ABCTRACT The diploma thesis focuses on seven alternative educational systems in the Czech kindergartens environment in connection with music and musical rituals. The thesis describes the key features of these alternative kindergartens. The theoretical part of the work focuses primarily on the concept of music and musical rituals that are implemented in the given alternatives. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis was to find out and describe these rituals from the available literature regarding the given alternatives. Qualitative research was conducted using a questionnaire survey method among teachers working in the respective kindergartens. The practical part of the thesis presents specific rituals that are implemented in alternative kindergartens. The conclusion of the research describes the contents of musical rituals and presents their sources. 1 ABSTRACT The bachelor thesis " Intonation of a French sentence with enumeration by Czech speakers - a contrastive study" describes the issue of selected prosodic phenomena of these two languages with a closer focus on intonation. The theoretical part introduces phonetics and phonology in general and subsequently presents the Czech and French phonetic systems - their segmental and suprasegmental levels. This bachelor thesis therefore describes the syllabic system and the basic prosodic elements of both languages studied. Among the basic prosodic phenomena, it describes the syllable, rhythm, rhythmic group, accent, and intonation. The practical part focuses on the analysis of intonation of Czech speakers in a French sentence with enumeration. A recording of a native speaker and a recording from the textbook (from which the sentence with enumeration was used for the recordings) are also analysed for comparison. The aim of the practical part was to find out whether native Czech speakers who speak French would follow the intonation of their native language for the given type of sentence or whether they would be proficient enough to use the intonation typical of the French language for a declarative sentence with enumeration. The diploma thesis focuses on a design of an annual teaching plan for a musical and dancing afterschool program for elementary school students. The aim of the thesis is to present a dance style called "clogging" (American country step) and to present a methodology for teaching its basics, in which emphasis will be placed not only on getting acquainted with elements of this style, but also on the musical development of pupils. The diploma thesis was intended as a possible inspiration for the leaders of dance clubs who aim to teache their pupils not only to dance but to perceive the music sensibly and to work with it as well. It also coul serve as an inspiration for music teachers who would like to make their classes special or devote themselves to leading a musical and dancing afterschool program with an unusual focus. The theoretical part presents the development of children of younger school age, music and movement education and familiarization with the history and basics of clogging technique. The practical part presents the teaching plan of the musical and dancing afterschool program, which consists of a description of eighteen lessons that contain an offer of music and movement activities for one term and include the use of clogging elements.

