- Abstract
Although the history of translation and its iconography mostly convey to us a vision of translation as an individual and solitary activity (Monti, 2018, p. 9), in Canada, which is officially bilingual and multicultural at the federal level, the practice of literary translation has recently increasingly taken collective forms. In the following paper, the analysis will be based on two examples of a collaboration between literary translator Arianne Des Rochers with Natasha Kanapé-Fontaine (for the book Islands of Decolonial Love/Cartographie de l’amour décolonial) and with Édith Bélanger (for the book A Short History of the Blockade/Une brève histoire des barricades), the two works written in English by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, a leading figure in Canada’s Aboriginal resurgence. The paper attempts to introduce Polish readers to a theory presented by the American literary scholar Margaret Freeman in her recent book, The Poem as Icon (2020). In the monograph, Freeman analyzes ways in which the reader experiences reality - both visible and invisible - through poetry. Her fundamental assumption is that the relevant research question is not what literary art is, but how it comes to be what it is. The purpose of the present paper is to show that, although written by a literary scholar, the monograph corresponds to general tendencies that can be seen in contemporary humanities: in cognitive linguistics (in particular, Leonard Talmy's theory of -ception and George Lakoff's cognitive theory of metaphor), in the theory of linguistic picture of the world, or in discourse analysis. All these disciplines are based upon the assumption that the essence of the world is continuous change, and they investigate linguistic expressions in the process of becoming, which is relative to factors traditionally considered as non-linguistic. Freeman's poetic cognition has a wide scope: it embraces cognitive processes of human mind, but also bodily and emotive cognition. Thus poetic cognition is embodied, and in Freemen's theory a "poem-as-icon" ultimately becomes an illusion of the "here-and-now" direst experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The problem of interaction between man and nature throughout history is, relatively, rarely addressed by classical historiography. The session entitled Man and Nature: Between destruction and creation, organized and chaired by Prof. Tadeusz Janicki (Faculty of History, UAM, Poznań, Poland) and Prof. Dariusz J. Gwiazdowicz (Department of Forest Protection, Poznań University of Life Sciences, Poland) on 24 August 2022 as part of the XXIII International Congress of Historical Sciences Poznań 2022, was an attempt to change this tendency and broaden the existing research perspective. The papers delivered during the occassion were the starting point for the preparation of a special issue of the journal Studia Historiae Oeconomicae (SHO), the primary purpose of which is interdisciplinary reflection by specialists from various scientific disciplines on the problem of destruction of natural landscapes and creation of cultural landscapes, along with other issues concerning the interaction between humans and the natural environment from prehistoric times to the present. This special issue of SHO consists of seven articles on diverse topics, analysing human interactions with nature through different historical periods, meanwhile taking into account their economic, civil, social and climatic conditions. The result is a multifaceted mosaic of topics that constitutes an original and interdisciplinary analysis of man's relationship with nature, which may be a source of inspiration for readers and perhaps further research in this field. 7. Poker w świetle ustawy o grach hazardowych i regulacji Unii Europejskiej.

- Abstract
The authors of the paper undertook an analysis of the regulations on the organization of a poker game under the Gambling Act. The main subject of the analysis revolves around the question to what extent state authorities should monitor and restrict the activity of poker players. The scope of the statutory restrictions on arranging and participating in poker games depends on the culture of perception of gambling in a given country. Assigning poker to the appropriate regulatory category, either as a gambling activity carrying the highest social risks in terms of public health or safety, or as a game primarily for entertainment, is by no means obvious and depends on determining such factors as the purpose of organizing the poker game and the manner in which it is played, i.e. whether players are playing against a casino or against each other. The regulatory differentiation depending on the variety of poker games is the result of years of efforts by national legislators and the jurisprudence to define and categorize the game correctly. The article cites the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court justifying the formal and material prerequisites of the existing restrictions on the gambling services market. The authors also relied on the extensive body of case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union explicating the permissibility of restrictions on freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services in the sphere of gambling. The conclusions drawn from these reflections confirm that the current provisions of the Polish Gambling Act are part of a consistent and systematic state policy aimed at ensuring the highest possible level of consumer protection, and the introduced restrictions are proportionate and necessary. - Abstract
