This study explores how information technologies can be utilized in foreign literature education (FLE) to alleviate foreign language anxiety (FLA) among Chinese students. FLA, characterized by apprehension and discomfort when engaging with a foreign language, often hampers motivation, confidence, and comprehension, especially in literary contexts. Using a multistage cluster sampling design, data were collected from 455 students through online questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS. The findings reveal that integrating interactive learning technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and gamification, significantly reduces FLA. These technologies foster a supportive and immersive environment, enhancing oral proficiency, cultural understanding, and student confidence. The study introduces innovative strategies to mitigate psychological barriers, contributing valuable insights into the use of technology to create more conducive learning environments. The research underscores the importance of interactive technology in minimizing anxiety, enriching language acquisition, and promoting a more effective and engaging FLE experience. Accelerating the construction of a Chinese intellectual system for foreign literature research in China is a new mission and responsibility entrusted to foreign literature researchers in the new era. China's foreign literature criticism is increasingly characterized by a distinct sense of subjectivity and cultural confidence, while also facing three challenges: changes in literary thoughts, complex contexts, and research paradigms. Therefore, it is necessary to correctly handle the dialectical relationship between the constant and the variable in literary research, highlight a holistic view of literary criticism, delve deeper into the core ideas of foreign literature, and emphasize the intrinsic alignment and integration of literature and thought. Over the course of his distinguished career, Wang Shouren has published on a wide range of subjects, from traditional literary criticism to reflections on the place of literary studies in China and the rest of the world. Much of his work has drawn on insights from a range of cognate fields, not least from history. This article discusses the role of history in Wang Shouren's writings, focusing mainly on his English-language works. The article begins by discussing his use of biographical analysis to explicate literary works, before moving on to explore his use of literary genealogy to throw light on nineteenth-century English unacted drama. The article then analyses how Wang Shouren's literary scholarship has drawn on cultural history, and it concludes by explaining how he has applied historical and literary knowledge to provide insights into contemporary social and political issues. Overall, the article provides a glimpse into a richly impressive scholarly career which has contributed a great deal to the study of literature both in China and around the world. As one of the symbols of the initial establishment of modern Chinese scholarship, the discipline of foreign literature emerged in the evolution of modern national education trends and changes in national education, which is the inevitable result of Chinese learning from the West since modern times. With the deepening of Chinese understanding of the values and connotations of Western studies, the reformists represented by Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao played an important role in the reform of national education and the creation of foreign literature discipline. They not only have a profound discourse of national education, linking national education with the era proposition of saving the nation from subjugation, but also notice and introduce foreign literature to varying degrees. “Do it for the kids,” cry climate activists, in an appeal to intergenerational responsibility. Climate change fictions make similar emotional appeals to their audiences by centering their plots around a family struggling to beat the odds of the Anthropocene. Electing the nuclear family as the genre standard reinforces heteronormativity, relies on the misleading catharsis of the “child savior” figure, and furthers procreational narratives. To examine the norms of the family in Cli-fi, this paper examines two popular short stories, “Quiet Town” by Jason Gurley and “The Smog Society” by Chen Qiufan and two Climate Disaster films, 2012 (2009) and The Day After Tomorrow (2004 dir. Roland Emmerich). To contextualize my exploration of such tropes, I consulted theory across multiple relevant disciplines: particularly, Edelman’s Queer theory of reproductive futurism and James Hughes’ work on Sociological Biopolitics informed my analysis. Close reading analyses found that even as Cli-fi work blocked the agency of children they also placed upon them the responsibility of maintaining and perpetuating generational and heteronormative tradition. Times of crisis within the story were mirrored by the destruction of the nuclear family, and times of environmental sustainability were signaled by the nuclear family. With this paper I hope to encourage further research into the emerging genre of Cli-Fi and the norms of gender enshrined within it.

