A 77-year-old professional gold craftsman ingested a white powder used in goldsmithing, mistaking the powder for a health supplement. He detected a strange taste and immediately fell sick, reported the incident to 911, and was taken to the emergency room. He died approximately 8.5 h post-ingestion despite treatment. There were no significant findings in the autopsy, the victim's heart blood sample, gastric contents, and the white powder the victim had taken were submitted to the department of forensic toxicology. Using scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive X-ray analysis, potassium and gold (Au) were detected in the white powder. Ion chromatography analysis detected cyanide. Concentrations of cyanide were 0.5 mg/L in heart blood and 13.3 mg/L in gastric contents. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of Au in the heart blood sample and gastric contents using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry detected concentrations of 79.8 mg/L and 2010.1 mg/L, respectively. Au and cyanide synergistically enhance cytotoxicity through inhibition of detoxification and increasing intracellular accumulation. In the present case, the detected blood cyanide concentration was sub or minimally lethal, and the blood Au concentration was high. The design and simulation of meshing of a single enveloping worm-gear drive with a localized bearing contact is considered. The bearing contact has a longitudinal direction and two branches of contact path. The purpose of localization is to reduce the sensitivity of the worm-gear drive to misalignment. The author's approach for localization of bearing contact is based on the proper mismatch of the surfaces of the hob and drive worm. The developed computer program allows the investigation of the influence of misalignment on the shift of the bearing contact and the determination of the transmission errors and the contact ratio. The developed approach has been applied for K type of single-enveloping worm-gear drives and the developed theory is illustrated with a numerical example. [S1050-0472(00)00502-X]

Lophophora is a member of the Cactaceae family, which contains two species: Lophophora williamsii and L. diffusa. Lophophora williamsii is an illegal plant containing mescaline, a hallucinogenic alkaloid. In this study, a novel method based on a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) assay was developed for identifying L. williamsii; this assay reliably detects SNPs within chloroplast DNA (rbcL, matK, and trnL-trnF IGS) and was validated for identifying Lophophora and L. williamsii simultaneously. The chloroplast DNA sequences from four L. williamsii and three L. diffusa plants were obtained and compared using DNA sequence data from approximately 300 other Cactaceae species available in GenBank. From this sequence data, a total of seven SNPs were determined to be suitable for identifying L. williamsii. A multiplex assay was constructed using the ABI PRISM ® SNaPshot™ Multiplex Kit (Applied Biosystems, Forster City, CA) to analyze species-specific SNPs. Using this multiplex assay, we clearly distinguished the Lophophora among 19 species in the Cactaceae family. Additionally, L. williamsii was distinguished from L. diffusa. These results suggest that the newly developed assay may help resolve crimes related to illegal distribution and use. Hair is one of the key samples for judging drug abuse in the field of forensic science. However, few studies have examined synthetic cannabinoids and their metabolites in human hair. Synthetic cannabinoids are a class of chemicals that bind to cannabinoid receptors, but they differ structurally from the cannabinoids found in cannabis. They have been sold sprayed on dried, shredded plant material under brand names such as "Spice" since the 2000s. In South Korea, synthetic cannabinoids have been widely distributed since 2009 and many types detected up to now. Unlike traditional drugs such as methamphetamine and cannabis, the abuse trends of synthetic cannabinoids were variable by regions and changed according to the times. If new types of synthetic cannabinoids become popular which has been altered in some structures, it becomes difficult to identify using exist analytical method. Therefore, it is important to develop a new analytical method for synthetic cannabinoids currently being abused in society. In this study, we developed simultaneous analytical methods for the detection of 18 synthetic cannabinoids and 41 of their metabolites in authentic human hair samples using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Selectivity, linearity, limits of detection (LODs), limits of quantification (LOQs), precision, accuracy, matrix effect, recovery, and process efficiency were evaluated, and all results were acceptable. Additionally, the distribution of synthetic cannabinoids in the head hair of Korean drug abusers from 2016 to 2018 was investigated. Hair samples from 43 individuals suspected of synthetic cannabinoid use were provided by law enforcement agencies. A regenerative peripheral nerve interface (RPNI) offers a therapeutic solution for nerve injury through reconstruction of the target muscle. However, implanting a transected peripheral nerve into an autologous skeletal muscle graft in RPNI causes donor-site morbidity, highlighting the need for tissue-engineered skeletal muscle constructs. Here, an engineered regenerative isolated peripheral nerve interface (eRIPEN) is developed using 3D skeletal cell printing combined with direct electrospinning to create a nanofiber membrane envelop for host nerve implantation. In this in vivo