With the rapid development of intensive poultry breeding in China, the demand for poultry feed raw materials is increasing rapidly. However, the shortage of cereal feed and the persistently high price make it urgent for poultry feed production industry to explore cheaper energy alternative feed. Cassava has the characteristics of high yield, rich starch and fiber, high energy value, etc. It can replace corn or other energy feed in poultry breeding. The effective use of cassava products has been proved to reduce the feed cost of poultry production. However, the utilization of cassava is limited by many factors, such as low protein and anti-nutritional factors. Using correct processing and scientific formula, the addition level of cassava in poultry diet can be improved. In this paper, the nutritional characteristics, feed utilization, and application of cassava in poultry diet were reviewed, which provided a reference for the application of cassava in poultry diet. Recycling carbon tax revenue is a significant part of the design of a nation's carbon tax system. The impact of different recycling principles on the socio-economy and carbon emission reduction varies greatly. Under the background of China's goal of reaching peak carbon emissions, this paper designed three carbon tax recycling principles based on the goal of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), including recycling principles based on output ratio, export ratio, and carbon intensity. A recursively dynamic CGE model was developed in this study to evaluate the economic effects of these three carbon tax recycling principles based on tax neutrality under China's goal of reaching peak carbon emissions. Carbon tax recycling measures could mitigate the economic losses caused by carbon tax, and the results could be greatly affected according to different recycling principles. The results showed that: 1 The recycling principle based on output ratio could reduce economic losses and improve households' social welfare. 2 China's carbon intensity in 2030 could be reduced by more than 65% compared with that in 2005, and the proportion of non-fossil energy in primary energy consumption could reach 25% using the recycling principle based on carbon intensity, but the economic loss mitigation effect of the recycling measures based on this principle was small. 3 Adopting the recycling principle based on export ratio would narrow the competitive gap between China and foreign countries, and the exports of high-carbon-intensity goods would not increase under this principle. 4 According to principles based on output ratio and export ratio, the NDC goal of non-fossil energy accounting for about 25% of primary energy consumption by 2030 could not be achieved, and only the NDC goal of reducing carbon emissions per unit of GDP by more than 65% compared with that of 2005 could be achieved. In brief, as an essential policy tool to achieve China's goal of reaching peak carbon emissions, the carbon tax should be implemented as soon as possible. At the same time, according to China's national conditions, a targeted choice of carbon tax recycling principle is needed. Strengthening the supply of feed grain is an important starting point for stabilizing the supply and demand of feed grain market and promoting the high-quality development of animal husbandry. Based on the monthly data samples of feed grain supply and demand structure from January 2006 to December 2022, this paper uses the VAR model to empirically analyze the feed grain supply and demand structure in China. The results showed that maize supply had the most obvious influence on feed grain supply and demand structure, followed by urban and rural residents' consumption of livestock products, and rice supply was the lowest. From the perspective of supply, the main influencing factors of feed grain supply and demand structure change include maize supply, soybean meal supply, sorghum supply, and wheat supply. From the perspective of demand, the consumption of livestock products by urban and rural residents was the main factor affecting the change of feed grain supply and demand structure. From the perspective of emergencies, natural disaster risk index was not the Granger cause of the change of feed grain supply and demand structure. Under ignoring other factors, the contribution rate of natural disaster risk index to the change of feed grain supply and demand structure after seven weeks was 23.62%. Research shows that changes in the supply and demand structure of feed grains are mainly influenced by factors such as corn supply, consumption of livestock products by urban and rural residents, soybean meal supply, sorghum supply, wheat supply, and natural disaster risks. Background Para-infectious encephalopathy is an acute inflammatory encephalopathy secondary to a systemic infectious disease, including acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE) and mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS). This paper reports on 3 cases of SARS-CoV-2 related to para-infectious encephalopathy diagnosed and treated in The Ordos Central Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from December 2022 to February 2023, and reviews relevant literature to summarize the clinical characteristics of the disease. Methods and Results The 3 patients with SARS-CoV-2 related to para-infectious encephalopathy, including 2 cases of SARS-CoV-2 related to ANE and one case of SARS-CoV-2 