Here, we describe the histopathologic features of TNBC according to four molecular subtypes: basal-like immune activated (BLIA), basal-like immune suppressed (BLIS), luminal androgen receptor (LAR) and mesenchymal (MES), classified using the NanoString BC360 gene expression assay. Methods Stage II and III invasive breast cancers were identified in the Kaiser Permanente (KP) clinical pathology archives (2005-2015) and triple negative status was determined from the KP Northern California Cancer Registry data on immunohistochemistry. Selected slides were reviewed by two pathologists who recorded key histopathologic features [histologic subtype, presence of apocrine, metaplastic or micropapillary features, nuclear grade, mitotic score, and Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs)] and marked the best tumor areas for molecular analysis. TILs were evaluated according to the guidelines of the International TILs Working Group. Cases were macrodissected and evaluated using the NanoString BC360 gene expression assay. Histologic features were then summarized according to molecular subtype. Results Of 72 TNBCs, 60 were classified as Basal-like (83.3%), 7 as HER2-enriched (9.7%) and 5 as Luminal A (6.9%). 41 cases were classified as BLIA (56.9%), 14 as BLIS (19.4%), 13 as LAR (18.0%) and 4 as MES (5.5%). Both BLIA and BLIS tumors showed uniformly high nuclear grade and high mitotic score but differed significantly in TILs (BLIA average 32% vs BLIS average 9%; p value< 0.001, t-test for mean difference in TILs). The majority of LAR cases (69%) showed apocrine differentiation, not present in any other molecular subtype (p value< 0.001, chi-square test for presence of apocrine differentiation). LAR cases showed high nuclear grade but a lower average mitotic score (average score of 2) compared with the basal-like subtypes. TILs in LAR tumors were intermediate (17%) between BLIA and BLIS tumors. Of the 4 MES cases, all showed high nuclear grade. TILs in the MES cases were also intermediate (14%) between BLIA and BLIS tumors. Other histologic features, including lobular subtype, metaplastic and micropapillary features were not associated with specific triple negative molecular subtypes. Conclusion TILs are high in the BLIA molecular subtype (average 32%), low in the BLIS subtype (average 9%) and intermediate in LAR (average 17%) and MES (average 14%) subtypes. Apocrine features, if present in a TNBC, are a strong predictor of LAR molecular subtype. The inclusion of TILs and apocrine features (both easily derived from H&E slides) in routine pathology reporting could improve the classification of TNBC and aid in the identification of patients more likely to respond to specific therapies for the BLIA, BLIS and LAR subtypes, especially in resource-limited settings. Pensar no comportamento humano, dentro das empresas, foi o objeto de estudo, pois se é de extrema importância em qualquer área da vida, não seria diferente dentro das organizações. Saber interagir com as outras pessoas, respeitá-las, ter o bom senso para saber a hora de falar e a hora de ouvir. O objetivo do estudo foi entender o comportamento humano dentro das empresas, no município de Hortolândia e região, verificando a percepção dos colaboradores quanto à cultura organizacional, motivação, liderança e percepção. Este estudo se constituiu de uma pesquisa elaborada pelos próprios pesquisadores, aplicada a 61 funcionários, tendo o processo de coleta de dados sido feito por meio da aplicação de questionário a uma amostra definida e, por fim, o processo de análise dos dados se deu por tabulação, transferência dos dados para um software estatístico, para interpretação pela análise descritiva. Foi aplicado um questionário formado por 10 questões pinçadas, pelos pesquisadores, dos questionários: “70 perguntas para se fazer pesquisa interna na empresa” e “Pesquisa de satisfação interna”. Esse questionário visou identificar o comportamento humano nos construtos liderança (itens 1, 2 e 7), motivação (itens 3, 4 e 6), percepção (itens 5, 9 e 10) e cultura organizacional (Item 8). Observados os resultados, pôde-se concluir que as empresas precisam se preocupar com a totalidade dos funcionários em todos os aspectos pesquisados. A liderança, cultura organizacional, motivação e percepção organizacional influenciam muito no desempenho dos empregados, as pessoas são diferentes entre si, portanto, cabe à empresa conhecer o perfil dos seus funcionários para saber como entusiasmá-los.

Myositis ossificans (MO) is an uncommon tumor characterized by a rapidly growing mass following a history of local trauma. Few cases of MO affecting the breast have been reported, and some were misdiagnosed as primary osteosarcoma of the breast or metaplastic breast carcinoma. The following case report presents a patient with a growing breast lump whose core biopsy result was suspicious for breast cancer. MO was diagnosed after analysis of the mastectomy specimen. This case highlights the importance of MO as a differential diagnosis of a growing soft-tissue mass after trauma to avoid unnecessary overtreatment. Precise control of dendrite branching is essential for the formation of neural circuits, yet the mechanisms that regulate this process remain poorly understood. Here we show that the kinetochore protein KNL-1, known for its role in chromosome-microtubule coupling during mitosis, together with its binding partners, the KMN network, regulate dendritic branching in theC. elegansmechanosensory neuron, PVD, in a cell division independent manner. Neuron-specific degradation of KNL-1 results in excess dendrite branching and fusion events, predisposes PVD to age-dependent degeneration, and impairs animal sensory behavior. Surprisingly, these effects are not attributable to mis-regulation of the microtubule cytoskeleton. Instead, KNL-1 degradation alters the dynamics of F-actin, an established driver of dendrite branching. Epistasis analysis shows that KNL-1 counters the activity of the RacGEF TIAM-1, a downstream effector of dendrite guidance receptors. These findings establish that the microtubule coupling KMN network promotes dendrite branching by regulating the actin cytoskeleton and provide insight into how the cytoskeleton shapes dendritic architecture.

