[EN] The Garden in Motion is a concept that was developed by Gilles Clément in the early 1980s as the result of the experimentation conducted in his garden-house, La Vallée. Clément’s interest in promoting this garden archetype based on managing neglected land led him to write a number of works in order to explain the conceptual underpinnings of his model, with the ultimate aim of having them published. From the writing of the first manuscripts, dating from 1984, to the first edition of “Le jardin en movement” in 1991, he produced a series of different documents that would form the basis of the text that was finally published. It was a long process in which Clément not only had to fully develop his ideas but also to overcome the difficulties involved in finding a company to publish what he called his ‘petit livre’. The aim of this article is to show the creative process behind Clément’s book and its relationship with the creative process of building his garden, while endeavouring to reply to the question of whether it is possible to establish an equivalence between both processes. This is made possible through the analysis of documents kept by Clément in his personal archive, some of which have never been published., [ES] El Jardín en Movimiento es un concepto desarrollado por Gilles Clément a principios de los años ochenta, que surge de la experimentación llevada a cabo en su casa-jardín de La Vallée. El interés por dar a conocer este arquetipo de jardín basado en la gestión del baldío, lleva a Clément a elaborar un conjunto de escritos en los que desarrolla las bases conceptuales de dicho modelo. Su objetivo final es poder llegar a publicarlos. Desde la redacción de los primeros manuscritos, que datan de 1984, hasta la primera edición de “Le jardin en mouvement” en 1991, se suceden diferentes documentos que servirán de base para el texto finalmente publicado. Un largo proceso en el que Clément no solo se enfrenta a la maduración de sus ideas, sino a las dificultades para encontrar una editorial que publique su “petit livre,” como él lo denomina. El artículo pretende mostrar la génesis de este libro y su relación con la construcción del jardín, intentado dar respuesta a la cuestión de si es posible establecer una equivalencia entre ambos procesos creativos. Todo ello a través del análisis de los documentos que Gilles Clément conserva en su archivo personal, algunos de ellos inéditos.

Creativity is one of the essential aspects of the architectural discipline. Along with the technical and conceptual advances, it determines the evolution and improvement of architecture as functional and aesthetic need. In our essay we try to show the importance of teachers in the development of creative thinking in their students. We describe various strategies for the development of a creative activity at students in first degree course of architecture. These strategies have their realization in direct proposals classroom of the subject Graphic Ideation that have developed in the School of Architecture and Building UPCT during 2008-2015. La creatividad constituye uno de los aspectos esenciales de la disciplina arquitectónica. Junto con los avances técnicos y conceptuales, determina la evolución y la mejora de la arquitectura como necesidad funcional y estética. En nuestra comunicación pretendemos poner de manifiesto la importancia del docente en el desarrollo del pensamiento creativo en sus alumnos. Describiremos diversas estrategias destinadas al desarrollo de una actividad creativa en los estudiantes del primer curso del grado de arquitectura. Estas estrategias tienen su concreción en propuestas directas de aula de la asignatura de Ideación Gráfica que se han desarrollado en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura y Edificación de la UPCT durante los años 2008-2015.

[EN] Medellin has experienced a significant process of transformation after a 20 years Violence period, both cultural and social. The purpose of this research is to analyze in depth the contribution of the UVA buildings to the positive growing of the urban landscape, interweaving urban architectonic recycling between social improvement. The former private infrastructure of water tanks has turned into a vital element of the new integrated continuous modern Medellín. This paper assesses to what extent the implementation of the UVAs has influenced in the enhancing modernization of the Medellin¿s housing infrastructure. The main question remains in clarifying if such a heterogeneous aesthetic construction can effectively become part of the architectonic idiosyncrasy of the urban view. Furthermore, the study dives into the responsibility of the architect in analyzing the conjunction of place and formal impressiveness, and how their technical strategy exerts an instrumental influence in the impairment or improvement of the urban society. The model of assessment is the UVA Orfelinato, as it is popularly called in the comuna ¿UVA de la Imaginación¿. From the triggering light of the original idea, through the implementation of the project, it will prove how to transform the inhabitants into active decision-taker participants, who proudly stare at the UVA as a metaphor of integration. Finally, the paper will examine the positive impact of Building recycling in the opportunity of moving up in the economic scale for its citizens, struggling for equality and fairness as the pillars of peaceful coexistence., [ES] El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es analizar la estrategia proyectual utilizada en una ciudad que ha sufrido una transformación social y cultural, tras unos 20 años de violencia como lo es Medellín Colombia. Se toma como caso de estudio el proyecto UVA (Unidades de vida articulada), que utiliza como estrategia el reciclaje de las infraestructuras de tanques de agua. Pasar de propiedad privada y de puntos ciegos en una ciudad fragmentada a lugares de encuentro que promueven continuidad urbana. Se indagará en las diferentes estrategias utilizadas en el proyecto para generar transformación y cambio en una ciudad que aún tiene secuelas del conflicto. ¿Han sido del todo asertivos con la implantación de estos proyectos?. ¿Cómo poner a favor la morfología atípica y cambio de uso en estas infraestructuras para generar arquitectura?. Aquí es donde el proyectista debe considerar todos los aspectos del lugar en el proyecto y ser consientes de que cualquier intervención puede mejorar o desfavorecer a una sociedad. Se estudiará más a fondo la UVA DEL ORFELiNATO, o como la llamaron los propios habitantes de la comuna la “La UVA de la imaginación”, desde su implantación hasta su proceso proyectual y resultado final. Se analizará como se integra en su contexto inmediato, para extraer las estrategias que generan una arquitectura participativa y con gran impacto social. Una arquitectura que genere cambio, luchando por la igualdad y la equidad como pilares de la convivencia pacífica.