study, after over 8 months of RPNI surgery, the eRIPEN exhibits a minimum Feret diameter of 15-20 µm with a cross-sectional area of 100-500 µm 2 , representing the largest distribution of myofibers. Furthermore, neuromuscular junction formation and muscle contraction with a force of ≈28 N are observed. Notably, the decreased hypersensitivity to mechanical/thermal stimuli and an improved tibial functional index from -77 to -56 are found in the eRIPEN group. Advancements in bioprinting technology are driving the creation of complex, functional tissue constructs for use in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Various methods, including extrusion, jetting, and light-based bioprinting, have their unique advantages and drawbacks. Over the years, researchers and industry leaders have made significant progress in enhancing bioprinting techniques and materials, resulting in the production of increasingly sophisticated tissue constructs. Despite this progress, challenges still need to be addressed in achieving clinically relevant, human-scale tissue constructs, presenting a hurdle to widespread clinical translation. However, with ongoing interdisciplinary research and collaboration, the field is rapidly evolving and holds promise for personalized medical interventions. For many clinically prevalent severe injuries, the inherent regenerative capacity of skeletal muscle remains inadequate. Skeletal muscle tissue engineering (SMTE) seeks to meet this clinical demand. With continuous progress in biomedicine and related technologies including micro/nanotechnology and 3D printing, numerous studies have uncovered various intrinsic mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle regeneration and developed tailored biomaterial systems based on these understandings. Here, the skeletal muscle structure and regeneration process are discussed and the diverse biomaterial systems derived from various technologies are explored in detail. Biomaterials serve not merely as local niches for cell growth, but also as scaffolds endowed with structural or physicochemical properties that provide tissue regenerative cues such as topographical, electrical, and mechanical signals. They can also act as delivery systems for stem cells and bioactive molecules that have been shown as key participants in endogenous repair cascades. To achieve bench-to-bedside translation, the typical effect enabled by biomaterial systems and the potential underlying molecular mechanisms are also summarized. Insights into the roles of biomaterials in SMTE from cellular and molecular perspectives are provided. Musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders significantly burden patients and society, resulting in high healthcare costs and productivity loss. These disorders are the leading cause of physical disability, and their prevalence is expected to increase as sedentary lifestyles become common and the global population of the elderly increases. Proper innervation is critical to maintaining MSK function, and nerve damage or dysfunction underlies various MSK disorders, underscoring the potential of restoring nerve function in MSK disorder treatment. However, most MSK tissue engineering strategies have overlooked the significance of innervation. This review first expounds upon innervation in the MSK system and its importance in maintaining MSK homeostasis and functions. This will be followed by strategies for engineering MSK tissues that induce post-implantation in situ innervation or are pre-innervated. Subsequently, research progress in modeling MSK disorders using innervated MSK organoids and organs-on-chips (OoCs) is analyzed. Finally, the future development of engineering innervated MSK tissues to treat MSK disorders and recapitulate disease mechanisms is discussed. Background: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a growing concern among older adults, with limited effective pharmacological treatments available. Despite the potential of herbal medicine and acupuncture in managing MCI, there is a lack of research on their long-term effects on cognitive function and brain activity in clinical practice settings. This study aimed to address this gap by exploring the effects of a community-based program integrating herbal medicine and acupuncture on cognitive function and neural responses in older individuals with MCI. Methods: Nineteen individuals were enrolled from a pool of 250 individuals registered in the 2021 Busan Dementia Prevention & Care Program. Participants with MCI received herbal medicine, acupuncture, and pharmacopuncture treatments over a 6-month period. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was administered at baseline and after 3 and 6 months to evaluate cognitive function. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was used to measure prefrontal cortex activity during cognitive task performance, including verbal fluency, Stroop color and word, and digit span backward tests. Results: Seventeen participants (13 female; mean age, 69.5 years) with MCI completed the study. Following the 6-month intervention, they exhibited a significant increase in the MoCA total score over time [F(2.32) =10.59, p < 0.0001]. Additionally, the deoxygenated hemoglobin beta coefficient in the left frontopolar prefrontal cortex significantly decreased during the Stroop task after the intervention. Conclusion: The Dementia Prevention & Care Program, which integrates herbal medicine and acupuncture, may enhance cognitive function in individuals with MCI. Maintaining metabolic homeostasis is crucial for cellular and organismal health throughout