Brazil is a large developing country that requires attention to regionalized behaviors regarding the dissemination of COVID-19. To deal with this complexity, the COVID-19 Brazil observatory was developed. The Portal aims to monitor and analyze data from different sources. Therefore, with a detailed audit, we centralized this information on the evolution of the disease, allowing for territorial and temporal monitoring. The daily publication of numbers about COVID-19 allowed anyone to follow the current scenario in several Brazilian cities. With about 1,7 million accesses, the Portal offers clarity and an easy understanding of the pandemic data in the country.

A pandemia do COVID19 mudou a forma de atuação profissional para um modelo de trabalho remoto. A escola pública do Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina também se adaptou a ela e surgiram situações conflitantes quanto à forma como os servidores públicos exercem suas atividades em casa. Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar situações no conforto térmico do ambiente de trabalho remoto que interferem negativamente nessa forma de operação remota. Trata-se de uma abordagem qualitativa e estruturada da metodologia APO (Avaliação Pós-Ocupação), com ferramentas de coleta de dados online. Os resultados podem ser refletidos em novos projetos habitacionais.

A forma das cidades pode influenciar no ganho térmico gerado pela radiação. No Brasil, que possui clima predominantemente tropical, esse ganho tende a ser evitado. Tem-se aqui como objetivo avaliar a influência das larguras das ruas no ganho térmico para a cidade de Cuiabá. O método é dividido em definição de cenários urbanos, simulação e análise de cargas térmicas. Os resultados mostram que a largura da rua tem uma influência no ganho de carga da edificação. Este é o primeiro passo de um processo de otimização do uso da energia solar de acordo com a morfologia urbana nas cidades brasileiras.

As ações do homem no meio urbano têm como consequência mudanças no clima prejudicando as condições de conforto das edificações, que interferem no rendimento de seus ocupantes. Neste contexto, objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar a influência da vegetação nas variáveis ambientais de salas de aula, com diferentes quantidades de vegetação em seu entorno em Sinop-MT. As variáveis analisadas foram a umidade relativa e a temperatura do ar. O relatório indicou que na estação chuvosa a sala com maior quantidade de vegetação no entorno apresentou menor frequência de conforto. Já na estiagem, a mesma sala apresentou maior frequência de conforto.

A morfologia construída tem desempenhado um papel central na determinação do consumo de energia nas cidades. O objetivo é avaliar o impacto da influência da densidade urbana na carga térmica para resfriamento de edificações comerciais utilizando de três cenários urbanos hipotéticos. O método consiste em simulações e análise de cargas térmicas. Os resultados mostram que a simulação de edifícios isoladamente pode gerar um erro significativo quando as medidas reduzem o consumo, principalmente se essas medidas chegam a quase 30% de diferença. Esses resultados podem ser aplicados nas fases iniciais do planejamento urbano de loteamentos para um melhor desempenho dos edifícios.

O esgotamento de recursos naturais é um assunto recorrente e uma das formas de recuperar os recursos é através do aproveitamento de resíduos no final do ciclo de vida dos produtos. Essa prática, no Brasil, tem recebido destaque com a Política Nacional dos Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), que incentiva as organizações a se esforçarem para atingir indicadores sustentáveis. Nesse contexto, o campus de Sorocaba da Universidade Federal de São Carlos tem se dedicado a desenvolver projetos de logística reversa, reaproveitamento de materiais e reciclagem de resíduos de equipamentos eletroeletrônicos (REEEs). O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar e analisar os resultados da utilização de um ponto de coleta de REEEs através de uma Survey. O projeto foi desenvolvido em parceria com um centro de inovação de uma empresa de Sorocaba, que realiza a reciclagem de REEEs coletados. Como resultados, o estudo apresentou a importância da manutenção física do ponto de coleta, da realização de campanhas de divulgação do ponto de coleta para fomentar a conscientização ambiental da comunidade e, também, apontou a sazonalidade dos materiais coletados. Adicionalmente, revelou o comportamento do consumidor, no sentido de colaboração no descarte adequado de REEE, quando há disponibilidade de um ponto de coleta específico.

Atualmente, um dos maiores desafios para as cidades que estão em fase de crescimento é a geração, coleta e destinação dos resíduos sólidos urbanos, pois com o crescimento das cidades aumenta a quantidade de resíduos e são necessárias propostas de intervenção para os destinos já existentes. Diante desse fato, este trabalho vem apresentar uma análise da gestão de resíduos sólidos no município de Sinop, situado no norte de Mato Grosso, região conhecida também como Amazônia Legal, sendo uma cidade muito nova, foi verificada a atual situação, realizando um diagnóstico, prognóstico e propondo melhorias que se adequem ao município em questão. Como resultado da análise percebeu-se que não existe, no município, um sistema de coleta seletiva, bem como uma usina de reciclagem. Além disso, existe um convenio com empresa para a coleta de lixo, porém as instalações de trabalho são inadequadas aos catadores. Para uma melhoria dos problemas observados propõe-se a construção de aterro sanitário que já está em projeto, o início da prática de coleta seletiva adequada, a implantação de sistemas de biodigestores, e a reciclagem de resíduos de construção civil, para que, dessa forma, os impactos sobre o meio ambiente sejam diminuídos e os resíduos que antes seriam poluentes, passem a ser reutilizados como fonte de energia ou matéria prima, por exemplo.