[ES] En esta memoria se expone el Trabajo de Final de Grado, eminentemente práctico, que ha sido la creación de un patio árabe en 3D de aspecto realista, desarrollado en un motor de última generación y explorable en realidad virtual. Para crear Riad, he realizado bocetos, planos y búsquedas de objetos, para luego modelar, texturizar e iluminar tres estancias de una misma casa, con mobiliario de época, prestando gran atención a los detalles para que finalmente pudiese ser explorada con gafas de realidad virtual. Desde la realización de bocetos de muebles hasta el ensamblaje del nivel entero, pasando por fases tan dispares como la creación de plantas o la edición de sonido, todo ello está documentado y explicado en esta memoria. La historia que da cuerpo y justificación a este trabajo bebe directamente de mis raíces e inquietudes. Por una parte, mi origen como nacido en Cantabria, con su mitología presente hasta en las escuelas desde bien pequeños, y por otra parte, mi fascinación por el mundo hispano-musulmán del Reino de Granada. Se crea un vínculo entre ambos mundos con un personaje figurado que vive en dicho patio, y es gracias a los muebles y objetos que podemos conocer a qué se dedicaba y de donde venía., [EN] In this paper it is explained how this final assignment, which is the development of an arabic courtyard in a realistic-look 3D, is made in a currentgeneration engine and explorable in virtual reality. To make Riad come true, I have crafted sketches, plans and I have actively searched objects, in order to later model, texturize and light up three rooms in the same house, with period furniture, paying attention to the detail so it could be finally explored in virtual reality. From making sketches to the assembly of the final level, everything is well documented in this paper, even subjects like modeling or sound editing. The story that gives meaning to this project is taken both from my roots and my concerns. On one hand, my childhood in Cantabria, with its mithology present even in schools since early stages. On the other hand, my fascination for the hispanic-muslim world from the nazari kingdom of Granada. As a joint we have a Cantabrian mercenary who lives in said courtyard, and it is thanks to the furniture and personal belongings that we know what he did for a living and where he came form.

[EN] After ten years, drawing indiscriminately the neighborhoods of Valencia, for no other reason than to observe and represent every corner of the city, we finally decided to use the communicative capacity of drawing as a tool to reclaim El Cabanyal’s negletic state of abandonment, that has been going through for many years, regardless its political burden. After setting this goal and analysing the morphological and social history of this neighborhood, we decided to travel the streets and rooftops of El Cabanyal, talk to its people, and draw, in situ, those different spaces, shapes, colors, atmospheres ... giving rise to dozens of drawings that immortalize the (still alive) remains of this urban ecosystem. Paper-shaped witnesses sketched with latent architectures, persecuted and threatened by oblivion that will accompany us during the course of this paper. Después de, en conjunto, plantearnos este objetivo y analizar la historia morfológica y social de este barrio, nos propusimos recorrer las calles y azoteas de El Cabanyal, hablar con sus gentes y dibujar, in situ, los distintos espacios, formas, colores, atmósferas…dando lugar a decenas de dibujos que inmortalizan lo que perdura de este ecosistema urbano aún con vida. Testigos con forma de papel surcados de arquitecturas latentes, perseguidas y amenazadas por un olvido que nos acompañarán en el transcurso de esta lectura.

