Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. Objective: To determine frequencies of causes and renal outcomes of pregnancy related acute kidney injury. Method: This descriptive case series study was conducted in Nephrology unit of a tertiary care hospital of Peshawar, from 1st August 2021 to 31st July 2022.A total of 100 patients with acute kidney injury secondary to obstetric conditions were enrolled via non-probability consecutive sampling technique. While patients with pre-existing renal disease, those with renal stones, or having bilateral small kidneys on ultrasound were excluded from the study. Patients were followed till 12 weeks postpartum period. Underlying obstetrical causes and outcome at 12 weeks postnatal period were determined. Results: The mean age of sample of 100 cases was 29.29 ± 6.45. Mean serum creatinine at presentation was 6.5± 3.13. Majority of patient, 89% were multigravidas. Seventy eight percent patients required hemodialysis. Primary postpartum hemorrhage remained the commonest underlying cause of pregnancy related acute kidney injury in this study. The frequency of persistent renal failure in Pr-AKI (pregnancy related acute kidney injury) in this study was 14%. In about 66% of cases complete recovery occurred. All the underlying obstetrical causes, when adjusted for age, gravidity, place and mode of delivery, had no association with persistent renal failure. Conclusion: Primary postpartum hemorrhage is the predominant cause of pregnancy related acute kidney injury. Coral reefs are highly diverse and productive ecosystem in the ocean that provides various goods services to human and environment. Located within the renowned 'Coral Triangle' region, Malaysia is one the thriving countries in Southeast Asia that possess rich marine resources and coral reefs. Like other coral reef around the world, coral reefs in Malaysia are exposed to multiple threat that jeopardize their well-being. Those relying on these ecosystems may face severe consequences if they are lost. In recent decades, research on characterizing modern coral reefs has increased in Malaysia, including identifying key species and their distribution, understanding the factors that control coral growth and assessing the impacts of environmental stressors on reef health. This study is aimed to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge of modern coral characterization studies conducted in Malaysia. It presents the distribution maps of these coral reef studies conducted throughout Malaysia and discusses the techniques employed to characterize them. Most of the studies was conducted in South China Sea, particularly in East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia with Tioman Island, Pahang being identified as having the greatest number of studies. And, visual assessment have the higher frequency of use in characterizing Malaysia coral reef. Going forward, future studies in Malaysia should continue to explore others Malaysia reef, and techniques for characterizing coral reefs, while also conduct more studies in locations with limited research. Background: BRCA1 and BRCA2 (BRCA1/2) are the most frequently investigated genes among Caucasian pancreatic cancer patients, whereas limited reports are available among Asians. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of BRCA1/2 germline variants in Pakistani pancreatic cancer patients. Methods: One hundred and fifty unselected and prospectively enrolled pancreatic cancer patients were comprehensively screened for BRCA1/2 germline variants using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution melting analyses, followed by DNA sequencing of the variant fragments. The novel variants were analyzed for their pathogenic effect using in-silico tools. Potentially functional variants were further screened in 200 cancer-free controls. Results: Protein truncating variant was detected in BRCA2 only, with a prevalence of 0.7% (1/150). A frameshift BRCA2 variant (p.Asp946Ilefs*14) was identified in a 71-year-old male patient of Pathan ethnicity, with a family history of abdominal cancer. Additionally, we found a novel variant in BRCA2 (p.Glu2650Gln), two previously reported variants in BRCA1 (p.Thr293Ser) and BRCA2 (p.Ile2296Leu) and a recurrent nonsense variant in BRCA2 (p.Lys3326Ter). These variants were classified as variants of uncertain significance (VUS). It is noteworthy that none of these VUS carriers had a family history of pancreatic or other cancers. Conclusions: In this first study, BRCA1/2 pathogenic variant is identified with a low frequency in pancreatic cancer patients from Pakistan. Objective: The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-18 (DERS-18) is an instrument used to measure deficits in emotion regulation. However, the instrument has not been adapted to Malaysians and has never been validated in the Malay language. This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Malay version of DERS-18. Method: The DERS-18 underwent forward-backward translation and assessment of face and content validity. Both Malay version of the DERS-18 and DASS-21 were completed by 701 adolescents (44.4% boys) aged 13 and 14 years old. To assess its dependability, a floor and ceiling effect evaluation and Cronbach's analysis were both performed. A series of confirmatory factor analyses (CFA), bivariate correlation, and regression were performed to evaluate the construct and criterion validity, respectively. Results: The Malay version of DERS-18, after excluding "Awareness", indicated excellent reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.93), and acceptable internal consistency for each subscale (range of α from 0.63 to 0.82). Floor or ceiling effects were observed at item level and subscale level, but not at total level. CFA results revealed that the Malay version of the DERS-18 bifactor model (excluding "Awareness") portrayed the best construct validity (χ2/df = 2.673, RMSEA = 0.049, CFI = 0.977, TLI = 0.968) compared to a single factor, a correlated factor, and a higher-order factor model. The DERS-18 subscales (except "Awareness") and DERS-18 total scores were significantly correlated with stress, anxiety, and depression in a positive direction (r ranged from 0.62 to 0.64, p < 0.01). The general factor of the DERS-18 and its specific factors ("Clarity", "Goals", and "Non-Acceptance") significantly predicted the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression (R2 ranged from 0.44 to 0.46, p < 0.001). Conclusion: The Malay version of the DERS-18, excluding "Awareness", possessed good reliability, construct validity, and criterion validity to assess emotion dysregulation among Malaysian adolescents. This article examines the stance held by a Meccan-Indonesian exegete in the 13 AH or 19 AD century, Muḥammad Nawawī al-Bantānī (d. 1230–1314 H/1813–1897 AD), in dealing with Ṣifāt verses in his exegetical work, Marāḥ Labīd li Kashf Ma'nā al-Qur'ān al-Majīd. As an established term, Ṣifāt verses refer to Quranic expressions that ostensibly ascribe anthropomorphic dimensions to God. Interpretation of such ambiguous verses has been bitterly contended since the 2/8th century and remains one of the most debated topics in the pre- and postmodern era. This study applies literature and document analysis focused on many of al-Bantānī's works. The results show that al-Bantānī actively applied ta'wīl [figurative interpretation] in dealing with Ṣifāt verses without totally discarding amodality position [ tafwīḍ ]. Contribution: Although al-Bantānī never mentioned Wahhabism in any of his works, his interpretation of Ṣifat verses alludes to his