The advent of Generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI) has significantly reshaped the educational landscape, heralding new prospects and concurrently introducing complex challenges. Mirroring the essence of René Magritte's iconic artwork "Ceci n'est pas une pipe", where the depiction of a pipe is not actually a pipe, this publication is not a publication, at least not from the beginning. This article acts as a case study, showcasing the ability to generate coherent and pertinent AI-created content, while also drawing attention to its limitations in depth and diversity. Moreover, it underscores the facility with which such content can be produced. The paper culminates by examining the role of AI-generated content within the academic sphere, particularly highlighting the complexities involved in distinguishing AI-produced material from human-authored text. The electroencephalogram (EEG) is one of the most useful technologies for brain research and clinical neurology, characterized by non-invasiveness and high time resolution. The acquired traces are visibly displayed, but various studies investigate the translation of brain waves in sound (i.e., a process called sonification). Several articles have been published since 1934 about the sonification of EEG traces, in the attempt to identify the "brain-sound." However, for a long time this sonification technique was not used for clinical purposes. The analog EEG was in fact already equipped with an auditory output, although rarely mentioned in scientific papers: the pen-on-paper noise made by the writer unit. EEG technologists often relied on the sound that pens made on paper to facilitate the diagnosis. This article provides a sample of analog video-EEG recordings with audio support representing the strengths of a combined visual-and-auditory detection of different types of seizures. The purpose of the present article is to illustrate how the analog EEG "sounded," as well as to highlight the advantages of this pen-writing noise. It was considered so useful that early digital EEG devices could be equipped with special software to duplicate it digitally. Even in the present days, the sonification can be considered as an attempt to modify the EEG practice using auditory neurofeedback with applications in therapeutic interventions, cognitive improvement, and basic research. The contribution is devoted to the development of international student mobility in the framework of the Erasmus+ and Non-European Mobility programmes, while the focus is also on the interest and experience of students from the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Czech University of Live Sciences Prague. At work, the development of the number of students arriving and leaving in 2008-2019 and the interest in destination countries and universities are assessed using statistical methods. Based on time series models, the expected development of indicators in the coming years was predicted. The work is also based on the results of a questionnaire survey carried out on the population of students of the Faculty of Economics and Management and focused on the perception and evaluation of the programme. The survey showed that students take foreign mobility as a unique asset that will make it easier for them to find adequate employment in the future in terms of their education. Background: To achieve the highest possible level of health for individuals and societies involved in the crisis, a high level of individual and professional competency is needed in nurses for their active participation in the crisis. The acquisition of professional qualifications by nurses to provide care in the crisis is very important. The present study aimed to determine the effect of disaster and accident response training on the enhancement of professional competence of nurses in response to the crisis. Materials and Methods: This research was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test, post-test design. The statistical population consisted of all nurses working in Shahid Chamran Hospital in Saveh City, Iran, in 2017. In total, 80 nurses were selected through the convenience sampling method and were randomly divided into the intervention and control groups. The intervention group received training through lectures and workshops for 16 hours in 4 days. The samples completed a professional nursing competency assessment questionnaire before and one month after the intervention. The obtained data were analyzed by the Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact-test, Independent samples t-test, and Paired samples t-test in SPSS. Results: The findings revealed no significant difference between the two groups concerning demographic variables. After the intervention, the average improvement of professional competence of nurses in their ability to manage the accident scene increased from 63.3 to 74.07, teamwork skill from 56.7 to 74, individual specific abilities from 61.4 to 70, ethical performance from 67.8 to 76.9, and professional skills from 54 to 60. The Mean±SD pretest score of professional competency of nurses in the intervention and control groups were 163.5±28.6 and 155.73±34, respectively. After the intervention, these scores increased to 185.13±28.8 and 158.48±33.3 in the intervention and the control groups, respectively. The difference was statistically significant in the intervention group (P<0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicated that the competence of nurses to provide care in crises was not at a desirable level. Thus, assessing the competence of nurses and identifying the gaps in their knowledge and skills before attending crises is