The aim for 95% maternal health care coverage and zero-unmet need for family planning in Pacific Island countries by 2030 could be achieved by strengthening the midwifery workforce. To enable health services to provide accessible, locally acceptable, and high-quality care, the midwifery workforce must be regulated and educated to global standards and supported to practice in enabling environments. In 2019, around 64,000 live births occurred in Pacific Island countries, yet information regarding the state the midwifery workforce and midwifery education is limited. Using data from recent reports and country case studies, this paper provides an overview of the current midwifery education situation in Pacific Island countries and discusses strategic directions for strengthening quality midwifery education and therefore quality midwifery care provision in Pacific Island countries. Six Pacific Island countries have midwifery curricula, all post-nursing programs, although few offer midwifery education programs on a regular annual basis. Current programs do not meet ICM Global Standards for Midwifery Education. Critical areas for strengthening include making underpinning philosophical frameworks, the vision for midwifery education, and program intended learning outcomes explicit in curricula documents and ensuring integration of these in program implementation. Fortunately, five of six midwifery education programs are under processes of renewal and strengthening against global, regional, and national standards. Strengthening the midwifery workforce in the Pacific to meet maternal and newborn health targets can be achieved through supporting the existing midwifery education programs to meet global standards. The electroencephalogram (EEG) is one of the most useful technologies for brain research and clinical neurology, characterized by non-invasiveness and high time resolution. The acquired traces are visibly displayed, but various studies investigate the translation of brain waves in sound (i.e., a process called sonification). Several articles have been published since 1934 about the sonification of EEG traces, in the attempt to identify the "brain-sound." However, for a long time this sonification technique was not used for clinical purposes. The analog EEG was in fact already equipped with an auditory output, although rarely mentioned in scientific papers: the pen-on-paper noise made by the writer unit. EEG technologists often relied on the sound that pens made on paper to facilitate the diagnosis. This article provides a sample of analog video-EEG recordings with audio support representing the strengths of a combined visual-and-auditory detection of different types of seizures. The purpose of the present article is to illustrate how the analog EEG "sounded," as well as to highlight the advantages of this pen-writing noise. It was considered so useful that early digital EEG devices could be equipped with special software to duplicate it digitally. Even in the present days, the sonification can be considered as an attempt to modify the EEG practice using auditory neurofeedback with applications in therapeutic interventions, cognitive improvement, and basic research. Current nursing professional development programs include online education related to caring for COVID-19-positive patients. However, these resources failed to attract significant uptake of knowledge acquisition mainly because of poorly structured web pages. This discussion paper presents a unique perspective to designing professional development programs for frontline nurses working during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond through the use of interactive digital content (IDC). As humanity reaches the 5.0 industrial revolution, education plays a critical role in boosting the quality of human resources. This paper reports bibliometric research on emerging TiP during 1993-2022 in the educational field to analyse its development on any level of education during the last three decades. This study employed a Scopus database. The findings are that the trend of TiP publication in educational fields has tended to increase every year during the past three decades and conference paper became the most published document type, the USA is the country which produces the most publications; 'Students' being the most occurrences keyword and total link strength. The publication of the TiP is ranked to the Quartile 1, which implies that a publication with the cited performance is a publication with credibility because the publisher has a good reputation. The aim of this study is to present the possibilities of nurse education in the use of the Chat Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) tool to support the documentation process. The success of the nursing process is based on the accuracy of nursing diagnoses, which also determine nursing interventions and nursing outcomes. Educating nurses in the use of artificial intelligence in the nursing process can significantly reduce the time nurses spend on documentation. Discussion paper. We used a case study from Train4Health in the field of preventive care to demonstrate the potential of using Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) to educate nurses in documenting the nursing process using generative artificial intelligence. Based on the case study, we entered a description of the patient's condition into Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) and asked questions about nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions and nursing outcomes. We further synthesized these results. In the process of educating nurses about the nursing process and nursing diagnosis, Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) can present potential patient problems to nurses and guide them through the process from taking a medical history, setting nursing diagnoses and planning goals and interventions. Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) returned appropriate nursing diagnoses, but these were not in line with the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association – International (NANDA-I) classification as requested. Of all the nursing diagnoses provided, only one was consistent with the most recent version of the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association – International (NANDA-I). Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) is still not specific enough for nursing diagnoses, resulting in incorrect answers in several cases. Using Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) to educate nurses and support the documentation process is time-efficient, but it still requires a certain level of human critical-thinking and fact-checking. The contribution is devoted to the development of international student mobility in the framework of the Erasmus+ and Non-European Mobility programmes, while the focus is also on the interest and experience of students from the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Czech University of Live Sciences Prague. At work, the development of the number of students arriving and leaving in 2008-2019 and the interest in destination countries and universities are assessed using statistical methods. Based on time series models, the expected development of indicators in the coming years was predicted. The work is also based on the results of a questionnaire survey carried out on the population of students of the Faculty of Economics and Management and focused on the perception and evaluation of the programme. The survey showed that students take foreign mobility as a unique asset that will make it easier for them to find adequate employment in the future in terms of their education. Big Data research has rapidly developed in the last 10 years, making it an interesting topic to investigate to understand the trends and developments of Big Data in Education. This study aims to analyze source documents and state contributions, and visualize research trends on the subject of Big Data in education during the last 10 years and identify potential research topics related to Big Data in Education in the future. This study uses a literature review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method associated with bibliometric analysis using the Scopus and VOSviewer databases, through which 1,076 documents were obtained. The results of the bibliometric analysis show that Big Data research in education has increased significantly in the last 10 years. However, in the last year, it has decreased, this is the next challenge, and an opportunity for future research. The most common types of documents are conference papers, the source of most documents is conference proceedings, and the country that contributes the most is China. English is the most widely spoken language, and the authors with the highest contribution are Daniel, B. K. Further research related to Big Data can be used and implemented in the business world for Big Data analysis in education. Big Data can also be integrated with Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) which can be a further research opportunity that can be applied to education because analyzing Big Data requires STEM learning skills. Thus, this research recommends finding updates in the study of Big Data in education by integrating STEM in education because analyzing Big Data again requires STEM learning expertise. This study has limitations in using only one database, namely Scopus, to obtain research data. Empathy development is an integral aspect of nurse education in several countries. Empathy supports person-centred care provision by aiding effective communication and promoting feelings of wellbeing by helping people feel understood. The development of empathy in nursing students is best facilitated through experiential learning and reflective practice, although to date, there are no reflective models specifically designed for this purpose. It is the aim of this paper to present a model designed to promote reflection on the development of empathy. The authors have developed an approach to empathic reflection based on the philosophy of Edith Stein. In this paper we outline the Empathic Reflection model which emphasises the need for educator support and an appreciative approach. We then present a narrative example of the model in action in an acute care setting. We have developed a three-stage model to support experiential learning about the development of empathy for nursing students. This discussion paper explores an interesting area for future nursing research about empathy development through experiential learning and reflective practice. Educators can contribute to the promotion of empathy by working in partnership with students to explore previously held beliefs which might act as barriers to empathic care provision. • In Italy, recent regulation has updated the post-mortem body disposition. • Body donation is admitted for study, training and scientific research purposes. • Unsolved issues concern the grantees of teaching and training activities. • The Italian College of Anatomists has made constructive criticisms to the law. • Suggestions are provided to manage the donation process and use of the body. In Italy, recent legislation (Law No. 10/2020) has tuned regulations concerning the donation of one's postmortem body and tissues for study, training, and scientific research purposes. This study discusses several specific issues to optimise the applicability and effectiveness of such an important, novel regulatory setting. Critical issues arise concerning the learners, the