In this case-control study, to determine the effect of early maladaptive schemas and childhood traumas under risk of alcohol and substance use in women was aimed. The case group of this study consisted of 40 women diagnosed with alcohol use disorder and/or substance use disorder in Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment Centers (AMATEMs) and the control group consisted of 80 women with no diagnosis of alcohol use disorder and/or substance use disorder in Mother and Child Health and Family Planning (ACSAP) Center in a city. Sociodemographic information form, BAPI Alcohol and Substance Scale, Young Schema Questionnaire, and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire were used in study. Chi-square, Mann-Whitney U, Spearman's correlation tests and logistic regression analysis was used for statistical analysis. According to the results of binary analyses results; being married, having children, living with spouses and children reduce the risk of alcohol or substance use in women; high income, smoking and having alcohol use disorder, or substance use disorder in relatives increase the risk of alcohol or substance use in women. According to the multiple analysis results, smoking is 22.6 fold (CI: 5.58-91.92), relatives substance use disorder 10.3 fold (CI: 1.79-59.73) increases the risk of alcohol or substance use in women. Background: Urinary incontinence (UI) is a prevalent health concern among women globally. However, its prevalence, associated risk factors, and impact on quality of life among Saudi women remain underexplored. Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of UI, identify its risk factors, and understand its impact on the quality of life among Saudi women. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we surveyed Saudi women aged between 18 and 50 years. Participants were recruited from shopping malls to reflect a diverse demographic. The questionnaire included detailed questions about the participants' experiences with urinary incontinence, their lifestyle and health-related risk factors, and the impact of the condition on various aspects of their daily lives. Results: The study found a 32.4% prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) among 516 women. Risk factors included age, marital status, BMI, childbirth, and vaginal surgery. UI prevalence increased with age and was more common in married women, women who had children, and those with vaginal surgery history. However, only 29.3% sought medical advice, and 55.2% reported no improvement after consultation. Urinary incontinence impacted respondents' lives in several ways with 38.9% reporting limitations in social activities, approximately 50% experiencing some degree of impact on household tasks, and about 19.4% facing significant or extreme impact on job or daily activities. Conclusions: UI has a substantial prevalence among Saudi women and significantly affects their quality of life. Abstract Background After natural disasters, the occurrence of mental health problems and adverse effects on reproductive health in women of reproductive age can be attributed to a multitude of factors, including the deterioration of health facilities, a shortage of qualified health professionals, a lack of socio-economic stability, and a paucity of familial and community support. Methods The descriptive correlational study was conducted through social networks with 405 women who had experienced the disaster of the century 8 months after (between November and December 2023) the earthquake. The snowball sampling method was used to obtain the research data. The questionnaire form, developed for the purpose of data collection, was disseminated to women who consented to participate in the study through social networks. The data were evaluated using a variety of statistical techniques, including number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling. Results According to the results of linear regression analysis, these were found to be predictors of the desire to avoid pregnancy: having housing problems (β-coefficient 0.173; p = .008), having a damaged home (β-coefficient. 276; p = .009), sleep patterns (β-coefficient 0.433; p = .022), eating habits (β-coefficients 0.248, 0.044), use of psychiatric medication (β-coefficient 0.436, p = .003), and problems related to the food and water supply (β-coefficient 0.127, p = .003). In addition, a structural equation model (SEM) was established to examine the relationship between these variables and mental well-being and pregnancy avoidance. Only the model constructed with mental well-being demonstrated significance in the SEM analysis. Conclusions This study shows that women’s mental health is negatively affected in unpredictable emergencies such as earthquakes and that poor mental health negatively affects pregnancy planning. The findings of the study may help to guide health professionals working in the field of women’s health to protect women’s mental health in emergency situations, to provide counseling about pregnancy planning, and to provide social and psychological support programs.

