The paper examines the scope of educommunication as a possibility for clarification on nanotechnology through comics. Nanotechnology is permeated by uncertainties about environmental and social risks and impacts, as well as the absence of a public debate on implications and controversies, even with the potential benefits. Therefore, we discussed aspects of education by comics in order to assess how complex issues can be addressed to a wider audience. Methodologically, a qualitative analysis is applied from the descriptive method to verify how nanotechnology is worked. An interpretation is made of the approaches adopted in the comics and their potentials are examined to educate on the effects and consequences of nanotechnology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to present an experience from a problem solving activity, carried out with 4th year students of a private Elementary School in the city of São Paulo. Through an analysis interpretative of the transcription of the utterances of the students and the teacher, it was possible to confirm the position of linguistics and mathematics education scholars about the importance of communication and interaction in social and cognitive development of individuals, particularly in this case, of students in a math class. The teacher's role as a conductive agent of interaction and construction of students' knowledge was also the object of analysis in this paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to discuss ways or diversions that are being explored in the processes of training rural extension workers and farmers in some localities of São Paulo state. To this end, the research reported here examined the pedagogical practices, and communication processes that occur during the formative training of extension workers and farmers, and between trainers and extension workers. It was further identified the communication influence in the teaching and learning in order to rethink practices related to the teaching-learning process. To this end, the data collection method was the phenomenological case study. The data herald the need of continuous training with teachers so that effective changes can be made. This paper presents results achieved with research supported by FAPESP, whose theme deals with the functions of language in the teacher-student. Was developed a foundation of language, communication in education. The theory derived from the conduct of research literature and documents. There was also exploratory research to improve understanding of the problem, as is the role of language and teacher-student interaction. lor the survey data, was used non-probability random sampling with data obtained through structured questionnaire. The target population consisted of teachers and students registered in the database of the author, with 1,357 students and 249 teachers. The results show that teachers use predominantly in the classroom (27%) the poetic junction, that is, teachers focus on his message. Already, the students said that teachers use the referential speech (30%), ie, teachers, for students, focused their speeches on the referential function, that is, based on context. Finally, we can observe the process of teaching and learning that both -- teacher and student -- not based on Junction value messages connate or appealing, focused on the receiver (student). This paper aims at investigating the interaction of two students of English at a languages institute in São Paulo through the use of images as input for the communication process. The concept of Thematic Online Workshops (REZENDE, 2003) was chosen for this activities proposal with the participants, which were included in a discussion list by their English teacher. After sending photos through the discussion list, it was possible to observe how the interaction in the environment occurred. Considering the communication in the online environment as a process defined by verbal interaction, central point of Bakhtinian theory, I used Mikhail Bakhtin's language theory as the basis for analyzing the interactions in the activities proposed. Distance Learning requires a transmission system and teaching strategies appropriate to the different technologies used. The didactic strategy of distance learning means choosing methods and structured instructional means to produce effective learning. The objective of this paper is to present reflections on distance learning and information and communication technology (ICT) in education, as well as provide an exploratory research to better define the problem, to improve the understanding of distance learning and the use of ICT's. In the exploratory research, with nonprobability sampling, data were obtained through a semi-structured questionnaire, developed electronically. Distance learning provides individuals with training and re-training. However, it is necessary to create conditions to improve communication between students, students and tutors, and students and teachers in the learning environment as demonstrated in table 3, and the media, as demonstrated in Table 4. A obra'Comunicação e Universidade: reflexões críticas'inova ao reunir para o leitor o pensamento teórico de atuantes pesquisadores do campo, como José Marques de Melo, Gaudêncio Torquato, Carlos Chaparro e Margarida Kunsch, a contribuição crítica dos professores Eduardo Magrone e Antônio Hohlfeldt, como também a experiência prática, resultado do trabalho de planejamento e gestão de ações de comunicação, realizado pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF), em Minas Gerais. A primeira parte da obra,'Pensar a Comunicação e a Universidade'apresenta importantes referenciais teóricos para o entendimento crítico da Comunicação na Universidade. Os artigos de Ângelo Ésther, Eugênia Barichello, Márcio Simeone Henriques, Wilson Bueno e Boanerges Lopes incorporam novas reflexões sobre a instituição no ambiente complexo da contemporaneidade. A segunda parte,'Retratos da Comunicação na UFJF', é composta por relatos e estudos de caso, que expõem de forma crítica os processos de criação e utilização de produtos e serviços desenvolvidos pelo Setor de Comunicação da UFJF.