type of training and teaching activities that can be planned, the position of academic anatomy institutes, the role of family members in the donation process, the time frame of the donation process, the eligibility of partial donation, or the simultaneous donation of organs and tissues to patients awaiting transplantation. In particular, a universal time limit for donations (i.e., one year) makes it impossible to plan the long-term use of specific body parts, which could be effectively preserved for the advanced teaching and training of medical students and surgeons. The abovementioned conditions lead to the limited use of corpses, thus resulting in the inefficiency of the whole system of body donation. Overall, the donors' scope for the donation of their body could be best honoured by a more flexible and tuneable approach that can be used on a case-by-case basis. Furthermore, it is deemed necessary to closely monitor the events scheduled for corpses in public nonacademic institutions or private enterprises. This paper presents useful insights from Italian anatomists with the hope of providing inspiration for drafting the regulations. In conclusion, this paper focuses on the critical issues derived from the recently introduced Italian law on the donation and use of the body after death and provides suggestions to lawmakers for future implementations. The European Union employs soft power instruments to defend European values and norms and promote national interests. The European Union (EU), based on its diverse but at the same time united cultural, historical and educational soft power resources, attracts an international audience. Relations between the countries of Central Asia (CA) and the European Union have gone through several stages. Since 2007 the EU has implemented a strategy in Central Asia, and in June 2019, the EU adopted a new strategy, highlighting several priority points. Based on an interdisciplinary approach of system and comparative study, this paper analyses the status and perspectives of the EU's soft and smart approaches in Central Asia, and the dynamics and shortcomings of EU-CA relations, The European Union's soft and smart power policy, resources, and anticipated results are defined in its Strategy. The EU achieved some positive results in developing its soft and start power approach to Central Asia, but there are also some limitations. There are general challenges for EU-CA relations, including external factors. Deepening political, economic, cultural, educational and humanitarian the EU-CA partnership will contribute the sustainable development of Central Asia and strengthen stability in Eurasia. This paper discusses the current medical sonographer status in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The paper explores the current education, skills, job description, and challenges towards developing sonography professions and a sonographer framework. The study employed a quantitative descriptive research approach using a cross-sectional study design to collect and analyse data from sonographers in the UAE. Data was collected through a structured survey that included sections addressing demographic information, education, skills, current practices, and challenges. The data showed a relatively even distribution across different age groups, with a higher proportion falling in the 31–40 age range. Females constitute a slightly higher percentage (55.9 %) than males (44.1 %). The study found that sonographers have the necessary skills and knowledge to interpret the scan results and provide a formal report. A significant percentage of participants taught ultrasound to others and participated in research activities. The survey responses indicate difficulty in reporting sonograms. The study found that sonographers possess the necessary expertise and skills to pass on their knowledge to trainees and colleagues. The participants expressing a desire to increase their knowledge and skills indicate that sonographers recognised that continuous professional development is crucial for staying updated with advancements in the field. The participant's "Advanced Practitioners" title recommendation suggests a desire for professional recognition, career progression, and specialisations in sonography. Effective interdisciplinary collaboration is important for providing quality patient care. The paper emphasises the importance of recognising sonography as a vital healthcare profession. It aims to raise awareness about the crucial role of sonographers in patient care. Utilising the method of the case study and the method of document analysis, we explore not only the practical outcomes, challenges, and strategies related to the adoption of artificial intelligence in the Estonian education system but also its economic implications. The research highlights artificial intelligence's potential to lead to cost efficiencies and economic benefits for the education sector. Furthermore, we address the critical issue of fostering artificial intelligence literacy among students, schools, and universities, pinpointing data privacy and ethical considerations as key areas of concern. The strategies implemented by educational institutions to mitigate these challenges and promote a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence are also discussed. In conclusion, the paper underscores artificial intelligence's transformative potential in reshaping education, offering guidance for other nations and academic entities aiming to successfully integrate artificial intelligence-based technologies. The paper aims to examine the persistence of gender stereotypes in STEM education and identify opportunities to enhance the inclusivity and attractiveness of Vocational Education. The analytical part of the paper consists of quantitative