related to MERS were reported. Three patients developed consciousness disorder 2-4 d after fever, and still had aphasia, mental abnormality, convulsions, etc.. SARS-CoV-2 throat swab was positive. Head MRI showed one abnormal signal of brain stem and bilateral thalamus, one abnormal signal of bilateral thalamus, and one abnormal pressure of corpus callosum. All received hormone shock therapy and (or) intravenous immunoglobulin. One died, and 2 cases were recovered. Conclusions SARS-CoV-2 related to para-infectious encephalopathy including SARS-CoV-2 related to ANE and MERS and other clinical subtypes, the former has rapid progress, severe disease, high disability rate and fatality rate and poor prognosis, while the latter has relatively mild symptoms and better prognosis. Silk fiber is increasingly recognized for its potential in a wide range of interdisciplinary applications due to its superior comfort, exceptional mechanical strength, biocompatibility, bio-degradability, and its harmless and non-irritating nature to human skin. However, it also faces several challenges, such as susceptibility to photo-yellowing, aging, microbial-induced distortion or deterioration, difficulties with machine washing, and demanding maintenance requirements. Consequently, there is a pressing demand for technological advancements to create high-performance and multifunctional silk fibers suitable for more diverse uses. This review comprehensively examines the latest methods for producing advanced multifunctional silk fibers, encompassing genetic engineering, dietary interventions, physical and chemical modifications, while also highlighting the associated issues and obstacles. Building on this analysis, the paper explores prospective avenues for the evolution of high-performance and multifunctional silk fibers, aiming to offer theoretical insights that could facilitate the transformation and progress of China's sericulture industry. Food is vital to the people, and safety comes first in food. Food safety is crucial to people's livelihood, economic development, and social stability. It represents people's aspiration for a better life and grabs great public attention. In recent years, while China has achieved significant progress in food safety, the situation remains severe, with incidents such as excessive residues of agricultural and veterinary drugs, as well as illegal addition of toxic and harmful substances. As an important technical support for ensuring food safety, food safety inspection and testing institutions also exhibit a mixed bag of performance. Problems such as inadequate personnel management, improper use of facilities and equipment, weak legal awareness resulting in issuance of false reports have frequently occurred, seriously disrupting the normal order of the inspection and testing market and affecting the authority and accuracy of food safety testing. Based on the capacity verification of inspection and testing organizations in Zhejiang Province in recent years, this paper studies the typical problems faced by food inspection and testing institutions in terms of management level and testing capabilities, analyzes the root causes in depth, and proposes specific strategies from three aspects: Strengthening the main responsibility of inspection and testing institutions, combining regulatory departments with supervision and guidance, and enhancing industry self-discipline, aiming to continuously improve their inspection and testing capabilities, promote the high-quality development of food inspection and testing institutions, and effectively ensure the safety of every bite of food. (1) Background--The forest tourism industry and the elderly care industry influence and support each other in terms of resource factors, industrial layout and policy linkage, which lays the foundation for the coupling and coordinated development of the two industries. In recent years, forest tourism has been vigorously developed in Northeast China, while population aging has been deepening. Exploring the coupling and coordination law between the forest tourism industry and the elderly care industry in Northeast China can provide theoretical reference and decision support for the coordinated development of the two industries. (2) Methods--The research data in this paper were mainly from "China Statistical Yearbook", "China Civil Affairs Statistical Yearbook", "China Forestry and Grassland Statistical Yearbook", as well as the statistical communiques on the national economic and social development of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces during 2013-2022. This paper firstly constructed an evaluation indicator system for the development level of the forest tourism industry and elderly care industry. Then, the entropy method was used to measure the weight of each indicator, and the linear weighting method was used to calculate the comprehensive evaluation values of the two industrial subsystems. Finally, the coupling coordination degree model was used to calculate the degree of mutual influence of the two industries in Northeast China and determine the coupling and coordinated development status of the two subsystems. (3) Result--First, the average of the overall development index of the forest tourism industry in Northeast China is 0.4911, which is significantly higher than the comprehensive development index of the elderly care industry 0.375 8. Second, on the whole, the coupling coordination