Background: Extreme adiposity has been associated with tumor progression and increased mortality after a breast cancer diagnosis, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Pre-clinical and in vitro analyses suggest that higher levels of adiposity impair anti-tumor immunity, but studies in human breast cancer patients are lacking. Previously, we found that higher levels of subcutaneous adiposity had stronger associations with breast cancer outcomes than did higher levels of visceral adiposity or overall obesity measured by BMI, underscoring the importance of measuring adipose tissue distribution as well as overall body size to understand the adiposity-cancer link. Methods: We identified women with a first-primary, stage 2 or 3 invasive breast cancer diagnosed and treated at Kaiser Permanente Northern California between 2005 and 2015. Using diagnostic computed tomography scans collected as part of routine clinical care, we measured subcutaneous (SAT) and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) areas in cm2 at the third lumbar vertebra. We calculated body mass index (BMI) from clinically-collected height and weight. We isolated RNA from 251 FFPE breast tumors collected at biopsy or excision; these were a preliminary, random sample within each immunohistochemical subtype groups from an ongoing study that will analyze 1400 breast tumors. We verified RNA quality prior to performing NanoString BC 360™ assays to calculate the PAM50 molecular intrinsic subtype and measure the expression levels of genes related to immune cell abundance and anti-tumor immune activity. Using linear regression models, we examined the mean change in log2 gene expression (dependent variables) associated with each adiposity exposure (BMI, SAT and VAT as independent variables). Results: Mean (SD) age at diagnosis was 56 (13); a majority of women were either overweight (BMI 25- < 30-kg/m2: 30%) or obese (BMI>30-kg/m2: 35%), and most were diagnosed with stage 2 (61%) vs. stage 3 (39%) breast cancer with representation from each PAM50 subtype: n (%) Luminal A, 46 (18%) Luminal B, 56 (22%), HER2-overexpressing 26 (27%), and 82 (33%) basal-like. In unadjusted analyses, expression of genes related to macrophages, PD-1 and TIGIT increased with increasing subcutaneous adiposity, whereas expression of genes related to mast cells decreased (see Table 1). We found a similar (though non-significant) pattern for BMI. Associations with increasing visceral adiposity were closer to the null. After adjusting for PAM50 subtype, age and stage at diagnosis, only the association of increasing subcutaneous adiposity with increasing PD-1 expression remained statistically significant. Conclusion: Excess subcutaneous adiposity was associated with increased PD-1 expression, whereas excess visceral adiposity or obesity defined by BMI were not. These results from the first 251 samples of an ongoing study of 1400 tumors provide evidence from human breast cancer patients to demonstrate the importance of measuring body composition to assess adipose tissue distribution and support the hypothesis that excess adiposity impairs anti-tumor immunity. Due to the accelerated urbanization process, Brazilian cities grow with little or no urban planning, and when it is present, climate issues are generally not considered, especially in small and medium-sized cities. Thus, the present research had as objective to evaluate a method of application of climatic knowledge throughout the process of revision of the Municipal Master Plan of Cáceres-MT. The methodology used to evaluate climatic variables is based on data provided by INMET and mobile transect measurements within the urban perimeter. Through this, it was possible to know the behavior of air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction during the dry season and also over the years. Thus, through mobile transect measurements, a temperature difference between the analyzed points of 1.2ºC in the morning period and 1.9ºC in the afternoon and evening periods could be observed. As for humidity, a difference of 10% was observed in the morning period and 9% in the afternoon and evening periods. Therefore, through the phases of the Master Plan (diagnosis, prognosis and public management), proposals have been prepared to mitigate the identified harmful effects of the most affected areas in relation to the climate, and thus, contribute to the review process of the Municipal Master Plan of Cáceres-MT with climatic knowledge.

However, many countries now find it difficult to produce sufficient energy, generating a relevant socioeconomic impact. The objective of this work is to study the potential energy of sugarcane bagasse after decomposing fungus process. This fungus, the basidiomycete Pleurotus ostreatus, acts in the bioconversion of lignocellulosic residues, through the decomposition of the solid substrate in a process of enzymatic catalysis. The activation energy, Ea, varied from 12 to 145 kJ/mol, and the calorific value and the fixed carbon obtained were 21 MJ/kg and 82.4%, respectively, values considered acceptable for a solid biofuel. In the results of the enzymatic analysis performed through the laccase secretion and manganese peroxidase (MnP), measured by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy technique (FT-IR), it is possible to identify when there was degradation of the lignin due to the methoxy group (CH3) elongation. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis showed partially fragmented structures, which occurred due to catalysis and pyrolysis processes, respectively. [Figure not available: see fulltext.]. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental and behavioral disorders are increasingly common and currently affect on average 1/4 of the world’s population at some point in their lives, economically impacting communities and generating a high social cost that involves human and technological resources. Among these problems, in Brazil, the lack of a transparent, formal and standardized mental health information model stands out, thus hindering the generation of knowledge, which directly influences the quality of the mental healthcare services provided to the population. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a computational ontology to serve as a common knowledge base among those involved in this domain, to make inferences about treatments, symptoms, diagnosis and prevention methods, helping health professionals in clinical decisions. To do this, we initially carried out a literature review involving scientific papers and the most current WHO guidelines on mental health, later we transferred this knowledge to a formal computational model, building the proposed ontology. Also, the Hermit Reasoner inference engine was used to deduce facts and legitimize the consistency of the logic rules assigned to the model. Hence, it was possible to develop a semantic computational artifact for storage and generate knowledge to assist mental health professionals in clinical decisions.