indirect response to the Wahhabi's literalism and anti- ta'wīl approach. In addition, by accepting both of ta'wīl and tafwīḍ solutions, al-Bantānī underpinned the wasaṭī [moderate] stand, which later became the most distinctive tradition in Malay–Islamic discourse. This work aimed to investigate, for the first time, the chemical composition and cytotoxicity of Dillenia reticulata King's essential oil. The essential oil was obtained through hydrodistillation, and its volatile components were analyzed through gas chromatography (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques. Twelve components, which constitutes more than 99.49% of oil content, were successfully identified. The most prominent components were bicyclogermacrene (44.18%), germacrene D (14.49%), β-gurjunene (12.59%), and elemol (12.25%). The cytotoxicity of essential oil was evaluated using an MTT assay. The essential oil exhibited cytotoxicity against three cancer cell lines which are HepG2, MCF7 and A549 with the IC50 values ranging from 61.5-68.5 μg/mL. The present study highlights the potential of using essential oil as an alternative for the development of chemopreventive or cosmetic agents for the pharmaceutical industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The basic Helix-Loop-Helix (bHLH) superfamily is the most widespread family of transcription factors in eukaryotic organisms, which can activate the expression of genes by interacting with specific promoters in the genes. The bHLH transcription factors direct the development and metabolic process of plants, including flowering initiation and secondary metabolite production, by attaching to specific sites on their promoters. These transcription factors are essential for encouraging plant tolerance or the adjustment to harsh environmental conditions. The involvement of bHLH genes in anthocyanin formation in fleshy fruit-bearing plants, as well as the role of these genes in response to stimuli including drought, salt, and cold stress, are discussed in this article. New concepts and goals for the production of stress--tolerant fruit species are suggested. Furthermore, solid evidence for the critical role of bHLH genes in the growth and development, as well as anthocyanin biosynthesis in fleshy fruit plants, are also presented in this article. This review identifies several future research directions that can shed light on the roles of bHLH genes in fruit-bearing plants and will assist the use of these genes in efforts to breed fruit crop varieties that are more resistant to stress. Generally, there has been little research carried out on the role of bHLHs transcription factor family genes in fleshy fruit-bearing plant species and more in-depth studies are required to fully understand the diverse role of bHLH genes in these species. Background: Incision for surgical procedures has been given by scalpel blades since long, but in recent modern era electrocautery is also favored by many surgeons. The aim of this study was to compare electrocautry versus scalpel incisions in elective midline laparotomies in terms of per operative incision timings, post-operative pain, blood loss and wound infection in population of Peshawar Pakistan. Materials & Methods: This was Quasi experimental study conducted in Department of General Surgery MTI Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, KP from Jan 2021 to Oct 2021. Total 100 patients of elective laparotomy were included. Inclusion criteria were all male/female adults' patients without Diabetes and bleeding disorders. Patients were randomly assigned in two groups by lottery method. Group A (50 patients) underwent incision with scalpel while in group B (50 patients) incision was given by electrocautery at cutting mode. Data was analyzed by SPSS ver.23.0. Results: The mean age of patients in group A and B was 44.10 ± 13.14 and 48.06 ± 11.66 years respectively. Mean incision time in Group A was 3.87 ± 1.06 seconds while in group B it was 3.65 ± 1.40 seconds. Mean pain (VAS) in group A at 24 hours was 2.22 ± 0.54 and 1.62 ± 0.60 in group B (p value 0.000). Mean blood loss in group A was 2.94 ± 1.53 ml while in group B it was 1.66 ± 1.23ml (P value 0.001). Fifteen patients (30%) of group A and 6 patients (12%) of group B developed post-operative surgical site infection which was statistically significant (p value 0.02). Conclusion: We recommend use of electrocautery as a safe alternative to scalpel for skin incision. Incision with electrocautery has a significant advantage over scalpel as it causes little blood loss, significantly low postoperative pain and decreased chances of wound infections. Understanding the impacts and constraints of climate change on Ziziphus nummularia′s geographical distribution is crucial for its future sustainability. In this study, we analyze information obtained from the field investigation, the distribution and response of climatic changes of Ziziphus nummularia by the use of ArcGIS analysis. The genetic diversity of 180 genotypes from three populations was studied by morphological attributes and simple sequence repeat (SSR). The results showed that the significant bioclimatic variable limiting the distribution of Z. nummularia was the mean temperature (bio 10_18.tif and bio19). Under the current climatic change, the suitable growth region of Z. nummularia is Swat (35.22° N, 72.42° E), while the future distribution would be Buner (34.39° N, 72.61° E), respectively. A total of 11 phenotypic traits were noted and had significant phenotypic variation among the traits. A total of 120 alleles were amplified. The alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 6, averaging 4.42, whereas PIC ranged from 0.33 to 0.79. Within a mean value of 0.67 per locus, expected heterozygosity was 0.57, observed heterozygosity was 0.661, and average gene diversity was 0.49. Flow estimates (6.41) indicated frequent gene flow within genotypes. The clustering, STRUCTURE, and PCoA analysis indicated Swat and Buner migration routes and evolution as well. The results indicated the prevalence of genetic variability and relationships among Z. nummularia across geographical boundaries had retained unique alleles. This may facilitate the development of agronomically desirable cultivars. Geotechnical engineering design necessitates a study of soil parameters for calculation purposes. As a complement to the conventional method, a resistivity survey can give preliminary results in a short amount of time. This study uses a statistical analysis program to show a correlation and regression for predicting soil parameters based on the resistivity value. Sixty-six data points for each soil parameter and resistivity were used for statistical analysis from six profiles of the study area as a part of the investigation. The soils are sampled by drilling the borehole up to a depth of 3 meters. The Wenner array was applied to conduct a resistivity survey. The collected data were utilized to establish a correlation between resistivity (ρ) and soil parameters such as moisture content (w), clay content (clay), plasticity index (P I), friction angle (ϕ), bulk density (γ), and porosity (n). The generated statistic model was improved through several iterations for each correlation. For the ρ- w , ρ-clay, ρ-PI, ρ-ϕ, ρ-γ, and ρ-n relationship, the total iterations are 5, 4, 7, 6, 5, and 4 for each correlation, respectively. Resistivity and moisture content showed a significant power correlation, followed by a modest relationship between resistivity and porosity. Between resistivity and other parameters, relationships such as clay content, bulk density, friction angle, and plasticity index were found to have very weak or no association. However, some trends can be seen clearly. This study aims to offer the geotechnical engineer a quick preliminary way of obtaining the associated soil parameters for various geotechnical calculations employing the resistivity approach based on the developed numerical equation. Partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) is a pancreatic cancer (PC) susceptibility gene reported in Caucasians. However, limited data are available among Asians. We investigated the contribution of PALB2 germline variants to Pakistani PC patients. 