Background Bicarbonate Ringer’s (BR) solution is a direct, liver and kidney metabolism-independent HCO3− buffering system. We hypothesized that BR solution is more effective in acid-base equilibrium and more conducive to better liver function than acetate Ringer’s (AR) solution in liver transplantation (LT).Methods Sixty-nine adult patients underwent orthotopic LT. Patients in the bicarbonate and acetate groups received BR and AR solutions, respectively. The primary outcome was the effect on pH and BE levels. The secondary outcome measures were the intraoperative 5% sodium bicarbonate infusion incidence and volume and liver and kidney function laboratory indicators.Results The pH and absolute BE values changed significantly during the anhepatic stage and immediately after transplanted liver reperfusion in the bicarbonate group compared with the acetate group (all P P P Conclusion Compared with AR solution, BR solution was associated with improved intraoperative acid-base balance, protected early postoperative liver graft function and reduced late-postoperative renal injury.

Advanced antibacterial technologies are needed to counter the rapid emergence of drug-resistant bacteria. Image-guided therapy is one of the most promising strategies for efficiently and accurately curing bacterial infections. Herein, a chemiluminescence (CL)-dynamic/guided antibacteria (CDGA) with multiple reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation capacity and chemiexcited near-infrared emission has been designed for the precise theranostics of bacterial infection by employing near-infrared emissive carbon nanodots (CDs) and peroxalate as CL fuels. Mechanistically, hydrogen peroxide generated in the bacterial microenvironment can trigger the chemically initiated electron exchange between CDs and energy-riched intermediate originated from the oxidized peroxalate, enabling bacterial induced inflammation imaging. Meanwhile, type I/II photochemical ROS production and type III ultrafast charge transfer from CDs under the self-illumination can inhibit the bacteria proliferation efficiently. The potential clinical utility of CDGA is further demonstrated in bacteria infected mice trauma model. The self-illuminating CDGA exhibits an excellent in vivo imaging quality in early detecting wound infections and internal inflammation caused by bacteria, and further are proven as efficient broad-spectrum antibacterial nanomedicines without drug-resistance, whose sterilizing rate is up to 99.99%.

Lymphocyte infiltration is an important feature of cancer. There is a complex network of chemokines that influence the degree and phenotype of lymphocyte infiltration, as well as the growth, survival, migration, and angiogenesis of tumor cells. High heterogeneity metastasis is a major obstacle to the treatment of breast cancer. Herein, we showed that O-GlcNAcylation of B lymphocyte–induced maturation protein-1 (Blimp-1) in lymphocytes inhibited the migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. It was found that Blimp-1 O-GlcNAcylation at Ser448 and Ser472 in lymphocytes promoted its nuclear localization, and blocked the bindings to three regions upstream of the ccl3l1 promoter to inhibit its expression. Decreased expression of CCL3L1 in lymphocytes not only decreased CCR5 expression in breast cancer cells, but also inhibited the membrane localization and activation of CCR5, thus blocking the migration and invasion of breast cancer cells in vitro. Therefore, O-GlcNAcylation of Blimp-1 in lymphocytes may serve as a new target for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer.Implications:This study reveals a new mechanism by which the lymphatic system promotes breast cancer cell metastasis.

In the hydraulic fracturing process of shale reservoir, proppant will embed and deform under the action of high closure stress. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the mechanical process and influencing factors of proppant embedding in shale. This study reproduced rough fracture surface of real rock slabs based on the reverse reconstruction method and obtained the mechanical parameters of the rock slab and proppant. In this study, a numerical model for the elastoplastic deformation of the proppant embedding in the rough fracture surface, along with mechanical test experiments, is proposed. The reliability of the numerical model is verified by the proppant embedding simulation experiment. Based on this model, the process of proppant embedding in a rough fracture under the action of closing stress and the factors influencing the width of supporting fracture were analyzed. The results show that the embedment degree of the proppant is different in different areas of the rough fracture surface. Furthermore, a stress concentration effect is apparent. The proppant embedment becomes significant after the slab enters the plastic deformation stage under high closure stress. The slabs with high roughness and low Young's modulus or proppants with small particle sizes and high Young's moduli result in a smaller width of the propped fracture.

