Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Sapienza University of Rome explores the use of peer assisted learning (PAL) in the field of cardiology. The researchers conducted a meta-ethnographic synthesis of qualitative studies to examine the perceived value and effectiveness of PAL in fostering learning. The analysis revealed that PAL is effective when implemented in a safe environment, contributes to the development of students' abilities and identity, but also has potential drawbacks. The study concludes that PAL should be implemented with precautions such as proper organization, tutor selection, training and support, and integration into the medical curriculum.