150 unselected and prospectively enrolled PC patients were comprehensively screened for PALB2 variants, using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography and DNA sequencing. Novel variants were investigated for their pathogenic effect using in-silico tools. Potentially functional variants were screened in 200 controls. Twenty-two different PALB2 variants were identified. A missense variant (p.Arg37His) was identified in a 48-years-old male patient with a family history of breast cancer. Another missense variant (p.Trp898Arg) was identified in a 48-years-old male patient with a family history of esophageal cancer. A novel 3′ downstream variant (c.∗480A>G) was detected in a 34-years-old female patient with family history of lung cancer. Another novel 3′ downstream variant (c.∗417A>C) was identified in a 41-years-old male patient. All these variants were absent in 200 controls. p.Arg37His and p.Trp898Arg were predicted as likely pathogenic. c.∗417A>C and c.∗480A>G were classified as variants of uncertain significance. Background: With the increasing prevalence of obesity in youth, behavioural interventions to alter its modifiable risk factors such as physical activity can support the management of this epidemic. Digital behaviour changes interventions (DBCI) such as mobile applications, websites and wearables have the potential to reach many adolescents to promote physical activity as its use may be more accessible, effective and engaging compared to traditional face-to-face approaches. However, there is insufficient evidence on their use at promoting physical activity amongst overweight and obese adolescents. This review aims to assess the effectiveness of DBCIs aiming to increase physical activity in overweight and obese adolescents (aged 10–19 years) and the behaviour change techniques used in these interventions. Methods: Electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Cochrane and Scopus) will be searched for English language studies from January 2000 to December 2022 using appropriate search terms relating to digital interventions, physical activity, adolescents and obesity. Experimental studies (either randomised or non-randomised controlled trials) assessing effects of DBCIs on physical activity behaviour, objectively or subjectively measured, in overweight and obese (body mass index [BMI] ≥ 85th percentile for age) adolescents will be eligible for inclusion. Intervention characteristics will be coded using the Template for Intervention Description and Replication (TIDieR) checklist and the BCT taxonomy v1. Risk of bias and the overall quality of the included studies will be assessed using Cochrane's Collaboration's tool and GRADE approach respectively. If the data allows, meta-analyses using random effect models will be conducted to assess the effects of DBCIs on physical activity. Discussion: The proposed systematic review will summarise the effectiveness of digital behaviour change interventions aiming to increase physical activity in overweight and obese adolescents, as well as adding new information on the behaviour change techniques used in these interventions. The findings of this review will facilitate stakeholders with a current, rigorous and reliable research base to support the development and implementation of effective health promotion interventions for this population. We have used Bayesian Regularization Back Propagation based deep neural networks to analyze the flow and heat transfer behavior for the flow of a nanofluid (aluminum-oxide in kerosene oil) within a regenerative cooling channel in a rocket engine. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to the advancement of aerospace engineering by addressing the complex flow dynamics of nanofluids in rocket propulsion systems. The aim of this study is to analyze the behavior of a mixture of kerosene oil and aggregated/non-aggregated aluminum oxide nanoparticles, considering thermal radiation and viscous dissipation effects. The research methodology involves transforming primary equations into a dimensionless form using a similarity transformation technique and employing the bvp4c numerical computation method in MATLAB. The ANN-IBR method is trained, tested, and validated using reference datasets obtained from numerical computations to approximate flow solutions under various scenarios with different physical parameters. The conclusion of this study indicates that the proposed ANN-IBR model effectively addresses the flow of kerosene and nanoparticles within the rocket engine, demonstrating its accuracy through comparison with reference outcomes based on mean square error analysis, transition states examination, histograms analysis, and regression analysis. The purpose of this case study was to see the impacts of managing sibling relational problem on mild depressive disorder. This approach was applied on a 15-year-old girl, who has dyslexia. She was found to have mild depression for one year that was precipitated by her poor relationship with her younger sibling. The intervention used in managing this case was adapted from the Siblings Are Special Module, a special programme that helps to alleviate anger and frustration that siblings had on each other. These 5 session interventions also included leisure activities that helped them to overcome their ongoing conflicts and were conducted over 3 months period. Parents were involved in the last 2 sessions in order to promote positive parenting. She showed a marked improvement in her psychological wellbeing and family relationship especially with her siblings at the end of the intervention. In conclusion, the intervention used to improve sibling relationship has shown to be effective in improving the mental health of the adolescents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Canola (Brassica napus L.) is one of the economically important crops of Pakistan and mustard aphid, Lipaphis erysimi Kalt. (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a serious threat to this crop. This experiment was conducted with an aim to screen out selected canola cultivars for their tolerance against L. erysimi infestation under glasshouse conditions. Experiment was carried out using completely randomized design with ten replications for each treatment during growing seasons of 2018 and 2019. Data were documented based on the tolerance indices (TI) and proportional plant dry weight change (DWT) to identify tolerance of canola crop. Results revealed that commercial cultivar 'Zahoor' comparatively performed well despite higher number of aphids found on itas compared its other counterparts "Abaseen, Omega and KS-75" and hence, was identified as tolerant to mustard aphid. This cultivar also exhibited strong vigor against mustard aphid and minimal symptoms of damages were observed. The yield losses based on DWT and TI in susceptible cultivar "Abaseen" was 40.79%, whereas it was 23.56% in Zahoor which confirmed the reduced percent yield losses in the later genotype. This study