Amaç: Bu çalışma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin bakım davranışları ile klinik öğrenim çevresi arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.Yöntemler: Araştırma tanımlayıcı-ilişki arayıcı desende yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini bir devlet üniversitesindeki 241 hemşirelik öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak; “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği-24” ve “Klinik Öğrenim Çevresi Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalamasının 21,25 olduğu, %74,3’ünün kadın, %34,9’unun 3. sınıfta öğrenim gördüğü saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik mesleğini sevenlerin Personel Öğrenci İlişkileri, Öğrenci Memnuniyeti, Hiyerarşi ve Rutinler alt boyutları ve Klinik Öğrenim Çevresi Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasının anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Hemşirelik yapan bir yakını olan öğrencilerin Hasta İlişkileri ve Güvence alt boyut puan ortalamasının anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Klinik uygulama öncesi uygulama hakkında bilgilendirilen öğrencilerin Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği-24 alt boyut ve toplam puan; Personel Öğrenci İlişkileri, Öğrenci Memnuniyeti, Klinik Öğrenim Çevresi Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamaları anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulunmuştur. Kliniklerde teorik bilgiyi uygulama alanına oldukça yeterli ve yeterli yansıtan öğrencilerin, Bakım Davranışları Ölçeği-24 alt boyut ve toplam, Klinik Öğrenim Çevresi toplam puan ortalamasının istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışmada hemşirelik öğrencilerinin bakım davranışları ile klinik öğrenme çevresi arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur.Sonuç: Öğrencilerin bakım davranışlarına yönelik algılarının yüksek olduğu ve klinik öğrenim çevresine ilişkin değerlendirmelerinin olumlu olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Objective: This study aims to the effect of role-play-based gamification on the analysis of symptoms in Internal Medicine Nursing, decision making, administration of appropriate nursing care, and the communication skills of nursing students.Methods: The study was designed in participatory action research as a qualitative design. In the action research, gamification elements were constructed on a role-play performance of the students in Nursing Department at a private university in Ankara-Türkiye. A gamification based on systems role play was performed for students taking the internal medicine nursing course (n=10). Checklists for each system regarding the selection and use of equipment appropriate for nursing interventions have been added to the games. At the end of the semester they were asked to evaluate this intervention via qualitative interview. In the in-depth interviews, data were collected by asking the students 9 unstructured open-ended questions prepared by the researchers. Data analysis was carried out by hand coding by the researchers. Codes were created from the research objectives based on Werbach's D6 Model for gamification design. Results: The qualitative analysis revealed six major themes (i) Defining Business Goals (ii) Delineating Target Behaviors (iii) Describing Players (iv) Devising Activity Loops (v) Deploying Tools (vi) Not forgetting the fun. In these themes, students stated that by using game elements in lessons, it became easier to remember and apply theoretical knowledge about internal medicine nursing, improved their practical skills, time management skills and critical decision-making abilities, and that they better understood the importance of effective communication within the team. Additionally, students stated that the experience of learning the basic aspects of internal diseases, which are difficult to learn in theory, became fun with the gamification technique.Conclusion: The use of gamification, students learned nursing care and communication skills related to Internal Medicine Nursing education in a motivated and more permanent manner.