[ES] Este artículo presenta una metodología aplicada para la documentación gráfica, análisis y determinación de los criterios de intervención en la protección y conservación del patrimonio edificado. Uno de los principales riesgos que presentan las intervenciones sobre el patrimonio fortificado en tierra es la falta de una base gráfica óptima. De ahí que el objetivo del presente trabajo sea el conocimiento integral de la fortaleza de Píñar (Granada), realizando el análisis de la secuencia constructiva a partir del levantamiento fotogramétrico SfM (Structure-from-Motion) utilizando cámaras montadas sobre UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), en conjunto con una lectura estratigráfica de paramentos. Este tipo de captura aérea con UAV está transformando los paradigmas en la documentación del patrimonio construido, haciéndola mucho más eficiente y precisa. Esta documentación de gran calidad es la base fundamental para la investigación arqueológica de la evolución de la fortaleza, facilitando enormemen, [EN] This paper presents an applied methodology for the graphic documentation, analysis and criteria determination for the protection and conservation of built heritage. One of the main risks when restoring medieval rammed earth architecture is the lacking of an optimal graphic base of its structures. This paper’s main objective is the holistic knowledge of the Píñar fortress (Granada), analysis the building sequence from an archaeological perspective, and performing a rigorous 3D survey of its structures as a fundamental procedure. This survey was carried out applying the new technologies in graphic documentation: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based multi-image photogrammetry and Structure-from-Motion (SfM) processing. The new systems of aerial three-dimensional (3D) capture and representation are changing the paradigm in the architectural heritage documentation, being much more efficient and precise. [EN] Extended Abstract:The objective of this paper is to show the virtual archaeology as one of the methodologies applicated in the research line “Archaeology of the military orders” developed for some years by the University of Castilla-La Mancha in collaboration with the Fundación Castillo de la Estrella.The military orders are very important institutions for the study of the Middle Ages in the Iberian Peninsula. Because of that, there is a rich literature which approaches many aspects of these institutions: their origins and evolution; organisation; economic dimension; social reality... In contrast, the studies which have focused on the heritage linked to these orders have not had the same degree of development. This lack has motivated the creation of this important research line, where several specialists from different disciplines such as history, archaeology, architecture or restoration try to focus on the research of the military orders heritage, mainly in the region of Castilla-La Mancha. Thus, our research line is based on an interdisciplinary methodology, combining traditional practice with new technologies, like the virtual archaeology, which is described as the “using computer-based visualisation for the comprehensive management of archaeological heritage” (Principios de Sevilla, 2012).Virtual archaeology as a research methodologyThere are several applications for the virtual archaeology, but we could summarize them in three: research, conservation and restoration, and communication. In this paper, we focused on the first of them. We have worked with virtual archaeology in several cases such as the Castle of La Estrella (Montiel, Ciudad Real), the fortress and priory of Uclés (Uclés, Cuenca) or the hospital of Santiago of Alarcón (Alarcón, Cuenca), and we can say that this methodology has contributed to progress in the knowledge of all the elements which have been recreated. In the creation process of a virtual model, it is necessary to collect all information and data as are possible of the element on which we work. In this process, a lot of questions about several aspects appears, and we must try to find responses. In this way, we discover things which probably never would have been approached without this process. Furthermore, the virtual archaeology is an excellent method to sketch and discuss different hypothesis. It is a visual language with whom the specialists could show their ideas as support of the traditional text formats or other graphics sources as photos or plans.WorkflowOur workflow is similar toot her projects of virtual archaeology. Before to start to work, is important to think about the objective of the model. For example, there are a lot of differences between a simple model to sketch the possible spatial disposition of a building in the research discussion, and a recreation to show to the public. Then, we can start to work in a process which can be summarized in these steps:Compilation of all the documents, information and data as are possible about the element to recreate.Discussion about several aspects of the model as the plan, materials, constructive technics, decoration, landscape, etc. Is interesting to use sketches or drawings before starting to work in the 3D model.Design of the 3D model starting with the general aspects as the spatial disposition of the different elements, its size or the main details, and after that, work with the specific elements, decorations or contextual items (in recreations).Texturize the different objects of the model. It is important to work with the correct materials. In this way, we try to use the real textures of the archaeological elements when we have them.Integrate the model in a correct context: topography, landscape, people and animals, furniture, etc. These aspects will be present with a different degree of detail depending on the objective of the virtual model.The last step is the creation of various sources as images, videos, interactive application, etcTo preserve the scientific transparency is important to show the degree of evidence of the different elements of the model. An option is to use a colour scale like the one which has been developed by