The tourism industry has become a major contributor to the economic growth. However, because of the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the year 2020 became an extremely difficult year for the global tourism industry. Since the development of the tourism industry depends largely on changes in travel sentiment, it is important to analyze these changes in light of the pandemic. To determine the development trends of travel sentiment, a hybrid grey prediction model was used to predict travel sentiment globally and in the top 10 destination countries considering the shock effect of COVID-19 and vaccination. The results showed that the grey prediction models integrated with residual modification model contributed to improving the prediction accuracy. In addition, COVID-19 and vaccination were found to have opposite effects on travel sentiment. Based on the predictions, governments should strengthen pandemic prevention and control and administer vaccines to restore travel sentiment and promote tourism recovery.

Abstract Background To meet the needs of aging and dementia patients in Taiwan, this study designed a nursing system that includes communication, location tracking, and fall detection, and early warning services. The main purpose of this research is to provide timely services to the elderly and patients and hope to reduce the burden when the number of nursing staff decreases. This article is a remote disease care service platform with the Internet of Things (IoT) devices to monitor the location of the elderly and whether they have dropped warning alerts. Results The device is connected to the patient's waist and chest, monitors the patient's movement and behavior, and transmits messages to the back-end system, and informs caregivers through mobile phone applications when unexpected or shocking events occur. The system can identify whether the patient has fallen, accidentally, or long-term inactivity. The device is equipped with sensors that enable it to monitor the patient's location and behavior data through Bluetooth and GPS technology. Finally, we proposed a basic model and an integrated model that will industrialize the system and is expected to play a role in a larger patient population. Conclusions The system developed in this research has passed the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) test and verification, and is expected to provide appropriate safety care services for nursing homes and elderly residences.

The joint hypothesis test is a replicable interpretation of the quantity theory of money (QTM) when used as an inflation theory. This study examined the effect of money supply and gross domestic product (GDP) growth on inflation volatility. We used the cross-country data of 40 countries, both in 2002 and 2014, from the World Bank publications. We analyzed the data using both the unrestricted regression model and joint hypothesis testing (the Wald test). The unrestricted regression results pointed inflation volatility in 40 countries was mostly driven by the monetary side, not by the real sector. Meanwhile, the joint hypothesis test demonstrated Strong Wald and Weak Wald test for the QTM prediction were rejected. These findings implied undesirable results from a monetarist perspective. We proposed an alternative method to confirm the joint hypothesis test from the QTM. It would be interesting to see whether our findings hold in other countries.

In this paper, the effects of Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) and exports on economic growth in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Plus Three countries are explored. The panel data of a total of 13 countries pertaining to the period from 2008 to 2018 were analyzed. Based on the result of the Lagrange Multiplier (LM) test, the data fit to the random effect model. In a similar fashion, the Wald test suggests that there is no endogeneity problem in the given model. Furthermore, the results of the Hausman and Chow test also indicate that the random effect model is the most effective model to describe the effects of FDIs and exports on economic growth. The results prove that FDIs positively impact economic growth. In addition, exports also have a positive and meaningful effect on economic growth. Overall, the paper empirically confirms FDI-led growth and export-led growth. To conclude, the findings indicate the fact that FDIs and exports are crucial for boosting the economic growth of the ASEAN+3 countries. The ASEAN+3 region remains quite an attractive destination for international companies around the world when FDIs and trade are concerned.

his study aims to analyze the Keynes’ investment and saving model in Indonesia from 1981 to 2018. The researchers use the econometric test from the Granger causality test to find the short-run causal relationship and the Vector Error Correction Model to reveal both the short-run and long-run effects in the model. The result of Granger causality test demonstrates that there is no short-run causal relationship between these two variables. In the short-run, the increase in saving affects the consumption loans more compared to the investment loans. Besides, increased consumption compared to saving has more influence in raising investment. However, the Vector Error Correction Model proves that saving negatively affects investment in the long-run. This model empirically supports the long-run Keynes’ investment and saving model. Consequently, the Indonesian government needs to consider saving as a policy instrument to increase investment in the long-run.