and qualitative research. Through ordinal logistic regression, the determinants influencing female and male students' attitudes towards gender stereotypes and future careers in STEM fields are analysed. The qualitative part draws on focus group outputs to understand the challenges of this topic in greater depth. University students are more resistant to stereotypes than high school students. At the same time, men tend to believe in gender stereotypes more than women and nonbinary people. An important aspect is positive female role models, which eliminate this adverse persistent phenomenon and increase the inclusiveness of the learning environment for female students. University students are more likely to envision a future in STEM than high school students, and there were no statistically significant differences in the plans of male and female students. Corruption is a global menace with some countries of the world notoriously deep in it. Nigeria, a developing country has been battling, however, unsuccessfully with the scourge of corruption despite measures put in place to curb it. This paper chronicles the antecedents of corruption in Nigeria. It reviews the anti-corruption strategies with a view to proffering a robust, aggressive, and productive engagement against the recalcitrant nature of corruption in the country. The theoretical framework of the study is anchored on Social Disorganization Theory (SDT) and Social Learning Theory (SLT). Among the varying recommendations made by this paper, is the need to rejig, reinvigorate, and re-awake consciously, conscientiously, and systematically, the traditional anti-corruption institutions such as the National Assembly, the Judiciary, the Police, offices of the Accountant General, Auditor General, among others, to the understanding of their paramount role and vanguard position in championing very effectively, the anti-corruption war. Introduction/Purpose: Economics is a dynamic subject whose students use the contents to address real-life problems. Therefore, this paper examines the transformation of economics to tackle teachers' challenges in the teaching of economics. Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper used a qualitative research technique to collect information from teachers based on a phenomenological research design. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 12 teachers of economics in 6 selected schools in Buffalo City. A semi-structured interview was used to elicit information from the respondents and the data were analysed using a thematic approach. Findings: The study identifies certain notable issues including imprecise economics curriculum materials and learners' inability to demonstrate interest due to various statistics and data components of the subject. Teachers' participation in professional development activities such as seminars, in-service training and workshops for knowledge updates is one of the solutions offered to overcome these difficulties. Limitation: This paper uses only 12 economics teachers from Buffalo City metropolitan municipality. Larger samples can be used in another municipality. A quantitative approach can be used to accommodate representative samples. Practical Implications: Teachers are expected to be at the forefront of disseminating the contents of the subject appropriately because a teacher can only give what he or she has. Teachers should be proactive and current with the recent developments in the nation and be technologically compliant. Purpose: The requirements for information in the public sector are continuously changing and there is a need for accountants who are capable to respond to these challenges. Universities, i.e. higher education institutions (HEIs), are recognized as institutions that provide fundamental knowledge, and a discussion of education in the field of public sector accounting is required. The purpose of this paper is to present the opinions of public sector accountants and expectations of students regarding education in the field of public sector accounting at HEIs in Croatia. Methodology: A survey was conducted among accountants employed in public sector entities and among students of faculties of economics at public universities in Croatia. The results of the aforementioned survey are analysed in the SPSS software package using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Results showed that students as well as public accountants agree that formal education is not enough for the position of public accountant. Furthermore, students are not interested in the position of public accountant. Therefore, public universities should rethink modifying the structure and programs of courses related to public sector accounting. Conclusion: The results are an invitation to public policy creators to work on the attractiveness of the position of public sector accountant by offering better conditions. The authors of the paper therefore highlight the necessity for better cooperation between accountants and the academic community in order to improve education in the field of public sector accounting and meet the needs for professional and trained accountants who are the future of the profession. This paper examines the phenomenon of child and youth labour in the post-Stalin era in the Soviet Union. The starting point for the consideration constitutes the analysis of the law adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1958 titled "On the strengthening of the link between school and life and the further development of people's education in the USSR". This law placed great emphasis on combining education with practice and involving pupils from the earliest grades in various forms of both productive and socially useful labour. Subsequently, four categories of labour to which children and