on the length of the forearm and third and fifth fingers of the wing of adult bats, and variation in body mass of males of T. brasiliensis of the CSF. The specific objectives were: (i) to estimate if the wing morphology of the colony of T. brasiliensis varies seasonally (spring, summer, autumn, and winter); (ii) to determine if the wing morphology of the colony is related to sex, and (iii) to evaluate if the body mass of males varies seasonally. Monthly captures were conducted from March 2018 to November 2019, and the wings of 1580 adult individuals and body mass of 716 males were measured. Seasonal morphological variation and differences in wings between sexes were observed. Likewise, seasonal variation in body mass was recorded in males. The possible association of the morphological variation of wings and the type of movement that individuals can perform more frequently, and the variation of body mass of males with food availability and their reproductive status is discussed. - Abstract
The article sought to interpret the COVID-19 pandemic through the generalization of social vulnerability, converted into a sociological concept, as it was considered as a social fact caused by the crisis of the labor society, whose basis was the management of risks and dangers, through state welfare institutions, which later, in the neoliberal economic model, it was individualized, diluting the state responsibility to attend to the dangers derived from the pandemic, exercising only its function of surveillance and control over individuals on the part of a neoliberal State, which ceased to consider them as citizens, defined by rights, which were protected with the existence of the welfare state. - Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this review was to identify the perceptions of nursing students about the safe administration of medications. Method: Original empirical research that describes a method to incorporate concepts of safety in the administration of medicines in nursing education and examine the perceptions of nursing students for review. A search of four electronic databases (Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, MedLine / PubMed and Google Scholar), as well as a manual search to identify original research published between 2017 and 2021. Analysis guidelines were adopted (PRISMA) as the preferred reporting element for systematic reviews and meta-analyzes. Results: Twelve original research articles were included for review. Two methods were identified for incorporating safety in the administration of medications in nursing education: process factors or systems in the clinical setting and educational factors in the academic setting. The use of interventions varied, but all focused on analyzing students' experiences to promote skills and knowledge in different settings (academic and clinical). Conclusion: Nursing educators must promote theory and clinical experiences in a comprehensive way so that the student learns and internalizes the attitudes, behaviors and values of the profession with a focus of responsibility in all aspects. The perception and training of students could lead to changes in the way drugs are administered, as well as decrease the rate of adverse events in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COMMUNICATION , *ESSAYS , *RADIOS , *DIALOGUE , *EPOCHE - Abstract
In this article we analyze De poetas a conspiradores by Simón Pérez y Soto, as historical source. In this sense, we argue that this author wrote his novel like a new means of communication that would broaden the scope of his political position opposed to the Revolución en Marcha of President López Pumarejo which he had already manifested in press notes, essays, and radio allocutions. To achieve this purpose, we approach the novel with an inter and intratextual perspective, that is, proposing a permanent dialogue between the novelistic plot, the published object, and the primary sources of that epoch. In the information units that make up the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) Library System, the task of guiding and training users on the use of information is a complex process, due to the specificity of the users' information needs. The information systems that are used in the Institute require the personal librarian to have specific information skills for access, evaluation, organization and use of information through information technologies. However, there are important challenges, such as the lack of definition of the professional profile of the medical librarian, because it is essential for the staff to efficiently satisfy the demands and needs of users according to their various profiles. Objective: To know the nurses' perception of the factors that influence the safe administration of medications in the work context of the General University Hospital of Elda (Alicante), Spain. Method: This is a qualitative phenomenological study through interviews semi-structured in which 15 nurses chosen by deliberate sampling participated. Results: The participants expressed concern about the performance of the medication administration procedures, which made it possible to perceive safety as the greatest concern in the study unit. A main category called "knowing" was established, which encompasses all the reflections about the nurse's performance during the medication administration process. The following subcategories are developed from this main category: work overload, insufficient training, distractions, and communication and information failures. Conclusion: Knowing the nurses' perception of the factors that influence the safe administration of medications could facilitate the use of instruments to standardize and reduce variability in the safe administration of medications. As well as improving conditions in work environments and not favoring social, personal and professional stigmatization due to care error. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: To ascertain where and how inhalers were removed after finalizing their use, and to determine how the information about recycling was received, as well as the importance of having reusable inhalers. Methods: Epidemiological, observational, cross-sectional and multicenter study performed in the community pharmacies of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, through the application of a voluntary and anonymous questionnaire that analyzed the knowledge and attitudes regarding the recycling of inhalers among adult users treated with inhalers. Results: From 22 community pharmacies, a total of 303 subjects (mean age 57.5±19.9 years; 46.70 men; mean time of inhalers' use 9.6±9.8 years; reason for use: asthma: 46.20, COPD: 25.70) were included. Overall, 66.20 and 67.50 of users gave a high importance to the recycling of inhalers and the availability of having a monthly rechargeable inhaler every 6 months, respectively. With regard to recycling, 42.90 of users recycled in the SIGRE point of the pharmacy. Only 330 of users had been informed about the place of delivering the inhaler, and in this context, in most cases this was performed by the pharmacist (76.30). Conclusions: Despite the majority of users consider that it is important the recycling of inhalers and the availability of re-usable inhalers, only one third refer having been informed about the place of delivering the inhaler. Information campaigns about the importance of recycling of inhalers and how to do it are warranted. In this setting, the community pharmacist could play a key role. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The study's objective is to analyze the correspondence of the role of the ideal teacher with the characteristics of the socio-constructivist paradigm, from the perspective of the diverse participant profiles in this research: graduate students in elementary education (initial and final courses, and master's program); teachers searching for employment; experienced teachers; and teacher educators. A qualitative study with a phenomenological design, using discussion groups, was based on inductive/deductive categories. The results confirm the initial hypothesis, converging in a socio-constructivist pedagogical model and the impossibilities of its implementation in the classroom. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COLLEGE teachers , *SPIRITUALITY , *SELF-consciousness (Awareness) , *TEACHERS , *COVID-19 - Abstract
The proposed objective is to identify the level of spirituality in university teachers during the context of the pandemic. The correlational descriptive quantitative methodology was used with Mann Whitney's U, Spearman's rho and Kruskal Wallis's H tests in 85 university professors from the Faculties of Health and Humanities of a public entity. Applying the Spirituality scale, the information was analyzed using SPSS, version 24. The results show high levels of spirituality in 96% of teachers. There are statistically significant differences in the scores with respect to age and sex in the spiritual needs dimension, with men and the group between 30 and 39 years old having the highest average (p <0.05). The self-awareness dimension predominated at the highest level. Conclusions: spirituality, as a construction given from beliefs, practices and own experiences, represents a relevant element for the care of being; considering it essential to face difficulties, especially in apparently disruptive situations such as COVID-19. In the experience of the pandemic, teachers adopt spirituality as a part of their being that gives value to themselves, guides the search for harmony with nature and focuses on their goals. We analyzed narratives and practices of former Farc-EP guerrillas regarding socioeconomic initiatives during their collective reincorporation, in spaces in the Colombian Caribbean as defined by the peace agreement, in order to understand territorial reconfigurations during the transition from war to peacebuilding. We did an ethnographic study with 24 former guerrillas involved in socioeconomic initiatives developed after disarmament was conducted. In conclusion, the territorialities and reterritorializations generated by former guerrilla members during the post-agreement period show processes of representation, redistribution, and recognition aimed at peace based on social justice; they also contribute to the restoration of social relations in areas historically affected by the war, as a pedagogical and political example for the region and the country. CRONBACH'S alpha , *TRUST , *RESENTMENT , *TRANSITIONAL justice , *RECONCILIATION - Abstract
Introduction: Ten years after the implementation of Law 1448 of 2011 for the comprehensive reparation of victims in Colombia, we developed non-experimental quantitative research to explore the interaction between feelings towards reconciliation (coexistence and reconstruction of trust) and the lasting resentment in victims of the conflict mobilized collectively in transitional justice scenarios. Method: We used data from two samples of participants from the departments of Caldas (N = 342) and Atlántico (N = 305). Results: We confirmed the scales on feelings toward reconciliation and lasting resentment, whose reliability was analyzed using Cronbach's alpha and omega coefficients. Subsequently, we performed a structural equation analysis and confirmed the following hypotheses: (1) victims experience more feelings of co-existence than feelings for rebuilding trust, and (2) Lasting resentment is an obstacle to developing feelings towards reconciliation. Conclusions: We highlight that participants experience more feelings of coexistence and trust than they do lasting resentment; and that coexistence allows for the channeling of lasting resentment. These findings have considerable implications for the development of feelings towards reconciliation in transitional justice settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Reading takes on a multifaceted nature subject to varied interpretations depending on the perspectives from which it is approached, but there is a general consensus regarding its virtues and benefits for the population in general and for the development of culture in particular. The technological changes that reading has undergone during the last decade, which involve all the parts of its value chain, have added functionalities, features, and modalities that considerably expand the range of content available and its forms of consumption. One can speak of reading "in the outdoors," first to give a name to these new practices, and second to refer to the interpretation made of them according to the available measurement tools. The problem arises when analyzing the process by which one goes from the act of reading to the affirmation of "I have read," which is particularly important in the case of books. Books are accepted as the most refined expression of reading practice in the collective unconscious. This is because of their "chronodegradable" condition concerning memory: statements about what is read can refer to inexistent works and depend on the memory's weight and intensity, as numerous experiences and investigations have shown. Despite everything, reading of books represents a utilization of essential skills, especially in the university environment in which the book is experiencing a decisive displacement in favor of other, shorter and more cognitively accessible genres, such as the scientific journal. For all these reasons, suitable procedures must be initiated in the university setting not only to recover the role of prescription and recommendation inherent in teaching practices, especially in the Humanities and Social Sciences, but also to stimulate interest and student use of a genre relegated to an increasingly less consistent voluntarism. - Abstract