their lifespans. The intricate link between metabolism and inflammation through immunometabolism is pivotal in maintaining overall health and disease progression. The multifactorial nature of metabolic and inflammatory processes makes study of the relationship between them challenging. Homologs of Saccharomyces cerevisiae silent information regulator 2 protein, known as Sirtuins (SIRTs), have been demonstrated to promote longevity in various organisms. As nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-dependent deacetylases, members of the Sirtuin family (SIRT1–7) regulate energy metabolism and inflammation. In this review, we provide an extensive analysis of SIRTs involved in regulating key metabolic pathways, including glucose, lipid, and amino acid metabolism. Furthermore, we systematically describe how the SIRTs influence inflammatory responses by modulating metabolic pathways, as well as inflammatory cells, mediators, and pathways. Current research findings on the preferential roles of different SIRTs in metabolic disorders and inflammation underscore the potential of SIRTs as viable pharmacological and therapeutic targets. Future research should focus on the development of promising compounds that target SIRTs, with the aim of enhancing their anti-inflammatory activity by influencing metabolic pathways within inflammatory cells. Purpose: This research aims to explore the perceived usefulness of audited social information in making economic decisions, in the eyes of both Tunisian financial analysts and bankers. Design/methodology/approach: The authors conduct an exploratory qualitative study using twelve semi-structured interviews: seven are carried out with financial analysts, and five are performed among bankers. Findings: This study's results reveal that financial analysts and bankers paid little attention to the audited social information in making investment/credit granting decisions. The authors also show that the low perceived usefulness of social audit is due to many reasons related to political, economic, regulatory, educational, cultural and cognitive factors. Originality/value: This study contributes to the current literature in several ways. First, it enriches the knowledge about the perceived usefulness of social audit. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first study to explore the perception of financial analysts and bankers to audited social information and its usefulness for decision-making. Second, the focus on the Tunisian context is interesting as it was marked, since the outbreak of the Jasmine Revolution, by the uncertainty and the instability of political, economic and social conditions. The study tested new oral plant‐based formulations (F) on rats with monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)‐induced osteoarthritis, measuring inflammation, antioxidant levels, paw size, stride, and analyzing knee joint images. Fifty‐six female Sprague Dawley rats were allocated into 8 groups: (1) Control, (2) MIA (OA induced with MIA), (3) MIA + F1 [curcuminoids+gingerols+acetyl‐11‐keto‐β boswellic acid (AKBA)], (4) MIA + F2 (curcuminoids+Withania glycosides+AKBA), (5) MIA + F3 (curcuminoids+total withanolides+AKBA), (6) MIA + F4 (curcuminoids, AKBA), (7) MIA + UCII (type II collagen), and (8) MIA + GCHON (Glucosamine Chondroitin). Treatments F1 to F4 reduced right joint diameter and improved stride length and paw area in OA rats. Despite improvements with treatments F1 to F4, there was no significant difference between these groups (p >.05). In OA animals, F1 to F4 treatments decreased MDA levels and increased antioxidant enzymes activities (p <.001). This was done by reducing levels of inflammatory markers and enzymes like IL‐1β, IL‐6, MMP‐8, TNF‐α, CRP, COMP, and LOX‐5, while increasing the anti‐inflammatory cytokine IL‐10. In conclusion, these plant‐based treatments significantly reduced osteoarthritis severity, slowed disease progression by reducing inflammation, and protected joints from damage, showing a protective effect in rats with induced osteoarthritis, likely due to their anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of an internal auditor's activities in Romania, through their specific activities, on ESG reporting and sustainable development goals (SDGs). Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) are three criteria by which an organization's operations are characterized as sustainable, responsible, or ethical. Even though, for business, the SDGs have been called "a 2030 purchase order for business and government action today", the alignment between environmental, social, and governance performance and sustainable development goals helps practitioners in observing corporate contributions to sustainable growth. This research aims to identify whether internal auditors in Romania are able to contribute to ESG reporting and the achievement of the sustainable development goals through specific objective assurance and advisory activities. Using the questionnaire, the data were collected from professional accountants who carry out internal audit missions. The main findings confirm a strong and directly significant connection between the internal audit's perception of the management's view of the SDGs and how the entity can contribute to achieving the SDG objectives. The results also showed a direct and medium-intensity impact of the variables, capturing the important role of internal audits in ESG reporting. Our study showed that internal audits can help with reporting ESG and sustainable development objectives through their activity. However, according to our statistical