An 18-metal lanthanide nanoring [Yb18(L1)8(HL2)2(OAc)20(MeOH)8(EtOH)6(H2O)4] (1), which shows a ratiometric fluorescent response to DPA, was constructed through the strategy of using two types of polydentate organic ligands. The addition of DPA increases the visible ligand-centered emission, but decreases the NIR lanthanide luminescence of 1. The limit of luminescent detection of 1 for DPA is 1.5 μM. The high fluorescence sensitivity of 1 to DPA is not affected by the existence of interferents such as aromatic carboxylates and ions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Main observation and conclusion: One near‐infrared (NIR) luminescent octanuclear Zn(II)‐Yb(III) complex [Zn6Yb2L4(OAc)2(DMF)EtOH] (1) was obtained from a new multidentate Schiff base ligand. It exhibits interesting luminescent sensing activity to antibiotics, in particular to nitrofuran antibiotics (NFAs) with high sensitivity due to the inner filter effect. The NIR luminescence quenching constants and limits of the detection of the complex towards NFAs are 2.9 × 104—5.5 × 104 L/mol and 1.27—2.38 μmol/L, respectively. One NIR luminescent 14-metal Nd(III) nanoring (1, molecular size: 1.0 × 2.2 × 2.6 nm) was obtained from a rigid tridentate ligand, which can absorb and transfer light energy to the Nd(III) ions. 1 shows interesting luminescence sensing activity to antibiotics, in particular to NFAs with high sensitivity due to the inner filter effect. The quenching constants and the limits of detection of 1 to NFAs are 1.05 × 104 M−1–2.33 × 104 M−1 and 3.05 μM–6.75 μM, respectively. The high fluorescence sensitivities of 1 to NFAs are not changed by the existence of other antibiotics. In the study of three-dimensional flat holography, the BMS field theory manifests the infinite-dimensional BMS3 symmetry, a powerful tool in elucidating numerous universal phenomena. This paper explores a certain low-temperature limit of the BMS field theory. The primary focus lies in the calculation of the thermal correction to the Rényi entropy of the single interval on the cylinder from the replica trick and the uniformizing map. Ajania purpurea is a small semi-shrub in the Asteraceae family. Its corolla is purplish red from the middle to the top, and its leaves and flowers are all fragrant. It can be introduced and cultivated as ornamental plants. In order to survive adversity, plants actively regulate the expression of stress response genes and transcripts. Alternative splicing is a common phenomenon and an important regulation mode of eukaryotic gene transcription, which plays an important role in various biological processes. In this study, four splice variants of the NST1 gene were identified from A. purpurea, and the molecular mechanism of NST1 alternative splice variants involved in abiotic stress was explored through bioinformatics, transgenics and paraffin sectionalization. The analysis of amino acid sequences showed that ApNST1.1 had alternative 5′splicing, ApNST1.2 had alternative 3′splicing and ApNST1 had the two splicing types. The main conclusions from studying transgenic tobacco seedlings and adult seedlings under abiotic stress were as follows: ApNST1, ApNST1.1 and ApNST1.3 showed salt tolerance at seedling stage, especially ApNST1.3. At the mature seedling stage, the stem height of ApNST1.1 increased significantly, and ApNST1.1 showed obvious salt tolerance, while ApNST1.2 showed obvious cold resistance. Compared to Super35S::GFP, the xylem of ApNST1 thickened by 94 μm, and the cell wall thickened by 0.215 μm. These results are of great significance to the breeding and application of ApNST1 to select splice variants with more resistance to abiotic stress, and to future study in this area. Leucanthemella linearis is a marsh plant in the family Compositae. It has good water and moisture resistance and ornamental properties, which makes it one of the important materials for chrysanthemum breeding and genetic improvement. The NST1 (NAC secondary wall enhancement factor 1) gene is associated with the thickening of the secondary walls of fiber cells in the plant ducts and the secondary xylem and plays an important role in plant stress resistance. In this study, two variable spliceosomes of the NST1 gene were identified from a chrysanthemum plant by using bioinformatics, qRT-PCR, transgene, and paraffin section methods to explore the molecular mechanism of the variable splicing of NST1 under abiotic stress. The results show that only three amino acids were found to be different between the two LlNST1 variants. After being treated with salt, drought, and low temperatures, analysis of the expression levels of the LlNST1 and LlNST1.1 genes in Ll showed that LlNST1.1 could respond to low temperatures and salt stress and had a weak response to drought stress. However, the expression