A test statistic for nonlinearity of a given heavy-tailed time series process is constructed, based on the sub-sample stability of Gini-based sample autocorrelations. The finite-sample performance of the proposed test is evaluated in a Monte Carlo study and compared to a similar test based on the sub-sample stability of a heavy-tailed analogue of the conventional sample autocorrelation function. In terms of size and power properties, the quality of our test outperforms a nonlinearity test for heavy-tailed time series processes proposed by [S.I. Resnick and E. Van den Berg, A test for nonlinearity of time series with infinite variance, Extremes 3 (2000), pp. 145–172.]. A nonlinear Pareto-type autoregressive process and a nonlinear Pareto-type moving average process are used as alternative specifications when comparing the power of the proposed test statistic. The efficacy of the test is illustrated via the analysis of a heavy-tailed actuarial data set and two time series of Ethernet traffic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The integration of external devices and network connectivity into autonomous vehicles has raised significant concerns about in-vehicle security vulnerabilities. Existing security mechanisms for in-vehicle bus systems, which mainly rely on appending authentication codes and data encryption, have been extensively studied in the context of CAN and CAN-FD buses. However, these approaches are not directly applicable to Ethernet buses due to the much higher data transmission rates of Ethernet buses compared to other buses. The real-time encryption and decryption required by Ethernet buses cannot be achieved with conventional methods, necessitating an acceleration in the speed of cryptographic operations to match the demands of Ethernet communication. In response to these challenges, our paper introduces a range of cryptographic solutions specifically designed for in-vehicle Ethernet networks. We employ an AES-ECC hybrid algorithm for critical vehicle control signals, combining the efficiency of AES with the security of ECC. For multimedia signals, we propose an improved AES-128 (IAES-128) and an improved MD5 (IMD), which improve encryption time by 15.77%. Our proposed security mechanisms have been rigorously tested through attack simulations on the CANoe (version 10) platform. These tests cover both in-vehicle control signals, such as braking and throttle control, and non-critical systems like multimedia entertainment. The experimental results convincingly demonstrate that our optimized algorithms and security mechanisms ensure the secure and reliable operation of real-time communication in autonomous vehicles. The integration of automation equipment with intelligence has undoubtedly become the trend in the automation industry. In this regard, automated optical inspection (AOI) application, with advantages such as not being limited by working hours, rapid inspection, and low labor costs, are applied in the automation field. For mass production scenarios, AOI can address the allocation of operators, learning costs, and deficiencies in production efficiency. In this study, we adopted the You Only Look Once version 7 (YOLOv7) architecture for the AOI system to conduct sample inspections. At the same time, generative adversarial networks (GANs) were used to expand the sample database. The Ethernet communication architecture was also employed to integrate equipment such as a six-axis robotic arm, programmable logic controller (PLC), and an industrial computer. This integration gave the system intelligent functions such as automatic scheduling, production report statistics, and real-time monitoring. A graphical user interface was also designed to reduce personnel learning costs, simplify operations, and enhance equipment uptime. Ultimately, through the training of the YOLOv7 detection model, we achieved excellent detection results. The detection precision reached 91%, and the mean average precision (mAP@0.5) reached 83%. This confirms the value of using GAN technology to expand the AOI sample database, especially when there is a shortage of samples in the early stages of production. The media access control (MAC) address is the basis of frame forwarding in data‐link layer. When MAC missing occurs in the software‐defined network (SDN), the processing method is the same as that of Ethernet, which is also broadcast. The broadcast will spread and cover part or even the entire network, result in a large number of frames, which leads to a sharp increase in network traffic, even cause congestion. To suppress the layer‐2 flooding, a new frame forwarding method is proposed, namely, multidevice search and path generation (MSPG). New approach will search multiple devices when MAC missing occurs and calculate a forwarding path; a set of flow table is generated to restrain the switch from broadcasting. Experiments and analysis show that in comparison with the existing frame forwarding methods in SDN, MSPG can effectively suppress flooding, greatly reduce the network load, minimize the traffic between data plane and control plane when MAC missing