Search

In order to improve the quality and the influence of Journal of Natural Resources (JNR), the authors searched papers published in JNR during 1986-2015 in CNKI as the source data and analyzed the characteristics of zero-cited papers. Changes in the number of published papers and the rate of zero-cited papers, the average download frequency and other related information, such as authors, subjects, funds and paper characteristics, were all taken into consideration. The results are as follows: 1) From quarterly journal to bimonthly and monthly journal, the number of published papers in JNR increased, but the rate of zero-cited papers did not increase. 2) These zero-cited papers were still downloaded, which means they have the possibility of being cited in the future. 3) As far as the information the first authors of the zero-cited papers were concerned, doctoral students take the most proportion, followed by master students, assistant professors and associate professors, and professors take the least proportion, and the authors from colleges/universities and scientific institutes are more than the authors from local departments. Most zero-cited papers were written by single author or authors from single institute. 4) Whether a paper was cited or not had little relation with the number and the type of funds. 5) The subjects of most zero-cited papers are pedology, geoscience, meteorology and environmental biology. This paper reviews and summarizes the background, characteristics and main revised contents of each edition of Inorganic Chemistry co-edited by three universities including Jilin University. The major responsibility of large-scale apparatus in research-oriented universities in China includes the service to high-level researches and the open service to external users. For this purpose, it is of significance to investigate the efficiency of the large-scale apparatus in some renowned universities in China. In this paper, the operational performances of more than 500 sets of large-scale apparatus for educational and research missions in a renowned university in the past three years are investigated by means of statistical analysis. It reveals that an assessment oriented to the open services to teach mission and research community may be improved, while most of these apparatus do act as advanced platforms and services to high-level research activities. It also demonstrates that these apparatus as infrastructures of senior talent training and service have performed well, while substantial efforts in improving and optimizing the operational modes and functionalities of these large-scale apparatus may be made for the research and educational enhancement in China.