identified "Zahoor" as the most tolerant cultivar to mustard aphid followed by KS-75 and Omega hence, other susceptible cultivars should be replaced by Zahoor to attain higher and sustainable yield production in canola. Ziziphus fruits have attracted much attention within the field of medicine due to their high potential against central nervous system disorders. Abundance of secondary metabolites and their composition is key to the pharmaceutical potential and commercial qualities of plants. The in vitro antioxidant activities of Ziziphus nummularia (Burm. f.) and Ziziphus oxyphylla Edgew fruit extract were analyzed using 2,2‐diphenil‐1‐pycrilhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′‐azino‐bis (3‐ethylbenzothiazoline)‐6‐sulfonic acid (ABTS) free radical scavenging assay methods. Phenolic profiles were explored using high‐performance liquid chromatography‐diode array detector (HPLC‐DAD). The result revealed high concentration of polyphenols and their antioxidant potential. In Z. nummularia, the total phenolic content (TPC) (80.270 ± 0.422 μg/ml), DPPH (62.03 ± 0.98 μg/ml), ABTS (66.32 ± 0.73 μg/ml), and TFC (90.683 ± 0.274 μg/ml) were recorded. However, in Z. oxyphylla, DPPH and ABTS values were 60.66 ± 0.56 μg/ml and 61.55 ± 0.77 μg/ml, respectively, indicative of the impacts of climate and soil nutrients. The overall screening of phytochemicals revealed that both the Ziziphus species contain diverse bioactive compounds, including spinacetine‐3‐O‐(2 feruloyl glucopyranosyl)‐glucopyranoside, kaempferol‐3‐O‐glucoside‐7‐O‐glucoside, and caffeic acid; p‐hydroxybenzoyl hexose, p‐coumaric acid, salicylic acid, and ellagic acid pentoxide. Additionally, the highest concentrated amino acid noted was of Lue 0.19 g/100 g with 596.00 retention time (RT), followed by Thr>Ale>Isl>Phya>Val in Z. nummularia. Similarly, the highest concentration of Lue amino acid was recorded as 0.18/100 g with 564.52 RT followed by Pr>Thr>Ale>Lue>Isl>Phya>Val in all genotypes of Z. oxyphylla. Reporting of polyphenols rich and stable species along with identification of favorable regions of cultivation for amino acid, polyphenols, and higher antioxidant potential may lead the way for the identification of elite clones of the species as well as may result in new drug discovery. Kikar wood and ash species grown in Quetta have been studied for their anatomical properties in order to find out wood quality improvement before their utilization for making various products. Permanent slides of cross, radial and tangential sections were prepared, observed under the microscope and data were collected for the frequency and dimensional measurement of different wood elements/structures in each wood species. On the basis of results it was observed that Kikar wood may be better or medium in strength due to longer, thick-walled or narrow lumen fibers. In this study kikar locally grown wood species have been evaluated for their basic anatomical properties, in order to find out measures for wood quality improvement before their utilization for making various products. Further, the proposed study will introduce integrated uses of the studied kikar wood species extend the base of raw material for wood based industries result indicate that ash wood grown in Quetta are good in strength and hardness. The frequency of wood rays both in cross and tangential sections was found greater in Ash wood grown in Quetta, Balochistan that indicates the wood is comparatively lower in resistance against decaying agents. OBJECTIVE: To determine the histological pattern of non-diabetic renal disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in the Nephrology department MTI Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar from January 2018 to January 2021. All type 2 diabetic patients with normal fundi were included in the study irrespective of time duration. A total of 30 patients were registered. Their biodata was entered in a prescribed proforma. Those having normal fundi were included in the study and were then exposed to renal biopsy. Those patients having diabetic retinal changes were excluded from the study. RESULTS: Out of 30 patients, males were 20 and females were 10 with a ratio of 2:1 with a mean age of 55.5±13.3SD years. Pure diabetic nephropathy (DN) was noted in 9 (30%) cases, Non-Diabetic Renal Disease (NDRD) in 13 (43.3%) cases, and NDRD on DN in 8 (26.7%) cases. Among the Non-Diabetic Renal Disease (NDRD), Membranous Glomerulonephritis (MGN) was present in 9 (30%) cases, Acute Tubular Necrosis (ATN) in 5 (16.6%) cases, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGN) in 4 (13.33%.) cases, Mesangiocapillary Glomerulonephritis (MCGN) in 2 (6.7%) cases and Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) in 1 (3.3%) cases. CONCLUSION: It was concluded from the study that the absence of diabetic retinopathy does not exclude diabetic nephropathy. To avoid infrared or thermal signatures of the fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle, the engine is encapsulated in a special cowling that limits the ventilation and causes thermal stress. The stressed condition heats up the engine and accelerates the degradation process compromising life and causing early failure. Fatigue life estimation can help to predict and prevent sudden failure and improve safety and reliability. The study presents a grey forecasting methodology for estimating the fatigue life of fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle engines operating under a stressed environment. Grey forecasting models are used for fatigue life estimation of the unmanned aerial vehicle engine using degradation data of output power for reliable flight hours (50 h). The result of grey forecasting models reveals that under normal operation, engine power drops to a threshold value of 9.4 kW (below this engine does not remain flight worthy) after 100 h. The forecasted life is in close agreement with the specification of the engine under normal operating conditions. This validates the accuracy of forecasting models. Furthermore, the forecast models are applied to estimate the fatigue life using degradation data in a stressed environment, which comes out to be 70 h. The study proposes application of grey forecasting to predict mechanical degradation and early failures by considering single or multiple parameters undergoing degradation and having limited data samples. Forecasting results are compared with other prediction tools like autoregressive–moving-average and found more accurate which shows the significance of grey forecasting models in a limited data sample environment. Background/aim: To explore the potential of the circulating plasma miRNA-21 as an early detection biomarker by comparing early-stage breast cancer (BG) and healthy control (HG) in Indonesian population. Materials and methods: The enlisted patients were 26 adult female early-stage breast cancer patients (stage 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B) of Airlangga University Hospital from August 2019 to October 2019. Sixteen volunteers were recruited as matching healthy subjects. MiRNA-21 expression was quantified by plasma qRT-PCR. Data analysis performed using IBM SPSS Statistics v.24 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). MiRNA-21 cut-off, sensitivity, and specificity were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results: The study included 26 BG and 16 HG subjects. The miRNA-21 expression in BG group was 3.933 (1.181-11.794) and 0.905 (0.164-4.532) in HG group (4.34 folds; P = 0.001), with 1.66 cut-off (92.3% sensitivity; 81.2% specificity). MiRNA-21 expression separated