The importance of this study in bridging the gap between existing research literature works by analysing the influence of green marketing and awareness of the green brand on customer satisfaction of mineral water products. The analysis adopted a quantitative and analytical approach by administering structured questionnaires. The questionnaire developed based on the objectives of the research and the analysis of the relevant literature on green marketing, green brand awareness, and customer satisfaction. The results revealed green marketing had no influence on customer satisfaction in the case of the Pristine 8 + bottled mineral water customers. However, it was found that green brand awareness has a positive influence on customer satisfaction. Green marketing and green brand awareness simultaneously have a positive influence on customer satisfaction of the Pristine 8 + bottled mineral water brand. This study expands the scientific literature by providing empirical evidence on green marketing, green brand awareness on customer satisfaction that also can use as a consideration that might help companies to make decisions that will allow them to surpass their competitors through green marketing and green brand awareness, and to meet their customer satisfaction.

The importance of this study is to identify the influence of emotional, intellectual and spiritual intelligence factors on employee performance, through work motivation as a moderating variable in the PIKP Company, bridging the gap between existing research literature and offering an empirical reference to the industry's experience. This study demonstrates an empirical analysis by taking a quantitative approach to identifying and explaining the degree of the variables' influence on the hypotheses proposed. The emotional intelligence and intellectual variable demonstrated a positive and significant influence on the performance of the employee while the variable of spiritual intelligence had a positive but not significant influence. As for the moderating variable, the test results obtained on the performance of the employee reveal the results of the test hypotheses which vary. The empirical findings in this study were obtained through t-test and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA).

The return and volatility spillover effects on Asian Dragons were investigated in this study. Yahoo Finance provided the monthly statistics (from August 1997 to December 2020). This study used a generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity–autoregressive moving average (GARCH–ARMA) model. The results showed that return spillover effects were observed in unidirectional relationships, but volatility spillover effects were shown in both unidirectional and bidirectional connections. The TSEC Weighted Index (TWII) and the Hang Seng Index (HSI) were net stock market return transmitters to other markets, whereas the Straits Times Index (STI) and the Korean Composite Stock Price Indices (KOSPI) were net receivers. Simultaneously, the STI was a significant net transmitter of stock market volatility to other markets, according to research. As a result, the KOSPI has become a safe haven for portfolio investors. Portfolio managers and overseas investors who are reviewing investment and asset allocation decisions should be aware of these facts.

Research Design & Methods: This study reflects an empirical analysis by taking a quantitative approach to finding and demonstrating the degree of the influence of variables on the proposed hypotheses. Findings: The variables of soft skills, i.e. interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills have shown a positive influence on motivation and a positive impact on employee performance. These variables have a continuous effect on the overall performance of the company. The analytical results represented empirically through the path analysis conducted in this study. Contribution & Value Added: This study emphasizes the creation of understanding among companies, primarily to strengthen soft skills that go hand in hand with growing hard skills, to promote encouragement to take the effect of the overall performance of employees and organizations to thrive and indeed grow in the current era of global competition.

Objective: Labor economics policy instruments, such as gross domestic product (GDP) and unemployment are persistent challenges for every country. As an emerging country, Indonesia seeks to reduce unemployment and increase gross domestic product. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between GDP and the open unemployment rate in Indonesia starting from 1987 to 2017. Research Design & Methods: The data were obtained from Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics website. Moreover, the econometric model of the Granger causality and Structural Vector Autoregression capture the causality of GDP and the open unemployment rate. Findings: The Granger causality test suggested the open unemployment rate does Granger cause gross domestic product, but not vice versa. In line with the Structural Vector Auto-regression, there was a negative relationship between GDP and the open unemployment rate. Contribution & Value Added: This study is in line with Okun’s law which explains the more labor used in production will have implications for increasing GDP in the economy. It means this study presents evidence to support the existence of Okun’s law in Indonesia. Also, this study contributes to the literature in an emerging country by using the Structural Vector Autoregression model.

