Para referirnos a la vida y la obra del Dr. Gerardo Budowski Wolffgang, resulta muy útil la definición que él aportó acerca de sí mismo: “Aunque tengo formación en agricultura y silvicultura, me gustaría llamarme un gestor del uso de la tierra (“land use manager”), donde se tienen en cuenta las preocupaciones ambientales hacia la gestión sostenible de los recursos renovables naturales.” Por supuesto que uno podría agregar más calificativos a los diversos aportes de Budowski en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Sin embargo, la cita anterior los resume muy bien, y en pocas palabras clave: recursos renovables, uso de la tierra y gestión sostenible, con sus tres “patas” o dimensiones: ambientales, económicas y sociales. La carrera de Budowski se orientó en esa dirección, de una manera un poco sorprendente, partiendo de una base con enfoque productivo agrícola y forestal. Para otra persona con menos visión y capacidad que él, esta plataforma podría haber desembocado en un recorrido muy diferente y, probablemente, menos amplio.

Research in education provides, to a certain extent, many points to be debated by researchers, as it is an almost endless source in the production of knowledge. And, the interest in researching this topic, which is very sensitive to me due to my personal experiences, stems from a professional challenge in wanting to expand my experiences in the educational field. Which is no simple task. In this sense, we resort to the concepts of habitus, field, capital (economic, cultural, social) and agent present in Pierre Bourdieu's sociological theory as elements of theoretical foundation. Among the objectives of our research is an analysis of work in the educational field in military schools in the State of Goiás (with emphasis on three units located in Goiânia, Anápolis and Goianápolis). Here we will seek to present a clipping of our research, which is still in progress, presenting some results of descriptive data analysis. However, there is a qualitative step that is part of our methodology applied to this study and is based on a triangulation of data sources and qualitative and quantitative methods. Taking into account the patterns of work in our days (ANTUNES, 2009; BAUMAN, 2001), we emphasize the key role of communication in productive processes (VIRNO, 2003; FIGARO, 2005) by focusing on the power of communication as a model for the logic of flexible capitalism, established under a psychopower regime (HAN, 2014). Supported by the concepts of organizational communication (BALDISSERA, 2008), culture (GEERTZ, 1989), and organizational culture (BALDISSERA, 2014a; 2014b), we seek to reflect on the relations between managers and subordinates (GOFFMAN, 1996; SCHEIN, 2009; BALDISSERA, 2014). The communication processes adopted by managers, in particular those who aim at disciplining workers in order to keep the productive system moving, are approached based on Silva's empirical data (2016). Those were obtained through content analysis (BARDIN, 2011) and define, among others, the specific characteristics towards the nature of disciplinary communication processes. Thus, we present specificities of these communication processes and evidence that, although they allow more fulfillment and satisfaction for workers, they can also be powerful validators of worldviews and interests that privilege capital and organizations to the detriment of workers, generating many sometimes suffering for them. RESUMO: O presente trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que teve como objetivo compreender os limites e possibilidades da gestão de um curso na modalidade a distância que envolve as áreas de saúde e educação, com foco na percepção do gestor sobre sua gestão e sobre as consequências dela na atuação da equipe multidisciplinar de suporte. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, em que se utiliza do Estudo de Caso, ao lado de técnicas como a análise de conteúdo e pesquisa documental. O aporte teórico foi fundamentado em Mill (2006) Mill et al. (2010) Mill e Carmo (2012), Rocha et al. (2007) que apresentam uma discussão sobre EaD e autores na área de administração institucional. A literatura que tem buscado analisar a gestão de EaD tem se baseado fortemente em entender as instituições e seus processos numa perspectiva multidisciplinar. Os resultados apontam afinidade do discurso do gestor acerca da gestão com os autores clássicos da Administração, o que se relaciona com sua área de formação. Apontam, também, contradições na percepção do mesmo acerca dos limites da gestão da EaD, quando se confronta sua fala com o relatório final do curso em análise. Challenges of management in distance education: an analysis from the manager's perspective ABSTRACT: The present study presents the results of a research that had as objective to understand the limits and possibilities of the management of a course in the distance modality that involves the areas of health and education, focusing on the perception of the manager about its management and the consequences of it in the multidisciplinary support team. It is a research of a qualitative nature, in which the Case Study is used, alongside techniques such as content analysis and documentary research. The theoretical contribution was based on Mill (2006), Mill et al. (2010, 2012), Rocha et al. (2007) who present a discussion about Distance Education (DE) and authors in the area of institutional administration. The literature that has sought to analyze the management of DE has been based heavily on understanding the organizations and their processes in a multidisciplinary perspective. The results point to the affinity of the manager's discourse about management with the classic authors of the Administration, which is related to his area of formation. They also point to contradictions in the perception of the same about the limits of the management of the DE, when confronting his speech with the final report of the course under analysis KEYWORDS: distance education; management; multidisciplinary team; manager.