analysis in HG showed a 0.578 times lower expression in menopause subjects [0.651 (0.164-0.414)], compared to premenopause ones [(1.123 (0.758 - 4.532); P = 0.031]. Yet, in BG group, 1.729 times higher miRNA-21 expression was observed in menopause subjects (6.021 ± 3.583), compared to premenopause ones (3.500 ± 1.517; P = 0.022). Unplanned and unwanted pregnancy is a challenging life event, especially to young unmarried women in Malaysia as they often left unsupported. Using theory of resilience, this study aimed to explore challenges faced by noninstitutionalised young unmarried women who decided to keep their pregnancy. By understanding their challenges, we could recognise their main needs for planning of effective strategies and policies that can help them to cope better with their pregnancy and prepare for their future. This was a qualitative exploration study using a multiple-case study design. Five pregnant women recruited from two primary care clinics, aged 18 years and above, with different life experiences and at different trimester underwent in-depth interviews. Data was examined using thematic analysis and compared across the five cases. The main challenges during pregnancy faced by the unmarried women were: (1) avoiding social stigma, (2) having poor psychosocial support from family, and (3) preparing for future. They were worried about financial security, childcare, illegitimate status of their child, housing arrangement and stable employment. Thus, they need to be supported in these areas. Although these young women in the community appeared to be self-reliant, independent and strong minded, they need to be supported especially from their own family members, parents, peers, health care providers and organisation for a better future for them and their children. Background: The RecQ Like Helicase (RECQL) gene has previously been shown to predispose to breast cancer mainly in European populations, in particular to estrogen receptor (ER) and/or progesterone receptor (PR) positive tumor. Here, we investigated the contribution of pathogenic RECQL germline variants to hereditary breast cancer in early-onset and familial breast cancer patients from Pakistan. Methods: Comprehensive RECQL variant analysis was performed in 302 BRCA1 and BRCA2 negative patients with ER and/or PR positive breast tumors using denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography followed by DNA sequencing. Novel variants were classified using Sherloc guidelines. Results: One novel pathogenic protein-truncating variant (p.W75*) was identified in a 37-year-old familial breast cancer patient. The pathogenic variant frequencies were 0.3% (1/302) in early-onset and familial breast cancer patients and 0.8% (1/133) in familial patients. Further, three novel variants of unknown significance, p.I141F, p.S182S, and p.C475C, were identified in familial breast cancer patients at the age of 47, 68, and 47 respectively. Introduction: Thrombocytopenia is one of the numerous complications of malaria infection, which could be lethal if not diagnosed and managed on time. Our study aims to determine the occurrence of thrombocytopenia in patients hospitalized with malaria. Material and Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted between January 2016 till December 2019. Data was collected from the patient's record registers. A total of 201 cases were included in this study. Data was collected, entered, and analyzed in IBM SPSS 23 software package. Results: Out of the total 201 cases, 108 (53.7%) were males and 93 (46.3%) were females. 189 (94%) cases were suffering from P. vivax, 10 (5%) were suffering from P. falciparum, and cases suffering from both were only 2 (1%). Thrombocytopenia was present in 183 (91.04%) cases (95% confidence interval 2.13-2.37). 91.53% (n=173) of cases diagnosed with P. vivax had thrombocytopenia while 90% (n=9) cases diagnosed with P. falciparum had thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: We conclude from this study that, thrombocytopenia occurs in all species of malaria and is not a distinguishing feature between the principal types of malaria. OBJECTIVE: To estimate the frequency of depression among individuals presenting with lower limbs physical disability (LLPD). METHODS: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from July 2016 to January 2017 at Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar, Pakistan. A sample of 217 patients was enrolled through non-probability consecutive sampling technique. Participants of any age, both genders and having LLPD were included, while already diagnosed patients of depressive illness and/or patients using anti-depressant medications were excluded. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) scale was used in patients with LLPD. Statistical Analysis was done through SPSS-16.0. RESULTS: Out of 217 participants, 156 (71.88%) were males. Mean age was 41±12.368 years. Mean period of physical disability was 12±4.649 years. Mean PHQ-9 scores was 12±3.313. PHQ-9 score of <4 was observed in 128 (58.99%) patients while PHQ-9 score of >4 was present in 89 (41.01%) patients. Hence, frequency of depression among patients with LLPD was 41.01%. Male gender was predominant in both depressed (n=64/89; 71.9%) and non-depressed (92/128; 71.9%) patients. About 45% of both depressed (n=40/89) and non-depressed (n=58/128) patients were aging = 40 years. About 61.8% (n=55/89) of depressed and 62.5% (n=80/128) of non-depressed patients were married. Majority of depressed patients (n=44/89; 49.44%) and non-depressed patients (n=62/128; 48.44%) were from lower socioeconomic status (SES). Extent of physical disability of >10 years was present in 59.55% (n=53/89) and 60.16% (n=77/128) depressed and non-depressed patients respectively. Digital intervention has been shown to be helpful in improving perinatal mental health. However, the design characteristics of such interventions have not been systematically reviewed. Considering that a lack of support—especially from a partner—is one of the major contributing factors to perinatal depression and anxiety, it is crucial to determine whether digital interventions have included partner participation. In this review, we systematically examined the design characteristics of digital interventions related to perinatal depression and anxiety and aimed to determine whether partner participation was incorporated as part of the interventions. Based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, five databases (PubMed, EBSCO, Cochrane, ProQuest, and Scopus) were searched. Narrative results of design characteristics were developed to provide a framework for the design and evaluation of the studies. A total of 12 intervention studies from China, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Norway, and the United Kingdom were included. Across all studies, internet cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness therapy were overwhelmingly utilized as the major intervention approaches. While all studies reported reduced depressive symptoms after the intervention, only four studies reported subsequent decreased levels of both depressive and anxiety symptoms. Only one study included partner support in the intervention. Cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness therapy, two of the most common intervention approaches, were found to be effective in alleviating perinatal depression and anxiety. Objective: The aim of our study was to determine the most common cause of liver cirrhosis in district Buner. Material and Method: This was retrospective data review of patients record. Data was