young people in the USSR were systemically forced has been distinguished. These included: occasional labours, work and leisure camps, so-called subbotniki and little communal works, as well as compulsory recycling. This paper focuses on the connection between a field of education and national curricula in secondary education and individual religious commitment. This article builds on the idea that formal education is not only meant to transmit knowledge but also to create competencies that involve a combination of knowledge, skills, and social values. Moreover, institutional factors related to an educational system may shape religious commitment by providing opportunities and constrains promoted by a national curriculum. While the competencies approach sheds light on the connection between individual education and religiosity, the contextual approach helps in understanding the relationship between a national curriculum in secondary education and individual religiosity. This paper employs multilevel regression models and tests the research hypotheses using data from the European Social Survey (ESS), rounds 2, 3, and 4, and Eurydice 2013/2014. The results show that the field of education and the percentage of mathematics and sciences studied in secondary education should be taken into consideration when analyzing the connection between education and individual religious commitment. • Nurses are often the first responders during times of disasters who play a vital role in preserving life and sustaining all aspects of the health of the disaster-affected community. • This paper underscores the role of nursing curricula and evidence-based teaching learning strategies that can promote the next generation of nurses' preparedness for disaster nursing. In the rapidly evolving landscape of education, the pivotal axis around which transformation revolves is human-AI interaction. In this sense, this paper adopts a data mining and analytic approach to understand what the related literature tells us regarding the trends and patterns of generative AI research in educational praxis. Accordingly, this systematic exploration spotlights the following research themes: Interaction and communication with generative AI-powered chatbots; impact of the LLMs and generative AI on teaching and learning, conversational educational agents and their opportunities, challenges, and implications; leveraging Generative AI for enhancing social and cognitive learning processes; promoting AI literacy for unleashing future opportunities; harnessing Generative AI to expand academic capabilities, and lastly, augmenting educational experiences through human-AI interaction. Beyond the identified research themes and patterns, this paper argues that emotional intelligence, AI literacy, and prompt engineering are the trending research topics that require further exploration. Accordingly, it's in this praxis that emotional intelligence emerges as a pivotal attribute, as AI technologies often struggle to comprehend and respond to the nuanced emotional cues. Generative AI literacy then takes center stage, becoming an indispensable asset in an era permeated with AI technologies, equipping students with the tools to critically engage with AI systems, thereby ensuring they become active, discerning users of these powerful tools. In this paper I argue that assessment data can be helpful to teachers for practising effective pedagogy, but it can also inhibit effective teaching when it is used to control their practice. Effective pedagogy is defined as giving each learner the resources they need to progress successfully and confidently through school. The paper first introduces the Reading to Learn professional learning program that started as a project with Indigenous students in primary and secondary schools. Both the project and the R2L program were helped and hindered by assessment regimes of education bureaucracies. Assessments developed in the program show inequalities within classrooms at all school stages, which is explained by an analysis of the literacy development curriculum through primary and secondary school. A model of pedagogy and knowledge about language is then proposed for teacher professional learning, that includes assessments that teachers control to track their students' growth. • Emerging nurses must be literate in Planetary Health if they are to practice in the escalating impacts of climate change. • Adequate support (internal and external), an understanding of rationale, concept, and process, and personal belief and confidence are key factors that can influence the success of curriculum change and delivery. • Academics must utilize levers to integrate Planetary Health into the curricular as a matter of priority. Due to the escalating severity of the impact of climate change on human and ecological health and its implications for nursing practice, it is imperative that planetary health is embedded into the undergraduate nursing curriculum. This rapid review was undertaken to identify the barriers and enablers to implementing planetary health into the undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing curriculum. Databases (PubMed, Education Source, CINAHL, and Scopus) were searched for relevant studies between 2013 and 2023. Seven papers were eligible for review. The studies demonstrated that adequate knowledge, skill development, social support, a supportive organization, and access to adequate resources were required to embed changes into the curriculum. This study has identified enablers that can be leveraged to successfully integrate planetary health into the undergraduate nursing curriculum, preparing nurses who are working in a practice environment impacted by climate change. This paper combines the emerging Internet with actual student classrooms