In 2011, the Institute of Medicine published a report on the future of nursing, which recommended nurse practitioner postgraduate training in the form of fellowships or residencies. Since then, the number of postgraduate programs has grown, but data is still scarce regarding their efficacy and benefits. The goal of this integrative review is to synthesize available literature regarding the outcomes of nurse practitioner postgraduate fellowships and/or residencies on clinical competence and perceived readiness to practice. CINAHL, PubMed, and citation searching were used to search relevant subject headings, MeSH headings, and keywords related to fellowships and residencies for nurse practitioners, resulting in 11 articles being included based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Synthesis was completed using the Garrard Matrix method to identify common themes among the studies. Eight quasi-experimental and three cross-sectional studies were included in this review. Programs included multiple areas of focus, including primary care, critical care, and pediatric acute care. Common themes among the studies were an increased level of preparedness, reduced turnover, and greater job satisfaction. The major theme found among the studies was an increased confidence and preparedness to practice. Minor themes include increased job satisfaction and decreased intent to quit. • New NPs risk increased stress and anxiety upon entering the workforce. • Stress and anxiety result from lack of confidence and perceived preparedness. • Postgraduate training programs can help mitigate stressors felt by new graduates. • Programs may impact retention, satisfaction, confidence, and perceived competence. • Faculty and universities may benefit from partnering with postgraduate programs. The Envelope-Aware Flight Management System is an augmentation to a conventional flight management system that prevents or recovers from loss of control. Loss of control is defined in this work as an excursion outside the admissible flight envelope. The Envelope-Aware Flight Management System combines flight safety assessment and management, envelope estimation, flight planning, system identification, and adaptive control functions. This paper describes integration of envelope estimation, flight planning, and flight safety assessment and management to identify situations of high loss-of-control risk, override the nominal crew/flight-management-system just in time to prevent loss of control, and safely recover the aircraft. The Envelope-Aware Flight Management System is applied to prevent inflight loss of control for a Twin Otter experiencing a rudder jam, a failure that can be identified and modeled a priori. Recovery translates to identifying and maintaining states within the contracted flight envelope, as well as building and following an emergency landing plan that respects the new envelope. The paper describes a framework for constrained flight control based on the use of recoverable sets that are chained together to guide constrained admissible transitions between trim points. The recoverable set is the set of all states for which there exists a control sequence such that the subsequent response is guaranteed to satisfy the imposed constraints. The constraints can reflect actuator range/rate limits, safety limits, as well as ranges of validity of the aircraft model, because in aircraft loss-of-control situations, fast onboard computations are necessary, the approach to computing recoverable sets in this paper exploits linear discrete-time models (which can be generated via onboard system identification and reflect effects of failures and degradations) and recovery sequences generated, either by a stable linear finite-dimensional subsystem or through a reset of the dynamic controller states or of its set points. With this approach, only subsets of the full recoverable set can be computed, however, these recoverable subsets possess certain desirable control invariance properties, and their computations are simple; moreover, the onboard generation of the recovery sequence reduces to a low-dimensional quadratic programming problem. The article focuses on the understanding of justice, reconciliation, and Indigenous education. Topics discussed include the Indigenous people's demand for political sovereignty, the Indian Education For All (IEFA) legislation of Montana, and the meaning of justice that includes the aims of reconciliation and inclusion. Information regarding the three principles of reconciliation is also provided.

In her introduction to this special volume of Canadian Issues, Ratna Ghosh highlighted a theme that is picked up and developed-in interestingly diverse ways-by many of the contributing authors. "Multicultural education is not a static concept," she writes. "It is changing in interesting ways." As the essays in this volume attest, the interesting ways in which the concepts of multiculturalism and multicultural education may be mined for new insights and reconstructed and reinterpreted to shed new light on old insights is far from being exhausted. My primary purpose in this concluding essay is to reflect on some of the lessons that might be gleaned from the various contributions to this volume as we look to the challenges facing diverse societies beyond the 40th anniversary of Canada's Multicultural Policy. In particular, drawing mainly on the essays that comprise this volume, I aim to trace some of the ways in which we might fruitfully view multicultural education as that which liberates. In this article, the author presents his commentaries on the essay "Character Education and Citizenship Education: A Case of Cancerous Relationship," by Dwight Boyd. The author gives emphasis on unreasonableness as one of the features of illiberal conceptions of civic education. He believes that unreasonableness is a viewpoint that plays an important part in John Rawl's perspective of liberalism. According to him, the unreasonable conceptions of civic education pose danger to the opportunities of children to participate as liberal citizens.