degree of the forest tourism industry and elderly care industry in Northeast China is low, and the coupling coordination degree of the two industries has changed from the near imbalance stage to the mild imbalance stage. Third, there are obvious differences in the coupling coordination degree of the two industries in different provinces. According to the grade standard of coupling coordination degree, it can be seen that the coupling coordination degree of the two industries in Heilongjiang Province is at the critical coordination level, the coupling coordination degree of the two industries in Liaoning province is at the near imbalance level, and that of the two industries in Jilin Province is at the moderate imbalance level. (4) Conclusions and Discussions--First, change the development concepts, attach importance to the coupling development between industries and the top-level design and overall planning of the two industries. Encourage the use of forest ecological resources to develop tourism, strengthen the construction of scenic spot infrastructures, improve the elderly forest tourism industry system, clarify industry norms, and formulate a standard system and supervision system. Second, deepen the supply-side structural reform, guided by industrial demand. Build a full-chain forest tourism and health care service system for the elderly, strengthen the construction of high-quality forest tourism scenic spots and summer resorts, and create high-quality forest tourism routes suitable for the elderly. Third, based on advantageous industrial resources, promote industrial optimization and coordinated development. At present, the communication based train control system (CBTC) has been used as the mainstream signaling system for rail transit, while the train autonomous circumambulate system (TACS) has also been gradually put into operation in China. To compare the reliability level of these two signaling systems, this paper performs a reliability analysis for both the TACS system and the CBTC system from the perspective of fault-caused operation delay. It presents the reliability block diagrams of both the TACS and the CBTC system in which faults lead to delays of more than 2 minutes and more than 5 minutes, which are drawn in view of the design architecture of these two signaling systems and the line configuration. Then, it provides an evaluation and comparison of the reliability level under the two system architectures under discussion. Pidan is an original traditional food in China, which has attracted extensive attention of researchers because of its unique color, fragrance, taste and functions of clearing heat, purging fire, reducing inflammation. Metallic compounds, alkali concentration, and temperature are important in the process of gel formation. Although many studies related to Pidan have been published, there is no systematic summary on the formation mechanism of gel and flavor profile. In this paper, the regulation mechanism of metal compounds in alkaline solutions, and the formation mechanism of gel, color, flavor profile, and Songhua are systematically and comprehensively reviewed to provide theoretical support for the production development and processing of Pidan. This paper analyzes the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of carbon emissions in China's construction industry, and studies the key influencing factors of carbon emission intensity in China's construction industry at the spatial level through spatial spillover effects, so as to reveal the inter-regional influence mechanism. The results show that：the total carbon emissions of China's construction industry are generally on the rise, the carbon emission intensity is generally declining first and then stable, and the carbon emission intensity has intra-regional convergence and inter-regional heterogeneity；the proportion of housing construction industry, the scale of construction industry, regional economic level, environmental regulation, and nationalization rate of construction enterprises have a significant inhibitory effect on the carbon emission intensity, while the technological progress, the regional economic level and environmental regulation have a significant negative spatial spillover effect on the carbon emission intensity. Tea (Camellia sinensis L.) is one of the most important and traditional economic crops widely cultivated in the subtropical regions of China, which are usually developed from forestland. Soil enzyme activity is an important indicator of soil fertility and nutrient transformation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the seasonal dynamic characteristics of soil properties and enzyme activities of different planting patterns in Wuyishan city, and to provide theoretical basis for reasonable evaluation of soil ecological effects of organic tea cultivation. In this paper, three different planting patterns (forestland, conventional and organic tea gardens) were selected as the research objects. Soil samples were collected in May, August, November and February from 2021 to 2022. The soil properties and enzyme activities (urease, nitrate reductase, polyphenol oxidase, catalase, invertase and acid phosphatase) were determined in different seasons, and the dynamic changes with seasons were also investigated. The results show that: comparing with the forestland, the contents of soil ammonium nitrogen, total phosphorus, available phosphorus and available potassium