- Abstract
In the treatment of a patient suffering from frozen shoulder (FS), the approach with manual therapy (MT) is fundamental, because, depending on the stage of evolution, it allows us to act on the patient’s symptoms. With a look at the literature and through the application of current neurophysiological knowledge, the setting of a manual therapy treatment path suitable for the patient and the clinical evolution of the pathology is indicated. The paper, thanks to the synergical dialogue with "The Manifesto for Care of Mental Health", thoughts about the removal of the psychic suffering, in the current psychiatric treatment. The attention for the psychic pain that can concern everyone is, now, treated according to the biological medical pattern based on so called "evidence". Even though that pattern of an arid and positivistic psychiatric cure is turning out disappointing, the psychiatric system is still drowned by the objectification of the illness, despite this means giving up to important fulfillments of relational knowledge and proficiency essential in the psychic care. - Abstract
La volontà dei professionisti dell’hospice di far conoscere le cure palliativ, Through an ethnographic investigation, this thesis intends to examine the representations, practices and experiences inherent to the experience of pain and the end of life in a particular biomedical field and space: an Italian hospice. An analysis of the thanatological literature, of the anthropology of pain and a partial historical reconstruction of the processes of medicalisation and hospitalisation allows to detect the constitution of a dimension of removal, concealment and marginalisation inherent to the experiences of end of life and chronic suffering in biomedical settings. It also detects the anthropological difficulty of interacting with and defining the events of pain and death. Events which are capable of undermining the categories given within a society and leading to a fracture in the relationship with oneself, the lived body, and the inhabited space. The main question guiding this text is how much and whether such references are effective in accounting for the communicative strategies, practices and experiences that occur within the hospice. In the second part of the text, I analyse the particular space of the hospice, how it is organised and experienced on the one hand by professionals who work there, and on the other by residents and visitors who find themselves living there. I try to highlight, from the accounts of my interlocutors, the peculiarities and specificities of the hospice compared to other places where biomedical knowledge is exercised, such as clinics and hospitals. The centrality given to the communicative and relational component in the work and experiences in the hospice suggests to consider the strongly multi-relational and multi-professional character of the space and the dynamics of interdependence that are constituted in it. The desire of the staff to share with the society the knowledge of palliative care and the relationship with the end-of-life experience promoted by it, has led me, in the last part of this thesis, to draw a com

- Abstract
The coronavirus epidemic has posed numerous scientific, clinical and patient-related health management problems. The doctors involved had the need to face new problems, to modify their work organization and their approach with the patient, and to increase their empathic capacity in various areas. Taking advantage of the various aspects of this experience can be decisive for building a health care that, through prevention, personalized clinic, research, privileges the person in toto with his right to health. The strong contribution given by young doctors is a source of hope for all of us. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Pain is the most delicate and complex of human experiences. It is difficult to accept and difficult to understand. This difficulty is evident in the work of scholars of the phenomena of emotional life. Indeed, there is something about pain that is mysterious and impenetrable, with an intrinsic sacredness that wholly obstructs understanding. Giving adequate attention to traumatic events and the suffering they cause is indispensable for a growing person, not only to become aware of pain as a concomitant aspect of existence, but also to give meaning to suffering. Educating for suffering is a challenge for contemporary pedagogy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This article addresses the many complex and traumatic losses wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic. In contrast to individually based, symptom-focused grief work, a resilience-oriented, systemic approach with complex losses contextualizes the distress and mobilizes relational resources to support positive adaptation. Applying a family resilience framework to pandemic-related losses, discussion focuses on the importance of shared belief systems in (1) meaning-making processes; (2) a positive, hopeful outlook and active agency; and (3) transcendent values and spiritual moorings for inspiration, transformation, and positive growth. Practice guidelines are offered to facilitate adaptation and resilience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Systematic reviews related to musculoskeletal disorders suggest that in addition to biological processes, psychosocial factors heavily influence the presentation and prognosis of symptoms. Cognitive factors such as self-efficacy have been associated with ona better prognosis for chronic pain presentation. Clinicians can improve selfefficacy with the mastery of professional experience and through verbal and non-verbal communication. Self-efficacy plays an important role in developing the ability to cope with pain and is a key mediator of change behavioral. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is today a growing respect for the physiatrist as a professional figure, who is seen increasingly as a qualified physician and expert in the treatment of patients with chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system. Multiple therapeutic choices are now available to the physiatrist, including some minimally invasive techniques for pain relief such as facet joint blockade and neuromodulation of the medial branch of the spinal nerve, percutaneous vertebroplasty, hip viscosupplementation, and neurolysis of the coxofemoral joint and geniculate nerves at the knee. COVID-19 , *PRECARITY , *LONELINESS , *EMOTIONAL trauma , *PANDEMICS - Abstract
In this paper I discuss Jungian psychological work of the trauma and loss experienced in reaction to COVID-19 with a man who represents a clinical composite. The issues of precarity, a concept used by the philosopher Judith Butler, are combined with the notions of lack and absence of French psychoanalyst André Green. The psychological and societal situation of precarity aroused the man's childhood issues that were long repressed. The loneliness, isolation and death from COVID-19 mirrored his personal and the collective responses to the disaster from this global pandemic. He felt on the edge of collapse as what he knew of his world crashed and he found himself unable to cope. The subsequent Jungian work taking place through the virtual computer screen was taxing and restorative simultaneously for both analyst and analysand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Without doubt, back pain is one of the most widespread problems existing and it poses a constant challenge for all healthcare professions. The treatment must be multifaceted and not just focus on the location of the pain, but consider the person as a whole. This article shows how through the Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) it is possible to intervene and considerably reduce the pathology itself. NST is an ideal system for restoring the functional integrity of the spine and reducing pain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

