Abstract
- A study exploring the determinants of subsidiary autonomy in setting human resource management (HRM) practices within the U.S.-parented multinational enterprises (MNEs) in Europe and Australia is presented. Findings show that the U.S. MNEs show greater centralization of control over HRM where the subsidiary faces global matters in coordinated market economies versus liberal market economies with low union density.
