Torstar Corp. is planning to buy the company OMG media which reflects consolidations and change in the out-of-home industry, as of September 15, 2003. As OMG media was gathering speed, in May 2002 it had a head-on collision with bad press. An alleged crime figure in Montreal, Quebec province was stopped driving an SUV registered to OMG, whose then-Quebec president Michael Strizzi, resigned shortly afterwards. Alan High, vice president of marketing and operations for the company Clear Channel Outdoor Canada in Toronto, Ontario suggests Torstar Corp. could deck out OMG boxes with logos in cities where it owns papers and use them to sell single copies.