essential. Also, the incident and disaster education can dramatically increase nurses' professional competence in responding to the crisis. The aim of this study was to determine pre-service elementary school teachers' capabilities of deciding the viewpoint and perspective in geometrical drawing. The study examined geometrical drawings the participants did on isometric paper. This is a case study, a qualitative study method, and the study data were analyzed using written documents. The study sample included 34 senior students in the Education Faculty's Elementary School Teaching Program at a Turkish public university. They were selected from approximately 205 pre-service teachers. The students participated in the study on a voluntary basis. The study results revealed that the pre-service teachers generally had weak skills in geometrical drawing. The participants had better skills in building structures which they saw from the air using unit blocks, and forming a structure of which they had the direct views (left and right; front and back) using unit blocks. However, the participants had weaker skills in drawing the direct views of the structures they had built, recognizing the connections between the left-right views and front-back views of the structures and drawing the structures they built on isometric paper in perspective. This study examined the extent, motives and impact of mobile phone photo note-taking on students' learning at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) in Tanzania. It employed the mixed methods approach. A sample of 310 respondents was drawn using a multi stage sampling technique which involved stratified random sampling at the first stage and convenient sampling at the second stage. Questionnaires and interviews were used to obtain data for the study. The findings revealed that mobile photo note-taking was a common practice at DUCE. The time consuming nature of handwritten notes, Speedy lecturing, easy access to notes, peer and technological influence were claimed to be the motives behind students' fondness to the practice. It was also revealed that the distraction of concentration, impairment of handwriting skills and speed, poor attendance to the lecture sessions, and distortion of students' ability to compose and organize their own work were the impact of the practice. The study recommends that the University should create better teaching and learning environment to allow university students to use variables and multiple note-taking methods for best results underlying each method. Big Data research has rapidly developed in the last 10 years, making it an interesting topic to investigate to understand the trends and developments of Big Data in Education. This study aims to analyze source documents and state contributions, and visualize research trends on the subject of Big Data in education during the last 10 years and identify potential research topics related to Big Data in Education in the future. This study uses a literature review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method associated with bibliometric analysis using the Scopus and VOSviewer databases, through which 1,076 documents were obtained. The results of the bibliometric analysis show that Big Data research in education has increased significantly in the last 10 years. However, in the last year, it has decreased, this is the next challenge, and an opportunity for future research. The most common types of documents are conference papers, the source of most documents is conference proceedings, and the country that contributes the most is China. English is the most widely spoken language, and the authors with the highest contribution are Daniel, B. K. Further research related to Big Data can be used and implemented in the business world for Big Data analysis in education. Big Data can also be integrated with Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) which can be a further research opportunity that can be applied to education because analyzing Big Data requires STEM learning skills. Thus, this research recommends finding updates in the study of Big Data in education by integrating STEM in education because analyzing Big Data again requires STEM learning expertise. This study has limitations in using only one database, namely Scopus, to obtain research data. Dyslexia is a type of Specific Learning Disability (SLD) that affects the educational development of a student, as it is the reason of difficulties not only in writing or reading but also in other disciplines like Mathematics. Research has proven that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can have a positive effect to the educational development of a dyslexic student. In this paper, twenty 6 th -grade primary-school students were observed while using computers during exams - ten with Dyslexia and ten with no SLDs. All students were called to solve a digital test and a paper test that were including some basic mathematic operations. The researcher recorded and examined the differences between the results from the two tests. Descriptive and deductive statistical analysis showed that students had better results when examined via a computer compared to a traditional written examination. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article we argue that in South Africa the current format of legitimised participation and practice in the examination papers for Mathematical Literacy restricts successful apprenticeship in the discipline of scientific mathematics and limits empowered preparation for real-world functioning. The currency of the subject, then, is brought into question. We further argue that the positioning of the subject as a compulsory alternative to Mathematics and the differential distribution of these two subjects to differing groups of learners facilitates the (re)production and sustainment of educational disadvantage. We draw on Dowling's theoretical constructs of differing domains of mathematical practice and positions and focus analysis on a collection of nationally set exemplar Grade 12 examination papers to identify legitimised forms of participation in the subject. Institutional graduate capabilities and discipline threshold learning outcomes require science students to demonstrate ethical conduct and social responsibility. However, neither the teaching nor the assessment of these concepts is straightforward. Australian chemistry academics participated in a workshop in 2013 to discuss and develop teaching and assessment in these areas and this paper reports on the outcomes of that workshop. Controversial issues discussed included: How broad is the mandate of the teacher, how should the boundaries between personal values and ethics be drawn, and how can ethics be assessed without moral judgement? In this position paper, I argue for a deep engagement with ethics and social justice, achieved through case studies and assessed against criteria that require discussion and debate. This paper documents a yearlong pilot study, conducted by teacher education faculty, to evaluate methods for creating, sustaining, and assessing teaching portfolios. Selected issues with paper-based and software-based programs are compared. Key design, instructional, anti procedural problems that arose during this study are discussed as well. The findings of this study support the need for a flexible electronic portfolio system in which students play a key role in the design, development, and content of their portfolios as well as the need for a clearly articulated academic purpose and requirements for the teaching portfolio with implications for students in all disciplines. The field of medical education research is growing rapidly, but educational research has been widely criticized for its lack of a scientific approach, poor theoretical frameworks or study designs, deficient research methods and reporting quality, and lack of meaningful outcomes that would inform practice. There have been recent calls for greater accountability and return on investment for all research efforts and clinical practice. The impact of medical education on important health outcomes such as patient care is unclear but likely underestimated. A better understanding of the role and the structure of medical education research is called for, and in this review, the author outlines a framework for reading, reviewing, and (hopefully) pursuing and carrying out medical education research. Medical education research methodologies are discussed, along with guidelines for reading articles. A structured guideline is suggested and provided for interested readers and reviewers of educational research. Although there are challenges to be faced, they provide endless possibilities to expand and improve on medical education research and to bring it to its full fruition, alongside traditional clinical research. Entrustable professional activities (EPAs) have seen widespread adoption in medical education and other health professions education. EPAs aim to provide a bridge between competency-based education and clinical practice by translating competencies into fundamental profession-specific tasks associated with clinical practice. Despite the extensive use of EPAs in health professions education, EPAs have yet to be introduced into chiropractic education. The purpose of this paper is to describe the development and introduction of EPAs as part of 2 community-based chiropractic student preceptorship education programs in the United States. EPAs were developed and introduced at 2 community-based chiropractic preceptorship sites in 5 distinct steps: (1) differentiating EPAs from competencies, learning objectives, and knowledge, skills, and attitudes; (2) identifying EPAs; (3) mapping EPAs to competencies and necessary experience, knowledge, and skills; (4) designing EPA assessment strategies; and (5) implementing the use of EPAs. A total of 13 individual EPAs were developed and mapped to Council on Chiropractic Education meta-competency outcomes and underlying experience, knowledge, and skills. Three assessment tools were created to evaluate student entrustability for EPAs and enhance student self-assessment. The EPAs and assessment tools were integrated into chiropractic student preceptorships at each site. This paper describes the development and introduction of EPAs at 2 community-based chiropractic preceptorship sites. The article, along with teacher-tested advice for ways to implement portfolio assessment, describes the types of portfolios teachers can use in their classroom. Teachers and students are provided with a documented chronology of the learning that is taking place by a portfolio assessment. Students, by periodically reviewing their portfolios, become enlightened about their progress and empowered when they can see for themselves the progression of their learning. With the guidance of their teacher, this knowledge enables students to set and work toward future learning goals.

