El presente artículo pretende ser una primera contribución al conocimiento de la fabricación, comercialización y uso del papel como materia scriptoria en la Castilla bajomedieval. El estudio del caso burgalés a través de la abundante y variada documentación de su archivo catedralicio ha permito identificar la importancia de su judería como centro productor de papel «hispano-árabe». Aunque la mayoría de la documentación medieval que se conserva está escrita en pergamino, paulatinamente desde fines del siglo XIII y en el siglo XIV el papel se convierte en el soporte principal. Al mismo tiempo, se utilizó otro tipo de papel, importado desde el sur de Francia, que testimonia las estrechas relaciones comerciales y políticas de ambos reinos.This article is an initial attempt to study the manufacturing, commercialization and use of paper as a material of support for script in Late Medieval Castile. Through abundant and variegated records in the Cathedral archive, the Burgos case study has enabled us to identify the importance of its Jewish Quarter as a producer of the type of paper know as «Hispano-Arabic». Even if the majority of medieval documents are written on parchment, gradually from the end of the thirteenth century and especially from the fourteenth century on, paper becomes the main material on which they are written. Furthermore, a different type of paper from the south of France was also used, which testifies to the close political and trade relations which existed between the two kingdoms.

Johnson-Laird and Byrne proposed in 2002 that, beyond the two traditional interpretations that are assigned to if, that is, the material and the biconditional ones, eight more combinations of possibilities related to their meaning can be attributed to this kind of sentences. The initial hypothesis in the present study is that not all of those ten interpretations should be usual in academic texts, since some of them resort, for example, to figurative language or irony. In this way, a study of a psychology paper is carried out in order to check that hypothesis. The results are that, at least in that paper, the uses of if tend to be linked to the interpretation that both Johnson-Laird and Byrne and the literature in general relate to the biconditional.

El paper dels ausetans a la Segona Guerra Púnica havia estat sempre acceptat i corroborat per les fonts i l’arqueologia. Ara bé, la citació de Livi «Ausetanos prope Hiberum» ha portat a suposar l’existència d’uns altres ausetans a l’Ebre i a fer-los protagonistes dels fets atribuïts pels clàssics. Volem demostrar que les terres del Ter mitjà van ser importants en el conflicte i en les revoltes posteriors, i que és aquest el territori ausetà a què les fonts fan referència, tal com ho demostren els esdeveniments històrics posteriors que culminen amb la fundació d’Auso.

Amate (amatl) is a handmade paper of Mexico made by Otomi Indians. This craft is made from bark of tree bark amate or jonote. It is originally developed in the states of Puebla, Hidalgo and Veracruz especially in San Pablito, Puebla. However, amate paper is sold as background Nahua paintings by artists from the state of Guerrero. Amate paper paintings are a combination of Nahua and Otomi traditions. While there have been some minor innovations, the amate paper is still done with the same basic process used in the pre-Hispanic period by obtaining a classical amate tree bark fiber. This is negatively affecting the ecosystem of the North of Puebla and forcing vendors bark in search of other species, so it is necessary to make paper amate more sustainably, including new types of bark from other species and by-products of agro-industries such as rice, coffee sugar cane, and other types of fiber that have high-availability The objective of this work was to analyze and compare the Chemical pulp of coffee characteristics, as raw material for amate paper of higher quality than that produced from the bark of other species. The results showed that the structural and chemical characteristics of coffee pulp cellulose pulp showed ease of paper making, due to its properties of adherence, formation and agglutination of fibers similar to the high quality of the final product as the amate tree bark-derived paper.

El proceso de mejora de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el contexto universitario ha generado la aplicación de nuevas o mejoradas técnicas docentes, las cuales fomenten una participación activa del alumno y una mayor interacción con el profesor. El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido analizar el grado de satisfacción del alumnado universitario con una de las innovaciones docentes más populares, sobre todo, por su bajo coste y sencillez, que es el one minute paper, la cual registró una alta tasa de participación en el contexto analizado. En particular, esta experiencia docente se hizo en una asignatura de contabilidad en el Grado de Administración y Dirección de Empresas de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.