Aparicio & Figueiredo (2016) which reflects the origin of the data and the degree of historical and archaeological evidence that we have.It is important to point out that the discussion between the specialists must be present in all these steps.ConclusionsThe virtual archaeology is a growing methodology in the heritage management sphere. As a communication tool, it is an excellent language to show ideas to the general and the specialised public. But this has many possibilities in other fields such as conservation and restoration, and research. As with any other methodology, it is necessary to create scientific criteria and rules for it use, a process which has already started with the creation of the Seville Principles. Now, is the turn of the researches and heritage specialists to do a correct use of this tool and develop its multiple possibilities., [ES] Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar la arqueología virtual como una de las metodologías empleadas en los proyectos desarrollados en el marco de la línea de investigación “Arqueología de las órdenes militares” y que desde hace unos años se lleva a cabo desde la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha en colaboración con la Fundación Castillo de La Estrella. Su objetivo es el estudio de estas instituciones en el marco de la Edad Media y desde la perspectiva de la cultura material aunando el análisis del patrimonio arqueológico y de las fuentes documentales. En este sentido, la arqueología virtual, entendida como la “aplicación de la visualización asistida por ordenador a la gestión integral del patrimonio arqueológico” ha sido incorporada como una metodología más con el fin no sólo de servir como herramienta de difusión y comunicación, tanto para especialistas como para el público general; sino también como un medio a partir del cual orientar y complementar el proceso de investigación. Presentamos el proceso metodológico en la aplicación de la arqueología virtual a varios casos de estudio de elementos patrimoniales relacionados con las órdenes de Santiago, Calatrava y San Juan, como son el Castillo de la Estrella (Montiel, Ciudad Real), la fortaleza y el convento de Uclés (Uclés, Cuenca) y el hospital santiaguista de Alarcón (Alarcón, Cuenca), entre otros. Así mismo, plantearemos las dificultades y ventajas de la aplicación de la arqueología virtual, especialmente en el sentido de herramienta en el proceso de investigación para el desarrollo del debate; el planteamiento de preguntas y búsqueda de soluciones; la plasmación de hipótesis; y la orientación de proyectos futuros. Lo más destacado: Planteamiento de la arqueología virtual como metodología útil en la investigación interdisciplinar del patrimonio de las órdenes militares: pros y contras, problemas y soluciones. Proceso y resultado de la aplicación de la arqueología virtual en varios estudios vinculados a las órdenes militares: castillos, conventos, hospitales o explotaciones rurales. [EN] To build the Baptism Portal it was necessary to make a series of drawings on the surface of the ashlar stones. Known as monteas, these drawings survived for over five hundred years but during the latest restoration most of them were lost or become practically illegible due to the cleansing of the stone and the use of a device to keep birds away. This paper discusses the data obtained from studies carried out prior to the restoration and reconstructs the monteas. It therefore documents and sheds light on these drawings, while simultaneously expanding the catalogue of these forms of graphic expression that have been identified at Seville Cathedral since the 1980s., [ES] La Puerta del Bautismo necesitó para su construcción de unos dibujos grabados sobre sus sillares, monteas, permanentes durante más de quinientos años, aunque durante su última restauración la mayoría se han perdido o resultan de difícil lectura, debido a limpiar la piedra y disponer de un aparataje para espantar las aves. Este artículo recoge los datos obtenidos en estudios previos a la restauración y recupera dichas monteas, por lo que tiene carácter documental y de difusión de tales dibujos, a la vez que amplía el catálogo de tales grafismos localizados en la Catedral de Sevilla desde la década de los 80.

[EN] La Ilustración Española y Americana (1869-1921) was the main illustrated weekly newspaper of the last quarter of the nineteenth century in Spain. Its pages, as well as those of its equals in Europe, were filled with engravings and, later, with photomechanical prints of pictures of contemporary events, discoveries, and national and foreign works of art and architecture. Compositions of various images in a plate were one of the main strategies adopted by this newspaper to inform graphically and were also used in the representation of architecture and cities. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate, through the visual analysis of some of these compositions, that they were a relevant tool in the presentation of architecture to the great public, incorporating some of the characteristics of the sequential image , allowing the reader to embark on an architectural journey and globally understand complex spaces just by browsing the page., [ES] La Ilustración Española y Americana (1869 1921) fue la revista ilustrada por excelencia en el siglo XIX en España. En sus páginas, como en las de su género publicadas en Europa, se incluyeron grabados y, más tarde, reproducciones fotomecánicas de los eventos más relevantes, los últimos descubrimientos científicos y el arte y la arquitectura nacional y extranjera. Entre sus estrategias de información gráfica, destacaron láminas que reunían vistas de un evento formando una composición, también empleadas para describir edificios y ciudades. Con el análisis de diferentes ejemplos extraídos de sus páginas, se observará cómo estas composiciones, que adquirían algunas características de la imagen secuencial , fueron relevantes en la representación de arquitectura ante el gran público; permitiendo al lector decimonónico recorrer visualmente espacios arquitectónicos complejos y formar una idea general de ellos con solo mirar.

