Examples of solid and liquid electrical insulations for power transformer are mineral oil and cellulose based paper. As transformers performed their function to step-up or step-down voltage level, its’ insulations will be degraded. Paper insulation is considered the most critical component in a transformer insulation system because it is not easily replaced if compared to oil where it is easily reconditioned in-order to remove water and contaminants. Studies show that temperature, moisture contents and oxygen contributed to paper insulation degradation. Moisture and furanic compound were produced from these deterioration processes. This paper is focused on the formation and effect of moisture to Kraft paper’s life. Levels of moisture contents were obtained from in-service power distribution transformers. These data then is used to assess the Kraft paper’s life by means of Weibull plot. This study shows that level of moisture contents can be used to assess the life of Kraft paper insulation.

The impact of coated paper printability for image quality on the high-fidelity digital printing was studied in this paper. Compared with the traditional printing technology, high-fidelity digital printing technology is more likely to expand the color gamut, maintain the original tone linear and produce vivid image. The performance of coated paper to a large extent determines the image quality. In order to get high-quality printed matters, the mechanism of the coated paper printability influencing on the performance on high-fidelity digital printing is need to be researched in-depth. The printability of coated paper was studied from several aspects in this paper, including the structural properties, roughness, optical properties, absorption etc, the relationships between these properties and printing color, dot reproduction performance were also studied. Based on the previous theoretical and practical studies, the printability evaluation system of coated paper on high-fidelity digital printing was established initially. On digital printing, accurate color management technology also affects the printing quality as the performance of coated paper, so the advanced color management technology was also used in the current study. The results showed that the pore structure and the absorbent of coated paper were the most important factors for affecting the printing quality, and the roughness and optical properties of coated paper also had a certain impact.

The paper analyses the structural peculiarity and design methods of the adjustable heat pump, bring forward a new project which used adjustable heat pump system for paper machine dryers. The system can enhance the steam’s function, accelerate the speed and economize the energy.

Paper-based microfluidic devices have recently received increasing attention as a potential platform for its low cost, portability and excellent compatibility with biological samples. A variety of fabrication technologies were employed, including simple photolithography, wax plotting, printing, inkjet etching, plasma etching and so on. Meanwhile, the potential applications of paper-based microfluidic devices in diagnostic, point-of-care (POC), and environmental monitoring were reported. We review the recent progress of fabrication technologies and the applications of paper-based microfluidic devices.

Through the comparative study of several enrichment machines ,the performance of the high-speed washer is introduced. The high-speed washer has high dewatering and washing efficiency, he pulp can be concentrated from 0.8% ~ 1.5% consistency to 10% ~ 15%;And it has high ash removal rate and good pulp washing effect also. It can effectively remove the ink particles, fillers, and other small impurities, improve the pulp brightness. At the same time ,the waste paper deinking process treatment systems has been developed.

This paper describes simulation of combustion characteristics under high ambient and high injection of biodiesel combustion by using CFD simulation. Diesel engine performance and emissions is strongly couple with fuel atomization and spray processes, which in turn are strongly influenced by injector flow dynamics. The principal objective of this research is to seek the effect of temperature and pressure on the spray characteristics, as well as fuel-air mixing characteristics. Experiments were performed in a constant volume chamber at specified ambient gas temperature and pressure. This research was continued with injecting diesel fuel into the chamber using a Bosch common rail system. Direct photography technique with a digital camera was used to clarify the real images of spray pattern, liquid length and vapor penetration. The method of the simulation of real phenomenon of diesel combustion with optical access rapid compression machine is also reviewed and experimental results are presented. The liquid phase of the spray reaches a maximum penetration distance soon after the start of injection, while the vapor phase of the spray continues to penetrate downstream. The condition to which the fuel is affected was estimated by combining information on the block temperature, ambient temperature and photographs of the spray. The increases in ambient pressure inside the chamber resulting in gain of spray area and wider spray angle. Thus predominantly promotes for a better fuel-air mixing. All of the experiments will be conducted and run by using CFD. The simulation will show in the form of images.

Langmuir-Blodgett technique was applied to build optically homogeneous film of functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on paper substrate. The palladium (Pd) nanoparticles were drop-casted onto MWCNTs network films before being exposed in hydrogen (H2) gas molecules environment under vacuum and atmospheric pressure at room temperature. The results demonstrate that the functionalized MWCNTs dispersed with Pd nanoparticles show good H2sensing response on paper substrate where the sensitivity of around 10 % was recorded at only 2 minutes exposure time.