One of the purposes of public health databases is to serve as repositories for storing information regarding the treatment of patients. TBWEB (TuBerculose WEB) is an epidemiological surveillance system for tuberculosis cases in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. This paper proposes an analysis of the TBWEB database with the use of clinical pathways modelling. Firstly, the database was analysed in order to find the interventions registered on the database. The clinical pathways were obtained from the database by the use of process mining techniques. Similar pathways were grouped into clusters in order to find the most common treatment sequences. Each cluster was characterised and the risk of bad outcomes associated with each cluster was discovered. Some clusters had an association with the risk of negative outcomes. This method can be applied to other databases, serve as a base for decision-making systems and can be used to monitor public health databases.

Tuberculosis (TB), is an ancient disease that probably affects humans since pre-hominids. This disease is caused by bacteria belonging to the mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and usually affects the lungs in up to 67% of cases. In 2019, there were estimated to be over 10 million tuberculosis cases in the world, in the same year TB was between the ten leading causes of death, and the deadliest from a single infectious agent. Chest X-ray (CXR) has recently been promoted by the WHO as a tool possibly placed early in screening and triaging algorithms for TB detection. Numerous TB prevalence surveys have demonstrated that CXR is the most sensitive screening tool for pulmonary TB and that a significant proportion of people with TB are asymptomatic in the early stages of the disease. This study presents experimentation of classic convolutional neural network architectures on public CRX databases in order to create a tool applied to the diagnostic aid of TB in chest X-ray images. As result the study has an AUC ranging from 0.78 to 0.84, sensitivity from 0.76 to 0.86 and specificity from 0.58 to 0.74 depending on the network architecture. The observed performance by these metrics alone are within the range of metrics found in the literature, although there is much room for metrics improvement and bias avoiding. Also, the usage of the model in a triage use-case could be used to validate the efficiency of the model in the future.

Para isso a função de prova que inicializa o processo de Lanczos é escolhida como sendo uma autofunção do Hamiltoniano não perturbado, com a idéia de compará-lo com a teoria de perturbações ordinária "a Ia Rayleigh-Schrodinger" .Esta escolha reduz a eficiência potencial do método, porém este converge mais rapidamente que a série de perturbações e funciona inclusive em situações onde esta série diverge Abstract: It is made a complete revision of the properties and uses of well behaved Lanczos method, ascribing to the process a more physical meaning. The method is compared with Quantum Mechanical perturbation theory. Therefore the trial function that initializes the process is chosen as an eigenfunction of the unperturbed hamiltonian, in order to compare it with the ordinary perturbation theory of Rayleigh-Schrodinger. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo aplicar uma sequência didática que consistia em dois jogos utilizados como mediadores dos processos de ensino e aprendizagem da Matemática, a saber: Jogo das Palavras e Jogo das Cifras (mensagens codificadas). O intuito era explorar conteúdos tais como: função afim, linear, composta, sobrejetora, injetora, bijetora e função inversa, buscando relacionar os temas trabalho e educação na perspectiva de uma formação humana e integral. Essa sequência didática foi aplicada durante o desenvolvimento de um projeto de ensino realizado no Instituto Federal do Maranhão – IFMA, no Campus Avançado de Porto Franco, a uma turma do segundo ano do curso Técnico em Informática. Este texto tem como foco trazer as investigações e inferências delineadas a partir das atividades inerentes aos Jogos das Palavras e das Cifras. Constatou-se que esses jogos, em sala de aula, podem assumir função relevante no trabalho do professor, servindo-lhe de recurso alternativo e adaptável aos propósitos da educação numa perspectiva da aprendizagem significativa de David Ausubel e Joseph Novak. Porém, alguns resultados apontam para a necessidade de catalisar esforços para que novos estudos e pesquisas sejam realizadas a fim de aprimorar os aspectos pedagógicos e metodológicos da prática docente e para a melhoria da aprendizagem dos alunos.