Este trabalho aborda a história do pan-americanismo a partir da análise de um caso particular: as atividades comerciais e o discurso publicitário da empresa americana denominada National Paper and Type Co. Esta empresa monopolizou o nicho de mercado para exportação de máquinas e produtos para impressão (papel e tinta) fabricados nos Estados Unidos para distribuição em toda a América Latina. Foi a principal fornecedora dos insumos com os quais foram produzidos os jornais mais notáveis da região. Ao dominar esse mercado, construiu o alicerce da estrutura material da esfera pública. Foi uma disseminadora ativa do discurso pan-americano que aproveitou a oportunidade para garantir clientes, promover uma cultura de negócios na América Latina típica da sociedade anglo-saxônica e cultivar uma mentalidade que incentivava o consumo. Promoveu uma avaliação muito importante da América Latina e fortaleceu os elos propostos por essa utopia de proximidade que imaginava uma Pan-América unida. Esse intermediário comercial e cultural construiu uma ponte de comunicação que contribuiria para o fortalecimento de uma esfera pública transnacional

Se presenta Fasti Congressuum, un proyecto digital creado por doctorandos universitarios con el objetivo de difundir congresos y calls for papers relacionados con la Antigüedad. Surgido a raíz de las dificultades de acceso a los mismos por parte de los investigadores, este proyecto se basa en el uso de las humanidades digitales y en el espíritu de trabajo en equipo, aprovechando las ventajas de las redes sociales y contribuyendo a crear una red de difusión internacional. Así, Fasti Congressuum está llegando a una notable cantidad de investigadores mediante la utilización de una web trilingüe dinámica y fácil de consultar, cuyos contenidos son difundidos a través de Facebook, de Twitter y de una newsletter. Estos prometedores resultados, junto con el formato de post (que condensa eficazmente la información imprescindible sobre cada congreso) convierten a Fasti Congressuum en una novedosa herramienta dentro del mundo de la difusión académica de la Antigüedad.

Este artículo presenta un panorama actual de la investigación en el área de Humanidades, en tres países, Argentina, Brasil y Colombia, enfocándose en la producción de artículos académico-científicos. La fábrica de papers hace alusión a las condiciones en las que se inscribe el proceso de producción, publicación y divulgación de artículos en la educación universitaria. Dichas condiciones están vinculadas con la política pública pero también con la lógica de mercado que ha ingresado en el sistema educativo, aunque esta situación no es novedosa en nuestros países; en las últimas décadas se ha comenzado a modificar el foco del qué, cómo, por qué, para qué y para quién se hace ciencia.

We present here thirteen previously unpublished letters from the Hubert Jennings Papers, including twelve letters signed by members of Fernando Pessoa’s extended family, plus one letter drafted by Hubert Jennings himself. This correspondence covers a period of time of almost three years, dating from 10 February 1967 to 15 January 1970. Chronologically situated in between the two previously known letters sent from Michael and Teca (published in Pessoa Plural 8), these new documents greatly enrich our understanding of the relationship between Hubert and Pessoa's family, their joined efforts to secure a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and the early inventory of Pessoa’s archive.

En este trabajo se analiza la valoración que se realiza de la producción científica y tecnológica de postulantes a la Carrera de Investigador Científico (CIC) del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) de Argentina, en la categoría inicial, denominada Investigador Asistente. En particular se discuten los criterios de evaluación explicitados para el ingreso a dicha carrera, en sus diferentes modalidades y áreas del conocimiento, que fueron difundidos por CONICET en las convocatorias 2018 y 2019, los cuales fueron categorizados con fines comparativos para identificar el valor relativo asignado en cada área a la producción científica. Además, a fin de analizar cómo se aplican en las distintas subcomisiones estos criterios generales, se tuvieron en cuenta cuestiones observadas en dictámenes recibidos por postulantes. Para finalizar, se presentan una serie de propuestas que se considera contribuirían a descentrar el lugar del paper como factor central en la evaluación.

This study aims to investigate the similarities and differences between prospective mathematics teachers’ creative thinking skills in paper-pencil test and on a Geogebra-supported environment in terms of problem-posing. This case study used purposive sampling method for determining the participants. Findings revealed that the activities carried out in the GeoGebra-supported environment were insufficient to produce creative problems, and GeoGebra’s main utility to prospective teachers was in identifying their mistakes related to mathematical concepts and discrepancies among numerical values of the problems posed. The reasons for the low achievement in posing problem were discussed: These were; (i) lack of problem-posing experience, (ii) the structure of problem-posing activity, and (iii) prospective teachers’ mathematical content knowledge.

During a conservation project of a luso-oriental altar ivory cross from the 17th century, 59 paper fragments were found on its four level step base, between some of the low relief ivory plates and its wooden sockets of the four level base, and behind some cabochons of the decoration. Some fragments present a watermark and hand writing. These elements, together with the observation of the stains, dimension of fragments and their perforations, lead us to formulate the hypothesis of their having occurred three mountings, in different time periods. The paper characteristics and the history of other materials used in those mountings permit to pinpoint time periods for their occurrence.