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the rhythmic feeling of children aged 5-7 years in connection with the music element of The Good Start Method. The aim of the diploma thesis is to present the issue of connecting psychology and music for the use in pedagogy, with emphasis on The Good Start Method. Using my own research, i evaluate its theoretical basis, practical use and point out its problematic parts and try to find a possible improvement of this method. Title: Aerobics intervention motoric program for individuals with Down syndrome. Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to create and verify an aerobics intervention program based on an analysis of theoretical background and an interview with specialists in the sphere of sports and education of people with DS. Methods: The work is focused on the creation and implementation of an aerobics intervention program for people with Down syndrome (DS) based on an analysis of theoretical background and an interview with specialists. The planned methods of data collection that were used are a semi-structured interview, analysis of theoretical background, induction, description of knowledge and own creative work during creating the program. Results: The research shows that people with Down syndrome enjoy sports. Despite the advances brought by modern times, the offer of physical activities for people with Down syndrome seems to be poor. Due to the health complications that Down syndrome brings with it, aerobic activities for individuals with the mentioned diagnosis seem to be suitable and developmental for their physical and mental side. The thesis is focused on creating a test battery for the sense of rhythm assessment for university students in the field of Physical Education and sport. Music-sports practice lacks such tests and so far it is forced to use only tests designed for the music field. The structure of the new tests corresponds to the characteristics of the sense of rhythm from the point of view of music psychology. The tests are divided into three sections, which are Perceptual Skills and Activities (items 1 to 18), Reproductive Skills and Activities (items 19 to 27) and Production Skills and Activities (item 28). The Classical test theory (factor analysis) and Item response theory (two-parametric model) were used for the statistical processing of results. The methods also included the calculation of the reliability and validity of the test. The expected refusal of the proposed hypothesis was confirmed in both the classical test theory and item response theory. The exception was model 4, whose fit indexes, especially TLI = 0.537, showed a lack of evidence for the refusal of the hypothesis rather than for a perfect fit of the model with the data. Rhythm in drawing is a theme of this bachelor thesis. In my paper I pursue with a drawing like a means of fine art statement of particular emotions, gesture, opinion and rhythm either and its connection with drawing. I concretely profess to action art and performance art. The paper is made from three parts. In a theoretical part I refer on history of drawing, various techniques and modifications of drawing and I also refer on rhythm and its influences on a human. I describe artists from the second half of 20. century who use rhythm in their art work and I also introduce artists who inspired me with their own creation to my own artwork. In a practical part I show an origin, goings and results of my own artwork, which is connected with rhythm and drawing, with photo-documentation, video-documentation, back reflection and self-reflection. In the last part I present my art line of tasks for pedagogical use of action drawing in conjunction with rhythm within the framework of school lessons, which is partly inspired by my own artwork, that can be found in my practical part, and partly by everydayness. Rhythmic Trajectories ist eine Serie von kurzen Etüden, welche die rhythmischen Elemente bestimmter Filmsequenzen visuell und akustisch akzentuieren. Als Cutterin und Forscherin interessiere ich mich dafür, filmische Rhythmen aufzuzeigen und visuell darzustellen. Ich folge hier der Idee von Karen Pearlman, dass "die Funktionen des Rhythmus darin bestehen, Zyklen der Spannung und der Entspannung zu erzeugen und die körperlichen, emotionalen und kognitiven Schwankungen des Zuschauers mit den Rhythmen des Films zu synchronisieren." (Pearlman 2009: 61) Rhythmic Trajectories stellen ein sinnliches, kinästhetisches Wissen über einen Film dar. In meiner Arbeit erarbeite ich eine Visualisierung dieser Trajektorien, indem ich der gegebenen Filmsequenz eine Schicht des visuellen „close reading“ hinzufüge, während die ursprüngliche Sequenz erhalten bleibt. Mein Forschungsprojekt befindet sich an der Schnittstelle von Informationsvisualisierung, Digital Humanities und künstlerischer Praxis und folgt einem mixed method Ansatz. Der Artikel besteht aus zwei Visualisierungen und einem schriftlichen Teil, der die Forschungsfragen darstellen, die Forschung in die verschiedenen Bereiche einordnen und Einblick in den kreativen Prozess der Entwicklung der ersten beiden Visualisierungen geben soll. In der ersten Etüde wird eine Sequenz aus der Kurzdokumentation Wagah (Supriyo Sen, 2009, Deutschland / Indien) verwendet, die von der Autorin geschnitten wurde und die die bizarre Choreographie der Flaggensenkungszeremonie an der indisch-pakistanischen Grenze zeigt. In diesem Video-Essay wird untersucht, wie Rhythmus aus verschiedenen Elementen wie Klang und Bewegung, Farbe, grafischen Strukturen, Schnitten usw. aufgebaut werden kann. Die rhythmische Struktur wurde dekonstruiert und formalisiert, um eine abstrakte Notation zu erreichen und eine Bewegung darzustellen. Die zweite Etüde konzentriert sich auf den Rhythmus der Gesten in einer Szene aus dem Film A Woman under the Influence/Eine Frau unter Einfluß (John Cassavetes, 1974, USA), geschnitten von David Armstrong, in der die Hauptfigur (gespielt von Gena Rowlands) während eines Streits mit ihrem Mann (gespielt von Peter Falk) wild gestikuliert. Dies ist eine „Nahaufnahme“ der Gesten, die das Gespräch definieren und führen. Mit einer ähnlichen Visualisierungsmethode werden Gesten in bunte mäandernde Linien umgesetzt.