to design a PHP-framework-based web-based instruction platform, aiming to improve students' learning efficiency after class. This system uses the PHP language and integrates MVC-based ThinkPHP, Bootstrap, jQuery's $, ajax asynchronous request, art-template rendering, and other technologies. The interface of the system is simple and easy to operate, with various layout styles and display effects. While the concept of online classes is not new to the rest of the world, this became a common mode of learning in Myanmar only when the COVID-19 challenges became a reality in 2020 as physical classrooms could no longer be used. When the coup d'etat was staged in 2021, education was further halted since many schools and their students did not have the resources to teach and learn online in addition to the political instability. However, online learning has been trending on social media for those who do have access to these resources. This paper will investigate the ways in which young people engage in education facing the "coup--vid" (coup + COVID-19), the motivation behind such engagement, and insights how they are benefiting from digital tools for learning. Purpose: The present study investigated experiences of traumatic perinatal events, the provision of related education, and educational needs of nurses working in the labor and delivery room (LDR). Methods: Nurses working in the LDRs of six institutions and two nurse portal sites were invited to participate in the survey, delivered on paper or online. The data were collected from October 1 to November 25, 2022. Data from 129 nurses were analyzed using frequency, the chi-square test, the Fisher exact test, the t-test, and analysis of variance. Results: Virtually all participants (98.6%) reported having experienced at least one traumatic perinatal event (dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal congenital anomalies, severe maternal or neonatal injury, stillbirth, and maternal or neonatal death) while working in the LDR. The most shocking traumatic perinatal event experienced was the maternal or neonatal death (40.3%), but 24.8% of participants did not recall ever receiving education on the topic. About 63% of participants experienced traumatic perinatal events within a year of working in the LDR. The average score for education needs regarding traumatic perinatal events was 3.67±0.37 out of 4, and participants preferred simulation education as the most effective educational method. Conclusion: Since most of the participants had experienced various traumatic perinatal events in the early stages of working in the LDR and expressed a high level of need for education on traumatic perinatal events, it is necessary to provide more effective stimulation education programs in the early period of work in the LDR. Teaching and learning programming, and especially Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), is a complicated and challenging task. Students have to comprehend various OOP concepts and utilize them for designing object-oriented programs. Various types of educational programming environments, such as microworlds and educational games, have been devised for supporting novices mainly in comprehending OOP concepts. However, such environments do not usually support students in the conceptual design of object-oriented programs of a considerable length and complexity. In this paper, we focus on a systematic mapping study (SMS) of educational programming environments for enhancing the conceptual design in OOP, which relies on modularity, abstraction and encapsulation. The research questions investigate the intended learning outcomes, the empirical evidence on the effectiveness, and the teaching/learning technologies used by educational programming environments for enhancing the conceptual design in OOP. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) is frequently used to assess occupational burnout and the Epidemic-Pandemic Impacts Inventory (EPII) is a new tool for assessing pandemic impacts. This study's objective is to describe chiropractic faculty members' experience of the COVID-19 pandemic, their burnout as professional educators, and their strategies for coping with stress. A Qualtrics survey link was emailed to 73 current faculty and 10 previously employed faculty from 1 chiropractic school. The survey included 22 MBI, 31 EPII, and 2 questions about coping strategies. Faculty were given several weeks to complete the survey, were reminded via emails and meeting announcements, and were given paper surveys to increase participation. Responses were analyzed in STATA17. Forty-three faculty completed the survey (response rate = 52%). Of these, 25.8% reported testing positive for COVID-19, 30.23% reported difficulties transitioning to working from home, and 25.5% scored high on the MBI subscale for emotional exhaustion (EE) (mean 15.79, SD 13.68). Higher EE was associated with pandemic-related increases in mental health and sleep problems. Common coping strategies included self-care and social support. The majority of faculty reported neither contracting COVID-19 nor having difficulty transitioning to work from home. Average EE for participating faculty was lower than previous reports although a quarter scored high in EE, which may be associated with pandemic-related mental health and sleep problems. These results suggest chiropractic faculty might need support coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic and indicate the need for future research on burnout among faculty from other chiropractic institutions. Entrepreneurship education is offered at all levels of education. This theme resonates in many strategic documents at the national and European levels. The first aim of this paper is to present two educational activities aimed at developing