The paper discusses the problem of overabundance in third-conjugation Italian verbs. It provides a detailed diachronic analysis of grammar compilations to examine how verbs with a dual inflectional paradigm were described and how their usage has changed over the centuries. Extensive research into 59 grammar books intended for both native speakers and foreigners published in Italy and abroad form the 16th to the 19th century has shown that overabundance in the third conjugation was mentioned already in the earliest works of this type. Over time the interest in the topic grew even further as scholars explored its various aspects. The reconstruction of grammatical practice throughout centuries has uncovered the evolution of some verbs and their trajectory. In particular, it was possible to trace the development of: 1) verbs whose alternative, stylistically marked, form has become obsolete and exists only as an -isco form in modern Italian (ferire, languire, patire, perire, tradire); 2) verbs whose usage was unstable over centuries, with one form or the other predominating intermittently, until only one remained in use (tossire); and 3) verbs that have maintained a dual inflectional paradigm for the whole analysed period (aborrire, applaudire, assorbire, avvertire, inghiottire, mentire and nutrire). The article focuses on the specificity and functions of metaphors in the poetry of Radosław Jurczak, and more broadly in the work of the youngest poets, for whom life in the world of digital media and the prospect of the development of artificial intelligence is an important part of their formative experience. The paper uses the terms introduced by Mark Fisher for this purpose: the weird and the eerie. The analysis compares poetic devices in Jurczak's poems with the concept of poetic language of the first avant-garde, pointing out the changes occurring in the poetics and aesthetics of the works, also focusing on figures relating to the technological sphere of modernity. The paper polemizes with the view expressed by Jerzy Jarzębski, who considers the phrase "artificial intelligence" to be a fashionable and harmful oxymoron that defines the pragmatic, reductionist worldview of its users. The article argues that the incorporation of terms that have the status of catachreses and over-lexicalized metaphors in everyday language into the language of poetry allows their creative potential and ambiguity to be recovered. Finally, the paper considers scaling as a characteristic feature of the new poetic imagination, which also requires readers to take a new approach to the language of the new poetry. The author of the article analyzes Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, focusing her attention on the relationship between the key motif of the novel - gaming - and the tendency to militarize and colonize outer space highlighted by astrocultural scholars. Card's novel follows the astrocultural pattern of setting future wars in space, but introduces an important novelty: games of various kinds, including video games, become a mediating element between the characters and the real experience of space war. The theoretical framework for the analysis is provided by the insights of astrocultural scholars such as Alexander Geppert, Tilmann Siebeneichner and Alice Gorman. In analyzing Ender's Game and, to some extent, its 2013 film adaptation, the author examines the protagonists' relationship to space, which is shaped by the game's setting. It is here that military and colonial themes are most prevalent. The first part of the paper presents the main contexts of the motif of the militarization of outer space and its close relationship with video games. These contexts provide an important background for the analysis of the motifs of games and outer space in Ender's Game. Selected reflections from the field of ludology are helpful in interpreting Card's use of video games not only as a theme, but also as a structural principle of his novel's settings. In the last part of the paper, the author considers the transformation of the militant motif taking place in the novel's finale into a narrative focused on the colonization of outer space, as well as the transformation of this narrative that occurred in Gavin Hood's film adaptation. The goal of such an interpretation is to show the story created by Orson Scott Card as entangled in a dynamic relationship with the video game medium that was developing at the time of its creation and with the changing trends of astroculture. FILMMAKING ,MEDIA studies ,MEMOIRS ,LITERATURE ,EMPIRICAL research ,FILM adaptations - Abstract
The relationships between feature film and literature are typically conceptualized from the perspective of film adaptations. Although numerous shared points between them are noticeable, typically feature films are not treated as literary works tout court. The paper focuses on the difference between the medium and literature, which allows us to look at any feature film as literature in the film medium. "Empirical media studies" (U. Saxer, W. Faulstich) provides the methodological foundation for the paper, and three representative examples are discussed. The first two are extremely different from each other: a feature film preceding a novel (Alien by R. Scott and Alien by A.D. Foster), and the opposite variant, i.e. a feature film based on a novel in the book medium (Barry Lyndon by S. Kubrick and The Memoirs of Barry Lyndon by W.M. Thackeray). The third example (Love Story by A. Hiller and Love Story by E. Segal) is intermediate: the feature film and the novel were released at the same time (Segal wrote the novel based on his own scenario during the production of the film). The examples analyzed, together with theoretical considerations, show that it is not the so-called "language of film" that makes a film a work of art, but its "literary-logical continuum" (Faulstich), which supports the thesis that all literature is mediated, and that traditional considerations regarding film adaptation should include the issue of literary media to a greater extent. This paper examines the phenomenon of child and youth labour in the post-Stalin era in the Soviet Union. The starting point for the consideration constitutes the analysis of the law adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1958 titled "On the strengthening of the link between school and life and the further development of people's education in the USSR". This law placed great emphasis on combining education with practice and involving pupils from the earliest grades in various forms of both productive and socially useful labour. Subsequently, four categories of labour to which children and young people in the USSR were systemically forced has been distinguished. These included: occasional labours, work and leisure camps, so-called subbotniki and little communal works, as well as compulsory recycling. The paper thoroughly depicts all of them in the light of memoir material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PRICE inflation ,ROBUST statistics ,INTEREST rates ,ECONOMIC equilibrium - Abstract