Magnetic stripe cards and magnetic recording paper are commonly used in credit cards, identity cards, and transportation tickets. Barium ferrite was used to prepare magnetic inks and the magnetic ink was coated onto the paper substrate to obtain the magnetic papers. The crystal structure of barium ferrite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the magnetic property of barium ferrite was tested by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) The performance of the magnetic recording paper and the surface morphology of the coating magnetic layer were also characterized. The results show that the magnetic ink based on barium ferrite with the formula of 41wt% of the barium ferrite powder, 14wt% of polyurethane, 36wt% of solvent and 9wt% of PVP has good printing characteristics and the magnetic recording papers have good performance.

By using printability tester for printing on ordinary white cardboard and light beam hologram paper, measuring spectral information and chrominance information of the two samples, and then perform spectral fitting by analyses their color characteristics, The aim of this research was to propose one method for color calculation of printing on light beam hologram papers, according to the color information of ordinary white cardboard.

The experiment studied effects of paper on the height and glossiness of UV ink-jet 3D printing. The results showed that there all existed penetrations between the 1st ink layer and three kinds of paper, the bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the larger the penetration was, and penetration between the 1st ink and paper was obviously larger than that between two ink layers. Penetration between two ink layers was stable, almost not affected by paper. The bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the smaller the glossiness of ink layer was. There appeared directional ink strips on ink layer on three kinds of paper, beginning from the 3rd ink layer, there also appeared ink pits on ink layer on paper whose roughness and bulk were the biggest, which showed printer precision was also an important factor for the glossiness, apart from paper. Thus, the tight and smooth paper should be selected in UV ink-jet 3D printing. Before printing, pretreatment should be done to exclude the influence of the 1st ink layer and the ink strips.

This paper has a brief introduction to a algorithm that can automatically identify the defective cutting region when automatic paper cutter does quality analysis. The algorithm analyzed the characteristics of processed shear mark image,detected defects,found a critical point of defective part ,then a unique regional recognition algorithm was developed based on the basis of the general processing algorithm. The algorithms can pinpoint the region that cutting defects exist according to the coordinates of critical point accurately, improve the efficiency of quality analysis, and also has stated that image processing is available in the regional recognition of automatic paper cutter.

In this study, four types of Waste Paper Sludge Ash (WPSA) were explored for use as Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) in binary system. The WPSA use varies in particle size range and surface area however similar in chemical composition. At first stage, Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) was replaced by WPSA at 5% mass to mass basis as blended cement. Four size of WPSA was prepared which are unsieve, retained at 63μm, retained at 45μm and pan. WPSA blended cement (WPSABC) was introduced from the four size of WPSA that prepared earlier. Water to cement ratio selected was 0.50 and it keep constant at all type of blended cement. When compared with the control mix, result shows that hydration kinetics is affected by the particle size of WPSA. Pan WPSA has slightly higher peak of hydration kinetics and compressive strength of blended cement. At second stage, Pan WPSA was selected to undergo the further investigation on its performance. Pan WPSABC were prepared at replacement level of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%, mass to mass basis. Same method and w/c ratio was used and compared with control mix. From the result, it is found that the peak for rate of heat evolution of Pan WPSABC occur earlier and slightly lower as compared to OPC. Pan WPSA also achieved it optimum strength at 5% replacement level which is more than control mix.

There are many researches about the effect of oil/paper proportion, testing temperature, AC/DC ratio and other effects on the breakdown characteristics of oil-paper insulation under the composite electric field. However, the breakdown characteristics of oil-paper insulation under the composite electric field in the process of ageing are rarely reported. In this paper, the breakdown characteristics of the oil impregnated insulation paper with different ageing condition under the composite electric field were investigated. Results show that there is no necessary link between the breakdown characteristics and the ageing degree of oil-paper insulation. The breakdown voltage value decreased with the rise of the AC component under the composite electric field. The breakdown voltage with aged paper changed by new paper is slightly higher than that of the aged oil being changed by new oil.

In digital printing process, the color reproduction quality is no longer determined by printing sequence, trapping, solid density and etc., since the technique is different from traditional printing technology. In order to analyze the effects of paper on color reproduction quality in digital ink-jet printing, three kinds of commercial paper were selected and a set of experiments were carried out by using color management technique to simulate the digital proofing. The density and chromaticity of both primary color and composite color in each printed were measured. The effects of paper’s characters on shadow, mid-tone and highlight were analyzed and discussed. Finally the influence on color reproduction quality principle, including chromaticity and absorbing characteristics of paper, was revealed. The conclusion has certain significance in directive function in ink-jet printing.

