Abstract
- Information about the relationship between computer games and cultural policy in Europe from a chapter of the book "Convergence and Fragmentation" is presented. It looks at historical and aesthetic reasons for why computer games are now being considered of cultural and political importance. It discusses the widespread tendency among cultural experts as well as decision-makers to value games mainly as narrative. An overview and a brief evaluation of some overlooked values offered by different computer games and practices are presented.