This study explores the dynamic relationships among key macroeconomic variables influencing inflation in India from 1981 to 2021. Utilizing a comprehensive empirical approach, the research employs the Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) model to analyse both short-term and long-term effects of variables such as money supply (M3), GDP growth rate, international oil prices, exchange rates, current account balance, and lending interest rates on inflation. The methodology includes stationarity tests to ensure the robustness of the time series data, followed by cointegration tests to confirm the long-run relationships among the variables. Additionally, the Quantile ARDL model examines these variables' impact across different inflation distribution quantiles, providing a more nuanced understanding of their effects. The findings highlight significant positive and negative relationships between these variables and inflation, depending on their lag periods. Notably, the results reveal that money supply and international oil prices play critical roles in shaping inflationary trends, with both direct and lagged effects. The study also identifies that GDP growth generally negatively influences inflation, suggesting that higher economic growth may not necessarily lead to inflationary pressures in the Indian context. The mixed effects of exchange rates on inflation further underscore the complexity of managing inflation in a volatile global environment. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that includes flexible monetary policy, effective exchange rate management, and strategies to reduce dependency on imported goods to mitigate external shocks. These findings offer a comprehensive understanding of the determinants of inflation in India, contributing to formulating evidence-based policies for economic stability and growth. - Abstract
The subject of interest in the paper is the comic book biography The Life of Pope John Paul II. In the 1980s, John Paul II was not only treated as the head of the Catholic Church, but held a place in popular culture. The article points out that the Marvel comic book was one of the works that positioned the Pope within an axiological community of superheroes who, in the most general perspective, showed what a life full of heroism should look like. Thus, the paper analyses the elements of the superhero rhetorical model and features typical of the comic medium that highlight the uniqueness of John Paul II’s biography. Furthermore, to fully reveal the persuasiveness of the creative solutions employed in this work, situating the Pope between a man and a superhero, the author refers to the analytical propositions of Roland Barthes and Michał Rusinek concerning the rhetoric of visual representations. NUCLEAR industry safety ,NUCLEAR industry ,EUROPEAN Union law - Abstract
This paper focuses on a highly specialized field of law, namely nuclear law. This is characterized, on the one hand, by strong national competences and the primary position of national law, but also, on the other hand, by the international dimension, which has a major impact on national law. For a European Union Member State, the picture is even more wide-ranging, as European Union law, in this case the Euratom Treaty, adds another important layer to the legal-regulatory framework in the nuclear energy sector. The point of departure for this paper is therefore that of an EU Member State, which in nuclear energy issues functions in a legal field consisting of three interdependent main elements - national law, European Union law and international law. Thus, the article seeks to answer the question of which of these three legal systems is the primary one for an EU Member State in the area of nuclear safety, and also to shed light on their interrelationships. he theoretical framework for this analysis aimed at systematization is Hans Kelsen's classical theory of legal systems. The argument presented here is that for an EU Member State the primary legal system from a legal-hierarchical point of view is the legal system composed of EU law. This is the case mainly because the EU has competence in the area of nuclear safety, albeit shared with the EU Member States. Although the EU/Euratom has not yet significantly expanded regulation in this field, this will most likely change as EU energy policy and legislation develops further in the future. This evolution will most likely have both legislative and enforcement impacts, despite the fact that the substantive content of legislation on all three levels is quite similar. In spite of this, the three legal systems co-exist in constant interaction and without major collisions. Kelsen's perspective can prove beneficial for understanding the boundaries of the three interdependent legal systems and the shift of the basic norm towards EU law over the past two decades. In this paper, we use qualitative research data to explore the phenomenon of the boundaryless work-life interface during the COVID-19 pandemic as perceived by working parents. We define a boundaryless work-life interface as the weak or virtually absent boundary between work and life domains. We look closer at the relations between space, time, emotions, roles and the boundaryless work-life interface among working parents. The first two subsections introduce the linkages between the boundaryless work-life interface, focusing primarily on time and space in what we call 'collapsed role boundaries'. The second subsection examines the issues related to mental and emotional tensions the perceived boundarylesness has caused during the pandemic. The paper's final subsection provides