1. 面向未来守护城市安全的地质工作方略 ——中国科学院院士何满潮教授接受本刊专访.
- Abstract
In the afternoon of August 7, 2023, Professor HE Manchao, an academician at the Chinese University of Mining & Technology-Beijing, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and chairman of the Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, was interviewed by Professor ZHAN Longxi, vice president of the Shanghai Institute of Geological Survey and editor-in-chief of the journal of Shanghai Land & Resources. Academician HE’s research concerning the strategy and path of urban safety has provided profound insights in the development of future-oriented geological studies and urban safety from the aspects of ground subsidence disaster prevention, underground space development, geological big data, and open sharing of scientific data. In the interview, Academician HE explained that for megacities like Shanghai, urban safety strategies that include prediction and early warning are central to urban geology research. Academician HE also pointed out that basic studies on the interaction of engineering loads, Quaternary stratigraphic systems, and basement rock layers are crucial to urban safety prediction and early warning, and that deep geology is the key direction of future research on land subsidence and underground space. Strengthening geological investigation and research, establishing a massive database, constructing an open scientific ecology of land subsidence, and realizing data sharing, knowledge sharing, and cooperation mechanisms are important paths to realize quantitative to qualitative changes in the discipline. Academician HE expressed his hope that engineering practices will be part of the training of young geoscientists and scientists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