Abstract The objective of this short paper was to provide some advice on how to write a geoscience paper of international standard and to warn against some common pitfalls. It is focused on how to structure a paper and stresses the importance of building its contents around a well-defined problem. Furthermore, the importance of moving away from outdated and counterproductive ways of describing and interpreting deformation is emphasized. In particular, describing structures and tectonic evolution in a poorly founded scheme of multiple deformation phases and making stress interpretations from structurally complex and heterogeneous rocks where rotations and stress perturbations are difficult or impossible to account for are strongly discouraged. Instead, I encourage the use of modern structural geology and tectonics ideas that, among other things, allow for composite and overprinting structures to form progressively and diachronously with a wide variation in style and orientation during a single deformation history. Also, more emphasis should be put on strain and kinematics, toning down the use of stress. After all, stress is only observed through strain and kinematics; going from one to the other is not straightforward in general, and particularly difficult in ductilely deformed rocks.

Review of Kristin E. Heyer, James F. Keenan, SJ, and Andrea Vicini, eds., _Building Bridges in Sarajevo: The Plenary Papers from CTEWC 2018

In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, people commonly wore words, names, letters, symbols, and images about their bodies for protection or healing. Drawing on French sources, this article examines the widespread practice of wearing textual amulets in this period as revelatory of an enduring belief in the power of words and images to protect and heal the individual who wore them. It analyzes the vehement critique of this practice by period theologians, both Protestant and Catholic, who attacked their contemporaries’ investment in the materiality of the textual object as superstition. En los siglos XVI y XVII, la gente usaba con frecuencia palabras, nombres, letras, símbolos e imágenes sobre sus cuerpos como protección o como cura. Partiendo de fuentes francesas, este artículo examina la extendida práctica de usar amuletos textuales en ese periodo de tiempo como una revelación de la creencia permanente en el poder de las palabras y las imágenes para proteger y curar a los individuos que las usaban. Se analiza la crítica vehemente de dicha práctica por los teólogos de la época, tanto protestantes como católicos, que atacaban a la inversión de sus contemporáneos en la materialidad de los objetos textuales como una superstición.

The role play in the Cultural Historical perspective is a highly evolved form of play. In it the child reconstitutes social activity and tries to represent it, reproducing the concrete activity of people in their relationships and diversity. Therefore, the themes of the games can be varied and changeable depending on the objective situations in which the child participates. As a dominant activity of the preschool age, role play can foster children's psychic development. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate the influence of organized spaces and the insertion of new themes in social role play. Method: 25 children from four to five years of age participated in the Municipal Infantile Education of the city of Bauru- SP. The observational and descriptive analysis was adopted. Results: The data generated by graphs 1 and 2 and tables 1, 2, 3 demonstrate, above all, that the theme and the argument of the play enabled an advance in the levels of development of role play after the study of the theme and performance of roles in Spaces.

In 2014 the Mexican government implemented taxes to reduce the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and nonessential energy-dense foods. In this manuscript, we analyze the scientific evidence linking the consumption of these products to chronic diseases, and summarize the studies that have evaluated the observed and expected impact of food taxes in Mexico. The implementation of taxes to unhealthy foods has reduced purchases of sugar-sweetened beverages in 7.6% and nonessential energy-dense foods in 7.4%. A reduction in consumption could decrease obesity prevalence by 2.5%; prevent 20 000 cardiovascular disease events; 189 000 diabetes cases; and 20 000 cardiovascular deaths. Additionally, this impact could save nearly 1 173 million dollars from healthcare costs. Taxes to unhealthy foods should be strengthen up and remain as an integral part of the national strategy to reduce obesity and chronic diseases in Mexico.