E come?

It was 1968 when Carlo Scarpa was commissioned for the basement project at the monument to the “Partigiana Veneta” by the artist Augusto Murer (Falcade 1922 - Padova 1985). Situated on the shore of the gardens of Venice, the work represents a surpassing of the concept of monument as a memory. Scarpa’s work can be described as “experimenting” on the next masterpiece of the Brion tomb where the concept of conjugal love and memory carries unstoppable spatiality. The work is a ritual that is renewed several times a day and in its renewal and showing in an ever-changing way creates an ever-new.

Introduction: Obesity is associated with health complications, overloads on the lower limb segments, whic can alter the configuration of the plantar arch and cause problems such as pai in the foot. Objective: To analyze the relationship betweem the plantar arch and the occurrence of foot pain in obese womem. Material and methods: This is a cross-sectional study of 132 obese adult women, aged between 20 and 60 years. They were evaluated for BMI, intensity of foot pain, plantigraphy and Foot Function Index - Brazil (FFI). Results: The presence of flat arches was related to the high body mass index, as well as the pain referring to the questionnaire Foot Function Index (FFI). Was found a prevalence of 41.9% cavus foot, 39.3% typical and 18.9% flat. When the foot was related to anthropometric measurements, the flat plantar arch was more prevalent among those with higher anthropometric measurements. Conclusion: In this study with obese women, it was found that the largest anthropometric measurements are related to the presence of a flat plantar arch and the presence of pain in this region, including pain related to the daily situations of obese women. The movement professionals' view of these patients is extremely important for the education, prevention and treatment of the obese population, in order to avoid overweight., Introduzione: L'obesità è associata a complicazioni di salute, sovraccarico sui segmenti degli arti inferiori, che possono modificare la configurazione dell'arco plantare e causare problemi come il dolore al piede.