Purpose: This study is conducted with the purpose of comparing fourth-year nursing students’ hand hygiene practices and beliefs with their hand flora. Additionally, we aim to assess the effectiveness of hand hygiene education in this context. Material and Methods: This research has been conducted using a pre-test, post-test, and control group quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted with fourth-grade students studying at the Nursing Department of a Faculty of Health Sciences in the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Twenty students who volunteered to participate were included using a simple random sampling method and were then randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The Hand Hygiene Application Inventory and the Hand Hygiene Belief Scale administered as pretests. Students underwent tape stripping and swab methods to collect samples for their hand flora before any interventions. Ten students in the experimental group were given education about hand hygiene rules by the researchers. A post-test was conducted for the experimental group. Results: The hand hygiene beliefs and practices of both groups were similar before training. When the Hand Hygiene Application Inventory and Hand Hygiene Belief Scale scores before and after the training were examined, an increase was observed in the scale scores after training. In this study, the microorganisms present in the general hand flora were identified simplistically, and the changes were observed after hand hygiene education. Furthermore, the study shed light on the structure of hand flora after education in terms of microbial load. Conclusion: It has been experimentally determined that there is a significant decrease in hand microbiota load and pathogenic groups with hand hygiene education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin mesleki bağlılıkları ile manevi bakım yeterlilikleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntemler: Bu tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı araştırmanın evrenini 2022–2023 eğitim öğretim yılında bir devlet üniversitesinin hemşirelik bölümünde okuyan tüm öğrenciler (n=415) oluşturmuştur. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden toplam 267 öğrenci çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırmada veriler, tanıtıcı bilgi formu, Hemşirelikte Mesleğe Bağlılık Ölçeği ve Manevi Bakım Yeterlilik Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrenciler, Hemşirelikte Mesleğe Bağlılık Ölçeği’nden ortalama 75,79 ± 12,21 (min. 26,00 – maks. 104,00), Manevi Bakım Yeterlilik Ölçeği’nden ortalama 102,11±24,09 (min. 27,00 – maks. 135,00) puan almıştır. This study was planned to determine the effect of case studies used in teaching the nursing process nursing on the problem-solving skills and perception levels of nursing diagnoses of first-year nursing students. This research, which was planned as a pre-test post-test interventional study, was conducted with 133 first-year nursing students. Before starting the group case studies "Student Information Form, Nursing Diagnosis Perception Scale, and Problem Solving Inventory" were applied to the students. After group case studies were conducted with the students for five weeks, the same scales were applied again and the post-test was completed. According to the pre- test results, the students' total mean score of perception of nursing diagnoses was 2.77±0.61, while it was 2.39±0.46 in the post-test. The problem solving skill mean scores were 105.73±18.65 in the pre-test and 108.12±18.26 in the post-test. Their perception of nursing diagnoses improved positively after the case studies, while a statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test mean scores, but no difference was found between the problem-solving skill scores. In this research; although nursing diagnosis perceptions have improved, problem solving skills have not improved at the desired level. In this context, it may be recommended to increase the number of case studies, repeat case studies before and after clinical practice, use of standardized/simulated patients and try interactive teaching methods such as simulation. Objective: This study determined the sleep hygiene level of senior undergraduate nursing students and to improve their sleep hygiene knowledge with an intervention program. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted with 60 fourth-year nursing students who participated in the pre-test and posttest application of the research between January 9 and February 13 2023. Sleep hygiene education created by the researchers was applied to the control group with a traditional PowerPoint lecture and to the intervention group with a social media-supported message. Data were collected using the "student information form" developed by the researchers, the "Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI)", and the "sleep hygiene index (SHI)". Percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test were used in the evaluation of the data, and t-test in dependent groups was used in the evaluation of the dependent variables. Results: At the end of the pre-test and post-test of the study, an intergroup difference was found between the sleep hygiene of the students (p<0.05). In the in-group evaluations, it was determined that there was a significant decrease in the SHI post-test scores of the experimental group compared with the pre-test scores (t=3.35, p=0.002). In intragroup evaluations; there was a significant decrease in the PSQI scores of the experimental group (z=-3.152, p=0.002). Conclusion: The study found that both the sleep hygiene and sleep quality of the students were poor. The interventions used were found to be effective in improving sleep hygiene and quality. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between chronotype, social jetlag, attention control, and academic performance in nursing students during the Coronavirus disease-2019 pandemic. Materials and Methods: The descriptive study was conducted online with undergraduate nursing students (n=405) who were members of the Student Nurses Association and volunteered to participate in the study between July 2021 and April 2022. In collecting the data of the research, students' academic performance information and sociodemographic data that may affect their chronotype were evaluated using the Student Information Form. In addition, the Social Jetlag Form, Morning Evening Scale, and Attention Control Scale were used for evaluation. Results: The mean age of the students participating in the study was 20.29±0.91, 75.8% were female and 41.5% were freshmen. When the chronotypes of the students were examined, it was observed that 18.0% of them were morning-type, 68.6% of them were intermediate -type, and 13.4% of them were evening-type. When the chronotype characteristics of the students, their weighted passing grade, attention control point average, and weekday sleep duration were examined, no significant difference was observed between them (p>0.05). However, when the average of social jetlag hours was compared according to chronotypes, a statistically significant difference was found (p<0.05). Social jetlag values of morning students were found to be significantly lower than those in the evening and intermediate students. The social jetlag values in the intermediate type. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between social jetlag and chronotype variables, attention control, and academic performance in the post-pandemic period. It can be said that students with an evening type chronotype and creating their own timelines for the social jetlag value create a positive change. However, in the new post-pandemic period, this seemingly positive change is thought to have negative consequences in terms of the adaptation of university students to the new normal. Aim: This cross-sectional study was conducted to determine nursing students' attitudes towards the profession and their fear levels of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and to examine the relationship between these two situations. Material and Methods: The research was conducted using the online questionnaire method with 571 students studying in the 3rd and 4th grades of the nursing department between February and April 2021. Data were collected using the "Socio-demographic Form", "COVID-19 Fear Scale" and "Attitude towards Nursing Profession Scale". Results: It was determined that the mean age of the students was 21.78±1.46 (min:20, max:30), 77.9% were female, and 51.1% were 4th-grade students. It was found that the mean score of the Fear of COVID-19 scale of nursing students was 14.01±4.56, and the mean score of the Attitude Towards Nursing Profession scale was 155.60±17.53, and there was no significant relationship between the mean scores of these two scales (r =0.002, p=0.964). Conclusion: It has been determined that the students have a moderate fear of COVID-19, have a positive attitude towards the profession, and fear of COVID-19 does not affect their professional attitude. Amaç: Bu çalışma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinde şefkat korkusunun mesleki değerlere bağlılık ile ilişkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı olarak 2022 yılında gerçekleştirilen çalışmaya Sakarya’da bir üniversitedeki 121 hemşirelik öğrencisi katılmıştır. Veriler Öğrenci Tanılama Formu, Şefkat Korkusu Ölçeği ve Hemşirelerin Mesleki Değerleri Ölçeği-Revize (HMDÖ-R) kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzdelik, ortalama, Spearman korelasyon analiz; non-parametrik analizde Mann-Whitney U testi ve Kruskal Wallis testi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin Şefkat Korkusu Ölçeği’ne göre başkalarına anlayış ve şefkat göstermekten korkma düzeyinin ortalamaya yakın olduğu, başkalarından gelen şefkate karşılık vermekten korkma ve kendine şefkat göstermekten korkma düzeyinin ortalamanın altında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin HMDÖ-R puan ortalamasının ortalamanın üzerinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin kendine anlayış ve şefkat göstermekten korkma düzeyi ile mesleki değerlere bağlılık arasında negatif yönde anlamlı farklılık olduğu bulunmuştur (p lt;0,01). Ayrıca cinsiyet ile Şefkat Korkusu Ölçeği alt boyutları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olduğu (p lt;0,05). Sonuç: Öğrencilerin kendine karşı anlayış ve şefkat göstermekten korkma düzeyi azaldıkça mesleki değerlere bağlılık düzeylerinin arttığı belirlenmiştir.

Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinde kaderciliğin sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranışlar ile ilişkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve ilişkisel olarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmaya bir üniversitede öğrenim gören 126 hemşirelik öğrencisi dâhil edilmiştir. Veriler öğrenci tanılama formu, Kadercilik Ölçeği ve Sağlığı Geliştirici ve Koruyucu Davranışlar Ölçeği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin istatistiksel değerlendirmesinde yüzdelik, ortalama, Spearman korelasyon analizi ve lineer regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Öğrencilerin Kadercilik Ölçeği genel ortalamasının (2,51±0,54), ön belirlenim alt boyut puan ortalamasının (2,68±0,60) ve karamsarlık alt boyut puan ortalamasının (2,58±0,77) ortalamaya yakın olduğu, bununla birlikte şans alt boyut puan ortalamasının ise (1,97±0,84) ortalamanın altında olduğu belirlendi. Öğrencilerin Sağlığı Geliştirici ve Koruyucu Davranışlar Ölçeği genel puan ortalaması ile (79,88±9,37), fiziksel (31,06±4,28), psikososyal (20,43±3,25) ve korunma (28,38±4,10) alt boyut puan ortalamalarının ortalamaya yakın olduğu tespit edildi. Öğrencilerin Kadercilik Ölçeği genel puan ortalaması ile Sağlığı Geliştirici ve Koruyucu Davranışlar Ölçeği genel puan ortalaması arasında negatif yönde zayıf düzeyde anlamlı farklılık olduğu bulundu (r=-0,356; p lt;0,01). Ayrıca kadercilik değişkeninin sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranışlar üzerinde anlamlı bir yordayıcı olduğu, kaderciliğin tek başına sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranışlar üzerinde toplam varyansın yaklaşık %13’ünü açıkladığı belirlendi (R=0,371; R2=0,130; F=19,733; p lt;0,01).Sonuç: Öğrenci hemşirelerin kadercilik ile sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranış düzeylerinin orta seviyede olduğu; kadercilik düzeyi arttıkça sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranış düzeylerinin azaldığı ve öğrencilerin kadercilik algılarının tek başına sağlığı geliştirici ve koruyucu davranışlar üzerinde önemli bir belirleyici olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