results, the internal auditors do not offer at all (or rarely offer) objective assurance and counseling related to these subjects. Moreover, it is observed that, in these situations, the management does not have a clear vision and has not taken measures to achieve the sustainable development goals and ESG factors. This study examines the influence of stakeholder pressures and family ownership on strategic decarbonization choices of German Mittelstand firms. It distinguishes between symbolic strategies focusing on compensating CO2-emissions and substantive strategies directed toward reducing carbon emissions. The relative pressure exerted by internal and external stakeholders on these strategic choices is examined. Data from 443 manufacturing firms reveal that overall stakeholder pressures increase the pursuit of decarbonization strategies. Internal stakeholders pressures are associated with increased reliance on substantive decarbonization strategies both in family-owned and non-family-owned firms. Pressure from external stakeholders are associated with increased reliance on both substantive and symbolic decarbonization strategies only in non-family-owned firms. Influenza B virus (IBV) stands as a paradox, often overshadowed by its more notorious counterpart, influenza A virus (IAV). Yet, it remains a captivating and elusive subject of scientific inquiry. Influenza B is important because it causes seasonal flu outbreaks that can lead to severe respiratory illnesses, including bronchitis, pneumonia, and exacerbations of chronic conditions like asthma. Limitations in the influenza B virus's epidemiological, immunological, and etiological evolution must be addressed promptly. This comprehensive review covers evolutionary epidemiology and pathogenesis, host-virus interactions, viral isolation and propagation, advanced molecular detection assays, vaccine composition and no animal reservoir for influenza B virus. Complex viral etiology begins with intranasal transmission of influenza B virus with the release of a segmented RNA genome that attacks host cell machinery for transcription and translation within the nucleus and the release of viral progeny. Influenza B virus prevalence in domesticated and wild canines, sea mammals, and birds is frequent, yet there is no zoonosis. The periodic circulation of influenza B virus indicates a 1-3-year cycle for monophyletic strain replacement within the Victoria strain due to frequent antigenic drift in the HA near the receptorbinding site (RBS), while the antigenic stability of Yamagata viruses portrays a more conservative evolutionary pattern. Additionally, this article outlines contemporary antiviral strategies, including pharmacological interventions and vaccination efforts. This article serves as a resource for researchers, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in the mysterious nature of the influenza B virus. Objective: This study points to probing the inclination and mapping knowledge domain of acupuncture for Parkinson's disease through bibliometrics. Methods: A search was conducted on 1 February 2024 using the Web of Science to identify papers published on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease. The analysis included scientific research, countries, organizations, authors/cited authors, keywords, journals, and cited references. Bibliometric data were analyzed using VOSviewer software, CiteSpace, GraphPad Prism, and Scimago Graphica. The studies on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease were visualized as a network map according to the publication year. Results: The cumulative publication trend on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease is increasing year by year. China is the leading contributor in this field. International collaboration is predominantly concentrated in Europe, while institutional collaboration is chiefly limited to Chinese universities specializing in traditional Chinese medicine. Park HJ is the most prolific author, with "Movement Disorders" being the journal with the most publications. "Brain Research" is identified as a key journal, reflecting a focus on neuroscience. Kim SN is the most cited author, while Eisenberg DM is a prominent author in this field. Research topics such as mouse models, systematic reviews, and non-motor symptoms are frequently explored, with messenger RNA of substantia nigra emerging as a notable keyword in this field. Choi YG's 2009 paper, published in the Neuroscience Letters journal, is a critical reference in this field. Key papers include Eisenberg DM's 1998 study on randomized trials of acupuncture for non-motor symptoms of PD, as well as research focusing on the neuroinflammatory regulatory mechanisms of acupuncture for PD. Public support is a critical factor in the outcome of interstate conflicts, yet, how it operates, interacts with hard power, or influences the overall military outlook remains surprisingly undertheorized. Public support has been particularly salient for such states as Finland and Ukraine that have faced opponents of vastly greater military size, capability, and sophistication. This paper advances an original theory on the strategic utility of public support for conflict through an analysis of the case of Taiwan, a potential current flashpoint for a great power war. This paper assesses trends in Taiwanese public support for resisting a Chinese invasion over time, identifies a major upswing in the public's willingness to fight, and argues that further coordination by state and societal actors could deter a Chinese attack or at least greatly increase the costs of an invasion