Background: Psoriasis is a skin-articular disease with unclear etiopathogenesis. It has been suggested that the disease is immune-mediated by T-lymphocytes, predominantly Th17 cells. Similar to psoriasis, geographic tongue is an inflammatory disease with participation of Th17 cells and direct correlation with psoriasis. Objective: To investigate and compare the inflammatory responses and the Th17 pathway in psoriasis and geographic tongue. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with 46 participants that were categorized into three groups: (A) patients with psoriasis vulgaris; (B) patients with geographic tongue and psoriasis; (C) patients with geographic tongue without psoriasis. All patients underwent physical examination, and a skin and oral biopsy for histopathological examination and immunohistochemical analysis with anti-IL6, anti-IL17, and anti-IL23 antibodies. Results: Histological analysis of all lesions showed mononuclear inflammatory infiltrate. However, moderate intensity was prevalent for the patients with geographic tongue and psoriasis and geographic tongue groups. Immunopositivity for the antibodies anti-IL6, anti-IL17, and anti-IL23 revealed cytoplasmic staining, mainly basal and parabasal, in both psoriasis and geographic tongue. Regarding IL-6, in patients with geographic tongue and psoriasis cases the staining was stronger than in patients with geographic tongue without psoriasis cases. IL-17 evidenced more pronounced and extensive staining when compared to the other analyzed interleukins. IL-23 presented similar immunopositivity for both geographic tongue and psoriasis, demonstrating that the neutrophils recruited into the epithelium were stained. Study limitation: This study was limited by the number of cases. Conclusion: The inflammatory process and immunostaining of IL-6, IL-17, and IL-23 were similar in geographic tongue and psoriasis, suggesting the existence of a type of geographic tongue that represents an oral manifestation of psoriasis.

In the last decades, many studies have shown ample evidence that the existence of trees and vegetation around buildings can contribute to reduce the demand for energy by cooling and heating. The use of green areas in the urban environment as an effective strategy in reducing the cooling load of buildings has attracted much attention, though there is a lack of quantitative actions to apply the general idea to a specific building or location. Due to the large-scale construction of high buildings, large amounts of solar radiation are reflected and stored in the canyons of the streets. This causes higher air temperature and surface temperature in city areas compared to the rural environment and, consequently, deteriorates the urban heat island effect. The constant high temperatures lead to more air conditioning demand time, which results in a significant increase in building energy consumption. In general, the shade of the trees reduces the building energy demand for air conditioning, reducing solar radiation on the walls and roofs. The increase of urban green spaces has been extensively accepted as effective in mitigating the effects of heat island and reducing energy use in buildings. However, by influencing temperatures, especially extreme, it is likely that trees also affect human health, an important economic variable of interest. Since human behavior has a major influence on maintaining environmental quality, today's urban problems such as air and water pollution, floods, excessive noise, cause serious damage to the physical and mental health of the population. By minimizing these problems, vegetation (especially trees) is generally known to provide a range of ecosystem services such as rainwater reduction, air pollution mitigation, noise reduction, etc. This study focuses on the functions of temperature regulation, improvement of external thermal comfort and cooling energy reduction, so it aims to evaluate the influence of trees on the energy consumption of a house in the mid-western Brazil, located at latitude 15 ° S, in the center of South America. The methodology adopted was computer simulation, analyzing two scenarios that deal with issues such as the influence of vegetation and tree shade on the energy consumption of a building. In this way, the methodological procedures were divided into three stages: climatic contextualization of the study region; definition of a basic dwelling, of the thermophysical properties; computational simulation for quantification of energy consumption for the four facade orientations. The results show that the façades orientated to north, east and south, without the insertion of arboreal shading, obtained higher values of annual energy consumption. With the adoption of shading, the facades obtained a consumption reduction of around 7,4%. It is concluded that shading vegetation can bring significant climatic contribution to the interior of built environments and, consequently, reduction in energy consumption, promoting improvements in the thermal comfort conditions of users.

The opening of windows allows the entrance of natural light, however, allows the transfer of thermal load from inside to outside the building and vice versa. Currently, despite the technological advances, it is still not possible in many buildings to integrate natural and artificial light. The design of a building, its geometry, size and properly orientation of the openings can result in great energy savings. Hence, defining the ideal window area for an ambient in which there is a balance between solar thermal load, air conditioning and natural and artificial lighting would lead to an environment whereby the energy consumption is optimized. This research presents the already consolidated methodology for calculation of ideal window area, which aims at the lower consumption of artificial lighting and air conditioning, considering a residential living environment. The analysis of energy consumption was carried out using the DesignBuilder software and the climate file of the city of Cuiabá - MT was considered, in order to quantify the impact of the climate on the supply of natural light and energy consumption. The methodology was divided into 3 stages, the first one consists of the determination of the base case and the constitution of the types of materials for analysis of the different thermal transmittance. In the second part of the method the simulations were performed and in the last stage the results were analysed. The simulations were performed considering the opening area at each 10% of the facade, for three geometries (1: 2, 1: 1 and 2: 1) considering three construction systems. The results showed that the openings in the south facade consume less and that this orientation allows larger openings, as well as the use of geometries with greater depth. Also, the thermal properties of the envelope influence the ideal window area, and the larger the thermal capacity the larger the openings that can be used. The present research showed the importance of considering the adequate areas and implementation of windows in the projects through the simulation. The potential of using sunlight for lighting has also been proven, by integrating natural and artificial light.