a summary with interpretations and conclusions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper discusses the issue of new philology in the context of the project of Stanisław Wyspiański's Digital Archive. Inspired by projects by Jerome McGann and John Bryant (Rossetti Archive and Melville Electronic Library), the author considers the motivations behind and the benefits of such a venture. Wyspiański's multimediality and dynamicity of the creative process suspending finality encourage the use of digital tools in academic research and educational activities related to his works. An analysis of Wyspiański's creative process - a writer, painter, man of the theater - can reveal a complex, heterogenous simultaneity of his artistic activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to revise previous findings concerning lines 406–430 of Seneca’s Phaedra. Referring to the manuscript tradition, it demonstrates that the heading before 406 and the marginal notation used to identify speaking characters may have been misinterpreted as a result of this notation having been erased from codex Etruscus, the main representative of one of the two branches of the manuscript tradition of Seneca’s plays. Next, it argues that because of the formal consistency of this codex reading (E) – as contrasted with the inconsistencies in A – and the fact that E makes satisfactory sense here, the reconstructed reading of Etruscus should be taken into consideration in future editions of Seneca’s drama. A pandemic like the COVID-19 has caught everyone off-guard. The economy is in tatters, and the loopholes in the system are getting exposed. The education sector is no exception, especially in a developing country like India. With millions of students in India, the lockdown will have many unforeseen impacts. Moreover, the parents would be reluctant to send their wards to study even after the pandemic, and the actual effect of a lag in learning would be visible only in the long run. The necessity of e-learning in academia was felt only when the pandemic hit. The lack of ICT infrastructure and the absence of tech-savvy teachers have made studies an absolute roller-coaster ride for students. Apart from this, the already existing disparity between students from different economic strata would very likely broaden. Homebound is another factor affecting the students' psychology towards study. This paper ventures into the problems faced by the students, especially from economic, infrastructural and psychological factors, ranging from primary to University level. It also attempts to segregate the students based on location and financial condition and understand the specific hindrances they face. Case studies from various locations of Assam provide a cluster of stories that would act as an index in developing the system when time is 'conducive'. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Polish common court system was established after 1945 in the Lubusz Land and it was not a topic of in-depth considerations for historians and legal historians for a long time afterwards. However, the last decade has brought about a significant change in this respect. Numerous texts have been published on the history of the post-war common court system in the Lubusz Land, which are primarily devoted to the organization of the judiciary, legal decisions in criminal cases, and personnel. - Abstract
Land and regional charters were diplomas used in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (mainly in the second half of the 15th century and in the first half of the 16th century) by means of which rights were granted to the residents of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and its regions. The paper examines the ritualistic features of such diplomas, i.e. the narrative concerning the role of charters in the ritual and the rituals associated with the granting of a diploma. The narrative concerning the granting of regional charters as a result of supposed collective requests from the local population is characterized in the article as well as the narrative created by the grand-ducal chancellery concerning land grants. The rituals associated with these acts and their impact on the identity of the population are also examined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article is focused on the so-called urban texts related to Poland with a special emphasis on the historical and geographical region of Galicia, which covers the territories of Red Ruthenia in Ukraine and Lesser Poland, and on their historical connotations as presented in Boris Khersonsky's book of poetry Family archive (2006). Khersonsky is a Russian-speaking Ukrainian poet from Odesa, who has been awarded prestigious prizes for his literary work both in Ukraine and abroad. Family archive can be described as a sort of novel in verse about the tragic history of the 20th century told through the family history of the author himself. The main goal of this article is to analyze the specific spatial structure of the book in the context of geopoetics and places of memory with a special accent on Polish cities and towns. This territory is the quintessential locus of historical events connected to Eastern European Jewish heritage and the tragedy of the Holocaust. This paper seeks to reconstruct the image of Poland with all the connotations and cultural myths associated with its multicultural experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In 2021, the Polish Association of Economic History (PTHG) prepared and submitted to the 21st General Congress of Polish Historians – Białystok 2024, a panel entitled Saving the economy: reconstruction, stabilization and creating paths for the development of the Polish economy in the 19th and 20th centuries, which was accepted by the congress organizers. The main goal of the research undertaken is to analyze systemic actions to overcome crises in the 19th and 20th centuries, in particular the activity of the state and public institutions "helping the economy", the tools used and their effectiveness and long-term consequences. The events of the last three years, especially the Covid 19 pandemic, the War in Ukraine, and the energy crisis, have put the world economy once again on the threshold of a global crisis. In this context, scientific reflection on the tools and mechanisms of "saving the economy" and "creating development paths" may have not only a cognitive, but also a practical dimension. CHILD labor ,INCOME ,CHILDREN'S health ,INDUSTRIALIZATION ,STANDARD of living ,CAUSE of death statistics - Abstract