Contingency theory and systems theory are geared to explaining organizational factors. Among them, the decision-making process. The process takes into account uncertain environments and the level of information available. In this sense, the contingency theory raises contingent variables that may interfere in this process, contingencies. This study sought to identify the perception of contingent information by the managers. For this, a qualitative multihull research was conducted in companies of the Oil and Gas sector of the Campos Basin in Rio de Janeiro through a survey questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The research took into consideration for comparison of the study, contingent environmental, strategic, structural and technological information. It was observed that in the survey questionnaire the variable technology (dp = 1.41) and political regulation (1.30) are more relevant in the managers' perception, since they identify that the activity uses essentially cutting-edge technology to develop and are always adapting to new sector policies and regulations. In the analysis of similarity, it is observed that the words that have more co-occurrences, in the nucleus of the discourses are, "company", "no", "here", "much", "contract". To these words in a more peripheral position are found words like Petrobras, contract, organizational, environment, technology, strategy, structure, mechanic among others that connect the perception of contingencies that are perceived in routines, actions and decisions within an organization. It is concluded that through this analysis of similarity, it is observed that, managers perceive more contingencies in the technological and environmental scope reflecting them in the strategic and structural field. The present research aims to understand and evaluate the school climate in students, teachers and managers, seeking subsidies that guide the elaboration of actions to improve school coexistence. The school climate is understood as the set of perceptions of the members of the educational community in relation to the educational institution that involves factors related to the pedagogical and administrative structures, the organization and the social relations that occur in this environment. The evaluation of school climate was made through questionnaires addressed to students, teachers and managers covering eight dimensions that compose the climate. A total of 400 questionnaires were administered at a primary and secondary institution from the state public school system. The school actors, in general, had a positive perception about the dimensions of the school climate. However, the analysis of the itens that make up the dimensions reveals negative points which are contested among the participants. The "situations of intimidation among the students" were evaluated positively among the students; in counterpoint, some of the teachers had a negative perception. The "infrastructure and physical network of the school" and "family, school and community" were more negatively evaluated by students; in these the answers of the teachers were divided, predominantly, between neutral and positive; half of the managers negatively evaluated the institutional infrastructure. Also, "management and participation" were negatively evaluated by half of the teachers. Finally, the diagnosis made allows a greater knowledge about the school climate, contributing with the elaboration of proposals of interventions aiming at improving the quality of the coexistence in school. Public organizations are primarily engaged in providing efficient and effective services to society. As part of the strategy to ensure more efficiency in an organization, the managerial salary level is a relevant variable, and therefore needs to be scientifically addressed. Using a 2009-2013 database of managers' salaries in the Portuguese public health sector, we address its evolution throughout the financial crisis occurring in Portugal. The findings suggest that the public managers were left relatively unscathed by the salary cuts that most of the public servants had to endure during the period, due mainly to the increase in their variable earnings. This study presents the theme "Management of academies: Study of the factors that contribute to evasion and the strategies used by the managers for the permanence and recovery of clients in the academies", from an approach that highlights the management of these business establishments as a strategic element For the diversification, loyalty, growth and development of the business. In this way the objectives of the study are to analyze the factors that contribute to the evasion and the strategies used by the managers for permanence and recovery of the clients in the academies; Identify the reasons that lead the client to leave a gym; Quantify the average rate of evasion of clients in the academies; Check customer retention and recovery strategies. The methodological procedures highlighted the bibliographical research, through the use of academic works, scientific articles and updated course work; In addition, the field research was carried out with the consultation of a universe of managers from the Macapá Academies registered at CREF08, and the research instruments used were (quantitative and qualitative interview) structured interviews. As a result of the research, we conclude that the management of academies is a process that involves aspects such as specific knowledge, leadership capacity and determination to systematize organizational processes. The main objective of this study was to measure the degree of importance of accounting skills in relation to other factors considered relevant in the management of micro and small companies in the services sector in the city of Fortaleza-CE. This work also sought to measure the level of use of accounting information by managers. The results were reported through descriptive and exploratory analysis, demonstrating the aspects of the companies, the problems experienced by SMEs, accounting skills and their use in the decision making process, financial management skills, changing the performance of SMEs, the use of management in operational activities and the use of the skills necessary for the development of SMEs. To carry out the research, a questionnaire was applied to 96 companies located in the city of Fortaleza-CE. In order to support the analysis of the data, statistical tests (chi-square) were carried out in relation to the age group, the school formation and the time of the manager's performance in the SMEs. The present case for teaching aims to contribute to the process of reflection about the role of the manager of the company, as a decision maker, in the food sector, considering the difficulties and barriers encountered by the manager, as well as the strategies and actions that the company formulated as a result of these conjunctures. The case presented tells the story of Circulu's Lanches, carried out by the manager of the company, João, who in mid1991 decided to enter into a partnership with a family member and start his work in snack bar. The course of the story brings to light the difficulties encountered by the manager over the years, as well as the main actions of the manager and his team, his innovations and creations, such as the famous "Xis Bebum" and Circulu's Mayonnaise, culminating in today it is a business of success and reference in the market in which it operates. Esse artigo ensaístico explora como as características interpessoais e gerenciais do gestor podem influenciar no uso do modelo de inovação aberta nas organizações de pequeno porte. Optou-se por agregar aos entendimentos acerca da inovação aberta as concepções básicas do organizing de Karl Weick (1973) para a compreensão da lógica cognitiva dos gestores e dos aspectos culturais das organizações. Os indícios teóricos apontaram que no contexto dos pequenos empreendimentos o modelo é fortemente influenciado pelas características interpessoais do gestor, grau de institucionalização da empresa, bem como por sua cultura e identidade. O modelo de inovação aberta precisa não apenas ser “lido” (interpretado) pelos gestores que irão incorporá-lo e utilizá-lo, mas também precisa fazer sentido para eles. Nesse sentido, para a efetiva adoção do modelo de inovação aberta se faz necessário criar uma atmosfera propícia à captação das novas fontes de valor, mudando o foco da empresa para a forma aberta de encarar a competição empresarial e tendo no gestor o principal responsável por essa mudança. Como contribuição dessa pesquisa está a análise baseada no indivíduo-gestor como forma de compreender a efetividade do modelo de inovação aberta nos empreendimentos de pequeno porte, em que a figura do dono e do gestor muitas vezes se confunde.