and the likelihood of failure. The thermal conductivities of single-/bi-layer graphene and bulk-graphite are obtained using the Boltzmann transport equation (BTE) framework by accounting for three-phonon and four-phonon scatterings. For single-layer graphene, the thermal conductivity and interatomic force constants obtained using temperature-independent finite-difference, and temperature-dependent molecular dynamics-based approaches agree with each other. The use of the thermal snapshot approach to get temperature-dependent force constants results in a non-physical description of interatomic distances for single-layer graphene. The predicted thermal conductivity at room temperature using finite-difference based force constants is 800 W/m K, which is a severe under-prediction of experimentally measured values. For bi-layer graphene and bulk graphite, the thermal snapshot methodology is applicable and thermal conductivity changes by 25% and 5% with temperature-dependent force constants. The effect of four-phonon scattering is less than 10% on the predicted thermal conductivity of bi-layer graphene and graphite, and the obtained thermal conductivities using thermal snapshot methodology are in agreement with the literature. The limitation in the prediction of thermal conductivity of single-layer graphene via the BTE approach stems from non-accountability of temperature-dependence in finite-difference based force constants and non-physical description of interatomic bonds in thermal snapshot based force constants extraction for planar 2-atoms unitcell of single layer graphene. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the results of segmental hair analysis can be used to estimate patterns of methamphetamine (MA) use. Segmental hair analysis for MA and amphetamine (AP) was performed. Hair was cut into the hair root, consecutive 1 cm length segments and 1-4 cm length segments. Whole hair was also analyzed. The hair samples were incubated for 20 h in 1 mL methanol containing 1 % hydrochloric acid after washing the hair samples. Hair extracts were evaporated and derivatization was performed using trifluoroacetic anhydride in ethylacetate at 65 °C for 30 min. Derivatized extract was analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The 15 subjects consisted of 13 males and two females and their ages ranged from 25 to 42 (mean, 32). MA and AP concentrations in the whole hair ranged from 3.00 to 105.10 ng/mg (mean, 34.53) and from 0.05 to 4.76 ng/mg (mean, 2.42), respectively. Based on the analysis of the 1 cm length segmental hair, the results were interpreted in a way to distinguish between continuous use of MA (n = 10), no recent but previous use of MA (n = 3), and recent but no previous use of MA (n = 2). Furthermore, the individuals were interpreted as light, moderate, and heavy users based on concentration ranges previously published.

Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the impact of family involvement in ownership and governance on the quality of internal auditing. Design/methodology/approach: Leveraging a hand-collected data set of listed family firms from 2014 to 2020, this study uses regression analyses to investigate the impact of family ownership, family involvement on the board, family CEO and the generational stage of the family business on the quality of internal auditing. Findings: The results provide evidence that family ownership is positively associated with the quality of internal auditing, while later generational stages of family businesses have the opposite effect. Additional analyses reveal that the presence of a sustainability board sub-committee moderates the relationship between generational stages of family businesses and the quality of internal auditing function. Research limitations/implications: This paper does not consider country-institutional factors and other potentially family-related antecedents or governance factors that may affect the quality of internal auditing. Practical implications: The results are informative for investors and non-family stakeholders interested in understanding under which conditions family-related factors influence the quality of internal auditing functions. Originality/value: This study offers fresh evidence regarding the relationship between family-related factors and the quality of internal auditing and board sub-committees that moderate such a relationship in family businesses. Flexible electronics has been widely recognized as the future of electronics for a broad range of applications, which is also the foundation for wearable devices that can go on or even seamlessly integrate with the human skin. With the development of device miniaturization, diverse environmental operation and power density enhancement, people have realized the significance of thermal management in flexible electronics. Traditional thermal management methods that rely on active cooling systems often require the use of extensive power and bulk instruments, which consequently restricts the wearability and portability of the devices. Recent breakthroughs in passive cooling materials (PCMs) have offered advanced thermal management solutions for flexible electronics, enabling more opportunities for wearable devices in the fields of medicine, communication, entertainment and many others. This review concentrates on the fundamental principles of PCMs and their recent advances in both materials and devices for flexible electronics. Additionally, we explore potential applications of flexible electronics equipped with passive cooling interfaces in various scenarios, with a special focus on technological