Objective: International trade plays a major role in increasing the output of each country. Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is one of Indonesia’s major export commodities. Facts show over the past two decades, CPO has become a fast-growing product. However, there are obstacles from one of Indonesia’s CPO importers, namely the European Union. The aim of this study is to explore the nexus between the exchange rate and the world price of CPOs. Research Design & Methods: This study uses both the exchange rate of Indonesia and the price data of the world CPO from 1981-2017 as secondary. Granger Causality was used to explain the nexus between the exchange rate and the world price of CPOs. Findings: The results of the Granger Causality showed there was no causality between the exchange rate and the price of the world CPO. The lack of causality between the two variables suggests the trade balance’s position is stronger and able to explain the exchange rate. Contribution & Value Added: This study indicated that the IDR exchange rate is more sensitive to trade balance rather than the world CPO price. Moreover, It is necessary to refined palm oil products to increase the contribution of the non-oil sector in Indonesia. In addition, the Indonesian government needs to be aware of the European Union’s raised barriers to world trade. It means that Indonesia can make a positive campaign about the ad-vantages of palm oil production.

Higher education institutions’ contributions to environmental conservation are manifested in their commitments to develop Sustainable Campuses. Numerous studies have investigated higher education institutions’ efforts to create Sustainable Campuses. Many studies on Sustainable Campuses have been completed partially. The analysis is carried out on the basis of practices at various campuses around the world. However, a thorough analysis of Sustainable Campuses has so far not been carried out. This is evidenced by the lack of publications on journal database portals related to Sustainable Campuses which are carried out in a systematic literature review. To address this gap, this study provides a systematic and comprehensive review of the literature on Sustainable Campuses. The purpose of this article is to identify various dimensions of implementing Sustainable Campuses from various countries. We use the qualitative systematic review method with the meta-aggregation approach in this study. The results of this study indicate that Sustainable Campus development activities are classified into three aspects such as behavioral, learning and educational tools, and physical facilities. Further, each dimension has several strategies and programs and actions performed by global higher education institutions. The results are also expected to be a motivator and reference for campuses to contribute to environmental conservation through Sustainable Campus programs. The various dimensions of a Sustainable Campus that are mapped out in this research can be used as a reference for realizing a Sustainable Campus for every university campus in various countries.

The authors investigate the firm value of semiconductor industry in Taiwan in order to differentiate between outstanding semiconductor company and weak semiconductor company. The authors use GAP which is analytical tool to perform four steps: the original maps, sorting maps with clustering trees, summary sufficient maps, and sediment maps. The findings offer a good instruction for policymakers to make related policies in semiconductor firms. Additionally, the paper helps to find firms needed to be reformed through classification by GAP.

The purpose – The prompt and efficient changes in technology during the past few decades have affected tourism industry. With new emerging technologies (internet) the method of doing business has changed; which makes it a very important factor to understand the consumer behavior and perception in order to recognize, captivate, and retain the customers in the internet based travelling industry. This paper examines the determinants which influence the consumer behavior of the potential customers to use e-tourism services and to show their interrelationship in the perspective of Taiwan. Design/Methodology – Empirical research is been used to determine the findings of this research. A questionnaire was designed based on the past studies related to the variables of the study. The questionnaire consisted of four sections each consisting of four to five statements. The demographic section was also included. A total of 402 completed questionnaires were taken into consideration. Findings – The result of this study shows that determinants considered in this study; generation of stimulus, information search and service quality have a major impact over the loyalty of the consumer which determines the consumer behavior towards the e-tourism services for travel planning purposes. Originality of the research – This is the first kind of research done over consumer behavior of youth specifically in e-tourism industry in Taiwan’s perspective and secondly as the data is collected directly from Taiwan’s youth and is empirically evaluated so we believe its results will help the organizations for making the e-tourism industry more consumer oriented in case of Taiwan.

Indonesian agricultural has big potential to developed, but in fact most of our farmers are still many who are categorized as poor. Looking at Taiwan 's success in fostering innovation and empower agricultural resources, much can be learned in a production system. The policy implemented by the Ministry of agriculture and all stakeholders in Taiwan. For future prospects Indonesia, as applicable steps and future prospects, which should be applied in the rice production system in Indonesia such as maximizing the production of rice, with a maximum cost. Self-sufficiency for rice as staple food is main agenda for government, with expanding farmers rice fields in several potential areas and supported by the principle of conservation principles. Distribution of development agriculture particularly rice, should be offset consistent development of integrated technologies. Quantity must be short-term targets, with diversified land and production quality use unfettered access to farmers' access to protection in aspects of management, availability of equipment, and impartial subsidies in accordance with applicable regulations. Policy implementation should be consistent with the applicable law and Indonesian agricultural development strategic plan together with all stakeholders.

