- Abstract
Urban self-management is an activity that can be tiring and not always sustainable in the long term. This is because, in addition to the activities normally associated with militancy, there are also those related to the management and maintenance of a physical space. Starting from a research conducted with the activists of five self-managed spaces in Rome, I analysed the mechanisms that explain why some people continue to be militant for years, despite everything, while others make the choice to leave. It emerged that the choice to go or stay is the result of a delicate and complex balance between centripetal forces (which hold the activists back) and centrifugal forces (which push them to leave). In order to avoid the needle of the balance tending towards the latter, self-managed spaces must succeed in being not only spaces of struggle or encounter, but also spaces of ‘care’, which can contribute to making these experiences not only useful but also humanly sustainable. EXERCISE therapy , *MEDICAL care , *SATISFACTION , *THERAPEUTICS , *WELL-being - Abstract
The approach to the design of social and health care environments should no longer be understood solely as a function of the treatment of disease but must be able to link instances of humanisation through the design of health care places with the improvement of patient conditions and staff satisfaction. Several studies show how spaces can have positive effects both on patients, in terms of participation, favourable contexts for healing processes, positive impact on clinical outcomes of illness and safety conditions, and on staff, in terms of organisational well-being, increased performance and reduced conflicts. The following paper reports on a training exercise carried out during the specialisation course in pedagogy and didactics with students of the Masters in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, who tried their hand at designing innovative and inclusive environments in order to improve their professional skills. BORDERLANDS , *WORKING hours , *PROFESSIONS , *SOCIAL services , *DIALECTIC , *GAZE - Abstract
The social care is affected by multidisciplinary work which by its nature fragments the fragility of subjects into segments dictated by the reference disciplines, vulnerability is experienced as a sort of common exploration of border regions. Working with the person, the protagonist of their life project, means observing them in their uniqueness and accompanying them by their subjectivity. Interdisciplinarity focuses on a dialectic between knowledge that starts from a shared vision of the subject. By the proactive experience of working in a team in a Day Center for people with disabilities, we intend to broaden our gaze to enhance the interdisciplinary dialogue between different services and professionals, starting from a humanistic vision of care as a point of ontological convergence of knowledge and skills of pedagogical, social, legal and medical area about a culture of social work transversal to the plurality of knowledge in a trans-disciplinary perspective. SCIENTIFIC knowledge , *MEDICAL education , *PROFESSIONAL identity , *RADIOTHERAPY , *MEDICAL care - Abstract
What does the humanization of medicine and care mean? What type of education can be considered integral for building the identity of the medical professional and for the expert exercise of their skills in daily team work? The pedagogical reflection on the humanization of medicine calls for an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration perspective, bridging knowledge and action, scientific knowledge and the desire to care for others. This is especially relevant in healthcare contexts characterized by a multi-professional approach, as exemplified by the School of Specialization in Radiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. This contribution interprets several key conceptual frameworks to identify their educational potential, effective operational practices, and theoretical concepts that can enhance the pedagogical development of medical education. ESSENTIALISM (Philosophy) ,POLITICAL change ,DEMOCRATIZATION ,SOCIAL ethics ,SOCIAL reproduction ,CARE ethics (Philosophy) ,FEMINIST ethics - Abstract
"Taking care" involves a politics of relationships. Care has both a subjective and a relational dimension: starting from subjectivity, everyone opens up to vulnerability, dependence, fragility. Care is above all a practical path of spillage from the self and return to the self, enriched by the experience of the other. This paper proposes a reflection that starts from the founding myth of the essentiality of care and crosses the feminist critique of essentialism and the dialectical tension between mysticism and devaluation. Focusing on the analysis provided by the so-called second school of ethics of care, it wants to reflect on the current possibility of making care a political paradigm for change and democratization of relationships and society. WAR , *PEACE , *VIOLENCE - Abstract
Accepting the coexistence of good and evil within each of us is the turning point for starting a fight against evil, which gives rise to the sense of having to bind oneself cognitively to a state in which good produces nothing but good. Here is the profound message that comes from Etty Hillesum's experience of pain and hope. Aware that war produces nothing but chaos, especially inner chaos, it is the awareness of the difficulty of making a concrete consolidation of peace possible. Generally, after the war, two currents cross the world: a current of humanism and another of hatred. Taking a stand against hatred is the only possible way not to personally become perpetrators. For everything to take place concretely, a "political act" must be carried out, a practical action that starts from the person, from pain and from care so that the value of peace is realized. At its focal point, this work attempts to reveal the cultural and social characteristics of the Porticoes of Bologna. The research is conducted in three classes of the Comprehensive Institute of Pianoro’s Lower Secondary School, and targets children with cognitive characteristics, behaviors and interests that usually lead them to distance themselves from school. The laboratory approach managed to make such children demonstrate the motivation to learn and evince the sense of belonging to a group. In this project, the architecture of the city is deemed as a stimulus for stories, illustrations, songs and artifacts that have led to the acquisition of a collective consciousness and identity. In so doing, landscape, territorial and environmental instruction becomes strongly connected to active citizenship education, which paves the way for the training of responsible, reflective and participatory subjects, with attitudes, behaviors and activities that characterize citizens aware of their rights and duties.