collected from patient's record register from January 2016 till December 2018. A total of 203 patients were included in this study. Data was collected and entered and analyzed in IBM SPSS 23. Results: Out of 203 cases, 135(66.5%) were males and 68 (33.5%) were females. The main cause of cirrhosis was HCV (n=163, 80.3%) and HBV (n=27, 13.3%). Cryptogenic cirrhosis occurred in 9 cases (4.4%) while others were only 1% (n=2). HCV positivity was more in males (n=108, 66.25%) than in females (n=55, 33.7%) with a p value .022. Conclusion: HCV is major cause of Liver Cirrhosis in our patients. The intricate dynamics of gender roles significantly shape emotion regulation (ER) among adolescents, underscoring the importance of understanding these assigned roles in comprehending adolescents' emotional experiences. This study aimed to investigate and analyze in detail the central aspects of disparities between genders in the utilization of ER strategies. The formulation of the hypotheses aimed to predict significant distinctions between boys and girls, particularly in cognitive reappraisal (CR) and expressive suppression (ES) strategies. A cross-sectional design was employed and implemented in 27 public secondary schools across 12 states in Malaysia. A total of 1,718 adolescents, both boys and girls who did not have any current or prior clinical issues became participants in this study. Using the Malay version of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ERQ-CA), the study's findings contradicted the proposed hypotheses. The findings showed no gender disparities in CR and ES. These findings provide valuable insights for parents, caregivers, teachers, and adolescents, offering a nuanced understanding of ER during the critical stages of adolescence. The implications of ER across genders may guide the development of targeted interventions to address potential gender disparities and mitigate the risk of psychopathological issues. Abstract: Primary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (PHO) is a congenital multisystemic entity characterized by three major clinical symptoms: pachydermia, periostosis, and digital clubbing. Recently it has been reported that pathogenic mutations in two genes are known to be associated with PHO: HPGD and SLCO2A1. In the present study, a five‐generation consanguineous Pakistani family harboring primary hypertrophic osteoarthropathy in autosomal‐recessive pattern was ascertained. Whole genome single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) genotyping and sequence analysis revealed a novel homozygous missense mutation (c.577T˃C) of the human HPGD gene in all affected members of the family. Theoretical analysis has been carried out to establish the heat transport phenomenon of six different ferromagnetic MnZnFe2O4—C2H6O2 (manganese zinc ferrite-ethylene glycol), NiZnFe2O4—C2H6O2 (Nickel zinc ferrite-ethylene glycol), Fe2O4—C2H6O2 (magnetite ferrite-ethylene glycol), NiZnFe2O4—H2O (Nickel zinc ferrite-water), MnZnFe2O4—H2O (manganese zinc ferrite-water), and Fe2O4—H2O (magnetite ferrite-water) nanofluids containing manganese zinc ferrite, Nickel zinc ferrite, and magnetite ferrite nanoparticles dispersed in a base fluid of ethylene glycol and water mixture. The performance of convective heat transfer is elevated in boundary layer flow region via nanoparticles. Magnetic dipole in presence of ferrites nanoparticles plays a vital role in controlling the thermal and momentum boundary layers. In perspective of this, the impacts of magnetic dipole on the nano boundary layer, steady, and laminar flow of incompressible ferromagnetic nanofluids are analyzed in the present study. Flow is caused by linear stretching of the surface. Fourier’s law of heat conduction is used in the evaluation of heat flux. Impacts of emerging parameters on the magneto—thermomechanical coupling are analyzed numerically. Further, it is evident that Newtonian heating has increasing behavior on the rate of heat transfer in the boundary layer. Objectives: To determine correlation between blood levels of high sensitivity c-reactive protein (Hs CRP) and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) on coronary angiography measured through Gensini scoring system. Study type, settings and duration: The descriptive case study was conducted at Rawalpindi institute of cardiology. The duration of study was six month. Patients and Methods: Adult patients of both genders between age 25 to 60 years visiting to outpatient department of the institute and registered for coronary angiogram were included. From each of the enrolled patient about 5cc venos blood sample was collected and Hs-CRP was performed. Severity was measured through Gensini score after coronary angiography. Angiographic Gensini scores were correlated with Hs-CRP using Pearson's correlation (2-tailed). Value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Total 87 patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria were enrolled among them 81.6% (n=71) were males and 18.4% (n=16) were females. The correlation coefficient was found to be 0.043, implying that there is negligible relationship between Hs-CRP and Gensini scores at p= 0.696. This paper presents the differences in family interaction and parenting behaviours and their influence on sexual intention among male and female youths aged 18 to 22 years. The results presented are based on data collected from unmarried college students in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Despite being in a country where premarital sexual activity is not an accepted behaviour, 18% of the 422 male and 1.4% of the 566 female students indicated their intention to perform sexual activity. Compared to females, males had more allowance of autonomy from parents and lesser parental monitoring, paternal care, parent-youth communication on sexual issues, and family connectedness. Both genders perceived that they received similar levels of parental control. In male youths, having high maternal control (OR: 1.19, 95% CI: 1.03-1.38) and family modelling behaviour (OR: 2.25, 95% CI: 1.19-4.25) increased their odds of having sexual intention while having high parent-youth communication on sex (OR: 0.89, 95% CI: 0.81-0.99) reduced their odds of having sexual intention. For female youths, having a high level of family connectedness (OR: 0.76, 95% CI: 0.59-0.97) was a protective factor against sexual intention. In conclusion, sexual intention is higher among males compared to females. The influence of family interaction and parenting behaviours on youth sexual decision varied across gender. Background: Pure hair and nail ectodermal dysplasia (PHNED) is a congenital disorder of hair abnormalities and nail dysplasia. Both autosomal recessive and dominant inheritance fashion of PHNED occurs. In literature, to date, five different forms of PHNED have been reported at molecular level, having three genes known and two loci with no gene yet. Methods: In this study, a four generations consanguineous family of Pakistani origin with autosomal recessive PHNED was investigated. Affected members exhibited PHNED phenotypes with involvement of complete hair loss and nail dysplasia. To screen for mutation in the genes (HOXC13, KRT74, KRT85), its coding exons and exons-intron boundaries were sequenced. The 3D models of normal and mutated HOXC13 were predicted by using homology modeling. Results: Through investigating the family to known loci, the family was mapped to ectodermal dysplasia 9 (ECTD9) loci with genetic address of 12q13.13. Mutation screening revealed a novel missense mutation (c.929A > C; p. Asn310Thr) in homeobox DNA