Whiteness of wrapping paper is the main affecting factor of printed matter color rendition, the higher the whiteness, the better the results of color rendition. But the result of pursuiting high whiteness is that human eyes are harmed by the photic stimulation of paper-based printed matter. To solve the mentioned above problem, this paper preliminary researches the correlation between paper whiteness and asthenopia, the correlation between printing quality and paper whiteness, for finding out appropriate whiteness that can meet the eyes comfort and have better printing quality. Results show the asthenopia occurs easier as whiteness of wrapping paper increases. Besides, the paper samples with the whiteness values as 89.4% and 96.2% have the better printing quality, and the samples with the whiteness values as 84.6% have the worse printing quality relatively, but the quality gap is not big. Results show the whiteness of samples is between 84.6% and 89.4%, human eyes dont feel asthenopia and the printing quality is better. The research results can provide the theoretical basis for printing and packaging enterprises to choose paper which are suitable for printing packing and have eye-protection function, and contribute to the human eye protection.

As a non-destructive insulation diagnostic technique, the polarization spectrum method based on return voltage measurement has been employed to assess the state of insulation of the transformer. But how does the moisture content affect the parameters of RVM is not clear. In this paper, the effect of moisture content on the parameters of return voltage is studied based on experiments. The result shows that maximum value of return voltage (Urmax) and initial slope (Si) increase with the increase of moisture content in second-order function, while the central time constant (tcdom) decreases with the increase of moisture content in second-order function. The central time constant varies strongly with the change of moisture constant, so it is considered as a reliable indicator to evaluate the moisture level in oil-paper insulation system of transformer.

Return voltage diagnostic method is an effective method of non-destructive diagnosis in transformer insulating state. The current study is that through experiments get polarization spectrum to analysis the transformer insulating state, but not yet carried out the influence of various factors to the experimental results. So, based on the Debye model and specific parameters comes from one equivalent model of the actual transformer, this paper using RVM methods to simulation analysis maximum return voltage and dominant time constant under different factors. Simulation results show that the diagnostic methods that combine maximum return voltage value with dominant time constant can preferably reflect the transformer insulation state.

Pattern of number of PD events ("NE" for short) variation detected by UHF online monitoring was found through experiments, demonstrating that in the first half life of oil-paper insulation the NE value declined at the beginning and then kept stable, while it increased sharply in the later half. Least square linear regression was applied to calculate the changing rate ("CR" for short) of the latest 168 measurements of NE, which turned out to be an appropriate indicator of life stage for its monotonicity over time from the initiation of PD till final breakdown. The Grubbs method was also applied to exclude erroneous data and to determine the credible variation of CRs.

To assess the oil-paper insulation of transformer, it is necessary to establish the equivalent circuit for it regardless of using the time domain methods or frequency domain methods. Based on the principle of dielectric polarization, the extended Debye model is always adopted for the equivalent circuit of oil-paper insulation in transformer in most cases; however, it is usually difficult to determine the number of relaxation mechanisms in the model. This paper presents a method to determine it by the time domain dielectric spectra, namely, conduct differential operation for the depolarizing current of transformer’s oil-paper insulation to obtain the time domain dielectric spectra, and the number of spectrum peaks is equal to that of relaxation mechanisms. Thereby, the extended Debye model of the equivalent circuit of the oil-paper insulation of transformer can be built. This paper describes the analytical procedures of the time domain dielectric spectra method in detail and presents examples to validate its feasibility and rationality in determining the equivalent circuit model of transformer’s oil-paper insulation.

Silica of hollow structure exhibits a number of special characteristic. In this paper, a new way to prepare hollow silica spheres which can be used as filler for paper was reported. In this approach, when silica shells were coated on polyvinylacetate (PVAc) template particles by the sol-gel method, the PVAc cores would be dissolved synchronously, forming hollow spheres. Neither additional dissolution nor a calcination process was needed to remove the PVAc cores. The morphology of the hollow silica spheres was also characterized by TEM. It was shown that the hollow silica spheres with 130-400nm in diameter and 15-35nm in the shell thickness could be synthesized. The possible formation mechanism was also brought forward. The possibility and potential advantages in usage as filler for paper were analyzed theoretically. We confer that this filler can improve the printability of the paper, and reduce its density compared with traditional fillers.