This study aimed to investigate the experiences of women who survived intimate partner violence (IPV) and received services from the Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers (VPMCs) in terms of post-traumatic growth (PTG). This research is a case study from qualitative research designs. The study was conducted with 7 women who survived IPV and received services from VPMCs for at least one year and was approved to participate in the research by the institutional psychologist. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using an unstructured interview form. Data were analyzed by thematic content analysis. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Studies and Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research checklists were used to improve the quality of qualitative research. After transcribing the interviews conducted for the purpose and scope of the study, three main themes were identified, namely PTG barriers, PTG facilitators, and PTG indicators, along with 10 sub-themes under these themes. Although IPV causes many negativities in the life of the victim, it has been found that women who are adequately supported can experience PTG. Thus, it is crucial that individuals and institutions working with victims have an understanding of women's PTG potential and identify strategies for supporting it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The bond with healthcare services is a crucial dimension in facilitating the maternal journey of lesbian and bisexual women couples. This study aimed to analyze the culturally constructed meanings regarding the bond with healthcare services and professionals by lesbian and bisexual women who experienced dual motherhood. It is a qualitative investigation grounded in interpretative anthropology. The research corpus was built based on in-depth interviews with 10 lesbian and bisexual women, aged 30 to 39 years. The results indicate that access to parenthood, until its realization, involved a journey permeated by satisfactions and sufferings triggered by failed attempts and gestational losses. Challenges experienced in healthcare provision were also reported due to prejudices, lack of empathy, and unpreparedness of professionals in dealing with prenatal care for lesbian and bisexual women couples. Manifestations of discrimination were more pronounced concerning non-gestational mothers. The findings offer insights into implementing policies that prioritize humanization and planning programs and healthcare services based on culturally sensitive care for lesbian and bisexual women couples as they transition into dual motherhood. Abstract Background The prevalence of falls among mothers (18–49 years old) in Saudi Arabia has been overlooked and understudied. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the 1-year prevalence, rate of falls, and consequent injuries among mothers in Saudi Arabia. Methods In this cross-sectional study, a self-administered online questionnaire, including sociodemographic data and questions related to the history of falls and consequent injuries during the past 12 months, was disseminated through social media in Saudi Arabia. Results A convenience sample of 986 mothers were voluntarily recruited for this study with a median age of 33 years and an interquartile range of 10 years. The 1-year prevalence of falls among mothers was 14.1 % (n = 139), and 52.5 % (n = 73/139) of the fallers experienced more than one fall. Among mothers who had experienced a fall, 25.4 % (n = 33/139) experienced a fall incident during pregnancy. The reported consequences of falls were pain in 37.4 % (n = 52/139), muscle and ligament injuries in 7.2 % (n = 10/139), and fractures in 2.2 % (n = 3/139) of participants. The study’s findings indicate that asthma and high cholesterol level predicts the risk of falls in mothers. Conclusions According to our convenience sampling, 14.1% of mothers had experienced one or more falls in the past 12 months. The increased prevalence of falls among this age group of women supports the idea that falls are not only an issue for the older adult population, but fall prevention strategies for this age range are also needed.

Abstract Background Pregnancy is a crucial transition moment exposing women to potential mental health problems, especially depressive disturbances. Sociodemographic, pregnancy-related, and psychological factors have been related to depressive symptoms in the perinatal period. This study aims at (1) exploring personality and individual factors related with perinatal depressive symptoms, and (2) testing the mediating role of personality in the relation between characteristics of the woman’s family of origin and depressive symptoms. Methods Women in the perinatal period admitted to the gynecology unit for motherhood-related routine assessments (n = 241) were included in the study. A survey on individual sociodemographic, clinical, and pregnancy-related factors was administered, also including the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and the BIG-5 personality test. Abstract Objectives: to evaluate associated factors with sexual dysfunction among middle-aged women. Methods: cross-sectional and analytical study was carried out with climacteric women attended at a Family Health Strategy Unit in the city of Montes Claros, MG. Brazil. The eligible women answered a question form containing sociodemographic, behavioral, anthropometric, gynecological factors and sexuality. The Body Mass Index and waist circumference were used to assess nutritional status and metabolic risk. To evaluate quality of life and sexual performance the Menopause Rating Scale and the Sexual Quotient - Female Version were used, respectively. Bivariate analysis and hierarchical multiple regression were used to identify associated factors with sexual dysfunction in the climacteric period. Results: among 195 women, 29.6% had sexual dysfunction. The prevalence of unsatisfactory sexual performance was higher among women who reported moderate to severe climacteric symptoms (OR=2.47) and lower schooling level was also associated (OR=1.95). However, age at menarche below 12 years (OR=0.43) and non-white (OR=0.36) seem to have a protective effect for good sexual performance. Conclusion: the prevalence of sexual dysfunction was high and the level of schooling and climacteric symptomatology were associated factors with this outcome.

Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is a challenging condition affecting an estimated 15% of females in the United States. Multiorgan system dysfunction results in the complex clinical pain presentation. Similar to other chronic pain syndromes, CPP is influenced by biopsychosocial factors and requires a multimodal approach for optimal pain management. Introduction and objective: Despite several studies investigating satisfaction in romantic relationships, researchers are still looking for factors that can explain the longevity of relationships but also provide for the right therapeutic effects for couples experiencing a crisis in their relationship. One of the less empirically explored factors affecting satisfaction in romantic relationships, and especially sexual satisfaction, is the level of differentiation of self. Materials and methods: In order to verify the presented theoretical assumptions, a study was conducted in which a range of variables related to the quality of romantic relationships were introduced, and then their correlation with the level of self-differentiation of young women was analysed. Results: Autonomy, understood as the ability to maintain one's boundaries, is an aspect of self-differentiation that has a particularly positive impact on the quality of sexual life -- on satisfaction and assertiveness, motivation, consciousness, and esteem. Conclusion: The findings of the study provide an important contribution to the knowledge of women's sexual functioning and, in addition, can be used as guidance for therapeutic effects in the event of difficulties, such as anxiety, lack of motivation or desire, experienced in relationships. Abstract Background The composite coverage index (CCI) provides an integrated perspective towards universal health coverage in the context of reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health. Given the sample design of most household surveys does not provide coverage estimates below the first administrative level, approaches for achieving more granular estimates are needed. We used a model-based geostatistical approach to estimate the CCI at multiple resolutions in Peru. Methods We generated estimates for the eight indicators on which the CCI is based for the departments, provinces, and areas of 5 × 5 km of Peru using data from two national household surveys carried out in 2018 and 2019 plus geospatial covariates. Bayesian geostatistical models were fit using the INLA-SPDE approach. We assessed model fit using cross-validation at the survey cluster level and by comparing modelled and direct survey estimates at the department-level. Results CCI coverage in the provinces along the coast was consistently higher than in the remainder of the country. Jungle areas in the north and east presented the lowest coverage levels and the largest gaps between and within provinces. The greatest inequalities were found, unsurprisingly, in the largest provinces where populations are scattered in jungle territory and are difficult to reach. Conclusions Our study highlighted provinces with high levels of inequality in CCI coverage indicating areas, mostly low-populated jungle areas, where more attention is needed. We also uncovered other areas, such as the border with Bolivia, where coverage is lower than the coastal provinces and should receive increased efforts. More generally, our results make the case for high-resolution estimates to unveil geographic inequities otherwise hidden by the usual levels of survey representativeness.

Abstract Background In recent years, moderate physical activity has attracted the attention of experts and women as a way to cope with premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Studies investigated the effects of exercise on PMS, but only a few reports focused on the relationship between physical activity, which included not only exercise but also routine bodily movements, and PMS. Therefore, the present study investigated the relationship between the amount of physical activity and PMS symptoms among sexually mature female students. The family of origin also plays an indirect role on perinatal depressive symptoms. Introduction: Every second woman suffering from infertility asks for medical help. There is public concern that vaccination-induced antibodies (Ab) are negatively associated with fertility. A recent study has demonstrated an association between SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and a lower pregnancy rate in the subsequent 60 days. Consequently, Ab could affect fertility success in assisted reproduction. Methods: To address this question, we compared fertilization outcomes of vaccinated (n=35) and nonvaccinated (n=34) women. Paired serum samples and multiple follicular fluids (FF) (up to 10 from the same donor) were collected during the course of assisted reproduction and characterized for oocyte quality, the presence of Ab and trace element concentrations. Results: The results showed a positive correlation of vaccination-induced neutralizing activity of SARS-CoV-2-Ab in serum and FF. On average, Ab concentrations in serum were higher than in the corresponding FF. However, wide variations in SARS-CoV-2 Ab titers were observed between different FF, correlating to trace element levels, even when retrieved from the same donor. Discussion: Overall, FF contents are highly variable, but no negative association was observed between Ab in serum or FF and fertilization success and oocyte development, supporting the safety of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination during assisted reproduction. Background: Sexual and reproductive health are crucial issues for adolescents and young adults. However, detailed national Georgian data about sexual behaviors and contraceptive use is lacking. Until now, health care programs, family planning efforts have predominantly focused on female population. Fact indicates that-decisions should be made by partners together. Both sides have to be involved equally. A medical-psychological-sociological literature review shows that, beyond the contraceptive failure it is essential to spot high risk situations and focus on the meaning behind these