The growing concern about the consumption of electric energy and environmental resources has led to research on sustainable approaches in construction. Efficient buildings have been built not only to attract new investments but also to take environmental considerations into account. Energy-efficient buildings, known as Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB), use a variety of passive strategies for energy efficiency, as well as for reduction in demand for air conditioning, heating and lighting. However, in order to design a ZEB it is necessary to search for energy efficiency strategies related to the climate where the building is located. These techniques impact directly on cost benefit and energy performance. The objective of this research is to identify efficient approaches for housing, taking into account the influence of climate, of solar irradiation for energy generation, for two Brazilian capitals, Salvador and Curitiba. The cities have the climates classified as Af (tropical climate) and Cfb (hot and temperate), respectively. The methodological procedures were divided into three stages: quantification of the consumption of each passive strategy adopted in order to determine the energy saving; analysis of electricity, quantifying the balance between electric demand and generation; and assessment of the life cycle cost of the net present value considering minimum attractive rate of return and payback. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was also calculated. The results show that for the city of Salvador the payback is 6.75 years and IRR of 15.06% and for Curitiba payback is 10.25 years and IRR of 8.49%. These outcomes demonstrate that in hot climate payback happens in less time, due to the high incidence of solar radiation in the year. The application of ZEB becomes advantageous due to the fact of climatic diversity, high solar radiation and mild winter and results in higher returns in less time.

Objetivo: identificar indicadores que possam ser utilizados na gestão dos Serviços de Saúde Mental. Método: revisão integrativa em que adotou-se a estratégia População, Conceito e Contexto para formular a seguinte questão norteadora: “Quais indicadores podem ser usados para a gestão dos serviços de saúde mental?”. Resultados: um total de 22 artigos foram incluídos e divididos em dois grupos principais: países com renda inicial alta (54%), bem como países de baixa e média renda (46%). Identificamos 5 estudos que experimentaram o uso de indicadores, 5 estudos que relataram implementação parcial, 9 estudos que não relataram uso ou implementação, 1 estudo sobre o processo de seleção de indicadores, 1 como piloto de implementação e um estudo final com uma discussão para implementação. Os países de alta renda também têm dificuldade para implementar indicadores de saúde mental. As principais dificuldades na adoção do uso de indicadores são a falta de serviços básicos de saúde mental, recursos financeiros, legislação, interesse político e diretrizes para sua gestão. Conclusão: é incomum encontrar uma comparação descritiva de programas de monitoramento de qualidade no nível de sistema na literatura técnico-científica relacionada a indicadores de saúde mental. In this study an enzymatic process was applied through the Pleurotus sajor-caju fungus, for decomposition of the lignin present in the sugarcane bagasse, with the objective of improving the kinetic and bioenergetic parameters of this biomass. Detailed analyzes were carried out, such as kinetic, morphological, elementary and calorific, to verify its quality as biofuel. Values of Ea =31 kJ/mol to 65 kJ/mol, A = 1.4 105 s −1 to 3.0 105 s −1, ΔH = 26 kJ/mol to 60 kJ/mol, ΔG = 124 kJ/mol to 154 kJ/mol and ΔS = 150 J/mol to 157 J/mol for the conversion range (α) from 0.20 to 0.95, were obtained, with little variability in thermo-kinetic parameters. The HHV and fixed carbon values were 19.37 MJ/kg and 83.1%, respectively, demonstrating that this sugar cane residue has the potential to be used as a solid biofuel, after its use in the production of Pleurotus sajor-caju fungi, thus allowing to create more economic value in the sugar cane transformation chain. Métodos: Sobre modelo compartimental de transição dinâmica e simulações de Monte Carlo, construíram-se três cenários de propagação conforme o nível de adesão às medidas de distanciamento social no Distrito Federal, Brasil. Os valores dos parâmetros do modelo fundamentaram-se em fontes oficiais, bases com indexação bibliográfica e repositórios públicos de dados. Resultados: O cenário favorável, com manutenção constante de 58% de adesão ao distanciamento social, estimou pico de 189 (intervalo interquartil [IIQ]: 57 a 394) internações-UTI em 7/3/2021. A ausência do distanciamento implicaria grave cenário, com pico de 6.214 (IIQ: 4.618 a 8.415) internações-UTI já na data provável de 14/7/2020. Methods: Three dissemination scenarios were built according to level of adherence to social distancing measures in the context of Brazil's Federal District, based on a dynamic transition compartmental model and Monte Carlo simulations. The model's parameter values were based on official sources, indexed bibliographic databases and public data repositories. Results: The favorable scenario, with constant 58% adherence to social distancing, estimated a peak of 189 (interquartile range [IQR]: 57 – 394) ICU hospitalizations on March 3rd2021. Absence of social distancing would result in an unfavorable scenario with a peak of 6,214 (IQR: 4,618 – 8,415) ICU hospitalizations probably as soon as July 14th2020. Conclusion: The projections indicate the high impact of social distancing measures and emphasize the applicability of public indicators for COVID-19 monitoring.

Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o impacto da aplicação de paredes semienterradas no desempenho termoenergético de uma habitação de interesse social localizada em clima de Savana, implantada em zona bioclimática ZB7. A metodologia consiste em simulações no software EnergyPlus, utilizando o input GroundDomain: Basement, avaliação da carga térmica pelo método de balanço térmico e indicador de graus-hora de resfriamentos, para o qual estabeleceram-se os valores de 29 e 22°C, para resfriamento e para aquecimento, respectivamente, definidos a partir da faixa de conforto térmico adaptativo. Observa-se que a incorporação da estratégia proporciona reduções na carga térmica para os quartos de até 45% e nos graus-hora de resfriamento de cerca de 13.5%, em relação à habitação convencional. Evidencia-se, assim, que a adoção de massa térmica para resfriamento resulta em impactos positivos no desempenho termoenergético de habitações localizadas na zona bioclimática ZB7.

Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo aplicar a nova proposta de etiquetagem de edifícios comerciais, utilizando um edifício de escritórios sob influência de três grupos climáticos brasileiros (Cuiabá-MT, São Paulo-SP e Urubici-SC), com o intuito de verificar o desempenho energético e a aplicabilidade do método. O processo metodológico consiste na aplicação do método simplificado da nova proposta com base em energia primária de edificações comerciais. Obteve-se classificação de eficiência energética “A” para as cidades analisadas, com destaque para Cuiabá que apresenta valores de 20.632kWh/ano, enquanto para São Paulo é de 11.259kWh/ano e Urubici de 8.805kWh/ano. Conclui-se que os valores obtidos em Cuiabá, podem ser justificados pelo rigor climático da região, consequentes de altas temperaturas e pela envoltória envidraçada do edifício, contribuindo para ganhos de carga por radiação solar. Assim, levanta-se o questionamento, sobre a falta dos pré-requisitos para cada grupo climático, além dos valores da condição de referência serem padronizados. No entanto, o método simplificado foi adequado para esta avaliação.

Os edifícios consomem mais de um terço da energia primária no mundo. No Brasil, os edifícios do setor residencial representam cerca de 25% do consumo de energia elétrica. Grande parte dessa eletricidade é desperdiçada devido à ineficiência energética dessas edificações, seja relacionado à envoltória e outros. Sabe-se que se tem ganho e/ou perda de calor expressiva nas coberturas. O uso de isolantes altera esse fenômeno, mas tem um acréscimo de valor, dessa forma o melhor meio para analisar o custo benefício de diferentes tipologias construtivas é pelo custo do ciclo de vida. Assim, tem-se como objetivo analisar o custo benefício de diferentes tipos de coberturas pelo Custo do Ciclo de Vida. A metodologia adotada foi de simulação com o EnergyPlus calculando o consumo e uso da TCPO para determinar os custos da habitação e dos diferentes tipos de cobertura. Com os resultados percebeu-se que o modelo com menor consumo não teve o menor custo do ciclo de vida, no entanto essa relação não é linear e o custo inicial teve mais impacto. Notou-se a importância do custo do ciclo de vida como parâmetro para o custo benefício estão inclusos os custos iniciais investidos e o custo da energia elétrica.

Com a crescente preocupação em relação ao consumo dos recursos ambientais e gasto energético surgem também novas pesquisas voltadas à área sustentável da construção civil. Edifícios eficientes vem sendo construídos não só com o intuito de atrair novos investimentos, mas também levando em conta o cunho ambiental. Edifícios de Energia Zero – EEZ contam com a aplicação de diversas estratégias passivas visando a eficiência energética dos mesmos e consequentemente a diminuição da demanda por refrigeração, iluminação, aquecimento, incluindo o uso de equipamentos mais eficientes e produzem a energia que consomem, tendo um balanço nulo. Entretanto, o grande problema enfrentado pelos profissionais é até onde usar medidas de eficiência energética em termos de custo benefício, ou seja, até que ponto é viável investir em estratégias passivas para redução do consumo. Essa análise depende do clima e economia do local em que a edificação será inserida, portanto é essencial haver estudos que subsidiem as decisões tomadas. Em virtude disso foi realizada uma análise da viabilidade econômica de implantação de uma EEZ em regiões de clima quente com auxílio de estratégias bioclimáticas. O estudo foi desenvolvido por meio de simulações computacionais no software DesignBuilder e a viabilidade financeira foi definida pelo cálculo do payback utilizando para isso o Valor Presente Líquido. Os resultados demonstraram um tempo de retorno de investimento de aproximadamente 7 anos, mostrando assim a viabilidade econômica da implantação da mesma. Podendo dessa forma ser implantado por meios de políticas públicas, podendo assim ter-se micro geradores com viabilidade econômica.

O conceito de mobilidade urbana tem influência direta nas populações das cidades. O Índice de Mobilidade Urbana Sustentável (IMUS) é uma ferramenta de avaliação e diagnostico dos aspectos de mobilidade, proposto com o intuito de abranger as diversas áreas que esse tema possui. O índice possui uma estrutura composta por domínios, temas e indicadores, permitindo em sua aplicação uma análise parcial. Nesta pesquisa, buscou-se aplicar em Sinop o IMUS de maneira setorial sobre os domínios Aspectos Ambientais e Modos não Motorizados, que atingiram 40,7% e 40,5% da pontuação máxima, respectivamente. Esses números representam influências negativas na mobilidade urbana. O crescimento acentuado da frota de veículos motorizados, em ritmo muito acima do crescimento populacional e da implantação de obras de transportes reflete o desafio enfrentado atualmente no município, sendo necessárias soluções para que a tomada de ações seja efetiva. A partir dos resultados obtidos são feitas sugestões de melhorias para atender as exigências na área da mobilidade urbana, cada vez mais rígidas devido a sua crescente discussão.