This study describes a new precise recycle module as a clean poduction pocess and an environmental protection consideration that uses micro electroetching (MECE) and a new design of an intercross tool to remove defective transparent conducting oxide (TCO) nanostructures from the optical PET diaphragm surfaces for e-paper surface. This process takes very little time to remove the TCO easily and cleanly and is highly efficient both technically and economically. A large diameter of the cathode of the intercross tool combined with a small gap between the cathode and the workpiece corresponds to a higher removal rate of TCO. This higher feed rate combined with enough voltage results in a shorter machining time. A high rotational speed of the intercross tool can also improve dregs discharge and allows a higher feed rate of the optical PET. A small end radius of the cathode or a thin cathode of the bulge-form tool takes less time for the same amount (20 nm) of TCO removal.

This study used a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution to activate a mixture of water treatment sludge, fly ash, and slag, in order to produce a new alkali-activated controlled low-strength material (CLSM). Fresh properties of this new CLSM were investigated through the tests of workability, setting time, and ball drop time. Test results show that the addition of water treatment sludge (WTS) decreased workability. In addition, the addition of such WTS increased initial setting time and ball drop time, whereas the alkali equivalent (AE) shortened the initial setting time and ball drop time. At a liquid-to-solid ratio (L/S) of 0.9, a WTS content of 10%, and an alkali equivalent of 9%, the fresh properties for the CLSM conforms to the design principles and provisions of the Public Works Department, Taipei City Government, and is ideal for road construction in order to reduce traffic impact.

In recent years, there have been a number of interests on the Palm Oil (PO) and Coconut Oil (CO) as a potential alternative dielectric insulating fluid in transformers which stimulate different types of studies on these oils properties. Among the important studies is the lightning impulse properties. This paper presents the investigation on the lightning impulse breakdown voltage of PO and CO under non-uniform electric field. The PO used in this study is Refined, Bleached and Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) Olein type. The influence of the testing methods, rising-voltage and up-and-down are investigated at 2 gap distances for both oils. It was found that the lightning breakdown voltage performance for some of the RBDPO and CO are comparable to MO.

The light inspection on surface finishing of most product measurement is an important feature in the industries. In this study, a lab module tester for examination on the different type quality of tissue paper quality was done. The light reflectance element was used in this study to differentiate the quality of tissue paper. The laser diode and photodiode was used as manipulator to differentiate the tissue paper and photo detector to detect the reflected light from the surface of tissue paper. The both of laser diode and photodiode were placed in a light box. Different level of intensity reflected from the surface material will have different voltage output. The result showed that the total ply high quality tissue paper has a higher reflected voltage output compared to low quality tissue paper.

Binder is the essential component of coating color recipe. The amount and type of latex binder has a significant effect on both the structure and chemical-physical properties of coated paper, which affect critical surface properties, e.g., print gloss, roughness, ink setting rate via liquid absorption, and print mottle The main aim of this study was to investigate the effect of coating solid on the binder distribution in the method of numerical analysis by Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope (LSCM). In this study, Rhodamine B was used to stain the binder and as the probe to characterize z-directional distribution of the binder using LSCM. The results implied that it was reliable and effective method using LSCM to characterize the z-directional distribution of binder and analyze the influence of coating solid on binder distribution in the z-direction. It could be concluded that the coating solid played an important effect on binder distribution in coated paper and low coating solid with more water accelerated binder migration to the interior of base paper, sample with 60% coating solid is good to binder distribution and coating layer forming.

To analyze the main causes of electric power equipments failure, this paper based on distance correlation definition, proposed a method about correlation identification between the multi-factor and equipments failure. Firstly, this paper sets the related factors influencing the equipments failure as numerical value, based on distance correlation definition, calculate the correlation between each factors and equipments failure, so as to determine the power of the main causes of equipments failure. At last, through 220 kV transformer fault case validates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The effects of aluminum foil packaging materials on color reproduction were mainly studied from the following two aspects in this topic: (1) through the study of CIEl976 chroma space, color difference evaluations of 7 kinds of colors for aluminum foil were compared with that of coated paper, based on the established color libraries of coated paper. (2) Four different spectrophotometers of X-Rite were used to measure L*、 a*、 b* of different colors, analyzing the effects of different spectrophotometer on color reproduction. Research has proved that: (1) the method which color was transferred to the aluminum foil, according to the established color libraries of coated paper, is feasible, and there was no difference between two colors on aluminum foils by visual inspection, the chromatic aberration was less than 1. (2) From the measurements, aspheric photometers like X-Rite939, Spectroeye, X-Rite500 cannot be used for color measurement on aluminum foil, the error is bigger than SP64, and accuracy is lower. (3) Through the total color difference analysis of four instruments on magenta, the ball SP64 portable spectrophotometer is the most suitable equipment for color reproduction on aluminum foil packaging materials.