Education is very important for all individuals, including people with disabilities such as the deaf, to advance the nation and survive. In this case, effective communication of educational material is important to create a conducive learning environment. Most people also believe that deaf people can make a big contribution to society if they receive the right education, and this becomes a challenge for deaf teachers and students. Therefore, this paper aims to find a solution that can become a means of independent education for deaf people. This paper is using design thinking method to achieve the goal. The result of this research is the development of an educational mobile application specifically for the deaf, namely 'V-Voice'. This application provides various learning features, such as; animated videos, education games and texts that are attractively designed. Air is very beneficial and crucial for every living creature on earth, hence it is very important to protect the air quality in order to avoid diseases. However, due to the increase in population, some human activities have been causing detrimental damage to the air quality. Some people have realized the potential impact of this problem and have done studies on predicting future air pollution. Some implemented machine learning models such as random forest regression, support vector machine, etc, while others have utilized deep learning models in their research.. This study will implement five different models, specifically linear regression, ridge regression, random forest regression, and multilayer perceptron regression. There will be two datasets used in this paper which will be merged and processed. There will be three key evaluation metrics being used in this paper namely root mean squared error, mean absolute error, and r-squared. The article focuses on the research flaws in the study "The Harmful Effects of Algorithms in Grades 1-4," by Constance Kamii and Ann Dominick. The research explained the benefits of "no algorithms" experience in mastering arithmetic, where the authors theorized that the approach improved the ability of children to master mental math techniques and disadvantages of standard addition algorithm. The flaws proved that standard algorithms are essential in solving arithmetic problems in simple ways.

The Barefoot College (India) is an NGO working in the fields of education, skills development, health, drinking water, and solar power mainly to train older, rural women who are determined to challenge restrictive gender roles in their respective communities. Since its inception, the NGO has trained over 2,000 rural women as solar engineers across 93 countries worldwide and has brought electricity to over 18,000 homes. Barefoot trainers employ nonnormative methods of sharing knowledge such as color coding, sign language, and practical experience. This paper conducts a critical assessment of the Barefoot College Solar Electrification Programme to explore how it empowers illiterate and semi-literate women from remote rural areas around the world to become solar engineers (or "Solar Mamas"). It utilizes qualitative research methods to analyze this women's empowerment project as a landmark practical application of decolonial feminist theory. The paper contends that the Barefoot approach both challenges and conforms to the Women in Development and Gender and Development approaches of the past. The research is grounded methodologically in feminist praxis and also borrows from the conceptual frameworks of Feminist Political Ecology and Women and the Politics of Place. Stories and personal experiences from Solar Mamas have been highlighted to understand the real world impact of the program. The main findings indicate that the Barefoot College's innovative approach to empower marginalized communities and educate older women is achieved through decentralizing control and demystifying technology. Prompt engineering is identified as the key to unlocking the full potential of generative AI technologies by optimizing human-AI communication. Through a comprehensive analysis of the related literature, this study illustrates how prompt engineering transcends mere technical manipulation, requiring a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of generative AI capabilities. This paper provides various strategies for crafting effective prompts, from simple to sophisticated techniques, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations and the potential risks associated with prompt manipulation. By establishing a set of principles and guidelines, this paper aims to advance prompt engineering as a discipline essential for enhancing AI's functionality and reliability and, with this justification, introduces the 'Prompt Engineering for Gen[i]erative AI Framework'. After all, this paper calls for a multidisciplinary approach to prompt engineering, advocating for its recognition and development as a pivotal component of AI literacy and application. Through this exploration, this paper intends to contribute to the evolving dialogue on the integration of human creativity with generative AI capabilities, offering insights into the future of effective and ethical AI interaction. This article I argue for the prioritisation of human rights when developing and implementing misconduct policies. Existing approaches may be perpetuate inequities, particularly for individuals from marginalised groups. A human-rights-by-design approach, which centres human rights in policy development, revision, and implementation, ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity and respect. Recommendations for implementing a human-rights approach to misconduct investigations and case management are offered, covering areas such as procedural fairness, privacy, equity, and the right to education. Additional topics covered are the need to limit surveillance technologies, and the need to recognize that not all use of artificial intelligence tools automatically constitutes misconduct. I disentangle the differences between equity