occurs, and reduce energy consumption significantly. An Ethernet cable enables users to connect their electronic devices, such as smartphones, computers, routers, laptops, etc., to a network that permits them to utilize the internet. Additionally, it transfers broadband signals among connected devices. Wi-Fi is tremendously helpful with small, handheld gadgets, but if capacity is required, cable Ethernet connectivity cannot be surpassed. Ethernet connections typically work faster than Wi-Fi connections; they also tend to be more flexible, have fewer interruptions, can handle problems rapidly, and have a cleaner appearance. However, it becomes complicated to decide upon an appropriate Ethernet cable. The circular Fermatean fuzzy set (∘FF), an extension of the interval-valued Fermatean fuzzy set(IVFFS) for two dimensions, provides a comprehensive framework for decision-making under uncertainty, where the concept of symmetry plays a crucial role in ensuring the balanced and unbiased aggregation of criteria. The main objective of this investigation was to select one of the best Ethernet cables using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). We employed aggregation operators (AOs), such as Einstein averaging and geometric AO, to amalgamate cable choices based on predefined criteria within the ∘FF set environment. Our approach ranks Ethernet cable options by evaluating their proximity to the ideal choice using ∘FF cosine and ∘FF dice similarity measures to ∘FF Einstein-weighted averaging aggregation and geometric operators. Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a new technology developed from Ethernet that guarantees deterministic transmission of various types of flows, such as Time-triggered (TT) flows and Audio-video-bridging (AVB) flows, in the same network. Currently, Time-aware Shaping (TAS) and Credit-based Shaping (CBS) are widely used for scheduling hybrid flows, where the credit value in CBS is directly linked to the logical bandwidth value idleSlope, which affects the real-time performance of AVB flows. However, as the network scale increases, existing bandwidth allocation methods result in higher computation times and lower allocation success rates. In this article, the aforementioned problem is addressed by two-step: first, we design a load-balanced routing heuristic (LBRH) to improve the allocation success rate; second, we accelerate the CBS bandwidth allocation by using unified bandwidth allocation scheme, which integrates LBRH and further improves the allocation success rate. Performance evaluation in multiple test cases shows that LBRH can improve the success rate of bandwidth allocation, and the unified bandwidth allocation scheme integrating LBRH significantly reduces the overall execution time while improving the success rate of bandwidth allocation, which is more suitable for large-scale TSN networks with complex routing. This paper provides a method of assessing the toughness of augmented cables required for Ethernet technology. The use of augmented category 6 (Cat 6A) in Ethernet-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure continues to grow due to the high demand for services requiring such configuration. The increasing demand for Cat 6A over Ethernet is due to its ability to transmit both data and power to devices used in IoT which is cost-saving. However, the availability of counterfeit and substandard cables in the market disguised as category-rated cables is of great concern to cable installers and engineers. There is also the basic problem of handling stress anticipated during installation as cables could be manipulated in the form of repeated coiling and uncoiling. Therefore, there is a need to have a method of assessing the toughness of the cables before deployment. In this paper, two Cat 6A cables from different manufacturers were selected from the market to be used as samples for the experiment. The Cat 6A cables were exposed to two rounds of coiling to imitate the handling stress anticipated during installation. The return loss and near-end crosstalk (NEXT) of the cables which are the major performance indicators were collected using the DSX-5000 cable analyzer for each of the test processes. This is to evaluate their resilience or otherwise to handling stress. Feature Selective Validation (FSV) which is a standardized method of measuring the degree of agreement between two data sets was used in this research. The results showed the cable with the lowest variations between the first and third test measurements for each of the pairs examined. Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation for computing Interatomic Potential (IAP) is a very important High-Performance Computing (HPC) application. MD simulation on particles of experimental relevance takes huge computation time, despite using an expensive high-end server. Heterogeneous computing, a combination of the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and a computer, is proposed as a solution to compute MD simulation efficiently. In such heterogeneous computation, communication between FPGA and Computer is necessary. One such MD simulation, explained in the paper, is the (Artificial Neural Network) ANN-based IAP computation of gold (Au147& Au309) nanoparticles. MD simulation calculates the forces between atoms and the total energy of the chemical system. This work proposes the novel design and implementation of an ANN IAP-based MD simulation for Au147& Au309using communication protocols, such as Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART) and Ethernet, for communication between the FPGA and the host computer. To improve the latency of MD simulation through heterogeneous computing, Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART) and Ethernet communication protocols were explored to conduct MD simulation of 50,000 cycles. In this study, computation times of 17.54 and 18.70 h were achieved with UART and Ethernet, respectively, compared to the conventional server time of 29 h for Au147nanoparticles. One of the most common mitigations against network-borne security threats is the deployment of firewalls, i.e., systems that can observe traffic and apply rules to let it through if it is benign or drop packets that are recognized as malicious. Cheap and open-source (a feature that is greatly appreciated in the security world) software solutions are available but may be too slow for high-rate channels. Hardware appliances are efficient but opaque and they are often very expensive. In this paper, an open-hardware approach is proposed for the design of a firewall, implemented on off-the-shelf components such as an FPGA (the Xilinx KC705 development board), and it is tested using controlled Ethernet traffic created with a packet generator as well as with real internet traffic. The proposed system can filter packets based on a set of rules that can use the whitelist or blacklist approach. It generates a set of statistics, such as the number of received/transmitted packets and the amount of received/transmitted data, which can be used to detect potential anomalies in the network traffic. The firewall has been experimentally validated in the case of a network data throughput of 1 Gb/s, and preliminary simulations have shown that the system can be upgraded with minor modifications to work at 10 Gb/s. Emergency alert systems (EASs) have been deployed in some countries in order to broadcast emergency alerts and warning messages to the public. In this letter, we describe an innovative electronic embedded solution, named Firetec switch, intended to be placed in the FM radio stations. This switch will be supported by a server placed at the authorized officials, with the capability to generate the audio alerting messages. One interesting challenge is to deliver the messages only to the local public, in the catastrophe neighborhood, by using FM radio stations. The pre-silicon verification is typically more significant than post-silicon verification, which produces an algorithm with the correct functionality and timing parameters. In this paper we propose innovative pre-silicon verification methodology focused on the Ethernet controller architecture as the design under test (DUT). The methodology employs a layered verification architecture implemented using the system Verilog language, aiming to streamline the testing process. A novel test pattern test generator, interfaces and blocks are used to perform the verification. The test patterns are generated based on the operational principles of the ethernet controller block, ensuring comprehensive verification coverage. Additionally, the paper combines different verification parameters with existing approaches to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. Proprietary communication technologies for time-critical communication in industrial environments are being gradually replaced by Time-sensitive Networking (TSN)-enabled Ethernet. Furthermore, attempts have been made to bring TSN features into wireless networks so that the flexibility of wireless networks can be utilized, and the end-to-end timings for Time-Triggered (TT) streams can be guaranteed. Given a mixed wired-wireless network, the scheduling problem should be solved for a set of TT stream requests. In this paper, we formulate the no-wait scheduling problem for mixed wired-wireless networks as a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model with the objective of minimizing the flowspan. We also propose a relaxation of the original MILP in the form of a 2-stage MILP formulation. Next, a scalable approach based on the greedy heuristic is proposed to solve the problem for realistic-size networks. Evaluation results show that the greedy heuristic is suitable for realistic problem sizes where the MILP-based approach is found to be practically infeasible. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system that enables wirelessly linked devices to be tracked and managed remotely. It uses Ethernet protocols and the principles behind wireless sensor networks. Soil moisture monitoring, hydraulic pressure monitoring, soil testing, preventing trespassing through motion detection, and conserving energy are only some of the agricultural and irrigational operations that are the subject of this research. The implementation shown in this work breaks down larger systems into several smaller ones. A subsystem incorporates a vibration warning sensor, pump, and the ability to monitor soil moisture and hydraulic pressure to detect movement in and around the associated field. The second method will be utilized to deter intruders by picking up on their presence when they move within range of the necessary field barrier. Sensors for measuring current and voltage will be included for energy management regulation. It will be utilized for controlling the system. The main system will receive data through ZigBee from the first and second subsystems, monitor them, and then transfer them to the network router via ZigBee, where the necessary data will be shown on a website home page alongside the appropriate Ethernet protocols and current operating data. With the rapid development of vehicle electronic communication technology, in-vehicle bus network system communicates with external electronic devices such as mobile phones and OBD II, causing in-vehicle bus networks to face severe network security threats. This study aims to explore the security scheme of in-vehicle bus networks based on a key management system to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, and availability of vehicle communication, and innovatively propose a key management system. This key management system uses data encryption and signature algorithms based on the elliptic curve cryptographic domain, which is mainly composed of key generation and key distribution modules. By designing a key life cycle management strategy for In-Vehicle Ethernet and using the digital envelope technique, data encryption and digital signatures are combined to ensure the secure generation and distribution of keys. Experimental simulation results show that the session key negotiation speed of the proposed key management system for In-Vehicle Ethernet in this study is 1.533 ms, which improves the speed by 80.5% compared with the traditional key management system. The key management system proposed in this study improves the real-time information processing efficiency in In-Vehicle Ethernet and lays a solid foundation for the stable development of intelligent connected vehicles. In recent years, the number of smart contracts deployed on blockchain has exploded. However, the issue of vulnerability has caused incalculable losses. Due to the irreversible and immutability of smart contracts, vulnerability detection has become particularly important. With the popular use of neural network model, there has been a growing utilization of deep learning-based methods and tools for the identification of vulnerabilities within smart contracts. This paper commences by providing a succinct overview of prevalent categories of vulnerabilities found in smart contracts. Subsequently, it categorizes and presents an overview of contemporary deep learning-based tools developed for smart contract detection. These tools are categorized based on their open-source status, the data format and the type of feature extraction they employ. Then we conduct a comprehensive comparative analysis of these tools, selecting representative tools for experimental validation and comparing them with traditional tools in terms of detection coverage and accuracy. Finally, Based on the insights gained from the experimental results and the current state of research in the field of smart contract vulnerability detection tools, we suppose to provide a reference standard for developers of contract vulnerability detection tools.Meanwhile, forward-looking research directions are also proposed for deep learning-based smart contract vulnerability detection. With the rapid development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADASs) and autonomous driving technology, in-vehicle networks are facing huge challenges in real-time operation and data loss. Traditional vehicle bus network systems such as LIN, CAN, and FlexRay are insufficient to meet the real-time requirements of intelligent connected vehicles. In-vehicle Ethernet meets the requirements of high reliability, low electromagnetic radiation, low power consumption, bandwidth allocation, low latency, and real-time synchronization of intelligent connected vehicles. In-vehicle Ethernet has become one of the trends in the next generation of in-vehicle network architecture. This research focuses on the delay problem existing in the real-time data transmission process of in-vehicle Ethernet, and innovatively proposes a fixed point message scheduling algorithm (FPMS) based on time-sensitive network (TSN) technology. By building an experimental platform based on the CANoe simulation tool, the high-efficiency message transmission performance of the fixed point message scheduling algorithm was verified. Experimental results show that the fixed point message scheduling algorithm proposed in this study improves message transmission efficiency by 66%, laying a solid foundation for improving the real-time and reliability performance of in-vehicle Ethernet.
