Background Upper limb motor dysfunction is a common functional disorder after stroke. Attention may have an impact on the recovery of upper limb motor function, but there is little evidence of correlation between upper limb motor function and attention. Objective To explore the correlation between upper limb motor function and attention after stroke, and to provide a new perspective for clinical rehabilitation of upper limb function. Methods A total of 480 stroke patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of 26 units in China from March to October 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment Upper Limb (FMA-UL) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) were used to evaluate the upper limb motor function and attention of the patients, respectively. Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between the total score of FMA-UL and the scores of attention assessment items in MoCA. Results Among the 480 patients, 105 patients did not finish the complete evaluation, so finally, 375 patients with stroke were included. The average FMA-UL score was (31.26±22.49) points. The average MoCA-Attention score was (4.74±1.60) points. The average Attention-Forward Digit Span and Backward Digit Span task score was (1.62±0.63) points; the average Attention-Vigilance task score was (0.74±0.45) points; the average Attention-Serial 7s task score was (2.39±0.95) points. Background Wrist motor dysfunction is a common sequela at post-stroke, and the wrist has an important role in improving hand practicality. Therefore, improving the range of motion of the wrist can effectively promote the activities of daily life in post-stroke patients. Although repetitive peripheral magnetic stimulations (rPMS) have been shown to have a significant effect on improving the range of motion of the wrist, the therapeutic effect of different stimulation sites still needs to be further explored. Objective To investigate the effect of rPMS on wrist extensor muscle and radial nerve for the motor function of wrist of subacute stroke patients. Methods A total of 60 subacute stroke patients with wrist motor dysfunction admitted to Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The included patients were randomly divided into control group (20 cases), muscle stimulation group (20 cases) and nerve stimulation group (20 cases) by simple randomized grouping method using a random number table. Patients in all the three groups received routine rehabilitation training, and those in the muscle stimulation group and nerve stimulation group were additionally managed by rPMS on the wrist extensor muscle and the radial nerve, respectively. Before and after the interventions for 10 times of rPMS, integrated electromyography (iEMG), root mean square (RMS) and median frequency (MF) on the surface of the wrist extensor muscle, the Fugl-Meyer Assessment for upper extremity (FMA-UE), the Action Research Arm Test (ARAT) and the modified Barthel Index (MBI) were measured to assess the upper limb function of the affected side. Results During the intervention period, there were 2 cases of data loss due to voluntary withdrawal or forced termination of the trial, and finally 20 cases were included in the control group, 19 cases in the muscle stimulation group, and 19 cases in the nerve stimulation group. There were no significant differences in iEMG, RMS and MF of wrist extensor muscle among three groups before treatment (P>0.05). After treatment, iEMG, RMS and MF of wrist extensor muscle in muscle stimulation group and nerve stimulation group were significantly higher than those of control group (P0.05). Background Somatosensory and motor dysfunctions are common after stroke, both lead to limitations in activities of daily living and social participation, there is still a lack of research evidence to analyze the relationship between the two from multiple perspectives. Objective To investigate the relationship between somatosensory and motor function among overall, upper and lower extremities in different-age-group patients within one year after stroke. Methods This prospective study enrolled the poststroke patients within one year from several hospitals in Fujian Province from October 2022 to April 2023. The sensory subscale of the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA-S) and the sensory subitem of National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) were used to evaluate the patient's somatosensory function. The motor subscale of the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA-M), Brunnstrom assessment, Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and the motor subitem of NIHSS were used to evaluate the patient's motor function. Modified Barthel Index (MBI) was used to evaluate the patient's activities of daily living (ADL). Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was used to evaluate the patient's psychosomatic function. They were divided into two groups (the elderly group/the young and middle-aged group) according to their age, we compared the differences in general information and rehabilitation assessments between the two groups. And we analyzed the correlation between somatosensory function and motor function/ADL/psycho-psychological function. Results A total of 254 patients were included, with an average age of (61.0±12.3) years and an average disease course of 30.0 (17.0, 65.5) days. Birds are excellent indicators of ecosystems and environmental conditions because they are responsive to habitat change and have important ecological functions. When birds are dependent on habitat functioning in specific ways, the population trends of birds can provide insights into ecosystem function. We conducted monthly bird surveys and monitored birds in Maofeng Mountain Forest Park from November 2020 to March 2022 by combining line transect and camera-trapping methods. These results help estimate bird community structure, bird diversity, and habitat influence. The study area was divided into three types of habitat according to vegetation type and human interference. In addition, 6 line-transects and 30 infrared cameras were used in this study. A total of 2,253 independent images were collected with up to 3,561 camera days during the study period. A total of 143 bird species belonging to 16 orders and 46 families were recorded in this study. Among these species, 18 are second-class national protected species, eight are listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, and 10 are key protected wild animals in Guangdong Province. Pycnonotus jocosus, Pycnonotus aurigaster, Alcippe morrisonia, and Zosterops simplex were the dominant species in forest parks. Accipiter trivirgatus, Pitta nympha, Garrulax canorus, and Lophura nycthemera, which are rare and threatened species, were found in the forest park. Based on the residential habitats of these species, the dominant 80 species (proportion:55.94％) were in the Oriental biogeographical realm. The widespread species and the Palaearctic species had 32 (proportion: 22.38%) and 31 species (proportion: 21.68%), respectively. Ninety species of resident birds were dominant among all types of birds in the forest park. The main ecological type, with 132 species, was forest birds. In terms of eating types, most birds were insectivorous and omnivorous, with 67 species (proportion: 46.85%) and 46 species (proportion: 32.17%), respectively, suggesting that Maofeng Mountain Forest Park is an important site for forest bird communities. In terms of habitats, we also found that the Shannon-Wiener index, Simpson index, and Margalef index of birds were highest in forest habitats and lowest in road habitats. The Pielou evenness index of birds showed no significant differences among the habitats. In terms of seasons, the Shannon-Wiener and Margalef indices of birds were highest in spring and lowest in summer. Nevertheless, the Pielou evenness and Simpson indices of birds were not significantly different among the four seasons. The Pielou evenness index was similar to the Simpson index. Moreover, a general linear mixed model was used for the analysis, which showed that the richness and abundance index of birds were significantly correlated with changes in habitats and seasons. In summary, there were different kinds of habitats, abundant forest bird resources, stable bird community structures, and high bird diversity in Maofeng Mountain Forest Park. Birds with a more stable structure and higher diversity in the forest habitat imply that decreased human interference promotes bird inhabitation. This study provides basic data for biodiversity monitoring and assessment in Maofeng Mountain Forest Park and its surrounding forests.