and equality and explain how both are important when considering ethics and integrity. A central argument of this paper is that a human-rights-by-design approach to integrity does not diminish standards but rather strengthens educational systems by cultivating ethical awareness and respect for personhood. I conclude with a call to action with a seven-point plan for institutions to adopt a human-rights-based approach to ethics and integrity. In the age of artificial intelligence and neurotechnology, insisting on human rights and dignity when we investigate and address misconduct allegations is an ethical imperative that has never been more important. The term "People of Determination" (PODs), coined by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government, refers to women and men with disabilities and is articulated and inspired by the country's history, culture, and traditions. This study aims to examine the constitutional and policyoriented framework of PODs in terms of rights, services, and their integration process in UAE society. In so doing, it explores the UAE's perspective on PODs in terms of conceptualization, services, framework of empowerment, institutions, rehabilitation efforts, employment, and societal integration. Although the UAE is a federal state composed of seven emirates with federal institutions, each emirate has established a set of governmental and nongovernmental institutions that provide an integrated system of care, rehabilitation, skills-building, employment, and inclusionary and societal integration for PODs. The country is a pioneer in this area such that prominent international institutions have recognized its accomplishments and organized major world events such as the 2019 Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi. The first section of this study examines issues surrounding conceptualization and some relevant theoretical contributions to PODs. The second investigates the constitutional and legal framework of the UAE's POD paradigm. The third explains the UAE's narrative about PODs as well as the policy-oriented instruments, institutions, and mechanisms that have translated such narrative, values, and laws into practical policies and institutions. Finally, the paper discusses accomplishments, outcomes, and recommendations. The article as a whole demonstrates how future researchers and policymakers can contribute to a deeper engagement with issues of gender and disability to achieve intersectional gender and disability justices. This paper aims to analyze gender representation in English for Nursing 1: Vocational English Course Book (Ros et al., 2012) used to teach English for Specific Purposes courses to nursing students at the University of Buraimi in Oman. Quantitative and qualitative content analyses were used to investigate the following categories: images, occupational roles, names, pronouns, and gender firstness. Study findings show that women, in general, are more visible than men in the following categories: images, gender firstness, terms of address, and names. Pronouns are the only category in which men outnumbered women. Although traditional gender norms in the workplace are still evident in the textbook in some categories, this study shows that the gender gap between men and women is closing. The current study's findings provide a light of hope for gender balance in school textbooks. Gender equality should be a top focus for textbook authors and designers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the phenomenon of child and youth labour in the post-Stalin era in the Soviet Union. The starting point for the consideration constitutes the analysis of the law adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1958 titled "On the strengthening of the link between school and life and the further development of people's education in the USSR". This law placed great emphasis on combining education with practice and involving pupils from the earliest grades in various forms of both productive and socially useful labour. Subsequently, four categories of labour to which children and young people in the USSR were systemically forced has been distinguished. These included: occasional labours, work and leisure camps, so-called subbotniki and little communal works, as well as compulsory recycling. Purpose: The requirements for information in the public sector are continuously changing and there is a need for accountants who are capable to respond to these challenges. Universities, i.e. higher education institutions (HEIs), are recognized as institutions that provide fundamental knowledge, and a discussion of education in the field of public sector accounting is required. The purpose of this paper is to present the opinions of public sector accountants and expectations of students regarding education in the field of public sector accounting at HEIs in Croatia. Methodology: A survey was conducted among accountants employed in public sector entities and among students of faculties of economics at public universities in Croatia. The results of the aforementioned survey are analysed in the SPSS software package using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Results showed that students as well as public accountants agree that formal education is not enough for the position of public accountant. Furthermore, students are not interested in the position of public accountant. Therefore, public universities should rethink modifying the structure and programs of courses related to public sector accounting. Conclusion: The results are an invitation to public policy creators to work on the attractiveness of the position of public sector accountant