We present the first records of the Hook-billed Kite (Chondrohierax uncinatus) for the Cuitzeo lake in Michoacán. We observed a pair of Hook-billed Kites in April and September 2018, perched in the same woodlot of Prosopis laevigata (mezquite). In September the female was observed preying on the invasive Rumina decollata snail. This is noteworthy as this invasive snail can attain high densities and is harmful to biodiversity as it predates other gasteropods and is a crop pest. This record of the Hook-billed Kite raised to thirteen the number of diurnal raptor species recorded for the Cuitzeo area. Considering that it is unusual to observe cases in which an invasive species is predated by a native species, future studies should examine this biotic interaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SELF-efficacy in students , *SECURITY (Psychology) , *LEARNING , *BASIC education , *TEACHER educators - Abstract
The article analyzes the concepts and characteristics of the beliefs of self-efficacy and self-regulation in the students, their link with the teachers' beliefs of self-efficacy from a sociocognitive perspective, the ways in which the latter can influence the formation of the students' beliefs, as well as the conditions that favor or not the development of these, the function and the input they have in the learning process; finally an intervention proposal is presented in order to reorient the educative practices. The objective was to analyze the formal and non-formal training factors associated with the development of self-efficacy beliefs and their involvement in learning processes. The work is product of a qualitative methodological approach that addresses the postgraduate level with teachers of Basic Education, students of the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (México). Among the findings, it was possible to identify that the successes contribute to generating a feeling of security with the presence of academic autonomy traits and the congruence between the beliefs of self-efficacy and the performance achieved in the classroom; in addition, the ones that do not have self-efficacy beliefs, generate an insecurity feeling that prevents them from being purposeful and innovative. Objective: To identify and analyze experiences and opinions that cancer patients without a curative option have regarding their palliative care and end-of-life wishes. Methods: Qualitative study with a critical-constructivist perspective. Twenty-two in-depth interviews were conducted with patients between 28 and 78 years old, who suffered from some of the most frequent cancers (breast, cervix, colon, stomach, among others, with a life expectancy between six and twelve months) treated at the Hospital Universitario San José de Popayán, Hospital Universitario San Ignacio, and the National Institute of Cancerology in Bogotá. Results: Two categories of patient experiences and desires were identified: The first category is related to the care and information patients wish to receive from the health personnel. The second category is related to the health system, which includes administrative problems with the EPS; the importance of providing continuity in medical care; the opportunity in the delivery of medications and the assignment of appointments and the hospital infrastructure directed towards the Institution where patients wish to be. Conclusions: The results of the study contribute to the understanding of experiences that patients with incurable cancer have had with the health system. It is necessary to educate health workers about the need to investigate and discuss of the patient's wishes in order to offer them better options that optimize their quality of life. It is necessary to improve the infrastructure of palliative care units and emergency rooms, as well as the appointment scheduling and the timely delivery of medications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
BACKGROUND: Leishmaniasis is found with a wide distribution around the world. An overall global prevalence of 12 million people affected is estimated. There are various endemic areas, such as the Mediterranean countries, specifically Spain. It is an opportunistic infection that is more common in people with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Visceral leishmaniasis has a higher incidence than cutaneous leishmaniasis in HIV patients. Cutaneous leishmaniasis is an infrequent form. CLINICAL CASE: A 32-year-old male, formerly addicted to intravenous drugs, diagnosed with HIV infection and chronic liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus. He was hospitalized because of an exophytic lesion, exudative ulceration in the antero-lateral face of the left lower limb, seven months in evolution. After being physical examined, the patient was only found with hepatosplenomegaly. A biopsy of the skin lesion showed inflammatory infiltrate in the dermis with histiocytes and abundant leishmania in the cytoplasm. Bone marrow puncture was negative for Leishmania. The patient was treated with intramuscular meglumine antimoniate (Glucantime) at usual doses for five weeks. The patient responded well to treatment; no pathogens were detected in subsequent biopsies. CONCLUSIONS: In such a country as Spain where Leishmania is endemic, the presence of an HIV patient with a long-lasting papulonodular lesion in exposed skin, which can ulcerate, should make us suspect leishmaniasis. Therefore, a diagnostic biopsy should be performed for confirmation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BUSINESS success , *TOTAL quality management , *INDUSTRIAL management , *ENVIRONMENTAL quality , *BUSINESS size - Abstract