The following master thesis covers the use of the recorder and music activities as part of logopaedic prevention by preschool-age children. The theoretical part describes the general knowledge about speech, malfunctions of communicational skills emphasizing developmental dysphasia and dyslalia. The major part deals with music therapy and recorder and describes them as tools of logopaedic prevention. The practical part analyses data gained from the own action research and includes an in-depth case history of a boy suffering from developmental dysphasia. This part focuses mainly on analysing the impact of diverse musical activities with children within preschool music classes. The analysis also covers children's good practice of breathing habits as well as their melodic and rhythmic perception.

5 ABSTRACT Romani folk song is not generally known among Czech population, which is a reason why this thesis in its theoretical part tries to familiarize with its origin, describe historical development of Romani music and divide songs according to functions and close geographical areas of its occurrence, so that a comprehensive picture can be created for the readers. The following part brings analysis of five Romani dance songs, which are described musically, textually and semantically. This section is based on various songbooks and audio recordings to create as authentic a version of a song as possible. The songs are enriched of sheet music together with lyrics and harmonisation for better possibilities of their application. The thesis continues with a suggestion of eventual means of application of Romani folk songs in vocal, musical and physical education. Moreover, there are described analysed songs with Romani scatting suggestions, typical features of expression, dance steps and rhythmical moves, which are typically observed in Romani culture. The thesis deals with the problem phenomenon of music in the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche. What place does the music occupy in their philosophy, how they understood it and defined it? These are the main issues that are gradually discussed and answered. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part of the thesis deals with Schopenhauer's concept of music, the second part is about Nietzsche's concept, and the third part is an assessment of the differences of their opinions of the issue of will as music. There is also a practical part in the thesis, namely the analysis of Nietzsche's early musical composition. I also refer to the personality of the composer Richard Wagner, who was influenced by both philosophers and vice versa. At the end of the thesis I evaluate and summarize whether the aim of the thesis was fulfilled and if it answered the aforesaid questions.

This thesis is concerned with exploration of the interdisciplinarity of school subjects, specifically the link between mathematics and physical education. The educational goals and content of these subjects, as they are taught in majority of schools, are described in the theoretical part. The subsequent chapters analyze the form of interdisciplinarity in the current educational system, with the focus on the interdisciplinary relation between mathematics and physical education. The practical part of this thesis consists of case reports of students who took part in physical education with activities focused on rhythm in mathematics. This intervention was administered in two fourth grade classes, that were compared with two different fourth grades that took part in regular physical education. The differences between these classes were investigated by examining the students' attitude towards mathematics and physical education, as well as students' mathematical knowledge, which was assessed by administering tests before and after the physical education interventions. Title: Use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage Abstract: The topic of the bachelor thesis is the use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains 4 sections. The first section is entirely dedicated to the acquired brain damage. The second section describes the motor system and structures involved in its management. The third section summarizes information related to music therapy, neurological music therapy, rhythmical stimulation in neurological music therapy, music, rhythm and their influence on the human brain. In the last section, the Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance is described in more details, the elements of which are further used in the practical part. The practical part is built on two case studies illustrating two female patients with an upper limb motor disorder caused by cerebral stroke. The thesis deals with the development of pre-school children's musical feeling using specific and particular music activities. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a brief and general overview of music activities for pre-school children. It has only a theoretical part explaining what music is and describes its principles. However, there is also a chapter devoted to a musical development of children according to Mr Holas. The major part describes specific musical activities, instruments and songs. Musical and text notations of songs are included. Moreover, there are also described some activities which can be used for working with children in kindergartens. Some of these activities are not so much well-known.