Новая концепция гуманитарных наук делает упор на разрушение барьеров между различными дисциплинами, создание новой системы дисциплин и системы знаний, упор на развитие мыслительных способностей студентов посредством передачи знаний и восстановление связи между «преподаванием» и «обучением». Цель статьи – анализ пути реформ преподавания иностранной литературы в контексте «новой концепции гуманитарных наук». Материалом исследования послужили документы Министерства образования КНР о построении «новой концепции гуманитарных наук», соответствующие исследовательские работы CNKI Китая, а также примеры в преподавании предмета «Иностранная литература». В исследовании используется литературный метод исследования, эмпирический метод исследования и метод сопоставления. В этом контексте преподавание иностранной литературы должно разрушать барьеры между курсами и осуществлять интеграцию между ними. Иностранная литература в различных университетах Китая делится на историю иностранной литературы, чтение иностранных литературных произведений и теорию иностранной литературы, однако в обучении мы должны сочетать эти курсы. Во время преподавания истории литературы мы должны помочь студентам понять особенности литературного языка в оригинальных художественных текстах, мы должны проникнуть в литературную теорию в изучении работ, научить студентов анализировать конкретные литературные тексты с помощью литературной теории и метода критики и реализовать сочетание теории и практики. В преподавании иностранной литературы мы должны не только иметь глобальное поле зрения, но и национальное и семейное чувства, чтобы распространять китайскую культуру на международной арене и хорошо преподавать китайскую историю и установить уверенность в культурных различиях. Русская литература содержит глубокий патриотический дух, гуманитарный дух, глубокое культурное наследие и гражданское сознание. Благодаря преподаванию этого курса мы направляем студентов к созданию патриотизма, строим сознание граждан и развиваем гуманитарный дух. В результате мы будем объединять знания, способности и взгляд на ценность, чтобы улучшить идеологическую и моральную грамотность учащихся. В процессе преподавания мы советуем студентам активно участвовать в преподавательской деятельности и в дискуссиях. Интерактивные действия между преподавателями и студентами могут мобилизовать энтузиазм студентов, стимулировать их творческий потенциал, предоставить им возможности для использования и демонстрации собственных возможностей и помочь им улучшить языковые способности. В то же время преподавание иностранной литературы не только может придать знания, но и формировать способности мышления и стимулировать способности воображения студентов. Использование вспомогательных инструментов, таких как мультимедиа, интернет, видео, сайт, может не только расширить объем учебной программы литературных курсов и сделать метод обучения диверсифицированным, но и поддерживать связь с информационными технологиями, цифровой культурой и Сетью. Этот метод обучения может стимулировать энтузиазм студентов в обучении и формировать добродетельный цикл процесса обучения. Преподаватели должны ввести результаты своих исследований, а также научные методы в аудитории, постоянно обогащать и обновлять контент преподавания. В настоящее время оценки обучения по иностранной литературе в различных университетах Китая заключаются в письменной форме. Этот метод оценок не способствует развитию творческих способностей и улучшению способностей производить литературный анализ у студентов. Поэтому мы пытаемся использовать комбинацию письменных тестов и устных тестов при оценке обучения для всестороннего улучшения языковых навыков учащихся и культурной грамотности. «Новая концепция гуманитарных наук» состоит в том, чтобы сбросить необоснованные барьеры, установленные дисциплинами, не связана границами невидимых дисциплин. «Новая концепция гуманитарных наук» является неизбежным результатом гуманитарных и социальных наук, адаптирующихся к социальному развитию. As a result of the deep penetration of digital technologies into library activities, new directions and types of services are emerging in the industry. As a result, libraries, especially large ones, are moving from a local type of service to an international service at the global level. It is this aspect that requires changing the rules that have been used in practice in libraries for many years, giving rise to the need for a completely new approach to some issues. One of these issues is related to the fact that when forming a bibliographic record in foreign languages, especially rare editions, it is allowed to give the name of the work in transliteration, transcription or translation. This approach has been preserved even today in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and has been used in practice since the last century – since Soviet times, even being fixed through state standards that coordinate the activities of the library. In fact, this approach was correct in the last century, when libraries served the user locally. It has ceased to be in demand due to the widespread use of digital technologies in library activities and the transition to global service. Creating and commenting on a relationship between texts, even when there is none, is a way of creating a “possible text”, which is a new definition of the traditional French notion of “comparative fact”.

