Abstract
- This study aimed to investigate the experiences of women who survived intimate partner violence (IPV) and received services from the Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers (VPMCs) in terms of post-traumatic growth (PTG). This research is a case study from qualitative research designs. The study was conducted with 7 women who survived IPV and received services from VPMCs for at least one year and was approved to participate in the research by the institutional psychologist. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using an unstructured interview form. Data were analyzed by thematic content analysis. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Studies and Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research checklists were used to improve the quality of qualitative research. After transcribing the interviews conducted for the purpose and scope of the study, three main themes were identified, namely PTG barriers, PTG facilitators, and PTG indicators, along with 10 sub-themes under these themes. Although IPV causes many negativities in the life of the victim, it has been found that women who are adequately supported can experience PTG. Thus, it is crucial that individuals and institutions working with victims have an understanding of women's PTG potential and identify strategies for supporting it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