Admission Dysfunctions of the lumbosacral spine are among the most common problems related to the movement of contemporary society throughout the world, and its incidence increases with age. In recent years, increased interest in the issues fascia, which until recently was neglected in the etiology of low back pain. One of the therapeutic options that can be applied in the case of chronic pain syndrome lumbar-sacral spine techniques are easing myofascial (ang. Myofascial release, MFR), which is one of the latest methods in the field of manual medicine. Objective of the work The aim of the work was overview AD recently published study on the effectiveness of techniques easing myofascial pain in chronic lumbar-sacral spine. Material and methods To find the current investigate research (publications of the last 5 years) dedicated to MFR in the treatment of chronic pain, lumbar-sacral spine searched the following databases: PubMed, PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database), ScienceDirect and Academic Search Premier. The following keywords: myofascial release, myofascial release therapy, myofascial pain, chronic low back pain. Results 9 qualified to review the studies investigating the effect of loosening myofascial pain and range of motion, functional limitations, muscles, as well as the quality of life in people with chronic pain lumbosacral spine. Conclusions The results of this review show that there is little research on the MFR employs treat ailments low back pain lumbar - sacral. Based on the studies included in this review can be concluded that the MFR can be an effective treatment for back pain lumbar - sacral, but there is a need for further research with a well-developed research procedure that will allow the standardization of this therapeutic method.

L’abast d’aquest estudi comprèn des de la publicació del primer setmanari escrit en català a Tortosa al tombant del segle xx, La Veu de Tortosa, fins a l’esclat de la Guerra Civil amb el setmanari Lluita, i centra l’interès en el tractament de la dona com a tema i la intervenció d’aquesta en la premsa tortosina del primer terç del segle xx. Es tracta majoritàriament de premsa comarcal que reflectia el catalanisme conservador –La Veu de Tortosa (1899-1902), La Veu de la Comarca (1903-1909), Bolletí de la Lliga Espiritual de la Mare de Déu de la Cinta (1919-1921), La Veu de Tortosa (1930-31), La Veu Comarcal (1934-1935) i el diari Ara (1935-1936)– i la moral catòlica –Germanor i La Santa Cinta– enfront de la revista nacionalista Vida Tortosina i el quinzenari Acció, òrgans d’expressió d’Acció Catalana Republicana, i del setmanari socialista Lluita, el qual representava els interessos del proletariat al marge del catalanisme. En aquesta investigació es presenta el Projecte d'Innovació Docent ComunicArte16 dut a terme en el curs 2015-2016 en l'assignatura Estructura Econòmica del Sector de la Comunicació del grau en Comunicació i Relacions Públiques d'ESIC Business & Marketing School, on van participar 21 alumnes. ComunicArte16 té com a objectiu incrementar la participació de l'alumnat a través de la proposta i disseny de les seues pròpies accions docents a realitzar a l'aula. A partir de les 14 accions proposades, es va sol·licitar a cinc docents especialistes en la matèria que revelaren les seues preferències d'acord amb els objectius del currículum de l'assignatura. Aquest procés s'ha articulat sobre quatre eixos: analitzar, connectar, experimentar i crear (ACEC), seguint com a referència el Model d'Estils d'Aprenentatge de Felder-Silverman (FSLSM). Per a la selecció d'accions docents de ComunicArte16 es va seguir el Procés Analític Jeràrquic (AHP) que, a través de la comparació aparellada d'alternatives de tipus autoexcloents, va brindar una prelació ponderada i va donar lloc a la selecció efectiva de 4 accions, una per a cada eix. L'anàlisi dels resultats avala una alta acceptació de ComunicArte16 entre l'alumnat, incrementant la participació activa a l'aula i millorant el seu compromís a través d'una major taxa d'assistència a classe.

El presente artículo aborda la magnitud y las limitaciones del “escándalo” producido alrededor del presidente argentino Mauricio Macri tras las revelaciones de los Panama Papers. Desde una perspectiva sociológico-pragmática, se recorrerán los marcos de situación generados por las denuncias, se evaluarán las intervenciones desde sus exigencias pragmáticas de justificación y se analizarán las legitimidades variables de los distintos actores involucrados en la dinámica denuncia-escándalo. Analizando dimensiones como I) la articulación de la denuncia y la percepción del escándalo, II) las características de la denuncia, III) las particularidades del denunciado, IV) el lugar de los medios de comunicación, V) la movilización de la denuncia por parte de los distintos actores y VI) las formas de legitimación de los denunciantes, se buscará explicar cuáles fueron las condiciones de felicidad del escándalo y por qué el develamiento estuvo lejos de corresponderse con las expectativas de sus impulsores. Como conclusión sostiene que fueron las características de la denuncia periodística y las condiciones contextuales en el ámbito periodístico-mediático, judicial y político las que atenuaron la denuncia, les imposibilitaron a varios actores acreditarse como intérpretes legítimos y terminaron por disminuir la magnitud del escándalo.