Accurate electricity forecasting is still the critical issue in many energy management fields. The applications of hybrid novel algorithms with support vector regression (SVR) models to overcome the premature convergence problem and improve forecasting accuracy levels also deserve to be widely explored. This paper applies chaotic function and quantum computing concepts to address the embedded drawbacks including crossover and mutation operations of genetic algorithms. Then, this paper proposes a novel electricity load forecasting model by hybridizing chaotic function and quantum computing with GA in an SVR model (named SVRCQGA) to achieve more satisfactory forecasting accuracy levels. Experimental examples demonstrate that the proposed SVRCQGA model is superior to other competitive models.

Hybridizing chaotic evolutionary algorithms with support vector regression (SVR) to improve forecasting accuracy is a hot topic in electricity load forecasting. Trapping at local optima and premature convergence are critical shortcomings of the tabu search (TS) algorithm. This paper investigates potential improvements of the TS algorithm by applying quantum computing mechanics to enhance the search information sharing mechanism (tabu memory) to improve the forecasting accuracy. This article presents an SVR-based load forecasting model that integrates quantum behaviors and the TS algorithm with the support vector regression model (namely SVRQTS) to obtain a more satisfactory forecasting accuracy. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms the alternatives.

This paper primarily aims to investigate information and communication technology accessibility among teachers and students in higher secondary schools in Gilgit Baltistan GB. The study included 200 students and 100 teachers from various government, private, and non-governmental schools in Gilgit Baltistan. The LIKERT scale was used to design a questionnaire and was distributed to teachers and students the data was statistically analyzed, revealing the average percentage of both teacher and student has been accessibility level 53.47%, 42.61%, and non-accessibility level 46.53%, 57.34%. The analysis shows that the teacher's accessibility level has been moderate, while students have had a low one. Further, teachers educationally lack advanced level skills, and students have no such barrier to using educational tools. Based on these findings, it was recommended that institutions and authorities should provide advance level skill training to teachers and educational tools to both students and teachers to ensure ICT integration in the teaching and learning process. The research investigates the impact of ethical leadership and servant leadership on team innovation while testing task interdependence’s moderating role. Data was gathered from 243 participants employed in construction sector companies in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Muzaffarabad, Pakistan, to examine the suggested connections. This was done through the use of structured and self-administered questionnaires. The acquired data were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis in the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The findings indicated that both ethical and Servant Leadership have a significant and beneficial influence on team creativity.Furthermore, the suggested moderating assumptions about task interdependence were also confirmed. The discussion encompasses the study’s consequences regarding theory and practical applications. This study aims to explore the relationship between spending on goods and services and the revenue generated locally in North Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. By combining different types of data, the research seeks to provide a thorough analysis of this connection. Various statistical tests, including the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange multiplier tests, are conducted to determine the most appropriate model, with the results favoring the Random Effect Model. The findings from the panel data regression analysis, using the Random Effect Model, indicate a positive and statistically significant impact of goods and services expenditure on local revenue in the Regency/City Governments of North Kalimantan Province. This suggests that increasing investments in goods and services plays a significant role in boosting economic prosperity in the region. This study contributes valuable insights to existing knowledge by shedding light on the link between goods and services expenditure and local revenue in North Kalimantan Province. This study aims to investigate the impact of spiritual leadership on project outcomes and to explore the possible mediating effect of project goal clarity, as well as the moderating role of perceived organizational support. Grounded in social exchange theory, this study contributes to the literature by investigating the mechanisms--specifically project goal clarity--that connect spiritual leadership with project success and by examining the role of employees' perceptions within the organization, such as perceived organizational support. The quantitative analysis involved data from 258 employees in the IT sector, specifically from private software firms. Data analysis was performed using the Preacher and Hayes process method with SPSS version 21.0 and Amos. The results indicate that spiritual leadership has a positive effect on project success. Furthermore, the study shows that project goal clarity partially mediates the relationship between spiritual leadership and project success, while perceived organizational supportmoderates the association between project goal clarity and project success. Background: Advertising media are frequently employet as promotial media to disseminate information about produducts. The aspect of celebrity endorser's profile is their level of attractiveness, another aspect their credibility and domain knowledge. Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of attractiveness, credibility, and expertise of celebrity endorsers on purchasing decisions. Method : Experimental research techniques are 59 participants were utilize as the experimental and 60 participants as the control. The data for this study were derived from responses of participants who had received various treatments prior to the distribution of the questionnair. Result : The variable attraction (X1) of the celebrity endorser to the purchase decision (Y) has a value of 0.011 and a significant t-count value of 4.891 at = 0.05 (one-way) ttable value of 1.986. The t-count value > the t-table. The credibility variable (X2) of the celebrity endorser to the purchase decision (Y) has a value of 0.085 and a significant t-count value of 3.426 at = 0.05 (one-way) table t value of 1.986. The tcount value > the t-table. The skill variable (X3) of the celebrity endorser to the purchase decision (Y) has a value of 0.051 and a t-count value of 2.416 is significant at = 0.05 (one-way) t-table value 1986. T-count value > t -table. Conclusion: The results in this study showed that the celebrity endorser variable (X1), credibility variable (X2) and skill variable (X3) had a positive and significant correlation effect on purchasing decisions (Y). This study to examined the practice of industry 4.0 and lean production implementation in Indonesia SMEs, therefore the result can be used to identify the aspect of industry 4.0 which is affecting lean production, identify their roles in the business performance and provide direction to the business practices in implementing industry 4.0 for Indonesia SMEs. The study utilized the Statistical Package Pocket Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0 software. The respondents are owner, director, manager and, acting manager from 25 SMEs and, the statements of questioner the role of lean production practices and, industry 4.0 implementation in Indonesia SMEs, the questions of interview of lean production practices, however, it used only four from nine indicators of industry 4.0. The growth of SMEs in Indonesia increased post of 1997-1998 monetary crisis also during the covid pandemic, the SMEs continues to increase of prior studies analyzed about the importance of lean manufacturing for SMEs and the challenge of Industry 4.0 within SMEs in Indonesia, however, there is no study analyze about lean production practice and industry 4.0 implementation in Indonesia SMEs. The results of this study revealed that within Indonesia SMEs there were positive and simultaneous influences on lean production practices and industry 4.0 implementation. Going through the operation in past years, high-tech industry has formally acquired positive affirmation. The basic character of high-tech industry shows technology-intensive and capital-intensive high-risk and high-profit industrial characteristics based on innovative competition. Since the maturity of the Internet, the entire education environment is largely changed and expanded to comprehensive and diverse computer multimedia networks. The application of multimedia to innovation education therefore becomes the new core of business management in technology industry. Aiming at employees of high-tech industry in Fujian Province, total 450 copies of questionnaire are distributed in this study, and 341 valid copies are retrieved, with the retrieval rate 76%. The research results show positive relations between 1.innovation education and technology innovation, 2.technology innovation and entrepreneurial competitiveness, and 3.innovation education and entrepreneurial competitiveness. At the end, suggestions are proposed according to the results, expecting to assist high-tech organizations in promoting technology innovation and entrepreneurial competitiveness through innovation education. In the recent years, semiconductor industry has developed well, representing Taiwan the prosperity of the electronics industry. Semiconductor industry have IC design, IC manufacturing and IC packaging and testing. In order to maintain the world accounting rate Taiwan's IC packaging and testing industry the world's first, accurate prediction of product sales, is not only reducing costs, but also is better able to control the budget, trace market trends. Main purpose of this study is established the sales forecasting model, understanding the sales status of the Semiconductor Industry in Taiwan. The research range is the sales volume of Taiwan's Semiconductor Industry starting from 1999 year until year 2014, using Exponential Smoothing and ARIMA model is used to forecast and also analyze the data. In the end we will use Alpha Significance in order to measure the accuracy of model, moreover, finding more fit models. The research results show that Exponential Smoothing Holt's model is better than ARIMA in ASSY plant sales and ARIMA (0, 1, 0) is better than Exponential Smoothing in TEST plant sales. This paper mainly discusses the persistent impact to the bank's financial performance caused by Taiwan ruling authorities' policy in inhibiting housing prices. By vertical and horizontal data we observe the changes in bank's