Triplet excitons usually do not emit light under ambient conditions due to the spin-forbidden transition rule, thus they are called dark excitons. Herein, triplet excitons in carbon nanodots (CNDs) are brightened by embedding the CNDs into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films; flexible multicolor phosphorescence films are thus demonstrated. PVA chains can isolate the CNDs, and excited state electron or energy transfer induced triplet exciton quenching is thus reduced; while the formed hydrogen bonds between the CNDs and PVA can restrict vibration/rotation of the CNDs, thus further protecting the triplet excitons from nonradiative recombination. The lifetimes of the flexible multicolor phosphorescence films can reach 567, 1387, 726, and 311 ms, and the longest-lasting phosphorescence film can be observed by naked eyes for nearly 15 s even after bending 5000 times. The phosphorescence films can be processed into various patterns, and a dynamic optical signature concept has been proposed and demonstrated based on the phosphorescence films.

Increasing evidence has shown that circular RNAs (circRNAs) participate in the process of cardiac remodeling. CircRNA circ_0036176 originating from the back-splicing of exon 2 to exon4 of myosin IXA (Myo9a) gene was shown to be increased in the myocardium of patients with heart failure (HF) and riched in exosomes from human AC16 cardiomyocytes with overexpression of circ_0036176. Proliferation activity was inhibited in mCFs subjected to exosomal circ_0036176 treatment and in mCFs with overexpression of circ_0036176. Interestingly, circ_0036176 contains an IRES element and an ORF of 627 nt encoding a 208-amino acid protein (termed as Myo9a-208). Myo9a-208 was shown to mediate the inhibitory effect of circ_0036176 on CFs proliferation, and miR-218-5p could inhibit Myo9a-208 expression by binding to circ_0036176, resulting in abolishing the effect of circ_0036176 on inactivating cyclin/Rb signal and suppressing CFs proliferation. Our findings suggest that circ_0036176 inhibits mCFs proliferation by translating Myo9a-208 protein to suppress cyclin/Rb pathway.

Redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) was introduced to China many years ago. In recent years, a breeding boom for C. quadricarinatus has been set off in China due to a breakthrough in key technology of seedling breeding. The size and growth rate of C. quadricarinatus vary greatly between female and male individuals, usually the size and growth rate of male individuals are bigger than that of female individuals. There is usually a certain linkage relationship between the sex traits of crustaceans and their own nutrition. In order to explore the linkage relationship between the sex traits of C. quadricarinatus and its nutritional components, this study measured and analyzed the muscle nutritional components of female and male individuals. The results showed that the meat yield rate of male individuals was significantly higher than that of females (p < 0.05), and the crude fat content was significantly lower than that for females (p < 0.05). The ratios of essential amino acids to total amino acids for females and males were 39.61% and 38.49%, respectively. The ratios of essential amino acids to non-essential amino acids were 79.69% and 75.66%, respectively, which far exceed FAO/WHO standards and both belong to high-quality protein. The total amount of flavor amino acids of male individuals was significantly higher than that of female individuals (p < 0.05). The total amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids and the polyunsaturated fatty acid eicosapentaenoic acid of males are both significantly higher than that of females (p < 0.05). Studies have shown that there are certain differences in nutrition between male and female individuals. Compared with female individuals, the meat yield rate, crude protein content, and edible value of the muscles of male individuals is higher.

Being capable of sensing broadband infrared (IR) light is vitally important for wide-ranging applications from fundamental science to industrial purposes. Two-dimensional (2D) topological semimetals are being extensively explored for broadband IR detection due to their gapless electronic structure and the linear energy dispersion relation. However, the low charge separation efficiency, high noise level, and on-chip integration difficulty of these semimetals significantly hinder their further technological applications. Here, we demonstrate a facile thermal-assisted tellurization route for the van der Waals (vdW) growth of wafer-scale phase-controlled 2D MoTe2 layers. Importantly, the type-II Weyl semimetal 1T′-MoTe2 features a unique orthorhombic lattice structure with a broken inversion symmetry, which ensures efficient carrier transportation and thus reduces the carrier recombination. This characteristic is a key merit for the well-designed 1T′-MoTe2/Si vertical Schottky junction photodetector to achieve excellent performance with an ultrabroadband detection range of up to 10.6 µm and a large room temperature specific detectivity of over 108 Jones in the mid-infrared (MIR) range. Moreover, the large-area synthesis of 2D MoTe2 layers enables the demonstration of high-resolution uncooled MIR imaging capability by using an integrated device array. This work provides a new approach to assembling uncooled IR photodetectors based on 2D materials.

