The article reports on the $1.1 trillion recovery plan proposed by the leaders of the world's 20 biggest economies to rescue the world economy at the G20 summit on April 2, 2009 in London, England. It states that the rescue package will include $850 billion of resources that will be channelled through global financial institutions to support the growth of emerging market and developing countries. Moreover, the allocations include lending increase of $100 billion by multilateral development banks, $50 billion for social protection and $6 billion for the world's poorest counties.