by offering better conditions. Furthermore, we address the critical issue of fostering artificial intelligence literacy among students, schools, and universities, pinpointing data privacy and ethical considerations as key areas of concern. The strategies implemented by educational institutions to mitigate these challenges and promote a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence are also discussed. In conclusion, the paper underscores artificial intelligence's transformative potential in reshaping education, offering guidance for other nations and academic entities aiming to successfully integrate artificial intelligence-based technologies. The paper aims to examine the persistence of gender stereotypes in STEM education and identify opportunities to enhance the inclusivity and attractiveness of Vocational Education. The analytical part of the paper consists of quantitative and qualitative research. Through ordinal logistic regression, the determinants influencing female and male students' attitudes towards gender stereotypes and future careers in STEM fields are analysed. The qualitative part draws on focus group outputs to understand the challenges of this topic in greater depth. University students are more resistant to stereotypes than high school students. At the same time, men tend to believe in gender stereotypes more than women and nonbinary people. An important aspect is positive female role models, which eliminate this adverse persistent phenomenon and increase the inclusiveness of the learning environment for female students. University students are more likely to envision a future in STEM than high school students, and there were no statistically significant differences in the plans of male and female students. Poverty reduction has long been one of the political priorities of the European Union and its member states. Despite the political declarations and measures applied, poverty is still a phenomenon that affects the everyday lives of about 70 million Europeans. Moreover, trends in poverty incidence show how poverty risks are sensitive to overall socio-economic development and how they are more actual for some vulnerable population groups. Following the popular concept of poverty feminization, the analysis presented in the paper aims to identify gender perspective relationship between the poverty incidence and characteristics describing the situation on the labour market or the levels of attained education in EU-27 countries. Attention is paid to poverty incidence among women and men of working age (population aged from 25 to 54 years) and differences are examined in the relationship to the position of both genders on the labour market. Presented findings, based mainly on the results obtained from the panel regression analysis performed for the period 2007-2020, suggest that policymakers should integrate a gender perspective into all policies focused on poverty reduction. The use of Online Games (OGs) in education has sparked significant interest in recent years. Despite the proliferation of various applications and approaches, the precise role of OGs in higher education remains uncertain. Therefore, this study aims to provide an overview of the integration of Online Games (OGs) in higher education. This study considered the broad perspective of OGs' use, not limiting the application to teaching strategies, to fully understand the variety of implementations. Using bibliometric analysis and coding, we processed journal articles and conference papers from the Scopus database, resulting in a sample of 109 documents. Four dimensions were found, with studies currently focused on: types of content and learning goals (89.9%), students' behavior towards the use of OGs in higher education (57.79%), OG software and applications (53.21%), and teachers' behavior toward the use of OGs in higher education (5.5%). Within these dimensions, we identified a total of 16 distinct elements as subtopics for further discussion and research opportunities. Notably, there is a lack of context-specific studies, both in terms of geographical region and disciplinary focus, indicating a pressing need for empirical investigations tailored to diverse educational contexts. Moreover, we will explore the implications of implementing a program named We Learn English, an initiative by the education department of Zilla Parishad Parbhani. This programme is a course developed by teachers and students to improve Englishspeaking skills among the students in primary schools in rural settings. The purpose of this article is to explore and highlight the crucial role these platforms play in optimizing the assessment process in higher education institutions. The goal is to develop a university platform that facilitates both the student evaluation process and effective communication between students and teachers. In the rapidly evolving landscape of education, the pivotal axis around which transformation revolves is human-AI interaction. In this sense, this paper adopts a data mining and analytic approach to understand what the related literature tells us regarding the trends and patterns of generative AI research in educational praxis. Accordingly, this systematic exploration spotlights the following research themes: Interaction and communication with generative AI-powered chatbots; impact of the LLMs and generative AI on teaching and learning, conversational educational agents and their opportunities, challenges, and implications; leveraging Generative AI for enhancing social and cognitive learning processes; promoting AI literacy for unleashing future opportunities; harnessing Generative AI to expand academic