feasibility and benefits. Dental diseases, such as dental caries and periodontal disorders, constitute a major global health challenge, affecting millions worldwide and often resulting in tooth loss. Traditional dental treatments, though beneficial, typically cannot fully restore the natural functions and structures of teeth. Among these, the use of dental stem cells to generate functional tooth modules represents an emerging and promising approach in dental tissue engineering. These modules aim to closely replicate the intricate morphology and essential physiological functions of dental tissues. Recent advancements in regenerative research have not only enhanced the assembly techniques for these modules but also highlighted their therapeutic potential in addressing various dental diseases. Thymol (THY), as the natural monoterpene phenol, acts against oxidative stress and inflammatory processes. This study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects and possible molecular mechanisms of THY via formalin-induced mouse and egg albumin-induced chick models alongside molecular docking and molecular dynamic (MD) simulations. THY (7.5, 15, and 30 mg/kg) was investigated, compared to celecoxib and ketoprofen (42 mg/kg), as antiinflammatory standards. THY dose-dependently and significantly (p < 0.05) decreased paw-licking and edema diameter parameters in formalin (phases I and II) and egg albumin-induced models. Moreover, THY (15 mg/kg) exerted better anti-inflammatory effects in combination with the standard drug ketoprofen than alone and with celecoxib. In silico studies demonstrated elevated binding affinities of THY with cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) than the COX-1 enzyme, and the ligand binds at a similar location where ketoprofen and celecoxib interact. The results of MD simulations confirmed the stability of the test ligand. THY exerted anti-inflammatory effects on Swiss mice and young chicks, possibly by interacting with COX-2. The continued miniaturization of chips demands highly thermally conductive materials and effective thermal management strategies. Particularly, the high‐field transport of the devices built with 2D materials is limited by self‐heating. Here a systematic control of heat flow in single‐side fluorinated graphene (FG) with varying degrees of fluorination is reported, revealing a superior room‐temperature thermal conductivity as high as 128 W m−1 K−1. Monolayer graphene/FG lateral heterostructures with seamless junctions are approached for device fabrication. Efficient in‐plane heat removal paths from graphene channel to side FG are created, contributing significant reduction of the channel peak temperature and improvement in the current‐carrying capability and power density. Molecular dynamics simulations indicate that the interfacial thermal conductance of the heterostructure is facilitated by the high degree of overlap in the phonon vibrational spectra. Printed micro‐supercapacitors (MSCs) have shown broad prospect in flexible and wearable electronics. Most of previous studies focused on printing the electrochemically active materials paying less attention to other key components like current collectors and electrolytes. This study presents an all‐printing strategy to fabricate in‐plane flexible and substrate‐free MSCs with hierarchical encapsulation. This new type of "all‐in‐one" MSC is constructed by encapsulating the in‐plane interdigital current collectors and electrodes within the polyvinyl‐alcohol‐based hydrogel electrolyte via sequential printing. The bottom electrolyte layer of this fully printed MSCs helps protect the device from the limitation of conventional substrate, showing excellent flexibility. The MSCs maintain a high capacitance retention of 96.84% even in a completely folded state. An optimal electrochemical performance can be achieved by providing ample and shorter transport paths for ions. The MSCs using commercial activated carbon as the active material are endowed with a high specific areal capacitance of 1892.90 mF cm−2 at a current density of 0.3 mA cm−2, and an outstanding volumetric energy density of 9.20 mWh cm−3 at a volumetric power density of 6.89 mW cm−3. For demonstration, a thermo‐hygrometer is stably powered by five MSCs which are connected in series and wrapped onto a glass rod. Four-dimensional (4D) printing, combining three-dimensional (3D) printing with time-dependent stimuli-responsive shape transformation, eliminates the limitations of the conventional 3D printing technique for the fabrication of complex hollow constructs. However, existing 4D printing techniques have limitations in terms of the shapes that can be created using a single shape-changing object. In this paper, we report an advanced 4D fabrication approach for vascular junctions, particularly T-junctions, using the 4D printing technique based on coordinated sequential folding of two or more specially designed shape-changing elements. In our approach, the T-junction is split into two components, and each component is 4D printed using different synthesized shape memory polyurethanes and their nanohybrids, which have been synthesized with varying hard segment contents and by incorporating different weight percentages of photo-responsive copper sulfide-polyvinyl pyrrolidone nanoparticles. The formation of a T-junction is demonstrated by assigning different shape memory behaviors to each component of the T-junction. A cell culture study with human umbilical vein endothelial cells reveals that the cells proliferate over time, and almost 90% of cells remain viable on day 7. Finally, the formation