2‐(chalcogen)benzothiazoles are frequently used as core structures for the development of pharmaceutical agents. A strategy for the synthesis of 2‐(chalcogen)benzothiazoles under electrooxidative conditions using isocyanides, thiols or diselenides as substrates was developed. This protocol allows access to structurally diverse 2‐(chalcogen)benzothiazoles in good yields and with good functional group tolerance, which does not require heavy metal catalysts and exogenous oxidants. This study presents an approach for the electrochemical oxidation ring‐opening/cyclization reaction of methylcyclopropane with diselenides/ditellurides, leading to the synthesis of diverse 2‐substituted‐3,4‐dihydronaphthalene derivatives with exceptional selectivity and efficiency. This methodology involves C(sp3)−H functionalization, ring opening and cyclization processes. Carbon dioxide is a harmful greenhouse gas, as well as a valuable resource. Here, a three‐component cyclization reaction was developed for the synthesis of oxazolidine‐2,4‐diones by immobilizing CO2 under the electrochemistry and copper catalyst. Propargyl amide was used as the reaction substrate to capture carbon dioxide to produce carboxyl anion, while selenide produced electrophilic receptor to activate the triple bond under electrochemical conditions. Then, intramolecular cyclization reaction was carried out to obtain the target product. Through this environmentally friendly strategy, a series of important oxazolidine‐2,4‐diones was synthesized. In the present study, 2D Co(II) coordination polymers (CP‐1), which integrate terminal CoBrn (CoBr2 and CoBr3) sites immobilized on the framework, are synthesized at the gram level. As a special heterogeneous catalyst, CP‐1 shows regioselectivity (β:α>99:1) and stereoselectivity (only E configuration) in the hydroboration of alkynes. The hydroboration reaction conditions are mild and cover a broad substrate range (31 examples). In addition, the heterogeneous catalyst can be recycled for at least five times. The construction of C(sp3)‐sulfonyl bonds through direct sulfonylation of C(sp3)−H bond presents a number of challenges, so an electrochemical oxidation‐induced direct sulfonylation of the xanthene C(sp3)−H bond was developed. Significant advantages of this method are high atom efficiency, functional group tolerance, transition metal‐ and oxidant‐free conditions. The in vitro cytotoxicity of all product is evaluated by MTT assay against human cancer cell lines. The tandem cyclization of acrylamide with diselenides facilitated by electrochemical oxidation was successfully developed. This strategy provided an environmentally friendly method for the construction of C−Se bond. A series of seleno oxindoles with pharmacological activity were obtained by using this well‐designed tandem cyclization strategy. The in vitro antitumor activity of the compounds was also screened through MTT assay. Results showed that the seleno oxindoles exhibited better antitumor activity than other oxindole derivatives. A metal‐ and oxidant‐free electrochemical method for preparing selenomethyl‐substituted cyclic ethers or lactones via difunctionalization of olefines is presented. A series of selenomethyl‐substituted cyclic ethers, particularly 9‐ and 11‐ membered, selenomethyl‐substituted lactones (4‐6 membered), and selenomethyl‐substituted phthalides can be obtained via this reaction. A electrochemical method for the synthesis of 3,5‐disubstituted‐1,2,4‐thiadiazoles through NH4I‐mediated dimerization of thioamides is reported. Using the inexpensive NH4I as electrolyte and catalyst, this electrosynthesis approach requires no oxidizing agents and enables the convenient production of diverse 1,2,4‐thiadiazoles products. An unexpected domino reaction of β-keto sulfones with acetylene ketones has been developed. The domino reaction of β-keto sulfones with diynones proceeded smoothly in the presence of 30 mol% K2CO3 without other additives, and afforded the novel 3(2 H)-furanone derivatives. On replacing the diynones with terminal alkyne ketones, the reaction regioselectivity was changed and sulfonylbenzenes were obtained via benzannulation in good yields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A transition metal-free and efficient method for the synthesis of 3-alkynylpyrrole-2-carboxylates from diynones and glycine esters or 2-aminoacetophenone hydrochloride has been developed. This transformation provides a large range of substituted pyrroles in good to excellent yields with the elimination of water as the only by-product.