A gestão profissional do Esporte tem sido tema recente de estudos no País, envolvendo pesquisas referentes ao gestor e sua atuação nos diferentes segmentos da Indústria do Esporte (Pitts & Stotlar, 2002). Poucos são os estudos desenvolvidos no sentido de caracterizar o administrador esportivo de clubes, federações e entidades de administração do Esporte (Bastos, 2003, 2004; Medalha,1982) e descrever as características organizacionais e de gestão de equipes brasileiras de Voleibol (Durieux, 2005; Pizzolato, 2004). A presente pesquisa, descritiva e exploratória, teve como objetivo descrever o perfil do gestor e as características organizacionais de equipes de Voleibol do Brasil participantes da Superliga de Voleibol 2007-2008, através de estudo de casos múltiplos. Para tanto, foi aplicado questionário junto aos gestores das equipes, composto de questões abertas e fechadas. Concluiu-se que as equipes possuem gestor profissional que exerce funções gerenciais estratégicas, e que a estrutura organizacional do Voleibol brasileiro de alto rendimento se caracteriza por ser fortemente calcada na instituição clubística, amparada prioritariamente pela iniciativa privada e com apoio do setor público municipalProfessional sport management has been a theme of studies in Brazil, involving researches concerning the manager and his performance in different segments of the sports industry (Pitts & Stotlar, 2002). Several studies have been developed, to characterize the administrator of clubs, federations and sports administration entities (Bastos, 2003, 2004; Medalha,1982) and to describe the organizational and managerial characteristics of brazilian volleyball teams (Durieux, 2005; Pizzolato, 2004). This survey, descriptive and exploratory, had the main objective of describing the manager profile and the organizational characteristics of brazilian volleyball teams, participants of the "2007-2008 Volleyball Superleague Championship", through multiple case studies. For this, the team managers answered a questionnaire. The main findings were that the teams have professional managers, performing managerial strategic functions. Furthermore, the organizational structure of the high level brazilian volleyball teams is characterized by being strongly based on the social sports clubs model, sponsored mainly by the private sector and supported by the municipal governments

O propósito didático-pedagógico inovador do trabalho dos três autores é exposto sob dois prismas, Ser Professor e Dirigir Professores em um mesmo contexto, em Tempos de Mudança. Os autores Lourdes Bazarra, Olga Casanova e Jerónimo García Ugarte são professores que adicionaram à sua práxis em sala de aula, o papel de formadores, através do Grupo Arcix fundado em 1998, onde criam, coordenam e desenvolvem experiências formativas para gestores, professores e pais, além de acompanhar e prestar consultoria a instituições e centros de informação. Lourdes Bazarra e Olga Casanova são licenciadas em Filologia Hispanica. Jerónimo García Ugarte é professor de Filosofia e Psicologia e tem mestrado Direção e Gestão de Recursos Humanos, e Organização e Prática da Educação.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of consistency of the pedagogical projects and related discipline descriptions of Public Administration undergraduate courses which have received grade 5 in the National Exam of Students„ Performance (ENADE), concerning the formation of the necessary competences for the good performance in professional practice. By adopting a methodological approach which combined qualitative and quantitative methods, we aimed at examining the relationship between academia and practice. For the quantitative research, a questionnaire applied to public managers was used based on Keinert (1994), the purpose of the questionnaire was to identify "the level of importance", "the intensity of use", and "the domain" in relation to the 30 competences identified. The qualitative research was carried out through content analysis of pedagogical projects and course descriptions. According to the results, competences were assessed as "very important" for work context, and most of them are being used in professional practice. Some results show some weaknesses that must be considered by the academy, for example, the lowest dominion of the respondents be directed to the "political competence", "citizenship and democracy", strategic vision ","sustainability" that are essential competencies for context public.