statistics. This article aims to critically review and summarizes some of the key findings regarding the level of knowledge about contraception methods based on various sources. Literature overview aims to explore the trends, patterns, and factors influencing the use of contraception in Georgia, based on recent studies and statistic. In the text, we will be taking a deep dive into the literature available on various contraceptive methods available in Georgia and the factors that affect their usage. Methods: The PubMed, Google scholar, Science Direct searched for articles published from 2000 with the following key words: "Contraceptive Method"; "contraception"; "Birth Control"; "Woman's Health"; "Contraceptive Failure"; "Unintended Pregnancies". Articles without abstract, and those articles whose titles were not relevant to the purpose of this review were excluded. Most of the articles (more than 150 from total 178) were published in English. Also, non-English manuscripts were excluded. Result: Totally 178 manuscripts were found. Most of the articles (150 from total 178) were published in English. Out of 150 articles 45 were Research article and 105 were review article. Conclusions: Further research is needed to clarify The Factors that influence the Choice of Contraceptive Method among Georgian adolescents and young adults. What is the difference regarding pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) between women with and without UI, employed at a medical centre? There is a dearth of literature comparing PFMT between women with or without UI in the general population and none, specifically, for women employed at a medical centre. Urinary incontinence (UI) is a common problem for all ages, including females employed at medical centres. PFMT is the first‐line intervention recommended for women with UI. The study aimed to compare women with and without UI employed at a medical centre, regarding knowledge, source of knowledge and practices of PFMT. This was a cross‐sectional comparative study, with a convenience sample of 323 women who were employed at a medical centre, aged 20–50 years old. Two validated questionnaires were used: The International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire‐Short Form (ICIQ‐SF) and a new questionnaire, developed for this study, entitled the PFMT Patient reported Outcome Measures (PFMT‐P). Ethical approval was granted with questionnaire completion and implied consent. Data was analysed by SPSS version 22, including descriptive statistics, independent t‐test and Mann–Whitney. From the 323 participants, 56 (17.3%) had UI (UI group—UIG), 221 (68. 4%) were without UI (continence group—CG), and 46 (14.2%) did not answer the ICIQ‐SF. Most of the participants were nurses (208 [66.5%]). There was a high level of knowledge for both groups without a significant difference between the groups. Regarding knowledge about recommended PFMT frequency, 37 (68.5%) in the UIG knew the correct answer compared to 108 (52.2%) in the CG, p = 0.03. The most common information source for all participants was the internet (79 [28.9%]). Most of the participants did not receive information from nurses, doctors and physiotherapists during their post‐partum period. For both groups, lower scores were found for PFMT practice, 9.9 [6.4] in the UIG, 7.8 [4.10] in the CG, (with a maximum score of 35), p = 0.02. Two hundred and ninety‐five (91%) participants reported that they are not currently practicing PFMT, and of them, 46 (15.6%) would like to learn PFMT. Knowledge and exposure to a source of knowledge regarding PMFT were not translated into actual technique practice. Women with UI practice PFMT more frequently than women without UI. A limitation of the study was that it was cross‐sectional with a convenience sample of women employees with the majority being nurses. This may also have affected the knowledge component, as PFMT is studied in nursing school. The eligible women answered a question form containing sociodemographic, behavioral, anthropometric, gynecological factors and sexuality. The Body Mass Index and waist circumference were used to assess nutritional status and metabolic risk. To evaluate quality of life and sexual performance the Menopause Rating Scale and the Sexual Quotient - Female Version were used, respectively. Bivariate analysis and hierarchical multiple regression were used to identify associated factors with sexual dysfunction in the climacteric period. Results: among 195 women, 29.6% had sexual dysfunction. The prevalence of unsatisfactory sexual performance was higher among women who reported moderate to severe climacteric symptoms (OR=2.47) and lower schooling level was also associated (OR=1.95). However, age at menarche below 12 years (OR=0.43) and non-white (OR=0.36) seem to have a protective effect for good sexual performance. It is known that sexual problems increase with age but little is known about the predictors of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in Brazilian climacteric women. To identify predictive factors for FSD in climacteric women. This is a cross-sectional population-based study carried out through a household survey. The measures investigated were sociodemographic characteristics, depressive symptoms, level of physical activity, presence of FSD, self-rated health and sleep satisfaction. A total of 381 climacteric, sexually active women were included, with a mean age of 55.04 (±7.21) years. The prevalence of FSD was 38.3%. All variables investigated were associated with FSD (P <.05). In the final model, the predictors for FSD were low satisfaction with sleep (OR 4.20; 95% CI 2.32–7.62), advanced age (OR 1.04; 95% CI 1.00–1.08), low education level (OR 0.90; 95% CI 0.85–0.97) and having a partner (OR 0.35; 95% CI 0.16–0.76). These aspects deserve attention from the health team to prevent and identify FSD early in life in climacteric women. This study support existing data about risk factors for FSD in climacteric women. However, it is not possible to attribute causality to any of the correlates identified, which is a limitation of cross-sectional studies. Background: In recent years, moderate physical activity has attracted the attention