Doing phenomenological research entails a complex process that is only minimally published in scientific journals. What is often missing reflects how being in research calls into question the researchers themselves. Anyone who has conducted qualitative empirical research knows that personal engagement does not come at no cost; there are multiple pedagogical and professional practice gains. This article’s aim is to share the phenomenology behind phenomenology: the reflection and personal experience of doing/being in phenomenological research and the personal narrative of what this experience has meant concerning the authors' own context: health care and nursing. Taking advantage of a conducted research exploring the lived experience of family caregivers of hematological patients assisted at home, we propose considerations about the perceived epistemic and cognitive gains, the formative and personal/professional sequels of having been reflective participants of phenomenologically oriented research.

Fifty years have passed since, inside the then Trieste Psychiatric Hospital, a fundamental adventure in the transformation of the mental health system began. Psychiatry, from a discipline of control, accepted the challenge to become prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental suffering. Labor, from occupational therapy, became the right an originator of citizenship. Psychiatric services, from total institutions, spread out in the territories, facing the discomfort in everyday life to generate enabling responses to the people and communities in which is present. A protagonist of those events and of what came out of them, the Author proposes a "reflective" memoir with the purpose of give indications for the uncertain situation of the Italian mental health system. Europe is not the one described by contemporary scholars and philosophers who have developed paths of meaning in Philosophy as well as in Literature. Even the definition of “Europe” and “European thought” can open up debates and wounds. If by the metamorphosis of labour, we literally mean the forms that labour has taken with changing times and contexts, we realise the difficulty of addressing it by definitions and the usefulness instead of a problematising approach, capable of identifying and discussing the problems it poses. It is here that the role of the philosophy of labour becomes central in order to make a conceptual excavation and also to overcome the disciplinary fragmentation with which it has traditionally been investigated. Following this line of enquiry, it is then possible to think about the current metamorphoses considering the new questions raised by capitalist development and the microphysics that creeps in (starting with the consequences of flexibilisation and precariousness). What then are the modern prospects for a philosophy of labour that is aware of the renewed organisational contexts? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

18. «Cosa vuoi che io faccia per te?» (Lc 18,41). Salute e salvezza: una frattura da superare alla luce della prassi «terapeutica» di Gesù.