binding domain of HOXC13 gene in affected members of the family. Due to mutation, loss of hydrogen bonding and difference in potential energy occurs, which may resulting in alteration of protein function. Background: From the Theory of Planned Behaviour perspective, sexual intention is determined by a permissive attitude, perception of social norms and perceived self-efficacy in performing sexual activity. The aim of this study was to develop and validate the Youth Sexual Intention Questionnaire (YSI-Q), which was designed to measure sexual intention among youths in Malaysia.Methods: A total of 25 items were developed based on literature reviews encompassing four main constructs: sexual intention, attitude, social norms and self-efficacy. The YSI-Q then underwent a validation process that included content and face validity, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), reliability analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). This study was conducted on unmarried youths aged 18 to 22 years who were studying in colleges around Klang Valley, Malaysia.Results: EFA supported the four factor structure, but five items were removed due to incorrect placement or low factor loading (<0.60). Internal reliability using Cronbach's alpha ranged between 0.89 and 0.94. The CFA further confirmed the construct, convergent and discriminant validity of the YSI-Q with χ 2 = 392.43, df = 164, p < 0.001, χ 2/df = 2.40, CFI = 0.93 and TLI = 0.92 and RMSEA = 0.08.Conclusion: The final set of YSI-Q consisted of 20 items measuring sexual intention (five items), attitude (five items), social norms (six items) and self-efficacy (four items) of practicing sexual activity. This article focuses on the characteristics of the viscous fluid flow over a linear stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium. Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is used instead of classic Fourier's law of heat conduction. Governing equations for the flow problem are reduced to nonlinear ordinary equations by applying suitable transformations. The impact of various pertinent parameters on the velocity, temperature, and concentration fields is analyzed through graphs. It is analyzed that higher thermal relaxation parameter results in the reduction of the temperature field. It is perceived that for increasing values of porosity parameter, velocity field increases. Carbon nanotube (CNT) has the highest thermal conductivity among the nanoparticles that were discovered so far. Attempts to utilize them as heat transfer fluids by dispersing them into any kinds of base fluids called CNT nanofluids have been thoroughly conducted. The laminar time-dependent fluid flow of an engine oil (Zinc Oxide−Society of Automotive Engineers 50 alias ZnO − SAE 50 nano-lubricant) through a rectangular channel is presented. The channel is made up of permeable walls that can expand or contract. It is also under the impact of thermal radiation and magnetic field is dominant enough to be ignored. The lower and upper walls of the channel bear different permeabilities and temperatures. Hence, a system of governing nonlinear partial differential equations is setup by means of conversation laws and aforementioned assumptions. By the implementation of suitable similarity transformations and conservation of mass, the equations for momentum, and energy are reduced to relatively simpler system of ordinary differential equations. The resulting system is solved by employing a semi analytical technique named as Subdomain Method (SDM). The results are further supported by another numerical scheme (a duos of shooting method along with Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg algorithm). The functioning of flow and temperature profiles under the variation in significant physical parameters is demonstrate upon the description of graphs and tables. Background: Women harboring BRCA1/2 germline mutations have high lifetime risk of developing breast/ovarian cancer. The recommendation to pursue BRCA1/2 testing is based on patient's family history of breast/ovarian cancer, age of disease-onset and/or pathologic parameters of breast tumors. Here, we investigated if diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) independently increases risk of carrying a BRCA1/2 mutation in Pakistan.Methods: Five hundred and twenty-three breast cancer patients including 237 diagnosed ≤ 30 years of age and 286 with a family history of breast/ovarian cancer were screened for BRCA1/2 small-range mutations and large genomic rearrangements. Immunohistochemical analyses were performed at one center. Univariate and multiple logistic regression models were used to investigate possible differences in prevalence of BRCA1/2 mutations according to patient and tumor characteristics.Results: Thirty-seven percent of patients presented with TNBC. The prevalence of BRCA1 mutations was higher in patients with TNBC than non-TNBC (37 % vs. 10 %, P < 0.0001). 1 % of TNBC patients were observed to have BRCA2 mutations. Subgroup analyses revealed a larger proportion of BRCA1 mutations in TNBC than non-TNBC among patients 1) diagnosed at early-age with no family history of breast/ovarian cancer (14 % vs. 5 %, P = 0.03), 2) diagnosed at early-age irrespective of family history (28 % vs. 11 %, P = 0.0003), 3) had a family history of breast cancer (49 % vs. 12 %, P < 0.0001), and 4) those with family history of breast and ovarian cancer (81 % vs. 28 %, P = 0.0005). TNBC patients harboring BRCA1 mutations were diagnosed at a later age than non-carriers (median age at diagnosis: 30 years (range 22-53) vs. 28 years (range 18-67), P = 0.002). The association between TNBC status and presence of BRCA1 mutations was independent of the simultaneous consideration of family phenotype, tumor histology and grade in a multiple logistic regression model (Ratio of the probability of carrying BRCA1/2 mutations for TNBC vs. non-TNBC 4.23; 95 % CI 2.50-7.14; P < 0.0001).Conclusion: Genetic BRCA1 testing should be considered for Pakistani women diagnosed with TNBC. Nanofluids have gained significant attention in recent years due their great potential for heat transfer enhancement . The heat transfer of nanofluids can be numerically studied using a single-phase or two-phase approaches. The first assumes that the fluid phase and nanoparticles are in thermal equilibrium and move with the same velocity, while the second requires more computational effort but provides the possibility of understanding the behavior of both fluid phase and solid particles in the heat transfer mechanism. This paper reviews various computational approaches to predict fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of nanofluids. The characteristics of single-phase and two-phase (volume of fluid, mixture, Eulerian–Lagrangian and Eulerian–Eulerian) approaches have been analyzed and discussed systematically. So far, nanoparticles have been used in engine oil, transmission oil, and radiator coolant to enhance heat transfer removal from vehicle engine. This study investigates the nature of the relationship between environmental performance and financial performance of publicly listed companies in Australia. The environmental performance data was collated from environmental reports submitted by the companies to the National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) and firm performance data was collated from the ASX database. After controlling for unobserved company effects, we report a strong positive association between environmental performance and financial performance during the pre-financial crisis period (2001–2007) and no