O edifício, como mecanismo de controle das variáveis climáticas, deve proporcionar eficiência energética e conforto ao usuário. Os vidros são os maiores transmissores de calor para o interior da edificação, portanto, a escolha da tipologia utilizada deve ser criteriosa, levando em conta o clima ao qual será inserido. Este artigo propôs analisar a influência de diferentes tipologias de vidro no consumo de energia elétrica, nos ganhos internos de calor e no conforto térmico interno de uma habitação de interesse social (HIS) na cidade de Cuiabá – Mato Grosso. A metodologia dividiu-se em três etapas, sendo a primeira a definição da edificação de referência, seguida da escolha das tipologias de vidros e, por fim, a simulação computacional térmica do edifício utilizando o programa DesignBuilder. A edificação de referência adotada para a pesquisa foi uma HIS de 56,50m², e foram avaliados os vidros simples, duplo, triplo e vidro termocrômico, todos com espessura de 6mm. Através das simulações energéticas, constatou-se que o vidro termocrômico apresentou maior eficiência quanto ao consumo de energia, seguido do vidro triplo com alto rendimento no quesito diminuição de incidência solar no interior do ambiente. Dessa forma, constatou-se que os vidros termocrômico e triplo são os que apresentam melhores desempenhos.

The thermal behavior and chemical characteristics of the Capsicum waste from the use for the manufacture of sauces and condiments were investigated using thermogravimetric analysis, higher heating values, ignition (Ti) and burnout temperatures (Tb) and kinetic study using isoconversional models. Torrefaction and pyrolysis conditions were applied. Characterization based on ultimate and proximate analysis, gravimetric and gravimetric yield factor were also realized. Thermal analysis showed a biomass conversion between 150 °C and 500 °C. Proximate analysis identified an average volatile content of 46.5%, and carbon and fixed carbon were 22.3 and 31.1%, respectively. Gravimetric yield varied between 28 and 58%. Considering the intersection model, ignition and burnout temperature varied between 342–354 °C and 470–503 °C, respectively. The deviation model found an ignition temperature between 210 and 249 °C. Objetivo: Construir cenários e analisar o impacto das políticas de distanciamento social na propagação da COVID-19 e a necessidade de leitos de unidades de terapia intensiva (UTI). Métodos: Sobre modelo compartimental de transição dinâmica e simulações de Monte Carlo, construíram-se três cenários de propagação conforme o nível de adesão às medidas de distanciamento social no Distrito Federal, Brasil. Os valores dos parâmetros do modelo fundamentaram-se em fontes oficiais, bases com indexação bibliográfica e repositórios públicos de dados. Resultados: O cenário favorável, com manutenção constante de 58% de adesão ao distanciamento social, estimou pico de 189 (intervalo interquartil [IIQ]: 57 a 394) internações-UTI em 7/3/2021. A ausência do distanciamento implicaria grave cenário, com pico de 6.214 (IIQ: 4.618 a 8.415) internações-UTI já na data provável de 14/7/2020. Conclusão: as projeções indicam alto impacto das medidas de distanciamento social e reforçam a aplicabilidade de indicadores públicos no monitoramento da COVID-19. Objective: To build scenarios and analyze the impact of social distancing policies on the spread of COVID-19 and the need for intensive care unit beds. Methods: Three dissemination scenarios were built according to level of adherence to social distancing measures in the context of Brazil's Federal District, based on a dynamic transition compartmental model and Monte Carlo simulations. The model's parameter values were based on official sources, indexed bibliographic databases and public data repositories. Results: The favorable scenario, with constant 58% adherence to social distancing, estimated a peak of 189 (interquartile range [IQR]: 57 – 394) ICU hospitalizations on March 3rd2021. Absence of social distancing would result in an unfavorable scenario with a peak of 6,214 (IQR: 4,618 – 8,415) ICU hospitalizations probably as soon as July 14th2020. Conclusion: The projections indicate the high impact of social distancing measures and emphasize the applicability of public indicators for COVID-19 monitoring. Métodos: Con un modelo compartimental de transición dinámica y simulaciones de Monte Carlo, los escenarios de propagación se construyeron de acuerdo al nivel de adhesión de las medidas de distanciamiento social en el Distrito Federal, Brasil. Los parámetros se basaron en fuentes oficiales, bases de datos indexadas y repositorios de datos. Este artigo objetiva mapear quais inovações de processos foram implementadas por Micro e Pequenas Empresas (MPEs) de Petrolina, localizadas em Petrolina (Sertão do São Francisco, Pernambuco). Para tanto, esta pesquisa é de natureza básica e exploratória, tendo se baseado em procedimentos bibliográficos e documentais para o levantamento de dados. Ainda foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo em empresas no setor de serviços. O método utilizado foi o quantitativo e os dados foram coletados através da aplicação de questionários focados em inovação e gestão, presencialmente com vinte empresários de diferentes segmentos da região. Os resultados indicam que as ações de inovação executadas nas MPEs contribuíram para superar efeitos da crise político-econômica do período 2015 a 2017. Tais inovações focaram em ações de benchmarking, reestruturação de departamentos, capacitação dos colaboradores, criação de estratégias para venda de produtos, mapeamento dos processos, redução na quantidade de fornecedores, aumento do quadro funcional, melhoria do layout da empresa, terceirização do serviço de entrega, registro de desperdícios, aquisição de softwares gerenciais, gestão eletrônica de documentos e adequação aos aspectos ecológicos. Além disto, a pesquisa in loco possibilitou observar que os empresários possuem uma visão imediatista e uma fragilização dos processos de construção de uma cultura da inovação.