The size and the number of folds severely affect the performance of the diesel fuel filter. Computational fluid dynamics method was applied to diesel filter internal flow simulation, and flow pressure lost was test to verify the simulation result. CFD result shown that, when the filter paper angle less than 3°, the internal flow resistance of fuel filter grown rapidly. The flow resistance decreased slowly when filter paper angle of greater than 6°. If filter paper angle was less than 3 °, effective filter area of filter decreased sharply, and filtration efficiency was lower than limit. The filter paper dust capacity increased rapidly, when filter paper angle was greater than 4.5 °, which prolonged filter life. In order to ensure the flow resistance, filtration efficiency and service life, the angle of the filter paper should be between 3 ° to 4.5 °.

This paper proposed a new method of describing street glare. Glare is a typical light environment, it is affected by streetlights and street surface conditions. It impact on street safety. This paper based on survey of Tianjin, Changsha, Zhengzhou street area, included optical lights types, height of light bulbs, distance between tow lights, street surface brightness, illumination and other factors examination and record. Survey date had been used to set 36 street lighting simulated models and compare with the calculation. The output for the analysis is a series of maps reflecting the relationship between street glare environment and its factors. The case study proved that street lighting environment is closely associated with streetlights bulbs brightness and its installation site. The results show that high level of light brightness will lead to high level of glare and higher light bulbs will increase glare.

In order to analyze inner electrical field distributions of EHV converter transformers windings end at valve side, a simulation circuit model of oil-paper combination insulations is established in this paper. Then ANSYS10.0 finite element method (FEM) is used to calculate the electrical field distributions under four different excited volatges, containing DC voltage, AC voltage, superimposed DC-AC voltage and polarity reversal (PR) voltage respectively. Simulation results show that when only under DC voltage, resistive electrical field distributions highly convergen on insulating cardboard whose resistivity is correspondingly big. While only under AC voltage, capactive electrical filed distributions highly centeralize on insulating oil whose dielectic capacity is correspondingly small. And under superimposed DC-AC voltage, its unformity lies in DC voltage or AC voltage function alone. While under transient polarity reversal volatge, its distrbutions present like tooth and electrical strength of insulating oil is bigger than that of insulating paper.

Graphene is a material that has been heavily investigated in many researches due to its beneficial characteristics such as large surface area, low manufacturing cost, high electro conductivity and incredible mechanical strength. Applying the graphene in water-based solvents however can cause agglomeration due to its hydrophobic properties. Researchers have composited the graphene with other materials in overcoming its hydrophobicity. In this research, graphene was nanocomposited with thionine to make it disperse well in water-based solvents while preserving its intrinsic properties. The nanocomposition process involves mixing of both graphene oxide with thionine and were reduced by hydrazine hydrate while reflux heating. The produced mixture was then filtered to obtain the Thionine-Graphene nanocomposite. The obtained sample was then characterized to confirm the composition of both graphene and thionine. Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy was operated to investigate the chemical bonds and hence concluding the presence of both graphene and thionine in the sample. The preservation of the intrinsic properties of graphene was also investigated through observing the absence of functionalized graphene bonds. Post-investigation reports that the chemical bonds from both of the materials, graphene and thionine were detected confirming the successfulness of the nanocomposition.