increased significantly in the conventional tea garden, while the total potassium and pH decreased significantly. Compared with the conventional tea garden, the soil organic matter and total nitrogen contents increased significantly in the organic tea garden. The soil total phosphorus, available phosphorus, total potassium and available potassium contents decreased significantly. The soil pH also increased, and the proportion of soil nutrients was more coordinated. The effects of planting pattern and season and their interactions on urease and peroxidase activities were significant. Compared with the forestland, the soil urease, polyphenol oxidase, catalase and acid phosphatase activities decreased by 12.05% to 63.55% in the conventional tea garden, while urease activities significantly increased by 324.95% in the organic tea garden, and the soil nitrate reductase activities were not changed by planting mode. In general, the soil urease, polyphenol oxidase, invertase and acid phosphatase activities were significantly higher in summer and autumn (May and August) than those in winter and spring (November and February). The highest soil nitrate reductase and catalase activities were found in spring (February). The results of permutational multivariate analysis of variance show that the effect of planting pattern on the overall soil physical and chemical properties was much greater than that of seasonal changes. Redundancy analysis shows that soil environmental factors explained 77.03% of the variation in soil enzyme activity, and the soil organic matter, total nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, total phosphorus, soil available phosphorus, total potassium, available potassium and pH were the main driving factors of soil enzymes. In summary, the conversion of forestland into tea gardens has a significant impact on soil properties and enzyme activities. Conventional planting leads to the accumulation of available phosphorus and potassium in tea garden soil and the decrease of soil enzyme activity, while organic planting improves soil enzyme activity and enhances soil carbon and nitrogen nutrient supply capacity, and thus is beneficial for maintaining a sustainable ecosystem in tea garden soil. Although the study of Charles Dickens has matured in the domestic academia since the 21st century, a flourishing and pluralistic academic discourse has yet to be formed in China. This paper adopts the cluster view, timeline view, burst detection in CiteSpace to visually present the chronological development of Dickens's studies in China. On the whole, Chinese scholars' research in this field has not yet truly entered the international arena, and it is challenging to maintain an international academic dialogue; domestically, scholars' interpretations of Dickens show a relatively obvious trend towards a distinctly Chinese interpretation, and can be described as both constructive and deconstructive in the reception of such foreign culture. In detail, even though the new century has seen the emergence of many promising research topics and new clusters, the repetition of Dickens's works is still a serious phenomenon, and it is not easy to innovate on classic topics. [Objective] As the main energy source in China, coal has an important strategic position in the country's economic development. China's coal-based energy structure model will not change in the short term, but coal mine accidents occur frequently. Mine fire is a major disaster that threatens safe coal mine production, which incurs huge economic losses and threatens the personal safety of miners and coal mine production. However, coal spontaneous combustion primarily causes mine fires. The occurrence mechanism of coal spontaneous combustion is highly complex and is affected by the inherent combustion characteristics of coal and external environmental factors. Therefore, it is necessary to comprehensively analyze various phenomena and characteristics in the process of coal spontaneous combustion and apply quantitative indicators to express to predict the risk and ensure the safe production of the mine. [Methods] Oxygen concentration is an important factor influencing coal oxidation reaction. In this paper, the temperature-programmed experimental system is used to conduct the spontaneous combustion experiment of coal samples with three oxygen concentrations of 20.9%, 10%, and 7% regarding the heat dissipation, oxidation, and asphyxiation zones in the goaf. The gas products at different temperature stages are collected, the effects of temperature and oxygen concentration on the concentration of gas products are analyzed, and the index gases are classified and evaluated in detail. [Results] The results show the following: (1) The cross-point temperature (CPT) decreases with the increase in the oxygen concentration. The cross-point temperature under dry-air conditions is 144.6 °C. The error between the CPT value calculated by the BM empirical relationship and the experimental data is only 6.08%. The higher the oxygen concentration, the smaller the critical temperature, and the higher the gas concentration. (2) The content of oxidation products increases with the oxygen concentration. When heating commences, minimal CO and CH4 gases are generated, but with the increase in the temperature, C2H4 and C2H6 gases appear gradually. The oxidation reaction of coal samples is primarily affected by temperature and oxygen concentration. At