of experts and women as a way to cope with premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Studies investigated the effects of exercise on PMS, but only a few reports focused on the relationship between physical activity, which included not only exercise but also routine bodily movements, and PMS. Therefore, the present study investigated the relationship between the amount of physical activity and PMS symptoms among sexually mature female students. Methods: A total of 381 female university students in Japan were surveyed using a paper or web-based questionnaire with the same content. The questionnaire consisted of basic information, PMS symptoms, and physical activity based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Participants were divided into two groups (≥ 3000 The Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET)-minutes/week and < 3000 MET-minutes/week) based on their total physical activity as calculated using the IPAQ guidelines. The two groups were then compared in terms of the severity of their PMS physical and psychological symptoms as calculated based on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' PMS diagnostic criteria. The Wilcoxon's rank-sum test was used for statistical analyses. We then divided the participants based on the presence or absence of each symptom and used the chi-square test to compare the intergroup differences in ratios. The statistical significance level was set at p < 0.05. Results: Those with total physical activity of ≥ 3000 MET-minutes/week had lower total PMS symptom scores (p < 0.01), physical symptom scores (p = 0.01), and psychological symptom scores (p = 0.01) compared with those with total physical activity of < 3000 MET-minutes/week. Abstract Background We conducted a randomized controlled trial to investigate the effects of consumption of yogurt fermented with Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus OLL1073R-1 in women healthcare workers. In a previous study we used these data to investigate hypothesized preventive effects against flu, however any effects on improving mental quality of life were not analyzed at that time. In the present study, we focus on that aspect. Methods The participants (961 women; mainly nurses, aged 20–71 years) were randomly allocated to either the yogurt group (n = 479) or the control group (n = 482). Participants in the yogurt group drank 112 mL of OLL1073R-1 yogurt for 16 weeks, while those in the control group did not consume any yogurt. All participants were prohibited from consuming other yogurt or fermented dairy products during the study period. The participants answered the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Short Form-8 Health Survey (SF-8), and Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) questionnaires at baseline and after 16 weeks. ABSTRACT Objectives: to describe the daily life of Brazilian women who work in mining. Methods: a descriptive, qualitative study, with analysis based on the theory of Symbolic Interactionism. Non-participant observations, field diary writing, sociodemographic form, non-directive interviews, recorded and transcribed in full, were carried out with 19 women who work in mining areas on the French-Brazilian Amazon border. Results: two categories emerged: Life trajectories: women’s work in mining; Woman, mother and prospector: the multiple facets of gender inequality on the Amazon border. Final Considerations: assessing the daily experiences of women in the Amazonian mines allowed identifying their health needs, evidencing the need to direct and implement public and social policies and health practices for comprehensive care of these women’s health.

Background: Although surveys and apps are available for women to report urination and bladder symptoms, they do not include their decisions regarding toileting. Real-world factors can interfere with toileting decisions, which may then influence bladder health. This premise lacks data per want of a robust data collection tool., Objective: The Prevention of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (PLUS) research consortium engaged a transdisciplinary team to build and test WhereIGo, a mobile data collection app for Android and iOS. The design goal was a comprehensive reporting system for capturing environmental, sociocultural, and physical factors that influence women's decisions for toileting. Aims include having (1) an innovative feature for reporting physiologic urge sensation when "thinking about my bladder" and shortly before "I just peed," (2) real-time reporting along with short look-back opportunities, and (3) ease of use anywhere., Methods: The development team included a plain language specialist, a usability specialist, creative designers, programming experts, and PLUS scientific content experts. Both real-time and ecological momentary assessments were used to comprehensively capture influences on toileting decisions including perceived access to toileting, degree of busyness or stress or focus, beverage intake amount, urge degree, or a leakage event. The restriction on the maximal number of taps for any screen was six. PLUS consortium investigators did pilot-testing. Formal usability testing relied on the recruitment of community-dwelling women at four PLUS research sites. Women used the app for 2 consecutive days. Outcome measures were the system usability scale (SUS; 0-100 range) and the functional Mobile Application Rating Scale (1-5 range). These scales were embedded at the end of the app. The estimated a priori sample size needed, considering the SUS cut point score set at ≥74, was 40 women completing the study., Results: Funding was provided by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases since July 2015. The integrity of the build process was documented through multiple 5-minute videos presented to PLUS Consortium and through WhereIGo screenshots of the final product. Participants included 44 women, with 41 (93%) completing data collection. Participants ranged in age from 21 to 85 years, were predominantly non-Hispanic White (n=25, 57%), college-educated (n=25, 57%), and with incomes below US $75,000 (n=27, 62%). The SUS score was 78.0 (SE 1.7), which