- Abstract
The article starts with some necessary theological clarifications: the priority of care must be affirmed against all dolorism; the importance of emotions and feelings against all rationalism; the objective of the person's integral salvation against all soteriology of the soul. It goes on showing the fecundity of revisiting the praxis of Jesus, specifically of his taking care of those who are affected by illness and disability, in the light of some contemporary studies of cultural anthropology (Csordas, Quaranta, Pulcini, Pilch). On the basis of these theological and anthropological premises, the article examines the text of Lk 18.31-19.10, aiming to highlight the symmetry between the healing of the blind man of Jericho and that of Zacchaeus, together with the whole therapeutic practice of Jesus. With gestures and words expressing a gratuitous and subversive action, Jesus places the human being at the centre and not their physical or moral illness, thus activating a process that begins with restoring dignity to the people themselves, giving them the opportunity to speak and rebuilding their vital ties, and reaches the point of evangelizing the very need for healing, projecting the light and healing/saving power of the Easter events on the human being's condition of limit, fragility and vulnerability. This contribution highlights the care management strategies and resilience of families during the pandemic in reconciling work and childcare through a qualitative study of working parents aimed at investigating in depth the experiences and reconciliation strategies used to cope with the pandemic. The results reveal an ambivalent evaluation of the experience: working from home was an opportunity for growth in the family dimension, in the children's ability to organize themselves and in their awareness of their parents' work; nevertheless, the challenges regarding reconciliation were experienced negatively, generating fear, guilt, inadequacy, stress, and fatigue. The study also highlighted, even amidst the many difficulties experienced, the emergence of new resources and skills learned that made it possible to cope with a highly risky situation: resilience, a greater understanding of priorities, a lessening of the sense of control and the acquisition of a more accomplished degree of reflexivity and awareness. The Mexican ballroom community made up of trans, transvestite and non-binary people uses sociodigital platforms to co-produce images-data and support their culture. However, its algorithmic visibility becomes surveillance and capitalist sieges that extract its data, practices, and symbolic resources to generate capital. This article analyzes both data on Instagram and interactions with brands to reveal the collaboration and care strategies that this community deploys. Objectives The environmental issue in our time is more delicate than ever from a cultural and ethical-educational point of view. Never before has there been such a need for new consciences in the new declination of ethically relevant issues, orienting people towards lifestyles that respect the environment in which they live and safeguard the environment that surrounds us. Material and methods What is needed is an educational and training programme that begins at basic school level (Persi, 2012) and raises awareness of nature and leads to the consideration that it is not just a resource, but a space of existence in which we can live with responsibility, convinced that the Earth is our common 'home' (oikos), in need of care because, after all, it is the conditio sine qua non of our own existence lived with dignity. Results Education is certainly an essential tool in the pursuit of sustainable development, but it cannot be achieved, as S. Sterling argues, within a logic in which the educational paradigm is connoted as mechanistic and reductionist, increasingly managerial and oriented to a know-it-all. Conclusions Sustainable development as a horizon of truth allows us not to evade any question of meaning in the face of the protection of the environmental heritage, allows us to think of ecologically and ethically oriented educational processes, and therefore to conceive of the environmental issue as a cultural fact, fundamental and priority for the liveability of the person and the entire planet. The search for an "ecological conceptual background is the necessary prerequisite for the implementation of educational pathways capable of nurturing a differentiated and polyphonic way of thinking about nature, which is one of the essential factors in generating a new cultural attitude" (Mortari).

COLLEGE curriculum , *EYE care , *ADULT education , *EDUCATORS , *MEDICAL education , *MEDICAL photography , *TRANSFORMATIVE learning - Abstract
The essay consists of two parts: the first discusses interdisciplinary issues relating to the neurobiological evidence that vision processes are processes of construction of reality. Therefore, moving from the interdependence between mindscape and landscape (Lingiardi, 2017), in the second part the text illustrates a proposal for the conjugation between photographic research "Eye Fitness" (Lovero, 2020) and pedagogical literature related to transformative learning (Mezirow, 2003; Taylor, Cranton, 2012), and to aesthetic languages (Formenti, 2017) in the training of care professionals (Schön, 1993; Mortari, 2004; Striano, Melacarne, Oliverio, 2018; Zannini, 2008). Therefore, in the light of research around medical education, the experimentation of the Laboratory "EYE CARE: Theories and Practices of Disciplinary Hybridization between Photography, Care and Complexity"; is investigated in the training project implemented in the "Adult Education course" of the degree course for Professional Health Educator of the School of Medicine of the Aldo Moro University of Bari, starting from a.y. 2021/2022, and the educational effects detected through qualitative analysis. There is a place of suspension and pause; a place of detachment and double existence between the hic et nunc and somewhere else, indefinite in time and space; a place where meanings can be overturned, rearranged, renewed; a place where it is possible to retitle both events and experiences, which may need to be reordered, renamed and resewed, if ripped or frayed. This place is the liminal space of tales. A place developed from and for the limited nature of human beings, that takes care of its limit, its existential wound and its weakness. Mirroring, identification, recognition, departure, denial, denunciation, unmasking, discovery, knowledge, wonder, contemplation, revolution... to anyone who lives the dimensions of narration and storytelling, these dynamics can lead to a light and silent, intimate and hidden path towards deep respect of personal emptiness and kind self-care. EDUCATION theory , *APATHY , *PHILOSOPHY of education , *WELL-being , *CYNICISM , *PLEASURE - Abstract
The article aims to reflect on the link between food, education and self-care, presenting a pedagogical-clinical research work (Massa, 1992) carried out with educators in two nurseries in the city of Lecco. The object of food appears to be little explored by educational theory, even though it is characterised as an object-limb that materialises the concept of care, not only towards others, but also towards oneself. In a contemporaneity where the dimension of care has entered a profound crisis and the attitude of contemporary western man prevails strongly individualistic logics, characterised by feelings of loss, indifference, cynicism and passivity (Morin, 2015); reflecting on food and food practices from a pedagogical perspective means re-appropriating the taste, pleasure, joy of living and sharing that distinguish the individual's well-being (Birbes, 2012). The table, therefore, becomes an educational and caring space, where the subject is allowed to experience a process in the making, aimed at a well-being. The objective of this work is, therefore, to think of a pedagogy of nourishment that directs self-care through the pleasure of taste and conviviality from an early age. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Trust is a crucial element of education that can be understood as an important precondition of the grow. Furthermore, contextual conditions are important for the development of trust. In spite of this, the role of trust in education system has been scarcely investigated. Research on trust in education is based on varying notions of the term and focuses on different facets and levels of analysis. This includes, first, a distinction between particularised and generalised trust and, secondly, between interpersonal, interorganisational and institutional trust (Faggioli 2018; Lancini, 2020, Muraglia, 2009). This paper introduces a reflection on issues relating to the feeling of trust established in educational contexts, offering possible interconnections with affective, emotional, and interpersonal relationship aspects. 38. “Bombing for peace”. Il racconto della pace nelle parole delle donne.