financial panel data smooth transition regression(PSTR) model. First, the sustained financial performance expressing nonlinear smooth transition results is supported, and the threshold values at the transition variables regarding the scores of comprehensive trend in housing prices and the rate of the loan burden are determined. Secondly, it is proved that government should be gentle in implementing policy to curb housing prices. If lowering housing prices rapidly, it will cause financial performance of banks with a low degree of continuity; that is: financial performance of banks will entirely affected by exogenous circumstances, and present an unstable state. In pursuit of business sustainability, high-tech enterprises seek an approach that can improve their competitive advantages, especially through mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Traditional financial measures cannot assess the performance of this overall organizational strategy; this study uses a data envelopment analysis combined with balanced scorecard indicators to examine changes in efficiency. A non-parametric Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Malmquist productivity index also analyze productivity changes. The results confirm that M&As do not provide a means to short-circuit the process of organic growth. Conventional chiller plants rely on human judgment or control, based on pressure and temperature variables for setting and adjusting component-operating status. However, these methods lack scientific, systematic, and optimal logic and results in imprecise operation and excessive energy consumption. This study proposes a new control model for chiller plant operation. The new model is built upon System Optimization Theory and based on actual cooling capacity for operating adjustment, and with performance, condition, and relevance of each component during actual operation. It also uses an actual case study to test model rationality and efficiency. Test results show that the new control model achieves better energy efficiency operations in the original chiller plant. This paper explores the importance of foreign subsidiaries' network embeddedness as a strategic resource for market performance and technological competence in multinational enterprises. The conceptual framework of this study is made up of six components: network formative motivation, external network structure, business embeddedness, technical embeddedness, market performance and technological knowledge transfer. Two different types of network embeddedness - business embeddedness and technological embeddedness - are proposed to have an influence on the subsidiaries' market performance as well as on technological knowledge transfer of new products and production processes in the MNE. Using data on 106 Taiwan's electrical and electronic manufacturers gathered from a benchmarking questionnaire, eight hypotheses are tested in a LISREL model analysis. The results reveal that the seven hypotheses are supported, albeit under circumstances in which the relationship between network formative motivation and technical embeddedness is not significant. The study's findings highlight that the foreign subsidiaries' external network embeddedness is a determinate factor in enhancing the whole MNE's competitive capacity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Small and medium-sized businesses make a significant contribution to Indonesia’s economy. The goal of this essay is to assess the degree to which strategy and the digital marketing environment have an impact. Data collection was carried out by observation and the distribution of 120 questionnaires, and the research approach employed was quantitative research using SPSS 23. The findings of the article demonstrate that SMEs strategies may swiftly adjust to changes in technology by paying attention to features of functions, interpersonal communication, access, incentives, and the quality of production and services.

Objective: As part of a developing country, Indonesia is concerned with issues related to investment inflows and trade liberalization. The objective of this study is to examine whether or not inward foreign direct investment (FDI) influence to export performance in Indonesia over the time period 1980-2018. Research Design & Methods: We apply Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillip-Perron unit root test to check the stationarity. The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL)-bound test is applied to check co-integration existence. Findings: Results present that the variables are stationary at first differences I(1). The ARDL bound testing co-integration approach confirms that there is long-run relationship between considered variables. The findings also indicate the significant positive impacts of FDI on exports in long run and in the short run. The result of the Granger causality test confirms that there is a unidirectional causal relationship existing between the variables where export has a Granger cause to FDI. Results of stability test suggest that there is structural stability in the residuals of the equation of exports. Contribution & Value Added: FDI does not work uniformly in all sectors, and policymakers should understand the difference and identify their sector-wise policies relating with FDI. The law and order should also be maintained, which is the essential part to attract foreign investors. At this stage, we can also set the direction of future research, that is, the sector-wise study should be done on the relationship between FDI and exports.