the entrepreneurial skills of university students in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is the study of the political representation of the Albanian minority in the valley of Presheva, Serbia. In the early 1990s, in Europe of great political change has started to occur. The disintegration of the communist system presents on the daily agenda the need to organize peoples and ethnic communities into associations and political parties. In those circumstances, the Albanians in Serbia began to organize politically and coordinate political actions in order to realize individual and collective rights, as well as to resolve their political-legal status within Serbia. Historical research method was used in the analysis of this topic as well as in the collection of appropriate historical data. In general, this paper will address the topic of the historical and current nature of the Albanian minority in Serbia. Through the theoretical examination and historical research methods, results have been achieved which prove that despite the fact that the Albanians of the Presheva valley have managed to have representation, this representation is still not dignified because they have been guaranteed some rights related to self-government and the use of ethnic symbols. Purpose: This study aims to critically review the new AI-based tool ChatGPT in UAE education and evaluate its impact on students and their learning. The study maintains a specific focus on the issues of equity and governance to allow educators in UAE to ensure that the AI-based tool is used ethically, and safely and does not restrict students’ academic development. Design/methodology/approach: This paper is a conceptual paper presenting the critical reflection of authors working in the Emirates College of Advanced Education in UAE (Author 1: Dr. Othman Abu Khurma, Author 2: Dr. Nagla Ali, and Author 3: Dr. Reem Hashem). Consequently, the study reflects the authors’ evaluation of the issues of equity and governance that maximize the potential benefit of how ChatGPT is used by students in UAE schools and higher education institutions and their thoughts on how it might be improved. Findings: The findings of this study indicate that there are both benefits and drawbacks associated with the use of ChatGPT. The authors made some recommendations to the educators in UAE regarding the ethical and fair use of ChatGPT which does not hinder student learning. In other words, AR adds to the existing real-world environment some extra virtual information generated by computer techniques that can enhance the overall experience. This promising technology can be applied in different sectors such as education, healthcare, banks, tourism, etc. Despite the great work available in the literature about this topic, deep insights and extensive research are still needed before the actual implementation in the real world. The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of AR in improving the educational sector and increase awareness of using such an approach. A review is conducted to prove the validity of AR in increasing learning outcomes, students’ motivation, and engagement in classrooms, as well as improving the understanding level. Several papers were analyzed based on different application areas under various interdisciplinary databases. As a result, the papers were collected in a table-based format to provide researchers with better and easier insights on how to improve the use of AR in education before real implementation. The paper focuses on the issue of cosmopolitanism from the perspective of the people’s need to understand themselves when they do not merely attempt to explain the course of history so far but are aware of their responsibility in the ongoing process of the formation of a cosmopolitan order. The paper analyses the techniques and procedures proposed by Kant that are necessary for the realization of the ideas of cosmopolitanism. Contemporary societal challenges put in evidence the need to improve the hard and soft skills of chemical engineering students. To promote a more student-centered approach, active-based learning, and improved assessment strategies, the Brazilian government approved the so-called New National Curriculum Guidelines (NCG) for engineering courses. To comply with those guidelines, the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) is currently developing an educational modernization process sponsored by the Fulbright Commission in Brazil, called Special Program for Modernization of Undergraduate Education (PMG). The project is based on three pillars of modernization: content (what), form (how), and infrastructure (where). This paper describes initiatives in each of those pillars: content and format changes in Chemical Reaction Engineering and Process Safety courses and the creation of new spaces for a student-centered approach (an innovative classroom layout and a makerspace). By gathering two concrete classroom experiences guided by a broader institutional educational policies (the PMG project and the NCG), this paper highlights that slight changes can lead to great improvements in the learning process, leading to more engagement in the development of hard skills while favoring improvements in soft skills, such as communication, team-based work, and critical thinking. • Presents a modernization program under implementation at Universidade de São Paulo. • Discusses modernization from a triaxial perspective of content, form and infrastructure. • Reports the feedback of a PBL initiative for soft-skills development in a CRE course. • An active-based methodology in a Process Safety course is presented and discussed. • Presents two new infrastructural changes to facilitate the development of soft-skills. This paper highlights that the