This study was conducted to test the effects of a sponsored fertilizer containing micronutrients on Kentucky bluegrass and creeping bentgrass. The data was collected on the shoot and root growth, turf performance and tissue nutrients within the shoot system. The root system in the turf pots with no additional NPK started to decline after the second trial and was therefore harvested. The turf pots receiving NPK continued in the trials. The results show that both species NPK fertility rates and rootzone had a great effect on root growth. 2 of the creeping bentgrass treatments had a greater number of shoots and root growth than the Kentucky bluegrass. Overall the liquid carboxy used in treatments had a greater increase on the chlorophyll index, root growth and shoot growth than the other treatments. Enviro-sol

This study evaluates the performance of a sponsor’s fertilizer when applied to a low-cut Kentucky bluegrass in a soil rootzone. Treatments consisted of 22 different variations in rate and volume of the sponsor's fertilizer compared to 1 control group. Significant effects on turf colour and visual ratings based on canopy reflection were seen till the last day of observation, 82 days after initial fertilizer application. All fertilized plots showed positive improvement over the unfertilized plot. Generally, plots receiving 2x rates performed higher than plots that only received 1x rate, with minimal exceptions. The 2x treatment that performed the poorest was IHS 71155 and was outranked by the 1x treatment IHS 632416. The purpose of this study was to assess the performance of the sponsor's fertilizer when added to creeping bentgrass with a high sand rootzone. 8 varieties of the sponsor's fertilizer at different concentrations and volumes were tested and compared to a control group. The general observations concluded that the treated plots performed higher than the control with 2x plots on average performing higher than plots treated once. More specifically fertilizers IHS 71152 and IHS 63241 performed well all season in both 1x and 2x. IHS 71151 was rated low at the beginning of the season for both 1x and 2x application but by the end of the season, the NDVI value was the highest for IHS 71151 2x treatment. This study investigated the performance of a sponsored fertilizer when applied to creeping bentgrass in a soil rootzone. Data was collected on colour response, turf quality, uniformity, density, and resistance to diseases. Significant colour difference was seen for 75 days post fertilizer treatment. All treatments established better results than the untreated control, with the 2x groups generally fairing better than the 1x groups. This study compared the effectiveness of a sponsor's fertilizer against an industry-standard when applied to creeping bentgrass on putting green turf. 5 treatments were applied, 3 of which were the sponsor's fertilizers, 1 industry-standard (IBDU) and 1 control plot. Data was collected over the colour, strength, turf quality density, uniformity, and resistance to disease, stress, and weeds. The plots that received treatment fared better than the control plot throughout the entire season but especially at the end. Plots that received only 1 application of fertilizer yielded good results at the bedding of the season but then dropped over time. Plots receiving 2 applications of treatment yielded more consistent results throughout the entire season, and plots receiving 4 treatments had the highest positive results. Data was collected over the colour, strength, turf quality density, uniformity, and resistance to disease, stress, and weeds. 6 treatments were applied to the plots at random. 3 treatments were variations of the sponsor's fertilizer, 1 industry standard and a control plot. The results showed that all fertilized plots had a higher nitrogen content than the unfertilized plot. The fertilized plots had higher chlorophyll indexes and visual colour response than the control. The Corn Plus treatment was the only treatment that fared worse than the control on a few dates, the other treatments were constantly above the control. The following study was conducted to evaluate the performance of a sponsor's fertilizer against an industry-standard when applied to creeping bentgrass in a high sand rootzone. Data was collected on colour response, turf quality, uniformity, density, and resistance to diseases. 6 treatments were applied to randomized plots of creeping bentgrass, 4 of which were the sponsor's fertilizer, one industry standard (SCU) and a control group. All fertilized plots fared better than the control, more so later in the season. The spectrum colour and visual data showed that treatment D developed a darker rich green colour. Although treatment D did not have a higher growth rate or chlorophyll index throughout the whole season. This study was conducted to test the effectiveness of a sponsor's fertilizer on the phytotoxicity that is a result of dog urine. Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescue, and perennial ryegrass received dog urine then treatment of the test fertilizer, industry-standard or nothing. Data was collected on the rate of germination, root and shoot growth rate, and recovery/survival rate. The results of the study concluded that both of the fertilizers tested failed to provide complete protection from the phytotoxic effects occurring after the addition of dog urine. 3 weeks into the trial no plots had living leaf tissues left. The perennial ryegrass treated with Rothsay fertilizer appeared to slow down the phytotoxic effects and somewhat recovered 6 weeks post-treatment. Rothsay