capabilities, and lastly, augmenting educational experiences through human-AI interaction. Beyond the identified research themes and patterns, this paper argues that emotional intelligence, AI literacy, and prompt engineering are the trending research topics that require further exploration. Recent advancements in generative artificial intelligence (GAI) have sparked debates and research on its transformative potential in education. This study explored how a specific group of educators partner with GAI tools, particularly ChatGPT, to complement and enhance their teaching. Within an interpretative paradigm, the study used an exploratory case study design to investigate how 13 educators enrolled as students in a structured master's programme at an open distance learning university in South Africa use GAI tools in their teaching. Their posts on a discussion forum were used to collect data. Findings reveal that they actively employ GAI to streamline their teaching practices, specifically to personalized tutors, simplifying English texts and translations, assessments, lesson planning, and critical thinking tasks. The study also highlights the need to understand the limitations and boundaries of GAI, including concerns about accuracy, biases and reliability. Importantly, the absence of institutional guidelines on GAI raises questions about the necessity for clear guidelines and policies to ensure responsible and ethical integration in educational contexts. The paper concludes by emphasizing the transformative potential of GAI and the fact that it will increasingly act as a partner in teaching and influence modern teaching practices. This paper combines the emerging Internet with actual student classrooms to design a PHP-framework-based web-based instruction platform, aiming to improve students' learning efficiency after class. This system uses the PHP language and integrates MVC-based ThinkPHP, Bootstrap, jQuery's $, ajax asynchronous request, art-template rendering, and other technologies. The interface of the system is simple and easy to operate, with various layout styles and display effects. Students can increase their interest in learning and improve their learning efficiency by watching the teaching videos on the website. The system summarizes a large amount of teaching resources and information to promote the structure and mode of reform in education and teaching. The Circular Economy Action Plan is the main building block of the European Green Deal, Europe's new agenda for sustainable growth. Businesses need new technologies, new methods and new industrial organization either to create new businesses or to transform their products, processes and business models. They also need new talents to innovate, create businesses and new jobs, and transform society into a more sustainable one. Circular economy has grown significantly in recent years as a topic taught in engineering curricula. The purpose of this paper is to present the design, implementation and evaluation of a summer school program dedicated to the development, transformation and implementation of circular economy systems and new business models in manufacturing. The program was designed in collaboration with three university partners during a European project and relied on contributions from industrial companies, including start-ups and innovative companies. At the end, some lessons are drawn in order to show the main added value based on the evaluation of this summer school and to identify recommendations for the design and implementation of similar summer schools. Virtual reality's (VR) applications in education have been a topic of interest to the academia in recent years. Although literature expands significantly worldwide, the focus on education still presents a high number of opportunities to explore. In Latin America, the literature regarding the use of virtual reality is limited and not yet systematized. Therefore, the present study aims to provide an overview of Latin America's research publications regarding the use of VR in higher education. Using bibliometric measures and coding in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases' outputs, we analyzed 126 papers, the majority of them from social sciences, followed by engineering, business, and medicine. Content tree analysis resulted in 5 dimensions: 'Functional aspects of using VR as a learning tool', 'Teaching strategies and methodologies using VR', 'Behavioral aspects of using VR as a learning tool', 'Outputs of VR use as an educational tool' and 'Competencies and readiness to use VR as a learning tool'. Most publications (74,6%) focus or present as one of the discussions the functional aspects of VR, such as access, viability, usefulness, virtual environment, the association with artificial intelligence, among others. Standardized testing is a human rights issue that continues to plague the educational systems in developed nations. Within countries like the United States and the United Kingdom, vexatious accountability measures, such as those provided by standardized testing, have polarized the educational arena, leaving in its wake a litany of human rights concerns. This culmination of over-testing and outcome-only driven education equates to an end game where employment and dollar signs erode the very fabric of human rights for children. In this paper, we hope to inspire understanding of the issues of contention happening in developed nations today regarding standardized testing issues, and we will make recommendations that may help these nations move from the statistical to the enlightened view of growing responsible and civicminded citizens into the twenty-first century.