This research studied the electricity production from organic wastes fermentation by microbial fuel cell by using a single chamber microbial fuel cell (SCMFC). Two sizes (1 L and 10 L) of simple SCMFC were fabricated by using a cylindrical plastic tank which anode compartment and cathode compartment separated by plastic plate with hole and covered with cotton fabric. The anode electrode contacted with organic matter and microorganisms where anaerobic reaction occurred to generate electron and proton. The electrons transferred through an external circuit while the protons diffused through the solution to the cathode electrode for reducing oxygen to water. From the study of the effect of different electrode types (carbon graphite rod, zinc metal, and copper metal) to the electricity generation using the SCMFC size 1 L in fermentation with synthetic sweetness solution (22%Brix) and the effective microorganism (EM) for 36 hrs, it found that the fuel cell which used copper metal as electrode produced electricity increasing over the times and has more efficient than the other electrode types. The study of electricity generation from organic waste fermentation by using the SCMFC size 10 L and using copper metal as electrode, the results showed that the fermentation of pineapple waste produced the current density, potential density, and power density higher than the fermentation of bananas and the fermentation of food garbage with EM. An optimal period of time for the production of electricity from this microbial fuel cell is the first five days of fermentation that the cells has voltage »500 mV, the current density 25.52 mA m-2, potential density 104.69 V m-2 and power density 12.59 mW m-2, and then decline over time five days (120 hrs). Moreover the bio-liquid fertilizer and the residues from the fermentation can be further used in agricultural because of the nutrient content (N, P, K), organic carbon and organic material contents available.

In Thailand Manufacturing, checking employee attendance is one of the important issues for human resource, because many manufacturing evaluate employees’ attendance and while giving the final bonus, HRs considers their total number of appearances on manufacture during the whole work time. This brings to the idea of having some tool to control employees’ attendance. Some manufacturing prefer to use paper sheet for controlling attendance, whereas some manufacturing prefer to use paper sheet for checking employees' attendance and after this, fill out these information into a system manually, like Thailand Manufacturing in Siracha Province does. However, this is not an efficient way since there will be spent much of time for checking employees names and putting marks like "presence" or "absence". Moreover, some employees may call his/her friend as "presence" even though this employee is currently absent. After thinking all these issues, researcher of the following research paper decided to create a system that makes easier to check employees’ attendance automatically, and this system is implemented in Thailand Manufacturing near SiRacha province. Actually, this is the first time when such kind of system is being used in manufacturing system of Thailand. The system is based on 1D barcode technology and run on mobile application with Android OS, and in this paper, details of this system are presented.

The various affecting factors have been researched in this paper that the leaded wastewater was treated by means of the processing combined Fe-C micro-electrolysis with microbial adsorbent-flocculant. After that combined process, a greater percentage of lead removal was observed. The results showed that under the condition that initial PH of the infall wastewater is 3, the Fe/C mass ratio is 2:1, and the hydraulic retention time is 40 min for the micro electrolysis processing. The PH is 9, the microbial adsorbent-flocculant (ZX-1) dosage is 0.5g/L, and adsorption time is 90 min for subsequent microbial adsorption-flocculation. Under these optimal conditions, the removal rates of lead ion reached 99.958%,and their concentrations in wastewater were 0.042mg/L, which their ion concentrations in the outlet wastewater are under the class III of Surface Water Quality Standards(GB3838-2002) in China. That combined process achieved zero discharge of lead. It has been also showed that Pb ions are mainly removed by Fe/C micro-electrolysis, and the following microbial adsorption-flocculation excels at treating leaded wastewater of low concentration.

Renewable energy is rapidly gaining importance as an energy resource to help aid the national energy depletion crisis of fossil fuel and coal. One of the most potential renewable energy sources in Malaysia is hydropower followed by solar energy. This paper presents the fabrication of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) using organic dyes from dragon fruit and chlorophyll which is extracted from spinach. The fabrication of DSSC uses the Dr.blade method. Result shows that the efficiency by using dragon fruit as sensitizer at 40µm TiO2 Thickness is 6.45%, better than the usage of chlorophyll dye which is 4.23% at the same thickness. Result also shows that at 80µm by using the dyes from chlorophyll extract has higher solar cell efficiency compare to dragon fruit. This shows that both the chlorophyll extract and dragon fruit shows potential in the development of a feasible working organic dye.

In order to clarify the operation and performance of ground source heat pump in severe cold regions, the paper based on the demonstration project about ground source heat pump at Yifu teaching building of Jilin Jianzhu University, expounds the profile of the demonstration project and the data monitoring program of the system about ground source heat pump, shows monitoring data of the running condition in winter in line with the demonstration project and analyses the monitoring data briefly. The result shows that the heating effect of ground source heat pump system is favorable and ground source heat pump system is obviously environmental and energy saving.

This paper based on multi-agent technology, according to automobile safety airbag roll bag station production technology, at first adopt TS fuzzy neural regression network to distributed modeling for the controlled object, the methods of combining supervision learning and reinforcement learning are used, according to multi-agent external reinforcement signals and the value function of evaluate network ,using adaptive genetic co-evolution algorithm to optimize the action network, so can adapt to the mutational environment, and engineering application supply the proof about the effectiveness of the control strategy.

