Abstract

Pošavši od činjenice da je Pavao jedini novozavjetni pisac koji poziva svoje naslovnike da ga oponašaju, istražili smo tekstove u kojima to čini. Budući da Pavao u svojim izvornim spisima nigdje izričito ne govori o sadržaju oponašanja – to će se pojaviti tek u deuteropavlovskim spisima – taj smo sadržaj mogli izvući samo iz širega konteksta njegovih poziva. Ustanovili smo da je sadržaj toga poziva uvijek usmjeren na Kristov križ koji je našao odraza u Pavlovu vjerovjesničkomu životu i koji, premda je Židovima sablazan a Grcima ludost, na različite načine očituje svoju spasiteljsku snagu upravo u konkretnim životnim situacijama pojedinaca i zajednice. Patnje zbog Evanđelja, zajedništvo a ne razdori zbog križa, novo vrjednovanje stvarnosti, potreba rada i zauzimanja za zemaljske stvarnosti, sve su to elementi sadržaja zbog kojih Pavao hvali ili poziva svoje naslovnike kad im sebe stavlja kao uzor ponašanja, odnosno oponašanja., Starting from the fact that Paul was the only new-testament writer who calls his addressees to imitate him, we have researched the texts in which he is doing so. Since nowhere in his original texts Paul explicitly speaks about the content of imitating, which will appear later in deutero-Pauline documents, we could extract that content only from a wider context of his calls. We have found that the content of that call is always directed to Christ’s cross which was reflected in Paul’s life and which, though blasphemy to the Jews and madness to the Greeks, in various ways manifests its redeeming power exactly in concrete life situations of an individual and community. Sufferings because of the Gospel, togetherness, not discords, because of the cross, reappraisal of reality, necessity to work and pleading for earthly realities, all these are the elements of the contents because of which Paul either praises or calls his addressees when giving himself as a model of behaviour, i.e. of imitation.

2. Paul's life experience as paradigm of the transforming power of divine grace : a text-centered approach to Paul's autobiography in Galatians 1 and 2

Abstract

Kapitel I Das Phänomen oder die Praxis autobiographischer Schriften existierte bereits vor dem 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr., erreichte aber in der griechisch-römischen Zeit seine volle Entfaltung. Autobiographische Schriften werden durch bestimmte rhetorische Situationen definiert und deshalb ist ihr Hauptzweck die Überredung/Überzeugung. In der Antike verwendeten die Menschen ihre autobiographischen Berichte apologetisch als Selbstverteidigung, manche nutzten sie zur Selbstverherrlichung, um sich als Vorbilder zu präsentieren und die Bewunderung und Erinnerung sowohl der Zeitgenossen als auch ihrer Nachkommenschaft zu gewinnen. Obwohl die Motive und Absichten unterschiedlich sein können, sind die Elemente, die in den alten autobiographischen Reden/Schriften enthalten sind, mehr oder weniger die gleichen. Die Elemente, die häufig in den autobiografischen Reden/Schriften in der Antike gefunden werden, sind: i. Selbstbeschreibung Mittels Selbstbeschreibung hat der Autor/Sprecher seine Glaubwürdigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit vor seinen Adressaten bestätigt. ii. Vergleich/Kontrast zu Gegnern Indem er sich mit den Gegnern vergleicht, präsentiert er sich als ideale Person. iii. Captatio benevolentiae Mit dieser rhetorischen Technik versucht er, die Sympathie seiner Adressaten zu gewinnen, indem er diese lobt oder an das Interesse erinnert, das er mit ihnen teilt. iv. Katalog der Erfolge Der Katalog der Errungenschaften umfasst die guten Dinge, die sie für das Wohl der Menschen und ihres Landes getan haben. Dies dient als Beweis für ihre Wertschätzung von Lob und Ehre. Und es ist eine Art des Versuchs, ihre soziale Unsterblichkeit in der Nachwelt zu etablieren. v. Katalog der Nöte Anhand eines Härtekatalogs zeigt der Autor, trotz Gefahren und Bedrohungen, seine Loyalität gegenüber seinem Volk und dem Staat. Kapitel II In diesem Kapitel II wurden sechs der sieben unumstrittenen Briefe des Paulus gelesen und die Stellen identifiziert und analysiert, in denen Paulus über sich selbst sp, Chapter I The phenomenon or the practice of autobiographical writings was already in existence even before the 5th century BC, but it reached its full development in the Greco-Roman period. Autobiographical writings are defined by certain rhetorical situations and therefore its main purpose is to persuasion. In antiquity, people employed their autobiographical accounts apologetically as self-defense, some employed it for the purpose of self-glorification, for presenting themselves as models, and for winning the admiration and remembrance of both contemporaries and their posterity. Although the motives and purposes may be different, the elements that are included in the ancient autobiographical speeches/writings are more or less the same. The elements that are commonly found in the autobiographical speeches/writings in antiquity are: i. Self-description By means of self-description, the author/speaker established their credibility and reliability before their addressees. ii. Comparison/Contrast with opponents By comparing themselves with the opponents, they present themselves as ideal persons. iii. Captatio benevolentiae With this rhetorical technique, they seek to win the sympathy from their addressees by praising them or by recalling the interest they share with them. iv. Catalogue of achievements The catalogue of achievements includes the good things that they did for the benefits of the people and their country. This functions as proofs for their worthiness of praise and honor. And it is a way of seeking to establish their social immortality among the posterity. v. Catalogue of hardships By means of a catalogue of hardships, the author demonstrates his loyalty to his people and the state in spite of dangers and threats. Chapter II In this chapter II, six of the seven undisputed letters of Paul have been read and the passages in which Paul speaks about himself are identified and analyzed.