El dibujo ha sido siempre una herramienta estrechamente vinculada al mundo de la arquitectura. Ya desde la antigüedad resultó la manera más sencilla de transmitir las ideas arquitectónicas y facilitar su construcción. Si bien históricamente era concebido como un instrumento intrínseco del proceso de proyecto, durante el siglo XX se produjo un cambio sustancial que le con- fi rió protagonismo como elemento independiente: el dibujo pasó de ser un simple trámite en el proceso a convertirse en motivo de exposición. A través del acto de dibujar, las ideas de nuestra mente se materializan sobre el papel, convirtiéndose en entidades propias. Es entonces cuando somos realmente capaces de verlas, hecho que permite trabajar sobre ellas. Dibujar fomenta la generación de pensamiento y permite la evolución de las ideas desde su concepción originaria hasta su definición final. Esta capacidad de interacción concede al dibujo a mano alzada una importancia vital en el campo del diseño y de la creación arquitectónica, a distintos niveles. Su versatilidad como herramienta propicia la existencia de diferentes tipologías, en función del objetivo que se persiga. Así, estudiaremos el dibujo en sus facetas de ideación, de análisis y de expresión, como también el caso particular del dibujo de viaje de los arquitectos. Todo ello acompañado de ejemplos gráficos de grandes maestros, con Louis I. Kahn como protagonista principal., Drawing has always been a tool closely linked to the world of architecture. Since ancient times it was the simplest way to communicate architectural ideas and facilitate their construction. Although historically it was conceived as an intrinsic instrument of the design process, a substantial change occurred during the twentieth century, which gave it importance as an independent element: drawing rose from being a mere formality in the process to become a reason for exhibition. Through the act of drawing, the ideas of our mind are materialized on paper, thus becoming entities themselves. It is then when we are actually able to see these concepts, which allows us to work on them. Drawing encourages our thoughts and allows the evolution of the ideas from their original conception to their fi nal defi nition. This ability to interact makes freehand drawing essential in the area of design and architectural creation, at different levels. Its versatility as a tool facilitates the existence of different types, depending on the objective to be achieved. Adopting this viewpoint, we will study the drawing facets of ideation, analysis and expression, as well as the particular case of travel drawings of architects. All of this is accompanied by graphic examples of great masters, with Louis I. Kahn as the main character., El dibuix ha sigut sempre una eina estretament vinculada al món de l’arquitectura. Ja des de l’antiguitat va resultar la manera més senzilla de transmetre les idees arquitectòniques i facilitar la seua construcció. Si bé històricament era concebut com un instrument intrínsec del procés de projecte, durant el segle XX es va produir un canvi substancial que li va conferir protagonisme com a element independent: el dibuix va passar de ser un simple tràmit en el procés a convertir-se en motiu d’exposició. A través de l’acte de dibuixar, les idees de la nostra ment es materialitzen sobre el paper, convertint-se en entitats pròpies. És aleshores quan som realment capaços de veure-les, fet que permet treballar sobre elles. Dibuixar fomenta la generació de pensament i permet l’evolució de les idees des de la seua concepció originària fi ns la seua defi nició fi nal. Esta capacitat d’interacció concedeix al dibuix a mà alçada una importància vital en el camp del disseny i de la creació arquitectònica, a distints nivells. La seua versatilitat com a ferramenta propicia l’existència de diferents tipologies, en funció de l’objectiu que es perseguisca. Així, estudiarem el dibuix en les seues facetes d’ideació, d’anàlisi i d’expressió, com també el cas particular del dibuix de viatge dels arquitectes. [ES] Las edificaciones educativas tienen gran importancia en cuanto a la sostenibilidad ya que se tratan en algunos casos de obras que requieren grandes movimientos de recursos económicos y materiales. Además, este tipo de obras tienen una importante labor educativa, de desarrollo social e interacción durante los primeros años de vida de los pequeños usuarios, ya que se trata de su primera experiencia fuera del hogar. En el siguiente trabajo se estudian los proyectos de escuelas infantiles publicados en distintas revistas de arquitectura española y se seleccionan las obras publicadas en los volúmenes de Arquitectura Escolar de TC Cuadernos para analizar los proyectos desde la perspectiva de la sostenibilidad