The article is devoted to the research of definition and the comparative analysis of characteristics of a number of concepts, such as “radicalism”, “radical” “radical ideology” and the term “radicalization”, derivative of them, in modern foreign literature. The study method is a comparative review of the most common approaches reflected in foreign literature. The author considers the history of the emergence and the process of evolution of the studied concepts, their original and modern meaning, reflected in foreign scientific literature. The ambiguity of the boundaries of these concepts has been demonstrated, while highlighting the common approaches of various researchers to determining their essence, which allows us to talk about their “relative nature”. The signs of such a phenomenon as “radicalization” are highlighted, as well as the features of such varieties of “radicalization” identified in the scientific literature as “violent radicalization”, “terrorist radicalization” and “non-violent radicalization”. The relationship of the concept of “radicalization” with such terms as “extremism”, “violent extremism”, “non-violent extremism” is clearly shown. At the same time, attention is also focused on their fundamental differences allocated in the works under study, as well as on the attitude to political violence. The duality and ambiguity of existing approaches, fundamental differences in the views of different researchers regarding the definition of the characteristics of the “radicalization” process are shown. The conclusion was made about the limitation of the approach, which characterizes the concept of “radicalization” exclusively as a process of “transformation into a terrorist”. It was emphasized that “radicalization” is far from always part of the socalled “Conveyor Belt to Terrorism”, and such an approach is too narrow and lopsided. The importance of returning to the traditional understanding of the essence of the concept of “radicalization”, which considered this phenomenon, is outlined primarily as a process of disseminating radical ideas, regardless of their relationship to violence as a means of achieving goals. The levels and trajectories of the “radicalization” process that can be used in the analysis of this phenomenon are identified, which can be considered as a new contribution to the study of this phenomenon.

This article deals with the problems of speech competence development in the system of foreign literature studying. It was established that basic directions of studying in the 7th form are to comprehend the text (emphasizing the theme, main thoughts, making plans of images etc.), develop independent thinking and an ability to analyze and make own judgments. An important task of literature education of V-VII form students is to develop an ability to clearly pronounce their thoughts and to choose and use extracts from the texts in verbal and nonverbal speech properly. Based on these criteria of language development for students of each "language age" we develop our own criteria and levels that serve as guidelines for the organization of language activities at the study of literature. Thus, in the work on the development of students' speech in connection with the study of literature, it is necessary to combine three approaches: psycholinguistic, based on the theory of language activity; linguodidactic, which studies the patterns of teaching native and foreign languages and methodological-literary, which takes into account the possibilities of literary studies, criticism and theory of public speaking. In the focus of attention – a collection of Albert Maltz’s letters to Raisa Orlova deposited in the funds of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts (RGALI). A brief review of Maltz’s biography allows to trace back the origins of his loyalty to the USSR which manifested itself in many ways. Being a member of John Reed’s Club and actively publishing his articles on aesthetics in the leftwing magazine New Masses, Maltz ended up serving criminal punishment for subversive anti-American activities. At the peak of McCarthyism hysteria, he was almost labeled as a Soviet spy. Soviet editorial policies towards Maltz’s novels and short stories provide conclusive evidence that literary critics in the USSR had a keen interest in his works and continued to treat him as a friend of the Soviet Union – a fact that seems exceptional against the background of the Cold War outbreak. Maltz’s relationships with Soviet Russia climaxed in his journey to Moscow when he intended to discuss some alarming political trends. At that time he got to know prominent Soviet figures who challenged his attitude to Stalinism and Soviet socialism. In the letters to Orlova Maltz mentions some facts about his work and life which he presented to the Oral History Project delivered by California University. At the same time, his correspondence features exclusive opinions on a number of matters which he did not voice publicly until late 1970s.

The author analyzes the points of view of Russian authors on the history of privatization in Russia, and they are compared with the opinion of foreign researchers. Herewith, the understanding of politicianscontemporaries of the “privatization era” is compared with scientifi c opinion. The attitude towards privatization of the two political leaders M. Gorbachev and B. Yeltsin is shown. Criteria of inclusion of works to the historiographical review are defi ned – it is presence in them judgments on a questions: whether reforms of the fi rst half of 1990s were direct logical continuation of Perestroika? or did Yeltsin's team, which came to power, change the strategy of domestic policy including privatization in the spirit of revolutionary traditions? The author characterizes the conditions under which there was a process of understanding reforms in Russia, and concludes: there are many similarities between the domestic neoliberal assessment of privatization and the opinions of foreign researchers, but there are also differences. The value of the comparative method in the foreign literature on privatization is revealed as well the conceptions “of inevitability of privatization” and “of destruction of the socialist system”, common in Russian historiography, are compared. The novelty of the problem statement lies in the fact that the research experience of Russian and foreign authors is presented both at the conceptual level and in line with the Far Eastern regionalism. The main aspects of the privatization study on the Far East materials are revealed.