The main theme of this bachelor's thesis is the purpose of rhythmic-movement education of children with hearing impairment. It deals with a new quality which develops through the connection of music and movement. This connection makes music accessible to people with different hearing impairment and engaging body into musical activities enhances the experience of perceiving music. The theoretical part focuses on the issue of hearing impairment and possibilities of hearing prosthetics. It introduces the specifics of child with hearing impairment development, the way of their communication and education. The thesis also mentions the influence of music, movement and its connection on a person. The practical part covers the musical and movement activities carried out at four pre-school institutions two specialised pre-schools for children with hearing impairment and two ordinary pre-schools integrating children with hearing impairment. Based on the acquired information and specialised literature a series of rhythmic-movement activities was created which was implemented by the author.

In this diploma thesis, we create a collection of folk songs with piano accompaniments for primary school. The complexity of said accompaniments is offered in two versions: basic one for beginners and more advanced one for skilled piano players. This collection contains songs in major and minor key, duple and triple time.

Characterization work: The rhythm of the movement is considered one of the basic assumptions of the optimum design movement technique. Master's thesis addresses the implementation of didactic tool to musical movement activities of preschool children in kindergarten with respect to the integrative nature of education. The first part of the thesis is covering theoretical side of the important aspects of child development at the age of five to six years. Further it deals with the specifics of the development of musicality in preschoolers, especially focusing on instrumental side of the music. It highlights the musical creativity that flows from the principles of Orff School. Musical creativity is one of the objective of the thesis second, practical part. Experiment, observation and structured interview are used as methods of research that is focused on verification of the Cup Song impact on a musical and personal development of the child. This Masters thesis is an attempt to analyse the significance of rhythm in electronic dance music. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether rhythm can create meaning within electronic dance music, and to analyse its effect on the structure of the genre. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part we will define the theories of music semiotics with regard to the structuralist approach and the traditional approach of CH. S. Peirce. We will describe the ways rhythm can operate and define what the term electronic dance music means. In the second part we will analyze rhythmic structures of individual sub-genres by comparing and contrasting basic elements of the rhythmic pattern.

This thesis aims to thoroughly describe the temporal characteristics of spoken Czech by means of phone durations and their changes under the influence of several prosodic and segmental factors, such as position in a higher unit (syllable, word or prosodic phrase), length of the higher unit, segmental environment, structure of the syllable or phrase-final lengthening. The speech material comes from a semi-spontaneous corpus of scripted dialogues comprising 4046 utterances by 34 speakers. The descriptions are afterwards used for the creation of a rule-based temporal model, which provides a baseline for analysing local articulation rate contours and their speaker-specificity. The results indicate, that systematic speaker-specific differences can be found in the segmental domain, as well as in the temporal contours. The first and the main part of the bachelor thesis deals with Dewey's conception of experience, with analysis of this process of experience and with aesthetic level of experience. Significant part of bachelor thesis is dedicated to aesthetic experience with art as well, which is discussed in the context of every day experiences. Continuity between both is highlighted. The second part of the bachelor thesis is an addendum to the interpretation of Dewey's theory. This part of the thesis deals with interactive art. Interactive art is interpreted using Dewey's theory. Interactive art is in this paper understood as artistic type which can emphasize continuity between art and everyday experience so as Dewey does.