This follows from the development of architecture.

Graphene-based composites now has been payed more and more attention to because it can make up many shortcomings of the pure single-layer graphene.In many papers ,there are one same phenomenon said that graphene can not be well dispersed in matrix since it’s high specific surface area and high surface energy.In this work,we reported the preparation of ZnO/graphene nanocomposites through the way of situ-reaction in the surface of graphite oxide.Then,the nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform-Infared spectroscopy (FTIR),transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and thermogravimetry (TG). The results indicated that the graphene oxide had been reduced by hydrazine hydrate and the ZnO crystal attached to the surface of graphene well.The ZnO/graphene nanocomposites can be expected to be dispersed in some kinds of rubber to improve their electric and thermal conductivities in the following experiments.

In order to improve the spine tape folding precision of GMS-7 type spine taping machine and reduce the labor intensity, this paper researched the principle of the spine tape folding process.Through analysis and calculation, the relation curve between folding angle and the advancing distance of paper tape is obtained, therefore, achieved is the free form feature of plow shaped guideways that provides the method to brush the paper tape on the spine of promissory note with glue smoothly.

Recycling of waste paper is demanded because of the shortage of forest resources, the pollution of environment and the scarcity of papermaking materials. It is important to raise the proportion of waste paper in the fiber materials in papermaking industry. Floating/washing method was used here with imported Old Newspaper (ONP) as elementary material. This article studied the deinking performances of many kinds of surfactants primarily. Among them several surfactants were picked out as deinking agent of Old Newspaper (ONP) because of their better deinking effect.

Invasive aquatic species has been considered one of the greatest threats to the worlds oceans and marine ecological system. A novel of ships ballast water treatment based on ion exchange membrane electrolysis system to deal with algae has been proved. In this paper, an optimized treatment for inactivating algae is proposed based on the developed ballast water treatment system. In this optimized method, different experimental conditions are studied, which contain the injection times and small injection dose of anodic electrolytic products. The contrast experiments were conducted, the results show that the lethal time and available chlorine dose can respectively save up to 66.67% and 50% under the optimized method. The results show that the proposed have the more efficient kill ability for the algae life.

The preparation of poly crystalline graphene from the liquid phase has been discussed.The mechanism of graphene growth from the liquid phaseon the Cu-Ni alloy and the type of atmosphere, used inthe graphene fabrication-acetylene, ethylene, hydrogen has been presented. Stages of nucleation and poly crystalline growth of graphene were identified. The paper presents theresults of a single-and multi-layered graphene growth phase.It is assumed the final result will mean the optimization of the industrial-scale production of low-cost poly crystalline graphene.

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is a kind of geophysical instruments, which has been widely applied in geology, engineering, resource, environment, military etc. The method mentioned in this paper based on QR decomposition, by solving equations to find the estimated value of the radar wave velocity. This method delivers the features of real-time, accurate, and the accuracy required is not high. It is suitable for real time estimation of GPR detection. By estimating the wave velocity, we can identify the spatial location of underground target. This method provides a convenient way for the detection of underground target.

Graphene sheets offer extraordinary thermal, electronic and mechanical properties which could enhance the performance of the device for various applications. However, a large quantity production and the direct dispersion of graphene or graphite sheets in water without the assistance of dispersing agent has been considered to be a challenging issue. In this study, we reported that by introducing the functional group on the graphene basal plane started from natural graphite can readily form stable graphene oxide (GO) solution in a large quantity through modified hummers method. Structural and physiochemical properties of the GO were investigated with help of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The effects of the annealing treatment on a GO surface were analyzed using a Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer (SPA) in order to obtain the electrical resistance measurement. Based on the thermal reduction results, the resistance of drop casting is greater than spray coating which indicates that, the drop casting method is more reliable to be used in any application.

Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) is one of the solid waste in Malaysia and had trouble with the ash removal. Therefore, the use of waste oil palm ash can overcome the problem of solid waste. POFA is a pozzolanic material and it can act as a replacement of cement (OPC) to produce concrete with higher strength and low cost. POFA quality will increase as the range made up to a medium level of fineness in the size of 50 microns. POFA used to replace OPC is 0%, 10%, 30% and 50% by weight percent of OPC. POFA concrete compressive strength will be tested after a curing process that concrete age of 7 days and 28 days. POFA concrete density is also tested and compared with OPC concrete. Results showed that compressive strength POFA lower than normal concrete. On the other hand, the replacement of cement by 10% POFA shows a record high in compressive strength compared with other POFA mixing at the age of 7 days and 28 days. Fineness pozzolanic POFA is the best material and can be used as a cement replacement alternative.