was higher than 75% of the 500 products tested by the SUS developers. The mean functional Mobile Application Rating Scale score was 4.4 (SE 0.08). The build and informal acceptability testing were completed in 2019, enrollment for formal usability testing completed by June 2020, and analysis was completed in 2022., Conclusions: WhereIGo is a novel app with good usability for women to report toileting decisions, urination, and fluid intake. There are different perspectives about the relationship between woman's health and economic growth. The question among economists is, whether the economic growth is affected by woman's health or economic growth causes woman's health? Accordingly, the major purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between woman's health and economic growth group by using the Conjugated Granger Causality Approach and the Dumitrescu and Hurlin's test over the period 1990–2016 in two groups of D8 and G7 countries. Results indicate that in the D8 countries, the hypothesis of no causal relationship between life expectancy, fertility rate and economic growth mortality cannot be rejected at a significant level of 5%, but the hypothesis of no relationship causes of economic growth are rejected by life expectancy, fertility rates and mortality rates. Therefore, there is a one-way causal relationship between economic growth in life expectancy, fertility rates and mortality rates. On the other hand, the study for G7 group countries shows that, the hypothesis of no causal relationship between life expectancy and mortality rate to economic growth as well as the absence of causality from economic growth to life expectancy and mortality rates cannot be rejected at a significant level of 5%. Therefore, there is no causal relationship between life expectancy and mortality rate and economic growth and these two variables have no effect on each other. Also, the hypothesis of no causal relationship between fertility rate and economic growth and absence of causality relation from economic growth to fertility rate is rejected at the significant level of 5%. This study aims to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of Body Attitude Test among women with breast cancer. The study included 101 voluntary women with breast cancer stage 1, 2 or 3 from different regions of Turkey. The Turkish versions of Body Attitude Test, Body Shape Questionnaire and Eating Attitudes Test were applied twice with a 7- day interval. The test demonstrated high test-retest reliability (Intra-class Correlation Coefficient = 0.95) with a good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.82; McDonald's omega = 0.89) for all domains. The confirmatory factor analysis resulted in 4 factor structures and at an acceptable good fit-in with x2/df for BAT. The Body Attitude Test correlated strongly with the Body Shape Questionnaire and Eating Attitudes Test (p < 0.05). The results support the Turkish version of the test is a valid and reliable instrument that can be used to measure the body attitude of women with breast cancer. Background: Obesity is a chronic, non-communicable, multifactorial disease that different governmental and non-governmental organizations consider a pandemic. It has even been reported as the disease to be combated in the 21st century. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a multi-professional intervention with an online component (hybrid - some activities were performed in person, and others were conducted on the internet) on the morphological and cardiorespiratory parameters of overweight or obese females after 6 and 12 weeks of intervention. Methods: Seventeen females between 40 and 59 years of age were included in the final analyses. Data were gathered at 6 and 12 weeks. The interventions were performed for 12 weeks by a team made up of physical education professionals (3x a week), physical therapists (3x a week), nutritionists (1x a week), and psychologists (1x a week). Physical exercises by physical education professionals and physical therapists were conducted in person. In addition, nutritional and psychological group therapy sessions were conducted online through Google Meet. Results: There was a significant reduction (p<0.05) in body fat mass and body fat percentage. The Bruce test with direct spirometric (metabolic gas analyzer) analysis indicated a significant increase (p<0.05) in distance and duration after 12 weeks of intervention. However, there were no observed differences for peak oxygen consumption, blood pressure, body mass, and body mass index (p>0.05) after the training program. Conclusion: The proposed intervention model (i.e., exercises using body weight and accessories, together with nutritional and psychological interventions online) effectively reduced body fat and improved health-related physical fitness parameters in overweight or obese females after 12 weeks. Abstract Objectives: to describe the adaptation process of the Zero Mothers Die app, developed in Europe, is to combat maternal mortality, was brought into the Brazilian context with an individualized auscultation methodology for pregnant women and mothers who attended a high complexity referred teaching hospital. Methods: the research consisted of two parts: the participant observation technique was used by health professionals to translate the platform; with an approach in the service with online forms for pregnant women, and the content analysis was performed by grounded theory of the data. During five months, 109 pregnant women and mothers installed the app, but only 17 completed the questionnaire. Results: the women and health professionals pointed out questions such as interactivity, application interface, content, pregnancy and childcare clinical management, which contributed for the Brazilian version. Conclusions: the participatory medicine and e-pregnant woman are new premises of a humanization policy for women and childcare. The insertion of an app with information based on the best evidence in the prenatal routine in the health establishments with teaching activities that can provide new dialogue connections with the pregnant women and chances to update the professional in training.

