Abstract

Researchers at Hacettepe University School of Medicine have developed a new method, lymph node ACTH washout, to identify the source of ACTH production in a case of metastatic medullary thyroid carcinoma. This method was used on a 23-year-old male with Cushing's syndrome resulting from medullary thyroid cancer, leading to a diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The study highlights the potential effectiveness of lymph node ACTH washout as a diagnostic tool in cases of ACTH-dependent Cushing syndrome. [Extracted from the article]