In this work biodiesel of various proportions has been blended with E20 (20% ethanol and 80% diesel). Bio-diesel concentrations are varied at 10%, 20% and 30% while ethanol concentration was maintained at 20%. Performance, emission and variation of ignition lag of the fuel blends were analyzed. There was a very good reduction in CO emissions by 28% in comparison with E20 and 80% in comparison with diesel. NOx emissions of the blends were decreased by 16% compared with diesel and no variation with E20. Brake Thermal Efficiency (bte) of the blends was higher by 11% up to 75% load and 4% at full load compared with diesel and lesser by 2% in comparison with E20. Ignition-delay of the blends was longer than diesel, and the cetane number of the blends were lower than diesel. Brake Specific Energy Consumption (bsec) is slightly higher than diesel.

Numerous research works are carried out to find out the additional information on effective use of vegetable oil in CI engine as a potential alternative fuel. The present work was intended to observe the outcome of preheating the transesterified oil earlier to fuel injection system thus making its properties similar to diesel. In this research mustard oil methyl ester was preheated to 90°c (MME90) and used in compression ignition engine and compared with mustard oil methyl ester (MME) fuelled at ambient temperature and diesel. The impacts of fuel preheating on engine emission with mustard oil were analyzed. Experiments were conducted with MME90 (Mustard oil methyl ester preheated to 90° C) and MME (Mustard oil methyl ester) and compared with diesel. Result confirmed increase in NOx emission for both MME90 and MME comparing diesel. Emissions such as CO, HC and Smoke were found in declining fashion for MME90 comparing MME and petroleum diesel. Preheating the mustard oil methyl ester during the fuel injection can be an exceptional way for using it in CI engines.

The process of combustion in coal fired power plant generates ashes, namely fly ash (FA) and bottom ash (BA). In addition, coal ash generated from coal combustion generally contains heavy metals within their compositions. These metals are toxic to the environment as well as to the human health. Fortunately, treatment methods are available for these ashes and the use of FA and BA in concrete mix is one of the few. As such, this study presents the work in determining the leachability of self-compacting concrete (SCC) incorporated with FA and BA. The ashes were obtained from Kapar Energy Ventures power plant in Kapar, Selangor. SCC mixtures incorporated with 10%, 20% and 30% FA (replacing cement) and BA (replacing sand) respectively was formulated and casted. The samples were then crushed to be extracted using Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) and heavy metals content within the samples were identified accordingly using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). From the results, it was found that incorporation up to 30% of the ashes were safe as the leached heavy metals concentration did not exceed the regulatory levels, except for arsenic (As). On the other hand, incorporation of 20% FA and BA each in SCC provided the most economically viable product, with high strength and low leachate concentrations. In conclusion, this study will serve as a reference which suggests that FA and BA are widely applicable in concrete technology and its incorporation in SCC constitutes a potential means of adding value with appropriate mix and design.

Slurry Seal is an impermeable non-structural thin layer that is used for pavement maintenance consisting of a cold laid mixture of asphalt emulsion with continuous graded fine aggregate, mineral filler, water and other added ingredients. Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) as the main filler in the application of slurry seal. Due to the relatively high cement prices and the pollution control for the environment; it is required to maintain the quality of the slurry by using a combination of OPC and LCFA (Low Calcium Fly Ash). This research was conducted to determine the value of consistency, setting time and indirect tensile strength (ITS) of slurry seal containing LCFA. A consistency testing used to obtain optimum moisture content to produce the sample for the rest of the test. The results show that with the addition of 5% water for pre-wetting and subsequently 10% of water content, the mixture provide appropriate consistency as required by highways standard. The time settings also meet the requirements of highways standard between 15 to 720 minutes for all types of mixtures. The mixture with composition of 50% OPC and 50% LCFA is considered as an ideal mixture at the optimum density value of 1.769 g/cm3, porosity of 9.55% and the indirect tensile strength of 30.99 kPa. It could be concluded that fly ash can be used as OPC partial replacement and enhance the properties on slurry seal application.