Child labour is a controversial issue both in presentday as well as in past societies. In historical perspective, studies focus on the factory labour of children during the industrialization process. On the one hand, its contribution to the family income is mentioned as a potential positive effect on the living standard of the whole family, on the other hand reference is made to the permanent health risks for children working in the factories. Using qualitative sources, there were contemporary testimonies supporting both views. The present paper, thererfore, uses a rather quantitive approach referring to the number of working days lost due to illness, anthropometric indicators such a height and weight, the results of draft examinations as well as mortality differences and cause-of-death rates from "accidents" in urban and rural areas during the nineteenth century. Available data do not provide clear evidence of direct harmful effects of child labour; many indications point to a neutral or even positive effect. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present paper attempts to see the women and child worker in the old city of Hyderabad in the Bangle industry. Women make up a sizable portion of India's labour force, yet they are paid less and have less secure jobs than men. As a result, many of these mothers choose to earn an income for their families by working from home. Women who work in the informal sector work with minimum pay and hence the girl child is an easy prey to assist the mother in supplementing the income and helping in the household chores so that more time is left to pursue the trade for an income. Our sample includes 100 women respondents and 150 girls. Being in the unregulated, home-based informal sector has made it challenging to organize the employees, leaving the bulk of bangle-makers in precarious positions both at work and at home. The increasing number of children, especially girls, who are taking part in the production of bangles is also a cause for alarm. It would appear that the piece rate method of payment and the fact that the work may be done from home encourage the participation of family members, including children, in the labour force. Nowadays we perceive child labour as a shameful torture and a wicked destruction of the natural order of things. After all, childhood is a time for carelessness, fun and schooling, and children are innocent and vulnerable. Nowadays people believe that these are primeval and natural rights, which is not true. There used to be two models of child labour which I present in my paper. Domestic work in the countryside and in cities, characteristic of the feudal economy at the time when a workplace and a place of residence were the same place (this is still the case in the countryside nowadays), and work outside home, for example in a factory, characteristic of the capitalist economy. There were also varied mixed forms. Thus, in the pre-modern period, rural children were already given to work on a lord's farm, to a rich farmer, or to serve in a city. Similarly, in modern times, children worked at home in domestic industries. The extensive use of child labour was first made possible by the lack of compulsory schooling, which in turn later prevented regular child labour. As long as there was an economic need, however, school had to give way to earning a living for one's family. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the cultural image of child and adolescent labour performed in the People's Republic of Poland in the years 1948–1989 as was presented in the literary fiction addressed to the young people. During the Stalinist period, literature officially condemned child labour on individual farms, but affirmed the labour of adolescent workers in state industry and construction. After the 1956 Thaw, the subject matter of labour was receding into the background, for several reasons. Nevertheless, the post-1956 youth literature also featured labour-related themes: community works, school cooperatives, work in family crafts, tutoring, and shady trade. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is a common knowledge that a gap continues to exist between the males and females in occupational, educational and general career aspirations as a result of socio-cultural stereotypes which imposes a serious limitation not only to the effort of women empowerment but also on their contribution to national development. In Nigeria, the case is not different. However, in attempt to teach Business Education courses in the classroom, we have become aware of gender differences among Business Educators in their interests to participate in real-life learning tasks required to become entrepreneurs and lifelong learners upon graduation. There is need examine the contributing factors to gender stereotype in Business Education and maximising the potential of education to change gender norms and the way forward. This paper used content analysis which explore the concept of Business Education, gender stereotype, gender stereotype in Business Education, the contributing factors to gender stereotype and maximising the potential of education to change gender norms. This study concluded that gender equity in Business Education is yet to achieve sustainable level due to cultural believes and norms such as tradition and culture, parents' attitude toward children business education, masculine image in business education, societal believe and social influence. The paper suggested among others that families are advised to always give to their daughters same treatment given to their sons by reintroducing roles among both sexes at the home front, also, cultural and unscientific beliefs like the fable that educated women are proud, domineering submissive and therefore incapable of being good wives should be exposed through sensitization campaigns by all stakeholders including women themselves. Instead of remaining a tool in the hands of men, women should think seriously and work towards positive achievements in the society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