- Abstract
My work starts on the assumption that wars have a precise language and specific rules that reverberate in the traditional patriarchal tales in which heroism in battle is the primary value of human society, at least in the Western World. Virginia Woolf, as early as at the end of the XIX century, is one of the first female voice to be heard in a wartime context, in opposition to the dominant rhetoric, and probably the most authoritative. Her words keep being repeated today in women’s writings against all forms of violence. Starting from «Thoughts on peace in an air raid» (1940), but also drawing on other related writings, I would like to try to reconstruct the transnational and transdisciplinary inheritance of V. Woolf ’s position, tracing the declinations of the original mandate identified by the British writer in narratives, theoretical writings and political experiments. I would like to define the primarily feminine principle – not in terms of sex but as a cultural, gendered attitude – shaping many forms of artistic and factual resistance, poetically told and/or articulated in rigorous theoretical forms, to the fierce futility of armed conflict resolutions. I will move through different territories, both geographical and symbolic, sampling different works that propose different ways of dealing with conflict situations, based more on an ethics of care and negotiation than on direct confrontation. In this paper, I intend to analyze Baumgarten’s position about the dietetic care of the body in its relation to nascent aesthetics, with special regard to the problem of physical exercise. On the one hand, I will show that physical exercise can acquire aesthetic value with the example of the somatic fine arts. On the other hand, I will demonstrate that dietetics is also seminal for the emergence of every act of beautiful thinking. Eventually, I will bring to the fore the dietetic potential of beauty itself. In this way, it will be possible to better appraise the constitutive link between health and beauty in the founding of aesthetics as an independent branch of philosophy.

The legal texts of the Byzantine period contain elements that clearly portray the role and duties of the emperor as ruler of the State. Leo VI the Wise (886–912 AD), famous for his abundant legislative and general legal work, promulgated numerous general laws (novels). His novels promote certain “ideals”, especially equality, justice, charity and clemency, along with other principles of Christian ethics. The emperor is illustrated as a ruler who has a close relationship with God, theologizes, and philosophizes at the same time. In parallel, the emperor infiltrates the mentality of his subjects as the one responsible for the people on earth, their tireless defender, and lawmaker. Furthermore, Leo appears to consistently try to accurately determine the most appropriate, prudent, and fair solution to each problem after meticulous study. He is a philanthropist, a lenient ruler and a supporter of equality and moderation. He acts as a protector of social institutions and regulates his subjects’ lives so that they can become more well-behaved and prefer only the useful things in life. Finally, in Leo’s novels the emperor is depicted not only as the person chosen by God to rule the Empire, but also as the true embodiment of justice, dignity and divine piety.