a certain temperature, the higher the oxygen concentration, the more intense the coal-oxygen composite reaction, and more gas products appear. (3) For different oxygen concentration environments, the regularity of generating CO gas is highly significant, which can be used as an indicator gas to evaluate the spontaneous combustion of coal. In dry air, the temperature of C2H4 is earlier than that of C3H6, implying that the existence of C2H4 indicates that the coal oxidation process has entered an accelerated stage. The emergence of C3H6 gas marks the transformation of the coal oxidation into strong oxidation. Recently, the programmed temperature rise experiment has become an important research field. [Conclusions] Through indoor experiments, students can deeply understand the mechanism of coal spontaneous combustion and the process of establishing the prediction index system and introduce the experiment into the classroom. This practical teaching approach not only helps students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems but also broadens their horizons and improves their interest in scientific research, achieving better teaching results. [Objective] The problems of excessive CO2 emission, the greenhouse effect, and energy shortage have been widely discussed among countries worldwide. Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction reaction (ECO2RR) can realize the conversion of CO2 into value-added chemical fuel under mild conditions and the storage of renewable electricity, which is an effective way to promote China's aim of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. To pursue higher catalytic activity and product selectivity, researchers are committed to developing highly efficient ECO2RR electrocatalysts. In this paper, we designed Mo2CO2 MXene-based single-atom catalysts (SACs) (TM@Mo2CO2-Ov, TM = Fe, Co, Ni) according to the needs of ECO2RR, focusing on their electronic structure, catalytic performance, as well as reaction mechanism through theoretical simulation of the electrocatalytic process. [Methods] In this work, the CIF file of the Mo2CO2 MXene structure downloaded from the crystal structure database was first imported into the Materials Studio software. Then, the (110) crystal plane was cleaved, and a vacuum layer of 15 A was created. Afterward, a 3 x 3 supercell treatment was applied to the system. Next, the VASP software was utilized to perform structure optimization. After the Mo2CO2 structure was optimized, a vacancy site for an oxygen atom on the surface was constructed. Subsequently, the Fe, Co, and Ni metal atoms were introduced into the respective vacancy sites to create the Fe@Mo2CO2-Ov, Co@Mo2CO2-Ov, and Ni@Mo2CO2-Ov catalyst models, respectively. Finally, the VASP software was employed to optimize the catalyst structures and the adsorption structures of the reaction intermediates. The performance evaluation of ECO2RR on different SACs was obtained by studying the reaction mechanism of the production of C products (CO, HCOOH, CH3OH, and CH4). The free energy of ECO2RR was calculated using the computational hydrogen electrode mode, wherein the energy of (H+ + e-) remained equivalent to that of 1/2H2 at normal pressure and temperature. [Results] The calculated results showed the following: 1) In the Mo2CO2-Ov framework, single Fe, Co, and Ni atoms replaced the Mo atom at the center of the O defect. After structural optimization, it was found that these three structures did not change significantly, and the bond lengths only changed slightly. 2) The CO2 molecule was stably adsorbed on Fe@Mo2CO2-Ov, Co@Mo2CO2-Ov, and Ni@Mo2CO2-Ov via chemisorption. The structures of CO2 were significantly bent after adsorption, and the calculated absolute values of the interaction exceeded four. The DOS analysis showed that the occupation of d orbitals of Ni, Co, and Fe led to the adsorption difference. The d orbitals of Co and Fe were hybridized with the ng and nM* orbitals of CO2, which promoted the adsorption and activation of CO2. 3) The ECO2RR free energy diagram and reaction path analysis showed that Co@Mo2CO2-Ov had higher ECO2RR activity and better CH4 selectivity and was a better electrocatalyst for the formation of C1 products from ECO2RR than Fe@Mo2CO2-Ov and Ni@Mo2CO2-Ov. [Conclusions] By integrating the geometrical analysis, DOS calculation, and free energy analysis, Co@Mo2CO2-Ov was established as the ideal ECO2RR catalyst. The work can achieve the expected goal of significantly enhancing the ECO2RR performance and improving students' scientific research literacy to explore micromechanisms and processes through the extension of the experimental process. Currently, the self-sufficiency rate of domestic vegetable oil is still low. As an important oil crop in China, rapeseed contributes to nearly 50% of the oil production of domestic oil crops, and it plays a vital role in ensuring national edible oil supply security. Since the "No. 1 central document" for 2012 first proposed the comprehensive deployment of agricultural science and technology strategy, the rapeseed industry has made great progress with scientific and technological support. The "No. 1 central document" for 2023 clearly proposes to further promote the soybean and oilseed production capacity improvement project, take coordinated steps to support the rapeseed industry, promote rice-oil rotation, and vigorously develop winter idle fields. This paper systematically figured