level of LlNST1 under the three treatments was lower than that of LlNST1.1. LlNST1 transgenic tobacco showed increased saline–alkali resistance and low-temperature resistance at the seedling stage. LlNST1.1 transgenic tobacco also showed enhanced saline–alkali resistance and drought resistance at the seedling stage. In conclusion, the functions of the two variable spliceosomes of the NST1 gene are very different under abiotic stress. Therefore, this study verified the function of the variable spliceosome of NST1 and improved the stress resistance of the chrysanthemum plant under examination by regulating the expression of the NST protein, which lays a material foundation for the improvement of plant stress resistance materials and has important significance for the study of the resistance of chrysanthemum plants to abiotic stress. We study universal properties of the torus partition function of T T ¯ -deformed CFTs under the assumption of modular invariance, for both the original version, referred to as the double-trace version in this paper, and the single-trace version defined as the symmetric product orbifold of double-trace T T ¯ -deformed CFTs. In the double-trace case, we specify sparseness conditions for the light states for which the partition function at low temperatures is dominated by the vacuum when the central charge of the undeformed CFT is large. Using modular invariance, this implies a universal density of high energy states, in analogy with the behavior of holographic CFTs. For the single-trace T T ¯ deformation, we show that modular invariance implies that the torus partition function can be written in terms of the untwisted partition function and its modular images, the latter of which can be obtained from the action of a generalized Hecke operator. The partition function and the energy of twisted states match holographic calculations in previous literature, thus providing further evidence for the conjectured holographic correspondence. In addition, we show that the single-trace partition function is universal when the central charge of the undeformed CFT is large, without needing to assume a sparse density of light states. Background: Collagens are the most abundant proteins in extra cellular matrix and important components of tumor microenvironment. Recent studies have showed that aberrant expression of collagens can influence tumor cell behaviors. However, their roles in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are poorly understood. Methods: In this study, we screened all 44 collagen members in HCC using whole transcriptome sequencing data from the public datasets, and collagen type IV alpha1 chain (COL4A1) was identified as most significantly differential expressed gene. Expression of COL4A1 was detected in HCC samples by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Finally, functions and potential mechanisms of COL4A1 were explored in HCC progression. Results: COL4A1 is the most significantly overexpressed collagen gene in HCC. Upregulation of COL4A1 facilitates the proliferation, migration and invasion of HCC cells through FAK-Src signaling. Expression of COL4A1 is upregulated by RUNX1 in HCC. HCC cells with high COL4A1 expression are sensitive to the treatment with FAK or Src inhibitor. Conclusion: COL4A1 facilitates growth and metastasis in HCC via activation of FAK-Src signaling. High level of COL4A1 may be a potential biomarker for diagnosis and treatment with FAK or Src inhibitor for HCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Herein, we for the first time report an acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-free colorimetric method for the detection of chlorpyrifos (CP), which is based on the oxidation reaction of HO with CP and 2,2′-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) catalyzed by hemin/G-quadruplex DNAzyme. In the absence of CP, ABTS is directly oxidized by HO with hemin/G-quadruplex DNAzyme as a biocatalyst to produce the blue-green-colored free radical anion (ABTS), accompanied with an obvious UV-visible absorbance at 418 nm. However, the amount of HO used in HO-DNAzyme-ABTS system will be decreased if CP is first reacted with HO, leading to the decrease of the amount of ABTS and a change in the UV-visible absorbance of ABTS at 418 nm. Thus, an indirect dependence relation between CP concentration and the absorbance of ABTS at 418 nm could be constructed and used for CP detection. Under optimal conditions, the detection range of the method is 0.04-1 μg/mL, with a detection limit of 0.01 μg/mL. Application of the method in real juice samples shows good analytical features in terms of recoveries (95-107.5 %), the relative standard deviation (RSD) (0.6-4.7 %), rendering it as an attractive candidate to current methodologies for the determination of CP.
