Translations of instruments for measuring quality of life developed in certain, mostly more developed, parts of the world usually do not cover regionally specific aspects of health-related quality of life, even after transcultural validation. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a reliable questionnaire in Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin languages suitable for measuring health-related quality of life in adults.

The study was of a cross-sectional type, assessing the reliability and validity of a newly developed questionnaire for measuring health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adults residing in western Balkan states (WB-HRQoL). It was conducted on a sample of 489 adults from Serbia, Croatia, BosniaHerzegovina, and Montenegro, with a mean age of 52.2±14.4 years and a male/female ratio of 195/294 (39.9%/60.1%).The definitive version of the WB-HRQoL scale with 19 items showed very good reliability, with Cronbach's alpha 0.905. The scale was temporally stable, and satisfactory results were obtained for divergent and convergent validity tests. Exploratory factorial analysis brought to the surface four domains of health-related quality of life, namely the physical, psychical, social, and environmental. The WB-HRQoL scale is a reliable and valid generic instrument for measuring HRQoL that takes into account the cultural specifics of the western Balkan region.

To assess the psychometric properties of the Croatian version of a Work Ability Index Questionnaire (WAIQ-CRO) in the population of nurses by using a specific methodological approach.A cross-sectional survey was conducted in a sample of 711 Croatian nurses in 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia. The instrument's internal consistency was assessed by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient (α). The factor structure was verified by confirmatory (CFA) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA), with the assumption of a single-factor structure. To ensure the equality of importance of items in the assessment, the item-specific scores were transformed. The internal consistency of the instrument was satisfactory (α=0.71). CFA showed poor first model (Model-1) compatibility data (p0.001, CFI=0.85, GFI=0.93, RMSEA=0.13). The modificated indexes suggested the introduction of correlation parameters residual variances of results from WAIQ-CRO Item-1 and Item-2. After introducing these covariances, the index model assentation (Model-2) showed desirable assentation measures (p0.001, CFI=0.95, GFI=0.97, RMSEA=0.08). Comparison showed better compatibility of Model-2 (p0.001). The implementation of EFA has identified three factors. Replication of this model in CFA resulted in relatively good model assentation approaches with data (p0.001, CFI=0.96, GFI=0.98, RMSEA=0.07). Comparison of this model (Model-3) with Model-2 showed a significantly better compatibility of Model-3 (p0.001).The WAIQ-CRO proved to be a reliable and valid instrument which can be used in research among Croatian nurses. The results suggest that it would be better to consider a three-factor structure than a single-factor structure, as a three-factor structure can direct decision-makers to which segment to locate interventions. Rezultati prvega modela CFA (Model-1) niso bili ugodni (p0,001; CFI = 0,85; GFI = 0,93; RMSEA = 0,13). Preoblikovane vrednosti so nakazale uvedbo kovarianc pri postavkah 1 in 2. Po njihovi uvedbi so se rezultati v drugem modelu (Model-2) močno izboljšali (p0,001, CFI = 0,95, GFI = 0,97, RMSEA = 0,08). Rezultati EFA so nato pokazali trifaktorsko strukturo.

Introduction: A stroke is a sudden event caused by a disturbance in the supply of oxygen to the brain. One of common consequences of stroke is upper limb impairment, therefore therapeutic approaches used, encourage the use of affected upper limb togehther with other methods promoting proper movement patterns. One of the most efficient types of therapy in this field is a Constraint-induced movement therapy. An assessment Motor activity log has been developed to measure spontaneous and realistic use of the affected upper limb while applying this type of therapy. Purpose: The purpose of this diploma work was to determine the comprehension and reliability of the Slovene translation of the Motor activity log and define its psychometric characteristics. The aim was to translate the original questionnaire from English to Slovene, adapt it to our culture and prepare it for practical use. Methods: We used the quantitative research which consisted of six therapists (occupational therapists and physiotherapists) and ten participants who have previously experienced a stroke. The questionnaire consists of 30 activities. The individual assesses the realistic use of the affected arm according to the how much and how well scales during every activity. The assessment ranges from 0 (total uselessness of the affected arm) to 5 (same usage of the affected arm as before the stroke), accurate to half a point. The results were analysed in the SPSS programme. The consistency of the assessors was examined with the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The inner consistency of the Slovene translation was calculated with the Cronbach α coefficient. Results: The reliability between the assessors is excellent (ICC=0.996). The ICC results vary from 0.978 to 0.997 according to each individual assessor, which guarantees high reliability. The inner consistency of the Slovene translation was also high (α=0,935-0,978). Discussion and conclusion: The aim of Slovenian translation of Motor activity log was to enable grater accessibility and use by occupational therapists and other health workers involved in neurological rehabilitation. Assessment with the Slovene translation will now be done much faster, as the instrument is simple, useful, and easily understandable. The results of our research display the usefulness of the translation of the assessment instrument in every-day practice, although it would be sensible to conduct another research with a bigger sample in the future.

Traumatic experience in childhood or adolescence has a significant impact on the development of chronic mental and physical conditions in adulthood. Thus, it is very important for health professionals, especially primary care physicians to have an inventory in order to detect early trauma for planning appropriate treatment, such as the Early Trauma Inventory (ETI). The aim of this paper is to test the psychometric properties of the Slovenian translation of the short, self-rated version (ETISR-SF), and to further validate the instrument. The research was done in two parts - qualitative and quantitative. In the qualitative part, a questionnaire was translated and culturally adapted using the Delphi method. For the quantitative part, 51 patients with substance use disorders hospitalized at the Centre for the Treatment of Drug Addictions were recruited, along with 133 controls. The psychometric properties of the questionnaire were checked. Internal consistency was calculated using Cronbach's alpha, test-retest reliability was examined graphically using a Bland-Altman plot. Discriminant validity between groups was gauged using the independent samples t-test.Consensus in the Delphi study was reached in the second round. Cronbach's alpha varied between 0.60 - 0.85. Of the four domains, physical abuse had the lowest Cronbach's alpha. The test-retest reliability is high for all domains, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.82 to 0.96. The non-clinical sample differed significantly from the clinical sample. The Slovenian translation of ETISR-SF is a satisfactory instrument for the evaluation of trauma before the age of 18.Po poročilu Nacionalnega inštituta za javno zdravje smo v Sloveniji lani prvič ugotavljali razširjenost obremenjujočih izkušenj v otroštvu. V kvantitativnem delu so bile preverjene psihometrične lastnosti vprašalnika v klinični in neklinični populaciji.

Cognitive failures are defined as slips and lapses in simple everyday tasks that a person can usually perform without errors (Broadbent et al., 1982). The most established measure of cognitive failures is the Cognitive Failures Questionnaire CFQ, designed by Broadbent et al. (1982). The questionnaire was translated to Slovene, but psychometric properties of the Slovenian version have not yet been examined. The main aim of the master's thesis is to examine psychometric properties, which include factor structure, reliability, item analysis and correlations with other constructs. The sample included 215 students from different fields of study. Factor structure was examined using exploratory factor analysis (Principal Axis Factoring method and the oblique rotation Oblimin) and confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the original one-factor solution of Broadbent et al. (1982) represents the best factor solution from the content and psychometric point of view. The results also show that cognitive failures correlate with neuroticism, anxiety and rumination, however, they are not associated with selective attention and inhibition. Based on the results, we can conclude that the Slovene version of the questionnaire has good psychometric properties and is appropriate for usage. Beside psychometric evaluation and recommendations for application and interpretation of the questionnaire, the findings also have important implications from a research and applicative point of view.