Particleboard and MDF are the most usable materials for furniture production, where emission of formaldehyde should be as low as possible. In order to improve aesthetic properties of particleboard and MDF they are covered with appropriate surfacing material. In most cases, melamine impregnated paper is used for face layers. But covering faces should be accompanied with covered edges, as due to low density of core layer formaldehyde much more easily emits from edges than from faces. The presented research shows differences in formaldehyde emission rate at unsurfaced and surfaced MDF and particleboard. For face layer, melamine impregnated papers with grammages of 130 g/m2 and 200 g/m2 were used, while for covering edges, melamine edge-banding tape was applied. In the research it was determined that higher barrier effect was achieved when impregnated paper with a grammage of 200 g/m2 was used. When surface was completely covered with impregnated paper and melamine edge-band tape, formaldehyde emission was lowered by between 83 % and 94 %.

Context: modeling of atmospheric pollutants is an useful tool for air quality monitoring and management. In this study the dispersion of three atmospheric pollutants (SO2, NO2 and Total Suspended Particles - TSP) emitted by a boiler from a paper factory at Valle del Cauca department was estimated and its potential impact on the population settlements located at 5Km around the stationary source was identified. Method: the study was structured in three stages: (i) compiling and processing of meteorological, topographic and isokinetic sampling data; (ii) modeling the dispersion of pollutants using AERMOD ViewTM; and (iii) determination of the impact on surrounding populations. Results: the pollution plume is dispersed towards predominant directions of wind and the trajectory is affected by mountainous topography. The maximum concentrations of pollutants found (0,012 μg SO2/m3, 1,42 μg NO2/m3 and 0,109 μgTSP/m3) were lower than the Colombian air quality standards. Conclusions: the emission-control systems used by the studied paper industry ensures compliance with the air quality standard and generates a low impact on exposed populations. In addition, the atmospheric instability conditions favored the dilution of the contaminants discharged to the atmosphere. Purpose: This paper studied the measurement invariance (MI) across web-based and paper-based surveys to evidece if both techniques of data collection can be regarded as equivalent. Design/methodology/approach: We develop a multigroup confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) with Maximum Likelihood Estimation to asses meassurement invariance of the Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS) adapted to teaching, with data collected from paper and web surveys. Sample from paper surveys was constituted by 294 student of a Spanish public university in the academic years 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10. Internet surveys were administered through an open source survey application called LimeSurvey. We received 241 completed questionnaires. Findings: Results show that metric invariance, covariance invariance, variance of latent factors invariance and measurement errors invariance can be established between two groups. We can conclude that both methods of collecting data can be considered equivalent. Research limitations/implications: This study was done with a particular sample and strict focus questionnaire and we might not generalize the findings. It should be extended in the future to include other universities and graduate students. Originality/value: Results showed that the factor structures remained invariant across the internet-based and paper-based groups, that is to say, both methods of collecting data can be considered equivalent, with the same factor structure, factor loadings, measurement errors of factors and the same reliability. These findings are useful for researchers since they add a new sample in which web and paper questionnaires are equivalent and for teachers to desire to change the teaching methodology at university, encourage students’ participation and teamwork through active methodologies.

Este trabajo busca analizar la irrupción de paper como un modo de escritura que en el último tiempo está siendo impuesto en el ámbito de las Humanidades con el apoyo de una serie de instituciones que lo ha hecho posible. El objetivo de este escrito será, por un lado, estudiar sus características principales a partir de la información contenida en los manuales e instructivos para escribir papers y, por otro lado, poner en evidencia sus implicancias para el trabajo intelectual en general y el latinoamericano en particular.This paper analyzes the emergence of the paper as a kind of writing in the area of the Humanities that, in recent times, and with institutional support, has been imposed as the nearly unique and acceptable kind of academic discourse. The aim of this paper is, first, to study the main characteristics of this kind of writing, based on information in the manuals and instructions for paper writing and, secondly, to signal its implications for the intellectual work in general and for the work in Latin America in particular.

Este artículo sintetiza los aportes de un panel sobre los Papeles del Lavado desarrollado en el marco del XVIII Congreso de REDCOM “Comunicación, derechos y la cuestión del poder en América Latina”. El coordinador de la mesa sintetiza los principales planteos de los expositores: el periodista Santiago O'Donnell, el licenciado en Economía y ex titular de la Unidad de Información Financiera (UFI) José Sbatella y la licenciada Fernanda Daniela Díaz -una de las participantes del Consorcio de Investigación Autogestivo formado por REDCOM junto a Tiempo Argentino y Lavaca-, quienes abordaron la cuestión desde distintos campos disciplinares y de gestión.