Shell colors that exhibit a positive relationship with excellent traits can be employed as marker colors for breeding new varieties of bivalves. The clam Cyclina sinensis is an economically important marine bivalve that has three main colors: black, white, and purple. In the present study, we cloned and analyzed the full-length cDNA of the tyrosinase gene (TYR), which is the key gene for melanin synthesis, to explore the formation mechanism of black shells. The full-length cDNA of TYR was cloned by RACE-PCR, and the results showed that the full-length cDNA of TYR was 2993 bp, including a 2262 bp open reading frame encoding 753 amino acids. The results of functional domain prediction showed that deduced TYR protein contains a typical functional domain of tyrosinase, the common central domain. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted using neighbor-joining and maximum likelihood methods, and the results indicated that the evolutionary positions of C. sinensis and Meretrix meretrix were closest. The qRT‒PCR results showed that TYR mRNA was highly expressed in the outer edge of the mantle, which suggested that TYR was involved in the synthesis of melanin in the mantle of C. sinensis and might play an important regulatory role in the formation of melanin in black clam shells.

The information generated by the multifaceted and multilevel processing of the data of multiple sensors is more meaningful than the information obtained by a single sensor and provides accurate information and decision-making basis for various application systems. How to apply data mining theory to the multisensor cross-media field has become a research hotspot. Through the analysis of multisensor cross-media data, it is of great significance to dig out the important rules, information, or knowledge hidden in it and use it for cross-media retrieval engine. The rule acquisition is the “bottleneck” problem of the expert system. This paper adopts the data mining method based on the rough set to acquire the rules and improves the basic algorithm of attribute reduction. Using the attribute reduction algorithm and the heuristic value reduction algorithm, the calculation is simplified and the reduction efficiency is improved. In the presentation, according to the characteristics of cross-media and the application requirements of expert systems, this paper takes the case representation based on features as the basis and classifies cases according to feature attributes. In case retrieval, according to the hierarchical structure of case features, the entire case database is organized into a multilevel hierarchical index structure. In this paper, a cross-media retrieval engine is constructed from the perspective of classifier design, and the Euclidean distance is used as the similarity matching model of image content. The mutual retrieval of images and audios preliminarily forms the design process of retrieval from one media type to another and establishes a corresponding cross-media index. The experimental results show that the algorithm has better processing effect and higher accuracy than other algorithms. Different k-nearest neighbor values were selected in the experiment, and it reached about 96% in the test environment of libsvm toolbox, which is better than the processing results of LE and LLE algorithms.

Chemiluminescence (CL), as one class of luminescence driven by chemical reaction, exhibits obvious temperature-dependence in its light emission process. Herein, temperature-dependent CL emission of carbon nanodots (CDs) in the chemical reaction of peroxalate and hydrogen peroxide is demonstrated and temperature imaging based on the temperature-dependent CL has been established for the first time. In detail, the temperature-dependent CL emission of CDs in the chemical reaction of peroxalate and hydrogen peroxide is observed, and the linear relationship between the CL intensity and temperature is demonstrated in both the CL solution and film, enabling their applications in temperature sensing and imaging capabilities. The increase of the CL emission with temperature can be attributed to the accelerated electron exchange between the CDs and intermediate generated in the peroxalate system. Meter-scale chemiluminescent CD films have been constructed. The CL sensor based on the films presents a high spatial resolution of 0.4 mm and an outstanding sensitivity of 0.08 °C

The great uncertainty caused by the high penetration of renewable energy brings severe challenges to the economic dispatch of transmission systems. In this study, a day-ahead economic dispatch model is proposed. The model is based on the coordination framework of transmission and distribution, and it fully considers the response potential of the distribution network. The scenario generation method based on the Copula function is used to describe the uncertainty of the energy output of renewable energy sources such as wind power, and then, the response potential of the distribution network is analyzed. A day-ahead economic scheduling framework for transmission and distribution coordination is proposed, which is solved by a deep reinforcement learning algorithm. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through application to the IEEE 6-bus transmission network and the IEEE 7-bus distribution network.

A high-quality 2-inch polycrystalline diamond was prepared by MPCVD technique. Photodetector planar arrays were then fabricated from the polycrystalline diamond. Clear solar-blind images have been obtained using the arrays as the sensing unit.