Uzbek government's efforts to promote collaboration in education and research serve a dual purpose of advancing academic development and branding post-dictatorial Uzbekistan. The paper argues that this approach is problematic, as issues related to the representation of Uzbek educational institutions in international academic rankings are being inaccurately treated as matters of public policy and diplomacy. The paper demonstrates that educational collaborations constitute subsystems that impact a country's image but cannot be significantly influenced by public policy and diplomacy alone. It is, therefore, important for public policy officials to recognize and understand education as a subsystem operating independently from inter-state relations, and to acquire the necessary skills to navigate it effectively. In this paper, OpenAI's ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer), also known as GPT-3, a machine-learning model that has the ability to generate human-like text, was employed as an interviewee instead of a human subject. The scope of the interview was the impacts of OpenAI's GPT on higher education and academic publishing. Particularly, several questions about the impacts of OpenAI's ChatGPT and other AI-based machine learning models on the hospitality and tourism industry and education were asked. The originality of this paper derives from having the ChatGPT as an interviewee. ChatGPT stated that its use helps instructors delegate monotonous tasks such as grading and focus on more intellectual tasks, and students may utilize ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas. ChatGPT confesses the risk of diminishing critical thinking for students in the case of over-reliance on ChatGPT as well as educational inequalities. For academic work, ChatGPT addressed it cannot be a substitute for human creativity and intellectuality because originality and novelty lack in outputs generated by ChatGPT. • Caste is an important and unique axis of inequality in India. Caste based digital divide can exacerbate the existing socioeconomic divisions between different caste groups. • Using non-linear decomposition method, the present paper explains the digital divide between disadvantaged and other caste groups. • We find that there is a considerable first level and second level digital divide between the disadvantaged caste groups and Others in India. • The caste-based digital divide is largely explained by the differences in education and income between the caste groups. • The study foregrounds the importance of bridging the caste-based digital gap by closing the gap between the educational attainments of the disadvantaged and other caste groups. With the increasing importance of information and communication technologies in access to basic services like education and health, the question of digital divide based on caste assumes importance in India where large socioeconomic disparities persist between different caste groups. Studies on caste-based digital inequality are still scanty in India. Using nationally representative survey data, this paper analyzes the first-level digital divide (ownership of computer and access to the Internet) and the second-level digital divide (individuals skills to use computer and the Internet) between the disadvantaged caste groups and Others. Further, this paper identifies the caste-based differences in socioeconomic factors that contribute to the digital divide between these groups using a non-linear decomposition method. The results show that there exists large first-level and second-level digital divide between the disadvantaged caste groups and Others in India. The non-linear decomposition results indicate that caste-based digital divide in India is rooted in historical socioeconomic deprivation of disadvantaged caste groups. More than half of the caste-based digital gap is attributable to differences in educational attainment and income between the disadvantaged caste groups and Others. Findings of this study highlight the urgent need for addressing educational and income inequality between the different caste groups in India in order to bridge the digital divide. The paper presents research on the hypothesis that by deepening their understanding of children's rights, future specialists with a pedagogical focus will significantly improve their abilities in a practical environment. The aims of the study such as the rights of the child and its place in the current educational system in Bulgaria are presented. Students from different pedagogical specialties are objects of the study. Questions from a two-part survey are described where the first part contains questions concerning the students’ awareness of children’s rights and the second part focuses on the acquired and expanded knowledge as well as its practical application. The analysis of the results shows that knowledge about children’s rights is a crucial part of the professional competencies of specialists with a pedagogical focus and has a positive influence on their abilities to teach children in a practical environment. In entry-level respiratory care education, incorporating research into curricula can be challenging due to the limited time to cover all necessary topics. This is also true in clinical post-graduate respiratory care practice. This paper addresses the need and the rationale for research integration into respiratory therapy education and post-graduate respiratory care practice as a continuum. Without learning the importance of being a consumer of research and being immersed in research-oriented teaching and practice, the respiratory care profession cannot provide evidence-based care to patients. Devoting resources to develop research expectations and priorities should be a joint effort of educators and leaders.