This paper focuses on the role of literary translation in the development and enrichment of national literature. Literary translation establishes complex mutual relations between nations. It can replace and strengthen original genres (for instance during the creation of national literature) and also influence fields where the national literary output is not yet sufficient. Moreover, literary translation can allow for the development of national literature and its literary language. This paper sheds light on the role of literary translation in elevating national literature; deepening and refining the artistic, aesthetic and literary ideas and tastes of readers; and laying the foundations for the advancement and modernization of national literature. The developed analysis of the collection (conference “The theory and history ekphrasis: results and studying prospects” [Poland, Siedlce, 25–on May, 26th 2017]) are in given article. The author of research has paid attention not discrepancy of the term “ekphrasis”. The term “ekphrasis” possesses the big semantic potential, therefore term borders are absent in a modern philological science. The reviewed collection reveals scientific problems, these problems are connected with understanding of the term. Ekphrasis finds out “imperial ambitions” and aspires to replace with itself other concepts. The difficult structure of the collection finds out impossibility of classification of a material. However the term is claimed modern литературоведческой by a science because ekphrasis describes the latent structure of the text. In the review the author addresses to the most important researches which have entered into various sections of the collective monography.

Exploring the culture and literature of countries around the world is increasingly important in the current trend of international exchange and integration. Therefore, foreign literature disciplines, including Japanese literature, occupies an increasingly essential position in the curriculum of Dong Thap University. However, the perception and teaching of Japanese Haiku poems have long been challenged due to language barriers as well as cultural differences. In order for enhancing the quality of teaching Haiku poetry to Literature Pedagogy majors at Dong Thap University, the article presents a new approach towards classical Haiku poetry through the perspective of ink painting art (aka painting art). With the aim of observing the beauty of Japanese literature and culture, the study analyzes the causes and some specific manifestations of the similarities between Japanese ink painting art and classical Haiku poetry in terms of artistic methods. The root cause lies in the influence of Zen, as a cultural characteristic of the Japanese spirit, and the specific manifestations include the technique of empty spaces in ink painting art, and the empty poetic strategy in classical Haiku poetry, the features of the conception scenery and the moment characteristic in both Oriental art genres.

The article focuses on the critical reception of Ewa Lipska's poetry in Italy. It takes into consideration the volumes translated by Marina Ciccarini (2013, 2017), Paolo Statuti (2014), as well as the translated poems that appeared in literary magazines (Marco Bruno, 2019). The analyzed material includes the commentaries on Lipska by Italian literary critics published in newspapers and on the Internet. The article presents how the previously translated Wisława Szymborska's poetry and its success in Italy has influenced the way in which Lipska is perceived in critical reception. The analysis takes into consideration also editorial factors such as the role of the publisher in the diffusion and perception of foreign poetry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

For what reason sanskrit theatre was received with a great emotion by European Romantics, whereas long narrative poems after some time were disqualified as epics? This paper focuses on the comparisons and the connections made at the beginning of Western reception of sanskrit literature in the XIXth century, in attempt to understand the complex interplay of beliefs, expectations and affects in the process of reception of a remote literature which presides over the categorisation into literary genres, and consequently governs its assessment and its integration.

Multi-values theory is considered an effective tool in constructing society with diversified cultures and respect for equality and human rights. It has become a mainstream trend for educational development. This paper uses western feminism literatures as examples, and conducts research into multi-angle aesthetic education of foreign literatures. It explains the multi-values theory contained in foreign literatures, discusses elements in the literature works, and proposes diversified teaching strategy and methods on foreign literature aesthetics based on multi-values theory. Through analyzing changes in holders of rights and consciousness of rights, as well as expanding right space thanks to three rounds of feminist trends, this paper sets to promote and contribute to the development of western feminism theory from an aesthetic perspective.