African oral tradition and literature has been relegated to the background and termed inferior because it is erroneously misconceived by the West whose written culture and civilization is presumably superior. African writers have to mobilize their intellectual energy to disprove the West by enriching their writings, culture and heritage. Again, the modern African nation especially the Nigerian nations' state is fraught with violence and injustice and therefore remains a dangerous place for creative writers, activists and investigative journalists who fictionalize realities and engage in human rights campaigns. The town crier is a character in a traditional stage that disseminates information by going around with a beaten gong. Can we assign the role of this town crier to contemporary writers, activists and journalists? This paper made enquiry into this question by following a qualitative research approach and by studying Naagbanton's writings, using Viktor Shklovsky's defamiliarisation technique as well as Susan Andt's reformist feminism. In the end, it discovered that the author has revived the African town crier culture and given it a modern outlook and the primordial town crier now has reincarnated in ace creative writers, activists and journalists who are the current advocates of information, equity and justice and who, for attesting to the truth, run great risks in the hand of state apparatus and machinery of violence like the police, the army and the State Security Services (SSS). The paper further discovered that the town crier motif in African culture now finds a new voice at the global setting in Naagbanton's works, taking both male and female gender, and that most exponents of justice, truth and equity are masked town criers. It recommends that aspects of African ancient culture should be rehabilitated to meet new trends and modern universal standards. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper discusses the letter exchange between Maria von Herbert and Immanuel Kant as an early example of fan mail. While the past research on Herbert described her as a sharp but underappreciated philosopher, in this paper she is treated primarily as a fangirl. The article discusses her correspondence with Kant (and Kant's correspondence about her exchanged with others), her use of religious language as best means of conveying her fascination with an inaccessible celebrity, the parasocial interaction of these two, and the manner in which a hysterical discourse has been imposed on the young woman, not unlike the fate of contemporary fangirls. This paper investigates the topic of teacher-teaching assistant collaboration in supporting pupils who are at risk of school failure. This topic was addressed, as one of the subtopics, by a longitudinal research study investigating the causes of school failure/success among primary school pupils in the Czech Republic. The aim of the present study is to describe the activities that teaching assistants pursue in relation to "at-risk" pupils or in relation to other pupils in the classroom. The descriptive part of the paper also reviews various forms of teacher-teaching assistant collaboration during the teaching process. This empirical study consists of two parts. In the theoretical introduction, we describe the system of support and advisory services used to implement inclusive education in Czech schools. We also describe the legislative definition of the teaching assistant position and present his/her job description. The empirical part of the paper presents the conclusions of our research survey, which captures how teaching assistance is currently practiced in Czech primary education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The article reflects on the issue of the research method in public economic law. In the first part, the concept of science is explained, which can be understood as a process consisting in the systematised pursuit of knowledge of the truth for idealistic or utilitarian purposes. The starting point is K. Jaspers' definition, according to which the concept of science contains three elements: methodical cognition (1), certainty of knowledge (2), universal validity (3). Each of the elements indicated is then considered. Methodical cognition is to be distinguished from thought. The former is cognition of reality presupposing an awareness of the research method and its limitations. The latter is driven by intuition. The use of the method should be strongly linked to the research objective. The author then refers to the second defining element: certainty in the science of law. In his view, certainty is sought in answers to questions about the content of the law in force. Secondly, certainty is sought in the criteria evaluating the law and the results of this evaluation. The third element, i.e. universal validity, is related to the generally accepted methods of interpretation and the fundaments of law lying in human rights and the human dignity that is their source. The second part of the paper focuses on defining the research objective and the adequacy of the method, referring to the dogmatic, historical and comparative methods that should aim at determination the law in force and its evaluation. In the third part of the article, a proposal for a research method in public economic law is presented, which consists of three elements: presenting the context of the research objective, applying the dogmatic method, and evaluating the law in force. In the last part, attention is drawn to the need for uprightness of life, and therefore ethos, as a condition for the ability to recognize what is just. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