Increasing the productivity of an economy requires improvements in the productivity of its companies, and therefore greater business success. It should be noted that a company on the road to success is more productive. The objective of this paper is to analyse how internal and external factors influence the labour productivity of companies. This paper provides evidence that recognises the importance of the quality of business management, on the one hand, and the factors related to the functioning of markets and institutions, on the other, in determining the productivity of companies. The results show that business management practices and the quality of the business environment jointly determine the productivity of companies. However, there are differences according to the size of the companies, so that smaller companies have lower business productivity that can be increased if they improve their management practices and their physical capital endowment per worker. In addition, if institutions invest in improving the environment in which businesses operate, they are more likely to achieve greater business success. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article analyzes the cultural imposition of power discourses through the ritualization of beauty in contemporary society. Denounce the injuries that beauty pageants cause against human rights. It points out the sociocultural alienation that the commercialization of the woman's body implies. Along with this, it underlines the relationships that are established between the reification of human assets and the implementation of the social normalization that hegemonies require. Consequently, we promote the right of communities to organize themselves through the configuration of epistemic foundations that animate social relations. In order to support the claims, we examined The National Beauty Contest in Colombia. The study is inductive and descriptive, from a qualitative research approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Prone position (PP) is a therapeutic alternative widely used and recommended in patients with COVID-19. Although PP is a non-invasive procedure, it is complex and could be associated with complications such as the development of pressure ulcers (PU). We aimed to propose a standardized nursing care plan in terms of NANDA-International, NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification) and NOC (Nursing Outcomes Classification) to prevent PU secondary to the PP in people with COVID-19. Content synthesis: In patients with COVID-19, in addition to risk factors such as advanced age and the presence of comorbidities, PP contributes to the presence of pressure ulcer risk nursing diagnoses [00249], of deterioration of skin [00047] and tissue [00248] integrity. On the other hand, the nursing intervention for the prevention of pressure ulcers [3540], due to the specificity and scientific basis of its activities, is key to minimize the development of this complication, improve the quality of care and the prognosis in this type of patients. Finally, to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care, we propose the nursing results (NOC): consequences of immobility: physiological [0204] and tissue integrity: skin and mucous membranes [1101]. Conclusion: PP is a recommended adjunctive therapy for the management of critically ill COVID-19 patients due to its benefits to improve lung function. However, it is associated with adverse effects such as PU. This article presents recommendations based on a narrative review for a better implementation of preventive nursing care that reduces the frequency of PU in this population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
For years, much of the advances in medicine and pharmacology have focused on the study of intracellular signaling pathways, giving into a better understanding of the pathologies and formulation of new therapeutic and diagnostic options. This article seeks to provide a synthetic and practical explanation about the function of the main intracellular signaling pathways, exemplifying the importance of each of these through the pathophysiological explanation of various diseases in which there is a prominent role. Among the signaling pathways treated in this work are those activated by protein kinase A (PKA), protein kinase C (PKC), phosphatodylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K), Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CaMK), the tyrosine kinase (TK) family, the Ras superfamily, as well as the MAPK pathway. In addition, other components of importance for signaling pathways are addressed, such as the ubiquitin-proteosome system, integrins, as well as cyclins, cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) and other cell cycle regulators. Some of the diseases treated within the text are diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, various cardiac arrhythmias, cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, nephrotic syndrome, etc., which are diseases of great relevance in current medicine. VIRTUAL communities , *CULTURAL identity , *MYTHOLOGY , *RELIGIONS , *DIGITAL technology - Abstract
Stardom is a paradigmatic example of contemporary mythology. Through their function as semiotic-cultural and somatic-emotional receptacles, the stars serve as referents and mirror of the social collective that engenders them. Within digital communities and through interactive technology, celebrity liturgy, fan rituals, and the symbolism of this massive secular religion reach its zenith. Our first goal is to analyze the parallels between stardom and religion. To do this, we will place idols in a theoretical framework and describe the transformations that digital fan communities are undergoing. Our second objective is to interrelate the transmedia phenomenon of Rosalía's album El mal querer with the notion of "hyperculturality" proposed by Byung-Chul Han. We will expose how the conceptual universe generated by the Catalan artist reflects the transformations that identities attend in the globalized, hyper-connected and digital culture. The article concludes by developing the idea of stardom as modern mythology and the importance of interactive digital technology in the transformation of online audiences. Likewise, the global and intergenerational dissemination of Rosalía's work is symptomatic of the non-fundamentalist model of globalized culture, as well as the prominence of the traditional, the consumption of the aesthetic-cultural and the active role of audiences in the configuration of contemporary cultural identity.