Personal characteristics of speech rhythm in Russian newsreading Bc. Irena Čížková Abstract An issue of individual rhythmic characteristics of particular 5 native speakers of the Russian language, newsreaders from the BBC, is described in this thesis. A research of the given 5 speech recordings was conducted based on the academic concepts created by Ramus, Mehler and Nespor, and by Low and Grabe and also by Dellwo, so through a speech rhythm research based on rhythm correlates that are related to vocalic and intervocalic intervals. The recordings were processed in an analyting program called Praat and the extracted results were then evaluated in a statistical processor called STATISTICA. These materials were used for further analysis. The recordings were analysed based on several parameters: %V (proportion of vocalic intervals in one breath group), ∆C and ∆V (standard deviation of the vocalic and consonantal interval duration), PVI-V, PVI-C (Pairwise Variability Index of the vocalic and consonantal interval duration), Varco V and Varco C (variation coefficient of the vocalic and consonantal interval duration) and the difference between duration of stressed and unstressed vowels. One of the most common complaints of mothers at the paediatrician's is complaint about the night sleep disorder, especially in older infants and toddlers. Long-term insomnia of a child negatively affects well-being of parents and disrupts peaceful atmosphere of home. We often encounter sleep disorders in babies; mostly they are frequent nocturnal awakenings and difficulty falling asleep. Parents should be therefore informed about sleep issues already at neonatal units, as they are informed about breastfeeding. The target group of this research was mothers of infants and nurses working at neonatal units and in primary paediatric care. The aim of the study was to determine the level of awareness of paediatric nurses and parents about infant sleep and create educational material for nurses. The survey was carried out using a snow ball technique, in-depth interviews with mothers and a questionnaire with open questions for nurses. Collected data were then transcribed, coded, and processed using frame analysis by. Then, using the snow ball method, we gradually extended the sample to 7 mothers of unsleepy infants and 7 mothers of sleepy infants, i.e. to cases that were supposed to strongly manifest the problem. Also, paediatric nurses were selected intentionally according to their place of work at neonatal departments and in primary paediatric care. Parents receive information about infant sleep most often on the Internet, from specialized books and from their own mothers and friends; and they usually do not ask nurses for information on infant sleep. Parent only find out at home that there is a problem with their child's sleep. They tend to try various interventions to lull their baby to sleep. Research has shown that the most common source of knowledge for nurses is their personal experience with their own children. Nurses also use their rich experience gained during long years of practice. Furthermore, they educate themselves in this issue using specialized books, visiting seminars, and they also use the internet. Nurses' advice to mothers regarding infant insomnia is shown in two perspectives in our research. The first is the perspective of mothers and the second one is the perspective of nurses. Surprisingly, there are discrepancies, especially regarding the nurses in primary care. Interventions that were reported by nurses coincide with working techniques of lulling a baby to sleep. In contrast, some interventions which were described by mothers as advice from a nurse rather indicate ignorance or indifference of some nurses. The research showed that the quality of infant sleep may be to some extent influenced by the information given to parents already at neonatal unit by medical staff, because they are in the best position to provide such information. However, mothers often choose different sources. The research has shown that mothers usually instinctively select proper techniques to lull restless infants to sleep without consulting a paediatric nurse. These results have prompted the development of an educational leaflet for nurses which informs about proper practices and appropriate techniques to lull restless unsleepy infants to sleep.

This bachelor's thesis is about František Hrubín's poetry for children. There are his three collections: Říkejte si se mnou, Dvakrát sedm pohádek and Sviť, sluníčko, sviť. The first chapter deals with the development of Czech poetry for children until the mid-twentieth century, folk literature and especially folk poetry. The second chapter introduces us to Hrubín's life and his total works for children. From formal, thematic, rhythmical and verbal points of view are these three collections studied in the third chapter. Four selected poems are analyzed in the fourth chapter. František Hrubín belonged to the most important Czech writers in the twentieth century. Besides literature for adults Hrubín was devoted to poetry for children wholeheartedly. He is recognized as a great creator of modern poetry for children. A basis of his poetry is folk poetry - especially rhyme. His poetry is compositionally and thematically diverse. It is full of joy and hope.

The main objective of this thesis is to analyze places and everyday paths of specific actors, that are generated through their repetitive routine activities. These activities are influenced by certain higher order rules - so-called pacemakers, which are dealt with in the thesis. Part of the thesis not only presents some space-time concepts, but also applies them in practice. The work proceeds from a basic concept of a place being structured through life actors themselves who create such place. These concept pacemakers play an important role, controlling the course of everyday life of the localized place, as well as the course of an ordinary day in the life of the actor. The institution of primary school becomes the main pacemaker and represents a linking element of all parts. In connection with the ongoing process of suburbanization and the reality of changing lifestyle and demographic composition in the neighborhood of cities, one may observe here certain indication of current changing supralocal influence of primary school pacemakers in Pilsen and its suburbs.