This study tested the effectiveness and quality of a sponsored fertilizer on the growth of creeping bentgrass in a high sand rootzone. The sponsor's fertilizer was applied at the recommended volume and rate and was compared to two industry standards and a control plot. Data was collected on colour, quality, uniformity, density, shoot growth rate, and resistance to disease. The results of the study showed that all fertilized plots had higher nitrogen levels than the control. In general, the Rothsay and Miloganite plots had higher visual rates than Sustane and the control. Rothsay had the highest chlorophyll index by a large margin and the highest NDVI value by a smaller difference. The overall growth rate of the creeping bentgrass plots did not show a clear ranking of the fertilizers. This study evaluates the growth of Kentucky bluegrass in a nutrient-controlled rootzone after the addition of the sponsor's fertilizer-herbicide combination. Data was collected on performance, root and shoot growth/rate, and resistance to disease. Four trials of the sponsor's product were compared to one trial of an industry standard and a controlled trial. All the experimental treats showed a similar pattern of healthy growth. The control group saw a surprising and steady drop in growth rate until it was harvested 100 days after initial treatment. The group that received the controlled NPK treatment resulted in the best initial and sustained growth over the trial. Researchers hypothesize that the initial growth before treatment of four weeks was not adequate time before adding the herbicide, however, if the herbicide-fertilize was applied any later the grass would risk a decline in growth. This study evaluates the performance of the sponsor’s organic plant nutrient product on newly planted Kentucky bluegrass shoot and root growth. Data was collected on germination rate and percentage, establishment rate, seedling vigour, turf performance, and the rate of shoot system growth. Significant differences were seen in treatments after the first application of treatment. However, similar trends were observed after the second application of treatment. It was concluded that the alfalfa green treatment produced statistically significant improvements over the untreated plots and the NPK plots. This study evaluates the performance of the sponsors liquid fertilizer in comparison to the industry standard when applied to Kentucky bluegrass on a home lawn turf in a soil rootzone. Data was collected on the colour, strength, uniformity, density, quality, and resistance to stress and disease. Six trials were conducted with the sponsor's fertilizer and compared to one industry standard and one control. The results of the study conclude that the experimental fertilizer showed no improved effects on the Kentucky bluegrass over the industry-standard fertilizer. None of the chlorophyll index measurements of the treated plots were significantly higher than the control. It was determined that the background fertilizer in this turf was slightly too high, interfering with the fertilizer treatments in the trial. BioTLC

Data was collected on the colour, quality, uniformity, density, root system and shoot growth rate, and resistance to disease. 4 trials were conducted involving the sponsor’s product and compared to a trial treated with an industry standard and a controlled trial. The results concluded that under the given conditions, no significant effects were recorded from the sponsor's product in relation to the plot's growth or performance. This study evaluates the performance of an experimental organic fertilizer made from meat and bone meal (Rothsay 9-3-3) compared to the industry-standard fertilizer (Anderson 18-6-15). The fertilizers were applied to creeping bentgrass in a high sand root zone. Data was collected on turf quality, colour, uniformity, density, shoot growth, and resistance to disease/ drought stress. The industry standard had a faster response and a measured 50% fast release of N, in the release of synthetic N form. The experimental Rothsay material is estimated to have higher uniformity rates in slow release. This study evaluates the performance of Milogranite and IBDU fertilizers in combination and alone when applied to creeping bentgrass on a putting green turf. Data was collected on turf quality, colour, uniformity, density, shoot growth, and resistance to disease/ drought stress. Small differences were seen between the treatments especially after the second treatment of fertilizers released nitrogen. Larger differences were seen between fertilized and unfertilized plots. All fertilized plots yielded a positive performance in turf quality, uniformity, and colour. Generally, the IBDU fertilizer treatment provided better results than the Milogrant fertilizer treatment. This study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of reducing grass and broadleaf weed infestation and germination after an experimental corn gluten meal-based fertilizer was applied. Data was collected over the establishment and germination rates of broadleaf weeds, phytotoxicity levels in the turf species, and the turf functional features (uniformity, quality, colour, and density). Results collected from both greenhouse and field trials conclude that there was no phytotoxicity in any of the treatments and that the sponsor's fertilizer had an early post-emergence herbicide effect on the grass and broadleaf weed species. This study evaluates the performance of a homogeneous fertilizer provided by the sponsor when applied to creeping bentgrass in a high-sand root zone. Seven experimental treatments were conducted at different volumes and rates and compared with an industry standard and control. Data was collected on the strength and duration of the colour response post-application and turf quality, density, uniformity, and resistance to drought/ disease. Data collected indicates a large difference in uniformity and colour, based on the number of days post-application of treatment. It was then concluded that all seven experimental treatments performed well in colour, uniformity and quality ratings. This study evaluates the performance of five fungicide treatments and two fertilizer treatments in attempts to control red thread disease in comparison to an untreated plot. The study was conducted from July to September 2003. The fertilizer treatments received an extra application of treatment (N-P-K, 25-3-20, at 2 kg/100m2) at the start of the experiment in addition to the standard application which happens in the fall. Results from the study show that all treatments significantly reduced the disease when compared to the control plot. The only exception to this trend was 26 gt (41 ml - 21 days). Data was then collected on the establishment and germination rates, chlorophyll index, total dry matter production, shoot growth, root to shoot ratio and rootzone electrical conductivity. This study evaluates the efficiency of six different treatments of corn meal gluten fertilizer and a control in its ability to control the growth of crass grass, broadleaf and other grass weeds. Due drought stress and high temperatures the crabgrass took longer to emerge than anticipated. Double rate corn gluten meal fertilizer and dithiopyr were the only treatments to reduce the growth of crabgrass at 64 DAT. Overall higher rates of the corn meal gluten, and dithiopyr were seen to be very effective in controlling crabgrass growth. these treatment's were close to 100% effective by 116 DAT. This study evaluates the performance of six different cool-season lawn seed mixtures that have been coated by an Nutri- Kote + Apron in comparison to an untreated control. On average the uncoated seed mixture emerged faster than the coated seed mixtures. Fertilizer treatments had little to no effect on emergence. First reported emergence occurred at day 6 with half of the uncoated seeds emerging by day 12, and hald of the 1.5X coated seeds emerging by day 20.