relationship between environmental performance and financial performance during the financial crisis (2008–2010). Bronchoscopy has garnered increased popularity in the biopsy of peripheral lung lesions. The development of navigational guided bronchoscopy systems along with radial endobronchial ultrasound (REBUS) allows clinicians to access and sample peripheral lesions. The development of robotic bronchoscopy improved localization of targets and diagnostic accuracy. Despite such technological advancements, published diagnostic yield remains lower compared to computer tomography (CT)-guided biopsy. The discordance between the real-time location of peripheral lesions and anticipated location from preplanned navigation software is often cited as the main variable impacting accurate biopsies. The utilization of cone beam CT (CBCT) with navigation-based bronchoscopy has been shown to assist with localizing targets in real-time and improving biopsy success. The resources, costs, and radiation associated with CBCT remains a hindrance in its wider adoption. Recently, digital tomosynthesis (DT) platforms have been developed as an alternative for real-time imaging guidance in peripheral lung lesions. In North America, there are several commercial platforms with distinct features and adaptation of DT. Early studies show the potential improvement in peripheral lesion sampling with DT. Despite the results of early observational studies, the true impact of DT-based imaging devices for peripheral lesion sampling cannot be determined without further prospective randomized trials and meta-analyses. Three insecticides viz Regent, Tracer and Match were evaluated as slow toxicants against subterranean termites, Heterotermes indicola L (Isoptera:Termitidae). The experiment was performed using termite workers of H. indicola to which these insecticides were dipped in blotting paper once only, in start with the following concentration i.e. 0.000312, 0.000156, 0.00078, 0.00039 and 0.000195%. The total mean percent of mortality after ten days results concluded that Regent (Fipronil 5% SC) was 91.79, 86.40, 78.94, 74.18 and 62.06%, while Tracer (Spinosad 240 SC) was 72.60, 63.53, 60.60, 59.06 and 28.60%, and finally Match (Lufenuron 5% EC) was 49.40, 31.06, 26.19, 22.18 and 10.66%, repectively. Maximum mortality and avoidance was obtained by toxicity of Regent, as it was capable of obtaining 100% mortality even before day ten on every concentration therefore, Regent was considered highly toxic. Tracer was found to be slow acting agent. 100% mortality was recorded by using the 1st concentration of Tracer on day 7, on day 9 by using the 2nd concentration, while on day 10 by using the 3rd concentration of Regent. Match was unable to cause 100% mortality by using any of the tested concentrations. Based on the mortality recorded among the three insecticides the last two (0.000039 and 0.0000195%) concentrations of Regent caused 100% mortality on the 7th and 8th days. The 1st three (0.000312, 0.000156 and 0.000078%) concentrations of Tracer caused 100% mortality on the 7th, 8th and 9th day, and the 1st concentration of Match caused 80% mortality on the 10th day. Background: Parenting behaviour is culturally sensitive. The aims of this study were (1) to translate the Parental Bonding Instrument into Malay (PBI-M) and (2) to determine its factorial structure and validity among the Malaysian population. Methods: The PBI-M was generated from a standard translation process and comprehension testing. The validation study of the PBI-M was administered to 248 college students aged 18 to 22 years. Results: Participants in the comprehension testing had difficulty understanding negative items. Five translated double negative items were replaced with five positive items with similar meanings. Exploratory factor analysis showed a three-factor model for the PBI-M with acceptable reliability. Four negative items (items 3, 4, 8, and 16) and item 19 were omitted from the final PBI-M list because of incorrect placement or low factor loading (< 0.32). Out of the final 20 items of the PBI-M, there were 10 items for the care factor, five items for the autonomy factor and five items for the overprotection factor. All the items loaded positively on their respective factors. Conclusion: The Malaysian population favoured positive items in answering questions. The PBI-M confirmed the three-factor model that consisted of care, autonomy and overprotection. The PBI-M is a valid and reliable instrument to assess the Malaysian parenting style. Parents are important figures in shaping an adolescent's emotion regulation. However, there have been fewer studies investigating the effects of parental care and parental autonomy on adolescents' emotion regulation, and the findings from the existing research have been inconsistent. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the effects of parental care and autonomy (from both the father and mother) on adolescents' emotion dysregulation. The Malay versions of Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) and Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-18 (DERS-18) were administered to 491 students between the ages of 13 and 14 years old. The students were recruited from public schools in Peninsular Malaysia by using a non-proportionate random stratified sampling technique. This study employed the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with regression analysis. The results showed a significant negative effect of paternal and maternal care on adolescent's emotion dysregulation. There is no significant effect of paternal and maternal autonomy on the adolescent's emotion dysregulation. This study concludes that both fathers and mothers who care for and provide warmth to their children would promote better emotion regulation. The current findings highlight intervention and prevention efforts in promoting parental care and warmth in our children upbringing particularly involving adolescents. Objective: To calculate the prevalence of common types of cancer in SINDH based on Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) database. Type of Study: Retrospective Observational Study. Place & Duration of Study: Clinical Oncology Department Civil Hospital Karachi, from January, 2004 to December 2011(8 Years). Methods: All the Patients attending the oncology department CHK were selected for study. After completing data the cancer registry patients were categorized according to their diagnosis and this data was recorded on Microsoft Excel sheet. Results: During period of January 2004 to December 2011, the total number of patients included in the study was 5504 out of which 2638 were males and 2866 females. The list of prevalence of different types of cancer was created and according to the statistical analysis based on CHK data base, the increasing trend was seen in breast, oral cavity, lymphoid tissue, blood, colorectal, liver & biliary tract, faciomaxillary, lung, uterus, esophagus, gastrointestinal stromal tumor, larynx, ovary, male genital system, Nasopharynx, urinary system and brain cancers. Conclusions: It is concluded that the registration of cancer patients is highly beneficial for the evaluation of cancer prevalence and incidence. This registration is also helpful for calculating the comparative incidence and prevalence of cancers on national and international levels. The recorded data will also help to improve the quality of life of cancer patients as this data is very much helpful to identify the etiology and risk factors of cancers which will improve health prevention and management plans by higher authorities.