- Abstract

- Abstract
Pain is the main reason for a visit to the consultant in musculoskeletal practice. It can be acute or chronic. Depending on the clinical presentations, it can be characterized by features of nociception and/or central sensitization. According to the biopsychosocial model, the disorder is defined by the impact that the pain has on the person's quality of life, i.e. on their disability. This article aims to highlight the relationship between pain and disability, and the potential clinical consequences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PAIN , *EMOTIONS , *ANIMAL behavior , *PHILOSOPHY , *NEUROSCIENCES - Abstract
The experience of pain can be referred verbally by human subjects and, although this criterion is considered during scientific and medical procedures, it appears evident that the same principle cannot be applied to other species. Thus, pain in animals is usually inferred by non-verbal behaviors, but this inference is not, or should not be that simple to make. In the present work available philosophical, ethological and neuroscientific resources about the experience of pain in humans and animals will be reviewed, to explore continuities and specificities by a comparative perspective. Also, a new framework will be proposed to highlight some significant behaviors related to pain experience within the animal kingdom. In detail, we suggest that by observing and analyzing complex emotional and social (shared) experiences related to pain it would be possible to infer, at least in some cases, the presence of a subjective experience of pain. - Abstract
Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease often associated with a strong impairment of sexual life, mainly characterized by the experience of genital-pelvic pain during intercourses. The literature highlighted that endometriosis mainly affects the female reproductive system and therefore has a strong impact on sexuality, on gender identity, on the quality of a woman's relational and mental life. The present study arises from the intention to deepen the psycho-affective health situation of women with endometriosis. The overall goal is to explore the characteristics associated with psycho-affective and sexual health in a small group of women with endometriosis by comparing it with a group of healthy women. The general hypothesis is that endometriosis women would report worse scores in all the areas examined (sexual function, alexithymia, emotions endorsed during sexual activity and psychological symptoms). Data were collected in two groups of women: 35 patients in child-bearing age (age range 18-45 years, M = 34.83, SD = 7.70) with a diagnosis of endometriosis (verified by laparoscopy) belonging to the department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Policlinico Umberto I and 41 healthy women from the general population. All women completed a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS), the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), the MCGill Pain Questionnaire (MCGILL), the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and the Symptom Check-List-90-R (SCL-90-R). In the results, the group with endometriosis reported clinical scores in the area of sexuality (overall sexual functioning and pain), a higher level of psychological distress (especially in the somatization dimension) and a more negative emotions endorsed during sexual activity compared to the control group. Surprisingly, there was no significant difference between the two groups regarding to alexithymia. Although there are no significant differences between the two groups in this dimension, however, women with endometriosis showed a light tendency to report greater difficulty in identifying feelings. The presence of alexithymia might represent a defense mechanism against mental and physical pain that should be better deepened in future studies. Chronic diseases involve a series of bodily, affective and cognitive transformations that force the individual to a radical existential change and an identity redefinition. The results obtained are in line with the data in the literature that testify the tendency of people suffering from chronic diseases to translate their internal conflicts through somatic symptoms. Women with endometriosis usually show passive and avoidant coping, negative emotions associated with poor mental status, and this is important to be considered for clinical purposes. This study further confirms how endometriotic pathology can have important repercussions, as well as on the body, even in the psycho-affective and sexual sphere of the women affected. A profile emerged of women suffering and tending to somatization and a greater experience of negative emotions associated with sexual suffering. The literature suggests that a biopsychosocial approach, which places the woman to the center of a system and takes into account the psychological, biological and social variables in play, may be the most suitable for coping with the complexity of endometriosis. A model of this type is inspired by an integrated approach to the individual, the couple and the disease. Finally, it is important to remember that the analysis of the problem from a psycho-sexological point of view as well as a physiological one, with particular attention to the diagnosis and treatment phases, could result in an improvement of the assistance services and a higher probability of therapeutic success in the endometriosis pathology. - Abstract
The author, after having collected the most recent theological and pastoral reflections about popular piety, brings out its ontological link with the church liturgy, through the analysis of one of these forms: "Beggars Mass". After obtaining the finding of the last surveys on youth, he explains why following popular spirituality is a suitable way to educate young people and develop their faith, as required by the last preparatory document of the episcopal synod about young people. The strong point of this choice lies in Maria's beauty, that is not derived from her youth but, theologically, from her connection to Christ. The pain of Christ on the cross illuminates the human features of the young woman of Nazaret, so she appears to be close to young people of our time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Advances in medical research have led to the development of clinical and radiological examinations capable of assessing musculoskeletal tissues and structures in ever greater depth. Despite this progress, we are still not able to identify with precision the structural origin of musculoskeletal pain in most patients. Nevertheless, diverse therapeutic approaches have proven to be effective in treating musculoskeletal pain, such as manual therapy, exercise and education. The aim of this article is to investigate the elements of uncertainty present in daily clinical practice and discuss how best to deal with them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Pain can affect the attention and cognitive capacities of anyone, and probably even more so in patients affected by neurological conditions. Hence, it can interfere with the rehabilitative treatment after brain injury. Although it is still not clear to what extent patients with disorders of consciousness have a conscious experience of the unpleasantness of pain, and not just an autonomic response to harmful stimuli, the evaluation of physiological and behavioral nociceptionrelated signs is critical, especially before nursing maneuvers and physiotherapy sessions. The use of validated scales and a multiprofessional approach are mandatory in defining the presence, intensity and duration of signs, determining factors which could trigger or relieve pain, and ensuring a patient-centered treatment to optimize the rehabilitative pathway. - Abstract

The physicians of primary medicine occupy a key diagnostic position because they guide early pain management and they have a central role in the selection of the patients (triaging) for specific therapeutic approaches. Pharmacological therapy is selected based on the type of pain: determining pain as to nociceptive or neuropathic is the prerequisite for adopting the correct approach. Only having investigated with attention and clarified all these aspects it is possible to prescribe a suitable analgesic therapy and to appraise its effectiveness in the time.

For this, a narrative research of bibliographic nature was carried out using the electronic databases PubMed, Scielo and Capes. The general objective of this study was to identify the relationship between pain perception and motivation in football players. With the results, it was realized that, even in pain, athletes, in cases of enduring it, avoid informing the technical committee for fear of being left out of the squad (losing title and relevance). In addition, athletes are very affected in motivation, especially with regard to psychological factors in times of injury, reaching cases of depression and stress when they are away for long periods. It is concluded, then, that the athletes are mostly intrinsically motivated. The coach, as well as his methodologies, are the main factors of extrinsic motivation The subjective exacerbated perception of pain is one of the demotivational factors, mainly in cases of injuries, which occurs due to the heroic character that is created around the athlete and the competitive high rate of revenue collection. Precisely for this reason, psychological monitoring must be carried out with these players, both from larger and smaller divisions, seeking to always help them, not only in times of injury.