Social ostracism refers to the phenomenon of being excluded from social interactions and not being accepted by society. While previous research has examined its impact on prosocial and antisocial behaviour, few studies have investigated how individuals respond to ostracism by seeking solitude. Therefore, our study aims to explore the association between social ostracism and solitude seeking as well as the potential psychological mechanisms involved. We conducted three studies involving 488 Chinese students (59% female) and found that (a) long‐term ostracism experiences positively correlated with preference for solitude, (b) short‐term ostracism did not immediately lead to solitude seeking but increased the desire to establish new connections with others and (c) hostile assessment and negative emotions played a chain mediation role in the relationship between social ostracism and solitude seeking. The widespread use of commercial feeds with high‐fat content in aquaculture may lead to oxidative stress and inflammation in fish during culture, which may cause changes in fish muscle texture. Therefore, mitigating oxidative stress and inflammation during fish farming holds paramount importance in improving fish muscle quality. In this study, we investigated the effect of different dietary levels of chlorogenic acid (CGA; 0, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 mg/kg diet, P1–P6) in commercial diets on the muscle of blackspotted croaker (Protonibea diacanthus) through an 8‐week feeding trial in open sea cages. The results showed that high dietary CGA levels (P5–P6) could significantly reduce muscle oxidative stress and inflammation (P < 0.05). Muscle toughness (hardness, chewiness, shear force, and gumminess) improved significantly as CGA levels increased (P < 0.05). It was also observed that the gap of muscle fiber was significantly reduced, while the muscle fiber density was significantly increased with the increase of CGA level (P < 0.05). Notably, dietary CGA also had a significant effect on collagen content in the muscle (P < 0.05), which may also be a crucial factor affecting muscle texture. Furthermore, it was found that the reduction of inflammation and increase of collagen deposition in muscle by dietary CGA may be related to the upregulation of transforming growth factor beta (TGF‐β) signaling pathway. Finally, it can be concluded that a dietary CGA supplementation of 1173.11 mg/kg is suggested for the aquaculture of P. diacanthus, based on the muscle texture quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There have been numerous theoretical and empirical transportation studies contesting the stability of commuting time over time. The constant commuting time hypothesis posits that people adjust trip durations, shift across modes, and sort through locations, so that their average commuting time remains within a constant budget. There is a discrepancy between studies applying aggregate analysis and those using disaggregate analysis, and differences in data collection may have contributed to the varying conclusions reported in the literature. This study conducts both aggregate and disaggregate analyses with two travel surveys of the Portland region. We employ descriptive analysis and t-tests to compare the aggregate commuting times of two years and use regression models to explore factors affecting the disaggregate commuting time at the individual trip level to examine whether the stability of the commuting time remains after substantial changes in the transportation and land use systems. Our study indicates that the average commuting time, along with the average commuting distance, increased slightly, as the mode share shifted away from driving during the examined period. The growth in shares of non-driving modes, which are slower than driving, coupled with an increased travel distance, contributed to the small increase in the average commuting time. Our analysis also indicates that the average travel speed improved for transit riders as well as drivers, contradicting earlier research that claims that public transit investment has worsened the congestion in Portland. This paper aims to bring to the attention of the accounting research community the opportunities and challenges associated with using public inquiry data for accounting research. We have conducted a systematic review of prior contributions in accounting that incorporate public inquiry data, and identify trends in the types of inquiries, data, and analytic techniques used within the existing literature. Extending out of this analysis, we identify three broad lines of enquiry within accounting research that can be informed by public inquiry data, and provide guidance for future research in the form of specific research topics, questions, and exemplars that illustrate the possibilities of this empirical approach. Finally, we articulate the limitations of public inquiry data and identify strategies researchers may use to realize these possibilities in their own research endeavors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
