The use of plasma assistance is shown to enhance the optoelectronic properties (i.e., transparency, free carrier density, and conductivity) of indium tin oxide (ITO) deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering by promoting the incorporation of oxygen in substoichiometric oxide films during magnetron sputtering. The authors demonstrate that subplantation of oxygen ions (O2+ and O+), i.e., their implantation to depths of several nanometers below the growth surface, is the primary pathway by which radio frequency plasma assistance at the substrate surface enhances oxygen incorporation during reactive magnetron sputtering of ITO. These conclusions are supported independently by elastic recoil detection measurements of ITO films in the time-of-flight regime and Monte Carlo TRIDYN simulations of oxygen ion bombardment in the reactive low-pressure plasma environment. The etching characteristics of indium zinc oxide (IZO) films were investigated using a high-density plasma in Ar, Ar/Cl2, and Ar/CH4/H2 chemistries. The IZO layers were deposited by means of rf magnetron sputtering, in which the target composition and growth temperature were varied to selectively tune the film properties. X-ray diffraction, elastic recoil detection, and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy were used to determine the crystallization quality, atomic density, and composition of the as-deposited IZO films. As the In/(In+Zn) composition ratio in the IZO layer increases, the etch yield in Ar and Ar/Cl2 plasmas remains fairly constant, indicating that the etching dynamic is essentially independent of the film properties. In sharp contrast, a strong increase of the IZO etch yield with the In/(In+Zn) fraction is observed in Ar/CH4/H2 plasma due to the preferential desorption of the group-III etch products. By comparing these experimental data to the predictions of a simple rate model accounting for preferential desorption effects, it is concluded that the balance between etching and polymer deposition in the Ar/CH4/H2 plasma plays an important role in the evolution of the IZO etch rate with the In concentration fraction. The level structure of the N=80,Nd has been investigated through the beta decay ofPm andPm, whose decay half-lives were measured to be 5.95±0.05 min and 9.1±0.5 sec, respectively. Decay schemes for the two isomers have been constructed from γ-ray measurements. With the help of the beta decay ft values and internal conversion electron measurements, spins and parities were deduced for levels inNd. Among the levels a 7 state at 2222.0 keV and a 5 state at 2273.3 keV are identified as two-neutron quasiparticle states. The (ie233-01) forPm andPm have been deduced as 7 and 1, respectively. From beta end-point measurements, the decay energies of the two isomers have been determined as Q=6.48±0.07 MeV(Pm) and Q=6.08±0.10 MeV (Pm). The results are discussed in the light of nuclear systematics of the N=79 and 80 isotones. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The decay characteristics of 19 minSb have been studied using Ge(Li) and scintillation spectrometers. The sources ofSb were obtained by the ( n, p) reaction on enrichedTe. The gamma rays of energies 414.4±0.3, 666.7±0.5 and 696.1±0.5 keV were found decaying with a half-life of 19 min. The study of beta spectra employing an anthracene crystal yielded two beta groups with end-point energies of 1.9±0.15 and 2.5±0.15 MeV. The results of singles and coincidence measurements have been incorporated into a decay scheme with excited states ofTe at 666.7, 1,362.8 and 1,777.2 keV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current study entail successful formulation and evaluation of floating Bioadhesive tablet of Glipizide for prolongation of gastric residence time using the floating-Bioadhesive potential of natural gum and effervescent agent. Floating Bioadhesive tablets were formulated with various materials at varying concentrations was used for release controlling properties. The tablets were prepared by Direct Compression Technique and the prepared tablets remained buoyant for more than 12 h in the release medium and showed good bioadhesion strength. The variant concentration of Xanthan gum, Guar gum and Chiotsan showed significant difference in the release rate, buoyancy, Bioadhesive strength and lag of tablet. The prepared Floating Bioadhesive tablets were evaluated for their physiochemical properties such as Physical appearance, hardness, weight variation, friability, floating lag time, total floating time, swelling index drug content. In vitro dissolution studies were carried out by using dissolution apparatus USP (basket type) by using phosphate buffer pH 6.8 as dissolution media. On increasing the hardness of the tablets results in increased floating lag time. On the basis of combined result of in vitro dissolution, drug content and ex vivo bioadhesion, weight variation, hardness, swelling index, buoyancy lag time and total floating time. The formulation F1 is the best among all nine formulations resulted 95.53±0.98% drug release spread over 15 h. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