the development status of rapeseed industry from 2012 to 2022, summarized the scientific and technological progress within this sector, and analysed the current challenges and prospects. Clarifying the development of rape's total factor productivity in China since the Reform and Opening-up is a logical starting point to improve the comprehensive production capacity of rape. Based on the input-output related data of 11 rape main producing provinces during 1979-2020, this paper analyzes the dynamic evolution and convergence based on the total factor productivity measured by using Global Malmquist index, using kernel density estimation, δ convergence and β convergence, respectively. The results show that, according to the time-series characteristics, China's total factor productivity of rape has achieved certain growth in the midst of dramatic fluctuations since the Reform and Opening-up, demonstrating a technology-induced growth pattern, whereas technical efficiency does not contribute significantly to it. From the dynamic evolution, the geographical variations in the rise of rape's total factor productivity keep getting smaller. From the perspective of convergence, the overall δ value of total factor productivity of rape is fluctuating and decreasing, and has essentially stabilized around 0.01 since 2012, displaying an clear convergence tendency, confirming the existence of δ convergence. The absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence of rape's total factor productivity exist. The convergence model's convergence is still significant after accounting for the spatial effect, and there is a favorable spatial spillover effect. It suggests counter-measures to support the development of a national rapeseed industrial technology system, execute a regionalized development plan, and encourage coordinated regional development in order to further increase the total factor productivity of rapeseed. This paper describes the measurement of the energy ecological footprint of the country and the regions during the period of 1997-2021 by using the net primary productivity model from the perspective of embodied carbon. With the kernel density estimation model being applied to the analysis of dynamic distribution characteristics, which depicts the evolution law of spatial absolute difference, the spatial absolute β convergence and spatial conditional β convergence models were constructed to further explore the spatial convergence of energy ecological footprint. As a result of the study it was showed that the energy ecological footprint China appeared to be a steady ascending trend, and its spatial distribution could be characterized as "higher in coastal regions and lower in inland regions". There was a trend regarding the overall distribution of China's energy ecological footprint, i.e., "the transition from unimodal to multi-modal and the left shift of the major peak of wave", and except for the tendency toward "unimodal" of the energy ecological footprint in the mid-reach of the Yellow River and the mid-reach of the Yangtze River, the energy ecological footprint in other regions showed the characteristics of "the transition from unimodal to bimodal", "the decline of major wave peak height" and "right trailing", it can be seen that the differences among regions showed an expansion tendency. The phenomenon of regional polarization has been intensified since 2003, which among others, the northern and southern coastal regions were the severest, on the contrary, the northeast, southwest and northwest regions were the weakest. For China as a whole and each of the regions, the energy ecological footprint showed a tendency towards spatial conditional convergence and spatial absolute β convergence, and the spatial conditional convergence rate is faster than the spatial absolute convergence rate. In order to study the influence of box subgrade haunching on structural static characteristics of high-speed railway, a more reasonable box subgrade haunching method is found. In this paper, the box subgrade is divided into independent components, and the reinforcement mode of each independent component is calculated through static analysis. ABAQUS software is used for numerical simulation. In view of the stress concentration phenomenon at the connection node between the top plate and the vertical plate of the box subgrade structure, the influence of different haunching heights and angles of the triangular haunch on the stress concentration at the node is studied by using the control variable method, and the optimal haunching mode is proposed to optimize the static characteristics of the box subgrade structure. The analysis results show that when the fixed axillary height is 400 mm and the axillary angle is between 15° ~ 60°, the stress mutation reduction ratio Sr value decreases with the increase of axillary angle; When the axillary angle is between 60° ~ 75°, the Sr value increases with the increase of the axillary angle, and the optimal axillary angle is between 45° ~ 60°. When the axillary angle is fixed at 60°, the Sr value decreases as the axillary length increases, and the optimal axillary length is between 300 ~ 400 mm. The determination of the reinforcement mode and the optimal haunching mode of the box type subgrade is innovative to a certain extent, and provides valuable technical experience for the research of structural optimization of box type Subgrade of high-speed railway in China. Due