The paper presents the state of the art of the European Erasmus Project KA2 – WIN: Writing For Inclusion – dedicated to school inclusion and the use of alternative teaching methodologies such as Digital Storytelling. Starting from a survey on the theme of educational care from a theoretical and pedagogical point of view, the article focuses - in the central parts - on the activities carried out with the students and teachers at the European primary schools involved. The article highlighted the social, as well as educational and cultural implications of the research work carried out by the educational and university institutions involved, with a broad theoretical-methodological reflection which will close, in the coming months, with the assessment of the project itself.

COOPERATIVE housing ,TRUST ,NEIGHBORHOODS ,EVERYDAY life ,HOUSING ,NEST building ,EXPECTATION (Psychology) - Abstract
Today our daily life appears a multifaceted and articulated mix of ordinary and extraordinary, stability and change: a context inside which a range of latent "possibilities" is nested, on which human creativity committed to building the future seems to find expression ( Jedlowski 2017, Augé 2012, Appadurai 2014). Investigating the theme of spaces and living has a lot to do with reflection on change -- and on the subject's ability to imagine and build the future -- because it implies questioning a world that is changing and arouses new expectations and needs. Compared to a period in which, in our country, (little or) almost no reflection was carried out on this phenomenon, the house today appears (to be) one of the universal places from which to try to rethink ourselves and the word we live in. This essay will consider the contribution that some innovative collaborative housing practices, including co-housing, seem to offer to the rethinking of urbanity. Such practices in fact make explicit the inclination to be open to others, the aspiration to care, to feel in tune with the neighbourhood and surrounding spaces, and more generally with the world, in a perspective of trust towards the future. This essay enters the Covid-19 pandemic activated discourse in a sympoietic manner by drawing parallels to the architectural response to the 3.11 Disaster in Tohoku, Japan as a lens to reflect on architecture’s broader response-ability towards matters of human displacement, collective trauma, loss, and memory. It explores the notion of burn-out through the scope of disaster-stricken Japan and the road towards recovery by examining three cases of architectural and curatorial projects to illustrate architectural skills and media – drawing, model-making and fieldwork. All of them were characteristically deployed and instigated community transformation through conversational platforms and trust-building. These platforms are referred to as post-disaster memoryscapes, to illustrate the result of fusing community collaboration with architectural mediums in a distinct ethnographical mode capable of reconciling past, present and future. The paper argues that such ethnographical modes of operating expand architecture’s role from a limited sense of building (re)construction, towards the Harawayian notion of sympoietic caring.

Places are just as crucial as organisations in the fabric of social life: despite all the homogenising tendencies, the social space, sculpted by the stories that constitute it, continues to prove multiform and rich in diversity. At the end of the 20th century, the radical spatial and temporal reorganisation produced by globalised technical infrastructure redesigned the map of the planet. Now, the pandemic is giving a new direction to spatial and temporal restructuring processes. The outcome is still open, but the processes have their inertial force, destined to characterize the times to come. The direction that will be followed is still largely undetermined because the models that inspire the paths of transformation are vastly different. This paper examines the idea of contributory territories as one possible outcome.

- Abstract
The experience of the Covid-19 pandemic has awakened the question of the meaning of human suffering and its symbiosis with faith in a good and merciful God. This article, confronts the questions from a Christian point of view, proposes to reread this mystery of human life by allowing itself to be enlightened by some biblical passages that tell of the relationship between Christ and human suffering and then indicate some steps to re-signify, in an ethical key, pain and suffering. Only, in fact, starting from the responsible exercise of man's freedom, which takes on the burden of fighting the structures of sin, promoting a new model of care and supporting a paradigm shift in medicine, can one live within the limit and care for the suffering man. The article presents the results of an ethnographic study on the experiences of violence of 30 Paraguayan women in the Triple-border of Paraná (between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay). By contrasting their testimonies, we analyze the processes of socialization to patterns of violence in the families of origin, the persistence of these patterns in their adult life and their strategies to face those realities. In the end we discuss the dialectical dimension of female strategies which are able to interrupt these cycles of violence.