of the T-junction in the presence of near-infrared light has been demonstrated after seeding the endothelial cells on the programmed flat surface of the two components and fluorescence microscopy at day 3 and 7 reveals that the cells adhered well and continue to proliferate over time. We study whether and how the monitoring quality of the board of directors is associated with the choice of providers of assurance for sustainability disclosures. We also examine whether this relation depends on companies' economic, legal, and social environment. In an international empirical study considering five categories of assurance providers, we find that key board attributes, including board size, frequency of board meetings, CEO separation, proportion of women on the board, and the existence of a sustainability committee affect the type of assurance provider chosen by companies. Overall, companies with higher board monitoring quality are more likely to appoint a Big 4 assurer for their sustainability disclosures. Companies with a sustainability committee are more likely to engage an engineering firm, while firms with more board meetings are more likely to appoint an expert assurer. Moreover, we find that companies based in countries with strong environments are more likely to engage an external assurance provider, particularly a Big 4 assurer or an engineering firm. Overall, our results indicate that international sustainability disclosure assurance choices depend on corporate governance practices, as well as countries' economic, social and legal environment. Recently, cubic boron arsenide (c-BAs) has attracted global attention due to its higher lattice thermal conductivity (κ L), which is comparable to diamond, and excellent thermal properties. Can c-BAs achieve the leap in κ L after transforming its structure from three-dimensional (3D) to two-dimensional (2D) like diamond to graphene? Previous studies have only investigated the κ L considering three-phonon scattering and isotope scattering, and the calculated results are diverse. In this study, we first calculate second-order interatomic force constants (IFCs) and third-order IFCs to iteratively solve the Boltzmann transport equation (BTE) and to obtain the κ L 3 of monolayer hexagonal BX (X = P, As, Sb), h-BX (X = P, As, Sb), considering only three-phonon and isotope scattering. The corresponding κ L 3 of h-BX are 278.2, 205.7, and 20.2 W/mK at room temperature, and we explain the monotonous change that κ L 3 decreases with the increase of average atomic mass (mavg) different from previous studies. Subsequently we use regular residual analysis (RRA) to determine the necessity of including four-phonon scattering when calculating the κ L of monolayer h-BX. By calculating the fourth-order IFCs, we obtain the κ L 3 + 4 of monolayer h-BX including four-phonon scattering. The values of κ L 3 + 4 at room temperature are 61.12, 37.99, and 5.73 W/mK, which are highly consistent with the κ L ∞ of monolayer h-BX as predicted by the phonon spectral energy density (SED) method. The phonon SED method considers all-order scattering and gives values of 54.05 ± 21.48 W/mK (h-BP), 18.20 ± 4.47 W/mK (h-BAs), and 2.46 ± 0.34 W/mK (h-BSb), respectively. Our results show that the influence of four-phonon scattering on the κ L of monolayer h-BX is significant, and the κ L 3 + 4 and κ L ∞ still undergo monotonic changes after including four-phonon scattering. The main factors that determine the low (ultra-low) κ L of monolayer h-BAs (h-BSb) are large mavg and weaker bonding strength, the existence of intermediate frequency ZO and scattered acoustic branches, the strong anharmonicity caused by the in-plane vibrations of As (Sb) atoms, and four-phonon scattering. Objectives: This study aimed to explore the current status and trends of acupuncture for neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) in the last decade and provide new insights for researchers in future studies. Methods: The publications concerning acupuncture treatment for NDs published between 2014 and 2023 were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection. We used CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze data on numbers of annual publications, countries, institutions, cited journals, cited authors, cited references, keywords, and citation bursts about acupuncture for NDs. Results: A total of 635 publications were obtained from 2014 to 2023. We identified the most prolific journals, countries, institutions, authors, patterns of authorship, and the main direction of future research in the field of acupuncture for NDs in the last decade. The country, institution, and journal with the most publications are China (389 articles), Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (56 articles), and Evidence Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (42 articles), respectively. The high-frequency keywords focused on "Alzheimer's disease," "Parkinson's disease," "acupuncture," "dementia," and "electroacupuncture." The top five keywords in terms of centrality were "cerebral ischemia," "acupuncture stimulation," "fMRI," "apoptosis," and "deep brain stimulation." Conclusion: The results from this bibliometric study provide insight into the research trends in acupuncture therapy for NDs, and the current status and trends of the past decade, which may help researchers confirm the current status, hotspots, and frontier trends in this field. Foodborne illnesses can be infectious and dangerous, and most of them are caused by bacteria. Some common food-related bacteria species exist widely in nature and pose a serious threat to both humans and animals; they can cause poisoning, diseases, disabilities and even death. Rapid, reliable and cost-effective methods for bacterial detection are of paramount importance in food safety and environmental monitoring. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR), lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFIA) and electrochemical methods have been widely used in food safety and environmental monitoring. In this paper, the recent developments (2013–2023) covering PCR, LFIA and electrochemical methods for various bacterial species (Salmonella, Listeria, Campylobacter, Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli)), considering different food sample types, analytical performances and the reported limit of detection (LOD), are discussed. It was found that the bacteria species and food sample type contributed significantly to the analytical performance and LOD. Detection via LFIA has a higher average LOD (24 CFU/mL) than detection via electrochemical methods (12 CFU/mL) and PCR (6 CFU/mL). Salmonella and E. coli in the Pseudomonadota domain usually have low LODs. LODs are usually lower for detection in fish and eggs. Gold and iron nanoparticles were the most studied in the reported articles for LFIA, and average LODs were 26 CFU/mL and 12 CFU/mL, respectively. The electrochemical method revealed that the average LOD was highest for cyclic voltammetry (CV) at 18 CFU/mL, followed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) at 12 CFU/mL and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) at 8 CFU/mL. LOD usually decreases when the sample number increases until it remains unchanged. Exponential relations (R2 > 0.95) between LODs of Listeria in milk via LFIA and via the electrochemical method with sample numbers have been obtained. Finally, the review discusses challenges and future perspectives (including the role of nanomaterials/advanced materials) to improve analytical performance for bacterial detection. The increasing demand for high‐performance devices on heat dissipation makes it approach the bottleneck even for metals with high thermal conductivities. The coating of only one layer of graphene, the heat dissipation performances of Cu, Ag, and Al can be further enhanced, e.g., with a maximum temperature reduction by ≈9% for a Cu foil is demonstrated. Molecular dynamics (MD) analysis of spectral phonon transmission reveals that low‐frequency phonons play a significant role in the thermal transport within the Cu/single‐layer graphene (SLG) system, and the high‐frequency phonons exhibit substantial mismatch. It suggests that the thermal anisotropy of graphene enables a rapid heat dispersion in the in‐plane direction and provides an effective thermal insulation in the out‐of‐plane direction. The thermal conductivity calculations demonstrate an enhanced participation of phonons in heat conduction by the graphene layer, indicating a novel heat conduction mechanism in the Cu/single‐layer graphene system. These findings highlight the positive impact of graphene on the heat conduction of metals, and they will hold crucial implications for the design and application of graphene‐based thermal devices is believed. Amidst efforts to combat high corruption incidence in Ghana, the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) was enacted to investigate and prosecute specific cases of alleged or suspected corruption offenses in accordance with the United Nations Convention against Corruption. Contrariwise there is a weak accountability, probity, and transparency in the Ghanaian Public Sector as asserted by the Transparency International release (2018-2022). Against this backdrop, this aims to analyze the implications of internal audit efficacy (measured with; risk management, environmental sensitivity, and audit effectiveness), on energy saving behavior, and develop a baseline model to enhance energy saving behavior through sustainability audit. The paper utilized a quantitative research approach and cross-sectional survey design to draw data from 405 public officials across different public sector agencies in Ghana. Variance-Based Structural Equation Modeling and SMART-PLS version 3.3.8 have been used to validate the hypotheses herein. The paper has found that internal audit efficacy has significant effect on sustainability audit and energy saving behavior. Moreover, the paper has revealed sustainability audit significantly mediates the relationship between internal audit efficacy and sustainable energy saving behavior among public sector officials. These indicative results have implications on the newly developed model that could be used to enhance energy saving behavior in a country where such studies have been inadequately explored. These results have reaffirmed the relevance of internal audit efficacy and sustainability audit in energy transition polices as well as the realization of sustainable development goals. Neurodegenerative diseases refer to a battery of medical conditions that affect the survival and function of neurons in the brain, which are mainly presented with progressive loss of cognitive and/or motor function. Acupuncture showed benign effects in improving neurological deficits, especially on movement and cognitive function impairment. Here, we reviewed the therapeutic mechanisms of acupuncture at the neural circuit level in movement and cognition disorders, summarizing the influence of acupuncture in the dopaminergic system, glutamatergic system, γ-amino butyric acid-ergic (GABAergic) system, serotonergic system, cholinergic system, and glial cells at the circuit and synaptic levels.