Hoy en día, en Brasil y la mayor parte de América Latina, el aborto ilegal e inseguro sigue siendo un grave problema de salud pública, porque aun siendo ilegal, se practica y su solución es un reto que permea el requisito de medidas urgentes en el proceso de despenalización. El objetivo general de esta investigación es describir la relación entre el aborto y la salud pública en Brasil, (des) penalización la perspectiva de la influencia de los derechos humanos, destacando la salud de las mujeres, la falta de planificación familiar y las consecuencias. Esta investigación se caracteriza como estudio bibliográfico, tomando como método de enfoque la investigación deductiva, a través de la doctrinaria, documental y el uso de datos y herramientas disponible en Internet. Abortion is a practice that is perpetuated through time, being treated in different and specific ways in each historical moment. Today, in Brazil and in most of Latin America, illegal and unsafe abortion is still a serious public health problem, because even being illegal, it is practiced and its solution is a challenge that permepasses the requirement of urgente measures in the process of descrimination. The general objective of this research is to describe the relationship between abortion and public health in Brazil, from the perpective of (dis) criminalization, from the influence of human rights, highlighting women’s health, lack of family planning and its consequences. This research is characterized as a bibliographical study, having as a method of approach the deductive, through doctrinarian research, documentation and the use of data and search tools made available on the Internet.

Abstract Background In many European countries, women have a higher sickness absence rate than men. Women also report higher levels of work-life conflict, which has a negative impact on women’s self-perceived health. Interventions studies on work-life balance literature are scarce. This research adds knowledge about work-life balance by examining female employees’ experiences of a newly developed intervention program, the BELE program (Balance in Everyday Life Empowerment program), aiming to enhance the work-life balance and wellbeing of female employees. Methods All participants in the BELE program were included in the sample (n = 55) of the study. The methods used for gathering data were focus group interviews (n = 8) and semi-structured individual interviews (n = 8). A qualitative content analysis was used for the analyses. Results The results showed that a majority of the participants experienced a process of change for enhancement of wellbeing and balance in their everyday life when taking part in the BELE program. In the analyses, three main themes emerged. Reflecting and strengthening inner resource, Trying to change everyday patterns and habits and Experiencing more balance and well-being. Conclusions The results point out the importance of awareness and reflection on everyday life to promote work-life balance and wellbeing. The BELE program was described as a wakeup call to one’s own life and as an enhancer of empowerment processes and equality in the homes. Moreover, the results showed the need for health education in the workplace focusing on both work and private life to enhance balance and wellbeing among female employees’. The findings indicate that it is important to work at individual and group levels in work-life balance interventions and not merely at the organizational level or in the workplace setting.

ObjectiveTo assess the correlation between different pain symptoms and different domains of women's health-related quality of life (HRQoL).MethodsSeventy-seven women with deep infiltrating endometriosis were successively enrolled between June 2011 and August 2013 while being prepared to undergo laparoscopy due to pain and/or infertility. We quantified the intensities of dysmenorrhea, deep dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain, and dyschezia (menstrual and non-menstrual) using a 11-point visual analog scale (VAS: 0–10) and the validated full versions of the Short Form 36 (SF36) and Endometriosis Health Profile (EHP30) questionnaires to assess HRQoL. The pain symptoms were considered simultaneously in a hierarchical agglomerative clustering method (exploratory multivariate approach) and the associations among scores were tested by bivariate correlation.ResultsDysmenorrhea showed the lowest similarity on to the multivariate cluster analysis and no statistically significant correlation with the other pain symptoms: deep dyspareunia (P=0.244), chronic pelvic pain (P=0.108), menstrual dyschezia (P=0.238), and non-menstrual dyschezia (P=0.380). The present study aims to analyze the scientific evidence regarding the perception of nursing professionals regarding humanized care in normal delivery. It is an integrative literature review in 6 databases, with no time frame as to the year of publication, using the descriptors Humanized Childbirth and Obstetric Nursing in English and Portuguese. The data were evaluated through content analysis and in light of Jean Watson's Theory of Transpersonal Care. Six articles were selected from which two categories emerged: humanized care in normal childbirth is the establishment of a help-trust relationship; and humanized care during normal birth is the provision of a supportive, protective mental, physical, socio-cultural and spiritual environment. To analyze the publications regarding the quality of life of women with cervical cancer. Method: This is an integrative review performed in the indexed LILACS, MEDLINE and SCIELO databases. The descriptors “Quality of Life” AND “Cervical Neoplasms”, “Quality of Life” AND “Woman's Health” and “Woman's Health” AND “Cervical Neoplasms” were used, in which articles published in the period from 2010-2018 that met the inclusion criteria were selected. Results: The research resulted in three articles in Lilacs, three in Medline, and five in Scielo, totaling 11 articles. The research used three questionnaires, such as EORTC QLQ-C30, WHOQOL-bref, and FACT-Cx. These instruments are the most widely used today to measure the quality of life and health conditions in broad aspects. It was observed that cervical cancer positively affects women's quality of life in social and emotional aspects. Conclusion: Quality of life, although with a positive evaluation, should encourage the formulation of public health policies aimed at improving this target audience's quality of life. Aim and objectives: To gain insight into the supportive care needs of Western Australian women experiencing gynaecological cancer. Background: Meeting the supportive care needs of people living with cancer is becoming increasingly important as advances in cancer treatment contribute to growing numbers of survivors. International evidence suggests between 24%–56% of women with gynaecological cancer have unmet supportive care needs and that psychological challenges, information provision and holistic care are priorities. No qualitative investigation has previously explored women's journey of gynaecological cancer within the Australian setting. Design: A qualitative descriptive design was used. Methods: Women treated for gynaecological cancer were recruited from a tertiary public women's hospital in Western Australia. Thematic analysis was conducted on qualitative data collected from 190 women over 12 months through written open‐ended survey responses and telephone interviews. The COnsolidated criteria for REporting Qualitative research (COREQ) guided presentation of results. Results: Analysis yielded five themes and four subthemes: (a) Communication style directs the experience (subthemes: feeling supported; absence of empathy); (b) It's not just about the disease (subthemes: life has changed; holistic care); (c) A desire for information; (d) Drawing upon resilience; and (e) Navigating the system. Discussion: Exploration of the women's needs leads to the discussion of three concepts. Communication styles, harnessing women's resilience and alternative models of care are evaluated for their capacity to improve care and women's quality of life into survivorship. Recommendations are made for further research and possible interventions that can be translated into the clinical setting. Conclusion: Women with gynaecological cancer described complex often unmet supportive care needs and interactions with the healthcare system. Insight gained directs suggestions for improved service provision. Relevance to clinical practice: Improved patient‐centred communication, harnessing resilience as a resource and alternative models of care for follow‐up are encouraged as areas of improvement for clinicians and care services. Research question: Which person related and clinical aspects variables are associated with the types of urinary incontinence in older women? Research problem: The purpose of this study is to determine the occurrence of urinary incontinence among elderly women and verify the association between related to the person and clinical variables with types of urinary incontinence. Literature review: There is a wide variation in the prevalence of urinary incontinence throughout the world, as well as among the regions of Brazil (Milsom et al., 2014). The worldwide prevalence of any type of incontinence in women has been estimated at more than 275 million in 2013, with an increase of more than 300 million by 2018. Methodology: A cross‐sectional study with a quantitative aproach was conducted with 120 elderly women. The International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire—Short Form was used as data collection tool and all participants signed consent form. Results: The prevalence of UI found was 67.5%. Regarding the type of UI, the following frequencies were found: urgency (29.2%), stress (23.3%) and mixed (15.0%). Urge incontinence was significantly associated with age (mean: 81.1 years, P:.05) and abdominal circumference (mean: 97.9 cm, P:.01). Diabetes mellitus was associated with urgency incontinence (P < .001), while hypertension showed association with stress and mixed incontinence (both with P < .001). Conclusions: Urinary incontinence was present in 67.5% of elderly women living in long‐term care facilities, with a higher occurrence of urgency and stress, and parametric statistics showed an association between Urge incontinence and age and abdominal circumference. Methods: the research consisted of two parts: the participant observation technique was used by health professionals to translate the platform; with an approach in the service with online forms for pregnant women, and the content analysis was performed by grounded theory of the data. During five months, 109 pregnant women and mothers installed the app, but only 17 completed the questionnaire. Results: the women and health professionals pointed out questions such as interactivity, application interface, content, pregnancy and childcare clinical management, which contributed for the Brazilian version. Conclusions: the participatory medicine and e-pregnant woman are new premises of a humanization policy for women and childcare. The insertion of an app with information based on the best evidence in the prenatal routine in the health establishments with teaching activities that can provide new dialogue connections with the pregnant women and chances to update the professional in training. The objective in this study was to outline the epidemiological profile of high-risk pregnant women attended at the Instituto da Mulher of the Municipal Health Department in the city of Francisco Beltrão, Brazil. Sixty-one patient histories were assessed between January and June 2015. It was verified that 82% (N=50) of the pregnant women were between 15 and 35 years of age; 47.5% (N=29) had finished secondary education; 52.5% (N=32) were married; 62.3% (N=38) were white; 88.5% (N=54) had family antecedents of chronic illness, 63.9% (N=39) related to arterial hypertension; 82% (N=50) had personal antecedents, with 52.5% (N=32) of urinary infection cases; 70.5% (N=43) were multipara. The high-risk pregnancy evolved to caesarean sections in 80.3% (N=49) of the cases. This study produced important information about the profile of this population, which allows the professionals involved in care delivery to high-risk pregnant women to play a fundamental role in the reduction of maternal mortality. In conclusion, the profile of these high-risk pregnant women seemingly does not differ from the reality in other Brazilian cities, mainly concerning hypertension as an important factor of family and personal antecedents and current prevalence.