medioambiental. Con la aparición de nuevas normativas y objetivos medioambientales mundiales, la labor del arquitecto se ve claramente influenciada debiendo tener en cuenta numerosos y complejos parámetros medioambientales que permitan el desarrollo sostenible de las actuales y futuras edificaciones. Así pues, para el correcto análisis medioambiental de las obras, se estudian e investigan varias herramientas de medición de la sostenibilidad actuales en España y Europa, que ayudan al arquitecto a introducir la sostenibilidad en las construcciones. Finalmente, se establece un método de análisis de las escuelas de infantil seleccionadas el cual incorpora la herramienta VERDE., [EN] Educational buildings are of great importance in terms of sustainability, since in some cases they are works that require large movements of economic and material resources. In addition, this type of work has an important educational, social development and interaction role during the first years of life of the young users, since it is their first experience outside the home. In the following paper we study the projects of children¿s schools published in different Spanish architectural journals and select the works published in the volumes of School Architecture of TC Cuadernos to analyze the projects from the perspective of environmental sustainability. With the emergence of new regulations and global environmental objectives, the work of the architect is clearly influenced by having to take into account numerous and complex environmental parameters that allow the sustainable development of current and future buildings. Thus, for the correct environmental analysis of the works, several tools of measurement of the current sustainability in Spain and Europe are studied and investigated, which help the architect to introduce sustainability in the constructions. Finally, a method of analysis of the selected nursery schools is established, which incorporates the VERDE tool.

Su extensa obra, mundialmente conocida, es un claro ejemplo del diálogo entre su pensamiento y las exigencias del entorno, la tradicionalidad y las necesidades de una sociedad que avanza a pasos agigantados. En el presente trabajo se pretende hacer la reconstrucción gráfica, mediante los programas digitales actuales, de uno de sus proyectos no construidos a partir del análisis de la vida, filosofía y obra de este gran maestro contemporáneo., [CA] Tadao Ando, “L’arquitecte *Samurai” o “El mestre de la llum”, és una de les figures més emblemàtiques dels segles XX i XXI en el camp de l’arquitectura. La seua extensa obra, mundialment coneguda, és un clar exemple del diàleg entre el seu pensament i les exigències de l’entorn, la tradicionalitat i les necessitats d’una societat que avança amb passes de gegant. En el present treball es pretén fer la reconstrucció gràfica, mitjançant els programes digitals actuals, d’un dels seus projectes no construïts a partir de l’anàlisi de la vida, filosofia i obra d’aquest gran mestre contemporani., [EN] Tadao Ando, “The Samurai Architect” or “The Master of Light”, is one of the most emblematic figures of the 20th and 21st centuries in the field of architecture. His extensive work, known worldwide, is a clear example of the dialogue between his thinking and the demands of the environment, tradition and the needs of a society that is advancing by leaps and bounds. This paper aims to graphically reconstruct, using current digital programmes, one of his unbuilt projects based on an analysis of the life, philosophy and work of this great contemporary master.

[EN] The aim of this paper is to study the use of drawing by the two architects in some of their most significant publications, either separately or together, starting with the 1972 book España Dibujada (Spain Portrayed). I have reviewed in detail their close to thirty books, selecting some of the most representative drawings. The most outstanding conclusion is that one of the most basic characteristics of their graphic expression is linear drawings, sometimes very synthetically constructed, and sometimes with added watercolour, but always with a great architectural accuracy., [ES] El objetivo del presente trabajo es estudiar el uso del dibujo por parte de los dos arquitectos en algunas de sus publicaciones más significativas, realizadas conjunta o independientemente, que se inician con el libro España Dibujada de 1972. Se han revisado minuciosamente todos sus libros, que superan ampliamente la veintena, seleccionando algunos de los dibujos representativos. Como conclusión, se destaca que una de las características básicas de su expresión gráfica es el dibujo a línea, construido a veces muy sintético, y en ocasiones iluminado con acuarela, pero siempre de gran precisión arquitectónica.