to the low academic status of official document and the limited development of the subject, it is difficult for the research of official document writing and communication in China to keep up with the pace of the times. The Mediterranean diet (MD) contributes to healthy aging by changing dietary patterns to delay and prevent disease onset. Southwest China is one of the three largest continuous karst clusters in the world; therefore, studies on karst rocky desertification in this area are very important. For more than 20 years' control, the decreasing area and risk of karst rocky desertification has contributed to the continuous ecological improvement. Nowadays, studies on rocky desertification mainly focus on the eight provinces in Southwest China, which have been designated as rocky desertification monitoring areas by the Chinese government. After the first phase of the comprehensive control project for karst rocky desertification in 2016, the expansion trend of rocky desertification in the southwest region was effectively curbed. Subsequent articles published tend to focus on analyzing the current situation, comprehensive management, or species adaptability of rocky desertification monitoring areas. However, the Qinba region in Shaanxi Province is located outside the monitoring area. In the process of studying the karst geological relics of the Zhenba Sanyuan Tiankeng Group, signs of rocky desertification have been found, but there still exists a research gap in the investigation and research on karst rocky desertification in this area which is one of the areas with the richest biodiversity in China, known as "ecological lung", "central water tower" and "biological gene bank". Unfortunately, this area is burdened with poverty, so the investigation and study of karst rocky desertification in the Qinba region of Shaanxi Province is of great significance to ensure green and high-quality development and ecological civilization construction. In this paper, by analyzing the current situation of karst rocky desertification in Southwest China, we summarized its harm to the ecological environment and social economy, clarify natural and human factors resulting in rocky desertification, and integrate the typical treatment experience in Southwest China. We also introduce three technical methods, including remote sensing interpretation, UAV remote sensing survey and analysis of carbonate dissolution rate, to provide a scientific basis for studies on karst rocky desertification in the Qinba region of Shaanxi Province. Study results show that the area of karst rocky desertification in the Qinba region covers 63.37 km², and the areas of severe, moderate and mild rocky desertification cover 17.97 km², 21.60 km² and 23.80 km², respectively. Based on the survey results, there are both regional differences and some similarities in distribution patterns in the areas of rocky desertification development. Specifically, the degree of rocky desertification in the limestone area is more severe than that in the dolomite area. It is also more severe in the area with developed water system than that in the arid and semi-arid area, and the more active the new structure is, the more severe the rocky desertification is. Compared to the Southwest China, the degree of karst rocky desertification in the Qinba region of Shaanxi Province is relatively light, with a smaller distribution area, mainly due to the less rainfall in the study area. The karst rocky desertification in Beiyang mountain of Zhen'an county is the most severe, with an area of 7.28 km². In the 1960s, a large-scale free-range of livestock severely damaged vegetation. The indiscriminate deforestation by humans further exacerbated the process of rocky desertification. The rocky desertification in Hailuogong village of Shanyang county is also severe, covering an area of 5.83 km², because the landform in this area is a typical peak-cluster depression, which is likely developed into rocky desertification. The contradiction between people and land needs to be solved urgently. In conclusion, more monitoring and research efforts are needed in Beiyang mountain and Hailuogong where the rocky desertification is severe. Firstly, we should clarify the causes of rocky desertification in the Qinba region and compare them with the causes in Southwest China to determine whether the rocky desertification is mainly resulted from natural factors or human factors. Secondly, we should know how to clarify the causes of karst rocky desertification in the Qinba region; for example, we can dynamically monitor the change of rock desertification by field verification, remote sensing interpretation, climate change analysis, etc. We can also calculate the contribution rate of each influence factor by geographical detector model. Thirdly, we should further study influence factors of karst dissolution rate. We can monitor physical and chemical properties of soil (soil moisture, carbon dioxide concentration, pH, organic matter content and porosity) in areas with moderate to severe rocky desertification, and analyze the relationship between dissolution rate and physical and chemical properties of soil in rocky desertification areas. Finally, in order to provide basic data for carbon neutrality research in Shaanxi, we should conduct studies on the carbon sink of rocky desertification areas in the Qinba region, with the methods such as dissolution test pieces and hydrochemical runoff.
